Help With Album Ar

I just got the new Zen and I love it! But there is one thing I am havening much conflict with.
When you are selecting your song, a picture of the album cover comes up.
But all of mine are the same! No variety! I have so many different songs and artists, but they all have the same cover...
I've tried everything I can think of to change it(except deleting everything and starting over, I would rather not do that).
Can some one tell me what to do to change it's

I dont' have an answer, but my question is along the same line... I have basically the same problem, all my album art is the same, and it's album art i'd rather not have to look at every time i listen to music, so similarly is there a way to change the album art (I don't even care if it's the same thing, just not what i currently have!) without having to reupload my music?

  • Seeking Help with Album Image Issues in iPod Classic

    Hi folks -
I have a new 160 iPod Classic and have two album image-related issues I'd appreciate some help with.
In the case of several albums where I'd associated my own art with them in iTunes, the formatting appeared off in my iPod due to the vertical/horizontal proportions. So I corrected the images, replaced the images via iTunes, and re-synced. All of the old images were replaced - except for two. Is there any way to get my iPod to recognize the change to these two images, as it did for all the others?
Secondly, my "The Allman Brothers Band Live at Fillmore East" album was appearing twice in both the Cover Flow and Album list. That was strange, except that after the latest sync it now appears six times! It's only in one place in iTunes, and not erroneously set as a compilation or anything. This is the only album displaying this behavior...
Thanks for any suggestions or advice!
    Frank

  • Help with album display

Is it possible to restrict the text at the bottom of the album display to artist name only?

    mike c 26530 wrote:
Is there a better way to keep everything seperated?
Yes, rename the albums as *"Greatest Hits, (<artist one>)"* and *"Greatest Hits, (<artist two>)".* Then each album will have a unique name. If you attempt your method, it will give you much bigger headaches!
By the way, when you rename a "single-artist" greatest hits album have a look on the Options tab and make sure that the tick-box for *Part of a compilation* is set as No. If compilations is set to "yes" the artist may not show up on your artist list on the iPod.
For instance, The album "The Whole Story" by Kate Bush is a compilation of tracks from her other albums, but if marked as compilation (which it is when iTunes looks it up), she will not show up on the artist list unless I have another album of hers. In "Apple World" a compilation album is one with tracks from different artists and those albums should be set to compilation-yes.
    I hope that helps.

  • Restored my library from backup discs, need help with album art/playlist

Good morning everyone. Using the great information on this site I have successfully backed up "my library". I then reformatted my hd and reinstalled win xp and itunes. I was also successful in using the awesome restore feature of itunes. "My library" is back 100%.
The only thing left is the album art and my playlists- both currently on my ipod. My question is how do I update "my library" and "my playlist" from my ipod? I am worried that if I plug in my ipod without knowing what to do then my ipod will try to match "my library" (which does not have artwork) and thus my ipod will delete the album artwork. I have several thousand songs and would HATE to lose that artwork since it would be a time consuming pain to update those manually. Also I have 20 or so playlists on my ipod. I am afraid of losing those (currently on ipod) when I connect to itunes since it will try to update and match the now empty/blank playlist currently in itunes.
I am sure these are easy solutions for you pros out there. That's why I am asking! You folks have always given the proper help and advice whenever an issue has arisen. Thanks in advance!

some album covers just aren't exactly square, particularly if the CDs are sold in cardboard flip-cases.
I deal with artwork in a more hap-hazzard way, but most of the time, i get SQUARE results...
Just Google the album title, then click the IMAGES tab. More times than not, I find the album cover in multiple sizes and about every time, at least one version that is truly square.
All i need to do then is click the image, then again at the top of the resulting Google page (to show just the image - out of it's surrounding page), then drag the image directly to the Album Artwork Placeholder in the GET INFO tab (that has already been opened on multiple items - the whole album).

  • Need help with Albums style page, having trouble arranging the way I need

    Hello,
I am creating a my albums styled page for an automotive club website I am working on. I love the way the albums functionality is built into iWeb with the slide shows and automatic linking and everything, its perfect. The trouble I am having is:
on my Photos page (using my albums-styled) I want to have the albums organized into different categories. like this
    MEETS:
grid of photo albums from car meets
    PHOTO SHOOTS:
grid of photo albums from photo shoots
    TRACK DAYS:
grid of photo albums from track days
    CHALLENGES:
grid of photo albums from challenges
and thats it, something so simple is giving me so much trouble, I have not been able to find a way to duplicate the original photo album grid thats inserted by iWeb when you select a my albums styled page. and I haven't been able to find a way for me to space them freely either so that I could at least have the text in-between to separate them into the categories that I want.
I want to do the exact same setup for my VIDEOS page too with video albums.
if anyone could explain to me how I could do this it would greatly appreciated thanks

One possible method would be the following:
1 - create individual album pages for your Meets, Photo Shoots, Track Days and Challenges.
2 - do not include them in the navbar.
3 - create a blank page and add thumbnail images representing each of those album pages. If you want to add frames to them you might want to follow the suggestions in this tutorial: #7 - Converting Photos w/Frames, Drop Shadows and/or Reflections into a Single JPG Image.
4 - make each thumbnail a hyperlink to the album page it represents. This way you can arrange the thumbnail in whatever layout you'd like and even have some text description below each.
5 - on each album page turn off the navbar.
6 - put a hyperlink at the top of each album page and subsequent photo page sending the visitor back to the page created in step 1.

  • Help with album info

So heres the deal. About 3 years ago I copied about 200 of my CDs to my computer as .wav files. I manually entered them into folders to organixe them by band / album name although the tracks are listed as "Track 1, Track 2, etc. About a year ago the CDs were stolen and I am trying to move them into itunes without having to enter in everything manually...is there a way to do this, or a program that can do this?

You should be able to drag and drop them from your My Music file directly into iTunes. Then iTunes will convert them to it's own format (AAC or something like that). I've done it many times and works great. Only problem I'm having now is iTunes does not want to recognize the track # I have so I am presently trying to figure that part out: how do I add a track # to an existing iTunes track so the album will play in the correct order?
Hope this helps - and if you know the answer to my question let me know. Thanks.

  • Help with Album Artwork nightmare?

I don't know how a device that has been around for 10 years still has such unbelievable problems simply maintaining and transferring songs. I recently synched my iPhone 4S with a new MacBook Pro. So, of course, it wiped out mostly everything that was on the phone and I had to manually restore it all. Now, all the songs on the phone have the wrong album art. If you look under "Albums" the right art shows. Then, when you play one of the songs in the album, the song plays but the artwork is for a different artist and album. I don't think I have EVER actually transferred or synched anything without constant problems like this.
Does anyone know how to fix the album art so that it shows correctly on the phone? Thanks in advance.

The iPod's Artwork cache does get corrupted when making frequent changes. In the iPod's Music preferences tab in iTunes, remove the check beside "Display album artwork on your iPod" and select Apply.
Once the iPod has finished syncing, recheck it and hit Apply again. iTunes should recreate the artwork cache and re-sync it to your iPod.

The image is correctly referenced in the feed and should appear in the iTunes Store page eventually. It has always tended to take several days to appear, but a number of people have complained recently that their images weren't appearing even after several weeks - though some of them do now seem to have appeared. So don't be surprised if it takes rather a long time: it should appear in the end, and you've done all you can.

  • Help with Album Covers...

I have Albums of artists who's albums are explicit but when I download the album cover, it always selects the clean album cover. Is there a way for me to select which album cover I want?

Through Apple no I'm afraid there isn't.
Through other means though, yeah. Go to http://www.cdcovers.cc/covers.php and search for the covers you want and download them. Highlight all the songs in one album and "get info". On the resulting screen drag the image file into the Artwork box. Close dialogue and admire your explicit oriented new album cover.

  • Help with Album View

Can anyone tell me why one album splits itself into several parts in album and list views.? I can't seem to get them all in one. Annoying that one or two songs separate themselves out. Thanks

    Paul,
It appears to me that iTunes has your album stored in separate folders in the system. As you step through the files in the album (do a multiple selection, Get Info and step through each file on the Summary tab), are all the files in the same folder? Look at the "Where" value on the bottom of the dialog.
If all of the files from the same album are in the same folder, we could dig into the "iTunes Library" file.

  • Help with 'Album View' when I have multiple artists with Greatest Hits...

Hi, I just got a new iPod Nano and I've started to import CD's I've had lying around. I came upon this problem when viewing my list in 'Album View', where Guns 'N Roses and Queen each have a 'Greatest Hits' album. iTunes lumps them both together without showing any album artwork.

See also One cover, too many tracks.

  • Help with photo albums Please

Hi, i really need some help with my pictures, I've only got a very basic understanding of how my phone works and have somehow put a load of albums on my phone when i plugged it into the computer-I want to delete some of them off the phone but cannot work out how to do it, when i plug my phone in i can find the photo tab but cannot actually see the pictures and can't see any delete button!!! Please can someone help me, basic explanations would be gratefully recieved xxxx

The photo sync is one way: computer to phone. To remove photos, synced to your phone, remove the check marks next to the albums/folders under the photos tab in itunes & hit the apply/sync button. They will be removed from your phone. You cannot delete photos that were synced to your phone, directly on your phone. The easiest way to manage photos synced to your phone is to create albums or folders on your computer. Move whatever photos you want on your phone into these albums/folders & then select them under the photos tab in itunes to sync to your phone. You can then remove or add photos to these various albums/folders on your computer & the itunes sync process will update your phone every time you sync.

Cannot download new U2 album. Says purchased on my account but no evidence anywhere and I definitely did not purchase it. Can anyone help with what is going on?

It was given free to everyone on tuesday as part of the iPhone 5 event/announcement, so it will show as purchased in the store.
If this is on your iPhone then either turn Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under 'show all') 'on' - it should then show in the Music app with a cloud icon against it for downloading.
Or go to the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app, select Music, and it might then show under 'Various' - when downloaded it should correctly be under U2 in Music.
If you are using your computer's iTunes then you should be able to download it into your library by ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box on the Store tab in Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) - it should then show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it for downloading (downloading the booklet for it this way may not work, you may get a 'corrupt file' message when trying to open it).
Or go to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage and you should be able to download it from there.
A third option on a computer is to sign out of your account (Store > Sign Out menu option), find the album in the store and then click on its free 'price' button - you should then be prompted to sign back in and the album should download.
