Help with a loop problem please

Question

I have a loop which is supposed to loop as long as the computer is guessing the player's number between 1 and 1000.
It first prompts the user if the number they are thinking of is 500.
The player must enter too high , too low, or correct accordingly.(I know its a weird game , but its an assignment for university)
then depending on the answer, the computer guesses again lower or higher.
My loop gets stuck and for sum reason asks the question twice. I have moved the println code around, but it doesn't seem to work.

The correct part works fine, I'm not sure why the others don't.

I think you problem lies here...
if (playerAnswer.equalsIgnoreCase(low) == true)
               computerNumber = (computerNumber * 2);
               System.out.println("Is it " + computerNumber);

                }You are if you're using equalsIgnoreCase, you are looking for the exact input of "low". For instance, if you type too low you can see that won't match. Another recommendation is that you change you're print statement to specify exactly where it's in the loop. Echoing Is it can mislead you what statements are being executed.
System.out.println("The value is to low.  Value=" + computerNumber);If you're looking specifically for the string too low then you can change the statement equal to
playerAnswer.equalsIgnoreCase("too low")A better way would be use the matches() function and define a regular expression to do the string match.
