Help with Adobe Premiere Pro and AME CS6

Hi all,
First off, i would like to state that i'm pretty inexperienced in video editing, so please keep that in mind when answering or questioning something.I will try to explain my question to the best of my abilities, but please answer in a 'simple' manner, and don't shoot me when i miss something obvious.
I came across a 'performance?'-issue (slow exporting) for which i don't really know how to find the solution. I've been struggling with it for a while.
Your (any) help or insight is greatly appreciated!
My system:
Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit (Service Pack 1)
RAM 20 GB
Intel Core I73770 (dual quad core)
Direct x 11.0
Nvidia NVS 310
Adobe premiere pro CS6 (upgrading to adobe CC is unfortunately not an option)
Adobe media encoder CS6
They asked me to edit some video's on a regular basis, nothing complicated, just a 'training'-video. Length of video is about 2 hours edited.
File info:
Source file is 1920x1080 (1,0), 25fps, Upper, 2:11:10:24, 48000Hz, Stereo
There is one audio channel (left is standard mic, right is a shotgun mic) which is split to two audio channels, edited in aodbe audition (basic noise reduction)
I've been running into export times of over 12 hours (exported to mp4), which i'm guessing is a bit much.. . The slowness is also occuring with other export settings.
I came across a possible solution (in short: changing the Video Rendering and Playback in the project settings of APP) but that field is inactive for me...? what's up?
"Use Preview Files" works in CS5.5 but is "Useless" in CS6
I don't really know what to do from here, to figure out the solution. Any suggestions on fixing or troubleshooting the extremely long export times??
Thx in advance.

  • Hi. I need urgent help with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3

Hello there. I am new to using Adobe Premiere CS3. As I have given up on Vegas. But I am stuck at the first hurdle! Please help.
When I load up Premiere, I select new project. Once I click that it asks me to load a preset. And I have no idea what to choose! And I have a project that needs to be edited, I am really anxious about it all.
My footage that I want to edit was shot on a 600D DSLR. And I dont know what preset to choose for the best quality when I render. (I cannot recall what shuitter speed I shot at I think it was varied).
Belowe is a picture that I am stuck on.
So IF YOU COULD PLEASE tell me what to select for my 600D footage I would be so grateful.!!!
(I also plan to put the edit onto a DVD - If that matters). (And Youtube).

Or, if you don't have a 64bit computer and Win7 64bit to run CS6, take a look at Premiere Elements 10
I **think** it works with your camera, but check the PreElements forum before you buy

  • Needing help with Adobe Premiere Pro

Yes, I know it is ancient but I still use it. I use it for my school's daily news broadcast. We capture our students as if they are presenting a live news program and then assemble in the timeline. We use a miniDV camcorder and firewire. Once we have all of the elements in the timeline, we then are able to play the timeline via the firewire (hooked to the camcorder) through the play/edit mode through a VCR out via coaxial cable to all of the classrooms in our school.
My current problem is that I encountered an error while creating a movie. I have a preset that saves versions every 3 minutes. I tried opening each of them but it just keeps saying it's loading but that is it...nothing ever comes on the screen. I moved a title slide (in a folder outside of the project folder destination) right before I had decided to make the movie. I did get one version to open---finally but thought...well, let's try a later one...so I don't have to "recreate" everything I had just done....then none of them would open...not even the one I got open.
Also, if anyone has any suggestions on a different way to do what I am doing using newer technology...please share.
Finally, is there updates that maybe I need to download or something to continue to be able to use Premiere Pro???
Please share any and all suggestions...desperate in Missouri

    John,
Take a trip in the WABAC Machine.
Now, I could be wrong, but when the OP said "Yes, I know it is ancient but I still use it." I assume they meant the original version. The one without a number. The one some people called Premiere Pro 7, or Premiere 7. Or whatever. The one right after Premiere 6.
I remember having to go through the numbering explanation in my tutorials on Premiere Pro 1.5 since confusion reigned. You can still watch the introductory video and get my explanation starting around the 40 second mark.
But, as I said, I could have it wrong. They might have a different version.

  • XDCAM HD workflow with Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Macbook Pro

    Hi folks,
I have an assignment for a TV production to secure and convert the data (mxf files XDCAM HD 422 1080i 50 / 50 Mbit/sec with 8 audio channels) from Sony XDCAM camcorders (PDW-700) for postproduction.
The producer wants me to convert the mxf files during production to Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) for faster and smooth editing during postproduction.
I'm not sure about the final output yet, but I guess it will be either 720p50 or 1080i 25, since the production will be broadcast and as far as I know this is the standard for HD on German television. It is also not clear which NLE will be used for editing (usually one of the producers edits their projects with FCP, but this time they've got their hands full and are still looking for someone to outsource postproduction.
Unfortunately, my Macbook is getting fixed as we speak, so I can't try things out.
Since this is the first time I'm doing this workflow, could someone please check if I got everything right?
    1. Can someone please confirm that I can actually convert the mxf files using AME CC to Apple ProRes 422?
Or do I need to install any other tools/converters for this task? Does MPEG streamclip do the job? Any other freeware?
    2. When converting to Apple ProRes422, the producer suggested to deinterlace the footage (1080i 50) to 25p, if 720p or 1080p I have to find out tomorrow since our conversation got interrupted this afternoon.
In my opinion this doesn't make sense, though. First, if output to 1080i 25 it has to stay interlaced anyway. Second, in case the output will be 720p 50 I would edit the footage either natively or in Apple ProRes 422, but leave deinterlacing until the very end when outputting to the final format. This way I could use an advanced deinterlacer, e.g. the one from Magic Bullet Suite, rather than just checking some deinterlace box in the export settings for Apple ProRes 422.
The reason the producer suggested to deinterlace right away when using  an intermediate like ProRes was that she and the client got irritated by the jagged lines from the interlaced footage when editing the last project with the same requirements on a progressive display.
    3. What would be the best solution to tackle this issue (jagged lines) during editing?
As I said my Mac is getting fixed, so I have no way of trying things out,and I usually edit DSLR footage which is progressive anyway.
But if I remember correctly I can switch my monitor between 1080p and 1080i. This should do the trick, shouldn't it?
    4. Can I keep all of the 8 audio tracks when converting to ProRes using AME CC ?
    5. Is ProRes422 (HQ) really necessary, or is the regular quality sufficient for this kind of job?
    6. Let's assume the whole project would be edited within Adobe Premiere Pro CC and  system specs as stated below:
Since Adobe Premiere Pro CC has native support for  XDCAM HD is there any advantage of using an intermediate like ProRes at all?
How smooth is native editing with XDCAM HD in Premiere Pro CC? I don't think there will be more than 3-4 video tracks in use...
    Thanks for your help!

Thanks Jim! I knew there must be a reason xdcam is widely uses for eng aquistion :) I think they used FCP 6 or 7 on their last project... So what about monitoring interlaced footage on a progressive screen? Any advice on that? Is there a converter built in to APP CC that deinterlaces in realtime when monitoring interlaced sources on a progressive screen? And would you agree that deinterlacing source material is best left right before outputting?

  • Avid Unity with Adobe Premiere Pro CC and After Effects

Has anyone used Avid Unity for media with Adobe Premiere Pro CC? I'd like to hear some feedback as we are working on doing that right now, and I'd like to know what the hurdles or pitfalls might be.

Open System Preferences > Mouse and/or Trackpad.
    Adjust the speed.
If that fails, try running the combo updater.

FCP 10.1 DV capturing from camera breaking the scenes into unwanted clips by flashing a black screen on import window. But its fine and accurate with adobe premiere pro cc ?
    Any solution * Advance Thanks

FCP X will import into separate clips every time it detects a scene change (as when you stopped and started recording in the camera). There is no option to avoid this, as far as I known.
You may try importing from camera using Quicktime Player X and then bringing the imported file into FCP X.

  • Export multichannel mp4/h.264 with Adobe Premiere Pro CC

    Dear community,
we currently test the Adobe Premiere Pro CC trial (German) on a Windows 7 Professional PC.
However, we are not succentful in exporting a multichannel mp4/H.264 clip.
We haven't found an answer on our issue so far, so I hope that this question was not answered several times before in this forum.
If we chosse the H.264 exporter, we cannot select a multichannel audio export (only mono, stereo, 5.1).
In contrary, if we select the Quicktime exporter, we are able to export our sequence with a 4 channel audio master with 4 mono tracks, but we can only export it with a DVCPro Codec in a mov container.
If we try to select a HD H.264 preset we get an error alert stating that the preset contains a not compatible video codec.
    What are we doing wrong?
    Thanks for every suggestion.
    Thanks in advance
    André

    Thanks for your thoughts, Richard.
Your are right, we currentky use the Adobe Premiere Creative Cloud version.
We managed it to solve at least the error message. It was caused because Quicktime was not installed together with the Adobe Premiere Pro / AME setup on our computer.
After we installed Quicktime 7 manually, we can select a Quicktime/H.264 preset without any problems within the exporter settings.
However, the Quicktime/H.264 export dialog seems to only allow a mono or stereo audio export. No multichannel-audio export.
This possibility is only displayed in Richards case, if we select the Quicktime exporter and an Uncompressed Video or DV preset.
Our question to the Adobe developer guys is the reason behind this limition? Other video authoring prograns can export a mp4 with H.264 Codec with multichannel AAC without any problems.
How can we do this with Adobe Premiere Pro (not necessarily via Quicktime)?

  • I couldn´t see imported videos with Adobe Premiere pro

    Hello:
My name is Oren. I´m from Spain, and this is my problem.
One month ago I bought a Toshiba Satellite 850-31M. It has an x64 processor, 16 GB of RAM and I have 2 hard drives, the c: an SSD of 500 GB and other of 1 Tb hardisk, configured as D:. It has a GeForce GT 630M graphics card with 2 GB of RAM. W8 operating system.
I wanted to try the Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and I downloaded the trial version. No problem, until I tried to import a video in the source window. Appears a small window that says "importing" and give to play in the source window and start .Audio be heard, but not the image. I've tried different video formats and always the same. The same video are seamlessly Quick Time and other video viewers ..... I do not know what to do, I think I've tried everything, even restart the computer to its factory settings and install Adobe Premiere vacuum and the problem remains. I tested with a trial of Premiere CS5.5 and got it. You hear the audio but no video . Insert the video in the timeline and recognizes it as such, even the first frame, but said, is not seeing in the "source", nor in the preview, only the audio.
What could it be? Am I you could lend a hand I'm desperate?
    thank you very much

It would appear under the organizer tab that the photos are organised in the lowest folder in the folder structure within Windows Explorer.  How can I use the Windows Explorer structure to organise the photos within Elements.

In a situation such as yours, I tend to consolidate items into folders so I have folders of nice workable numbers of images, somewhere between 20 and 200 images. Now, whatever, once you've imported, do your moving within LR, not the OS! I will select all in a folder and drag into a folder a level or two or three above, and then delete the newly empty subfolders. I hope this helps a bit!
Once you've reached just new Imports of camera output, you'll be flying along.

  • Need help with Adobe Premiere Elements 2

I can drag a large high rez jpeg into timeline. Then when I click to playback....it gets more pixelated. That's a bad beginning. Then, when I go to export it, I've tried several extensions. All look bad during playback on YouTube. This should be pretty simple. High quality jpeg, but is fuzzy in movie. What's going wrong?

    hi Bill -
ok fine. I have PSDs too. I tried what you said.
I put a PSD right beside a JPEG in the timeline. I rendered it (which I
didn't know to do because the instructions don't even mention it. The
instructions are terrible. Seems it leaves out a lot of info.)
So, then I click PLAY on my monitor. I see no difference between the PSD
and the JPEG yet. So, if I want to put this on YouTube, what's the best way
exactly, without gettting too technical?  It looks like I have the choice
between Exporting in Mpeg or Quicktime or Windows Media. I think youtube
    likes wmv.

When you drag the stills to the Timeline, there should be a red line
above them. Press Enter to Render the Timeline.

Do not know the particulars of PrE 2, but in later versions, you can
Rt-click on the Program Monitor, and choose Magnification = 100%, rather
than Fit. You might have to resize your Program Monitor, but check at 100%.

    Also remember a few points:

1.) You are looking at a DVD-quality image now, and that was designed
with low-rez CRT TV's in mind, and NOT hi-rez computer monitors. DVD vs
hi-rez sources and displays is probably less than what VHS vs DVD was, not
    that long ago.
2.) You are looking at an emulation, a preview
3.) Your images have already been compressed to JPEG once, loosing
quality. That is why I always work in PSD, especially if there has already
been one JPEG compression, whether in camera, or in the image processing
stage. I keep JPEG either out of my workflow, or as limited, as is
possible. Some do not see the quality loss with JPEG compression, but I do,
and if I can create images that are as good as it gets, I know that my
    clients will be happy.

    Good luck,

  • Editing Faster You Way with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 | Adobe at NAB 2012 | Adobe TV

Join Karl Soule, Business Development Manager at Adobe, as he unveils and demos the exciting new features in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. See how Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 combines incredible performance with a sleek revamped UI, and a host of powerful new creative features, including Warp Stabilizer for stabilizing footage, dynamic timeline trimming, expanded multicam editing, adjustment layers, and more for a fluid workflow.
    http://adobe.ly/HImtcE

    Sleek revamped UI?
Until the UIs across all CS products are consistent, the UI as a whole is a complete failure.
It is astounding how after all these years, the CS products STILL have different UIs and UXs.  Even the way the user accesses basic functions for layers (rename, duplicate, etc.) are not consistent from one app to the next.
So please hold the comments about the UI, other than "We realize we have completely failed, and our different product groups do not care at all about a unified experience across the suite, and each just want to do their own thing.  And nobody in Adobe was willing to beat our groups up to force them to have some consistency.  That is priority #1 for our next release."

  • Help me before I turn to Adobe Premiere Pro and PC!

I am desperately trying to import HVD footage from a Sony HVR-A1 in OfflineRT mode. I have a pretty slow Mac which does not allow me to work with native HDV or Apple intermediate codec and I WILL HAVE TO turn to PC if I do not find a quick solution… Argh…
I have tried the following :
    1. OfflineRT HD esay setup specifying HDV as Capture setup and Sony HDV 1081i50 Firewire.
    - It has worked once and not more after that
    - The sequence is in JPG compressed mode but clips are all captured in full HDV, which makes it impossible to edit in RT… I have no idea of what is going on…
    2. Offline RT (DV)
    - Using i-link downconvert mode to capture in OfflineRT mode
    - Everything seems OK until I finally try to batch capture in HDV. I then systematically get error messages and only a small part of the clips are captured.
    3. HDV capture and transfer to OfflineRT HD via Media Manager (recompress)
    - Everything works fine (capture, recompress and batch capture).
    - BUT: it seems that recompress with OfflineRT HD suppose that the original is letterbox so that when the original (as mine) is 16:9, the compressed output is strongly distorted.
    - I tried to use custom recompress procedures but they all seem to produce outputs which cannot be edited in RT…
It has been two weeks now and I did not start editing yet… What should I do? Turn to PC and Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0?

    Welcome to the forum Jean-Claude.
If you will provide your system specs, I'll bet that
someone here will get you running smoothly and
    happily.
    Sorry for that...
    My spec are:
    FCP5
    Mac OSX
2 HD (one external via firewire)
G4 on PowerBook with 512M RAM
I am capturing directly via Firewire from a Sony HVR-A1 PAL
My main concern however is that my problem does not seem to come from hardware spec since I have no real problem in capturing in native HDV (although my computer is too slow to edit in native HDV or in Apple intermediate Codec). It seemed to me that OfflineRT HD was just the way it should work for me (I can find a proper computer to fine-tune the final work) but I have found nowhere successful reports of using this option...
EDIT, just came across your other post... "Offline
editing with FCP5 OfflineRT HD"...should try to keep
only one thread active... keeps everyone from getting
    confused...
Sorry for that too... I am going to close the other one right now...

  • Audio-Problem with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 by using long Clips in AVC-Intra Codec (4Gb Border)

    Hello
We own a Panasonic camera (AJ-PX5000G) and we film in 1080p50 with the AVC-Intra100 Codec. When importing longer clips in Premiere Pro, the video is fully loaded, but the waveform of the sound ends at the Time Code 00:02:28:35.
Sometimes the sound could be played after this Timecode but otherwise there is no audio. Even if we use the same clip several times we see that it works sometimes and sometimes not. It looks random.
We also tried to import the Clips with Adobe Prelude directly from the P2-Card but there are the same problems.
The Clips in 1080p50 AVC-Intra100 have a bitrate of 227Mbps. After 2 Minutes and 28 Seconds 4Gb are written on the P2-Card and the Camera starts a new picture file and 4 sound files..
It looks like Adobe Premiere Pro has problems with the correct relation of the files that all get together to one clip.
Is there anybody who can confirm this problem? Can anybody help me with this Premiere Problem?
