Help with anamorphic media

I'm trying to capture 16:9 media I recorded with my Panasonic PV-GS320 Mini DV camera. I was told to use DV NTSC Anamorphic, which looks fine in the preview but when I capture it it's stretched into 4:3 and looks really bad. I know that anamorphic will stretch media to the size of the screen but when I export it and play it on my widescreen MacBook Pro it still comes out as 4:3 (note: I didn't spend any time editing I just exported a small segment of Raw for a test).
How in the world do I keep it in 16:9??? I can do it well in iMovie, should I use that to capture?? please someone help me!!!

Ok first hanumang is absolutly right no doubt, If I know what he is telling to you I will not burn like 20 dvd trying to do what you want. So let me say that I have the same camcorder that you have so here are the steps to export in anamorphic.
1. In FCP/Audio&Video Settings/Capture preset/DV NTSC 48 kHZ Anamorphic
2. Sequence/Right click/check anamorphic
3. File/Export Quick Time Movie/Current Settings
Thats it if you want to view the resultinf file like originlas clips that you capture (anamorphic) do what hanumang says and select clean. Then if you select movie info you will see that the file size will be 853 x 480 then file save and that's it
Then if you want to burn it on idvd just select the project aspect ratio to 16:9 good luck... ooohhhh if you want to burn a dvd to view it on a regular tv 4:3 that's another thing just let me know.

What excactly is the usecase you are trying here? Are using your external Apache to proxy your http traffic from FMS to it or do you want to use http streaming feature of FMS?

Help with Adobe Media Encoder 3.1

I like to broadcast on a site called Justin.Tv and I just got myself a Black HD DVC100 Dazzle to broadcast with.
I downloaded my Driver for my Dazzle and such and the Adobe Media Encoder and such and when I pick the option in the Video Section on the Media Encoder it always closes my Encoder.
The laptop I'm on is a HP Windows 7 and it's a good computer, and it keeps closing my Media Encoder but on my other HP Mini Windows 7 laptop it doesnt do that
Any help please?

Wrong forum. This is for CS5. Try CS4 and earlier. BTW, a laptop is far from ideal.

Help with windows media player

Tried to sync my i pod to my windows media player...
it did
now my i pod will not reconise the info on it!!
now my pod is giving me a file with an ! mark and telling me to restore via the updater,\
i have tried that but the updater is telling me "firmware update failure disk write error" does ne 1 know *** is going on???

here's a good place to start with that message:
"Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod or "Firmware update failure" error when updating or restoring iPod

XM Radio Help With Windows Media Player

Does anyone know how to get XM Radio to work within Safari? The Windows Media Player plug-in tries to connect but never does. I tried the Flip4Mac plug-in and got the same non-result.
I got the AOL radio player to work but it does not offer all of the XM channels.

Well, I just signed up for a 3 day trial at XM and listened to a couple of songs through Safari. I'm not certain which version of Windows Media Player you have installed. If you don't have version 9 then head over to Microsoft and download it. If you do have try re-installing it and see if that helps.

I need help with the Media Encoder, but do not see a forum for that

I'm having difficulty with some large Windows Media Files--200 to 300 MB--using the CS4 Media Encoder to encode into FLV. Is there a file size limit for source files? I moved the files locally to remove any network issues. If this is not the correct forum, pelase advise.

Syncing issues post laptop restore. Need some help with getting media back off phone and into itunes again

I recently had to restore my HP laptop. After the restore, i re-installed itunes and can now not get all media on my iphone to re-sync back into itues.. any tips? I have all files backed up from laptop pre-restore, yet cant get this to work. any tips?

If any of your devices are running iOS7 then you need to use iTunes 11.1.1.
Using system restore can confuse the process of adding or removing software. Always use the supplied installer/removal process if possible.
Sometimes it may be necessary to reboot after adding or removing one component before the next can be added or removed.
Manually deleting files or registry entries is likely to make the problem more complicated, not less so, particularly if Windows still things the software is installed.
If an installer still won't complete try starting Windows in safe mode.

Need Help with Windows Media Plug-in

I like to use Safari to open espn.com's espn radio page to listen to it live which runs through Windows Media.

I tried to download Windows Media for Mac, which won't open on this Mac. I downloaded Flip4MacWMV which placed itself in the system preferences section.
In short, I can open the web page but can't hear the radio program. Can you give me some tips on how to activate this? It works just fine on my other computer, which runs system 10.3.5.

ESPN Radio is working for me as well. What happens if you try another browser, such as Firefox or Camino?

I think at FMLE end it looks ok, i mean url the way you entered seem to be fine. I think if you have FMS access it would be good to see FMS logs and see what you see there. Also do you have access to server-side applications - you might want to see what code is there in application "g2q6m9d2"

Help with Facebook and Social Media wigets (Was: How do I fix the three probs that...)

I am having problems with the facebook or social media widgets. I would like the link to send viewers to my facebook business page, but when testing it shows my pic and a 'switch' sign (see screen shot) and when I open the site the message is as the other screenshot, great, but I don't know where to find which 'asset' is the problem and why. Also why bother having child pages if the menu doesn't reflect that? I see that drop down menus are an issue, also with some other forum members.

For some reason the facebook widget now loads the correct page, and I give up about the drop down menu, hopefully this will be addressed in the next update of Muse??

For the "asset" issue, try locating the asset in the assets panel. It should have an icon like this: http://jingsite.businesscatalyst.com/jing/2013-12-16_0917.png
For the child pages in the menus issue, go to the menu options (by clicking the small blue arrow in the right top corner of the menu), and then change the menu type to "All Pages" instead of "Top Level Pages".

Help with encoding windows media file

Hello, I have recently stared using After effects to edit some movies. Basically I am importing some .wmv videos (with sound), adding some visual effects to them and and want to export them just like they were but with the effects. After that I will then want to copy the videos to an external hard drive and be able to connect it to a Sony blu ray player and watch them on the tv. The entire process works fine with the videos before all the editing happens. But something happens to the audio. It plays fine on the PC but when I play it through the blu ray player, there is no sound and it says it is"this audio type is not supported."
My best guess is that it looks like AE wants to encode the audio with Windows Media Audio 10 Professional by default and it's possible that the bluray player can't play that. Does this sound right to you?
I know you can choose Windows Media Audio 9 and 9.2. for the output but 9 played back in slow motion sound and I'm currently waiting for 9.2 to export.
Any advice for using another codec like AVI or FLV? Or maybe something else?

I suggest exporting your files through Adobe Media Encoder (AME). It has Blu-ray encoding presets, as well as handling WMV encoding better than After Effects.

I am having a porblem with windows media center for xp. Whenever I start media center my screen goes blank and I am not able to use it. The only way I can exit is by going thru the task manager and killing the media center application.

How & where do you get help with iTunes?

I've read the troubleshooting, and posted here, but no one seems to know enough about iTunes to answer. I can't convert video to an ipod version. I downloaded the sample.mov and tried to convert it, and I get the same result as with any other movie "Error occurred while converting the file "sample_iTunes". The required file cannot be found". I ran Filemon (Filemon monitors and displays file system activity on a system in real-time. Its advanced capabilities make it a powerful tool for exploring the way Windows works, seeing how applications use the files and DLLs, or tracking down problems in system or application file configurations. Filemon`s time stamping feature will show you precisely when every open, read, write or delete, happens, and its status column tells you the outcome) to see what file iTunes wasn't finding.
For some reason it seemed to think that mcicda.dll belongs on the desktop instead of in the system32 folder, so I copied it to desktop, and tried again. Now I still get the same "The required file cannot be found" error. The only problem is that iTunes returns a "success" for every file it searches. My movies & videos remain unconverted.
I understand that this may be beyond most peoples' technical expertise. This forum is users helping users. I tried Apple iTunes troubleshooting. It only covers one or two problems. So where are people to go when they don't have problem #1 or 2? With Windows, I can go to an official XP forum, and get help from certified windows experts. I can even get free email support with some software. But I've seen nothing of the sort from Apple for the iTunes software.
Did I miss it? Does it exist?

This has been an enlightening experience. Thanks to the both of you who took the time to answer my apparently difficult question. Katrina S. said that Apple doesn't provide support for the iTunes software because it's a free program. While I could see that if it functioned passively (as with Windows Media Player), iTunes is totally enmeshed with the optimun functioning of the ipod. It was set up to function with the ipod, which is likely why iTunes didn't work with other mp3/media players. Now the music is DRM-free, and can work with other players, but purchased video is still confined to an ipod. Itunes won't even convert the sample_.mov from its own Troubleshooting, let alone video from other sources. If iTunes is supposed to be an integral part of using an ipod, then the malfunctioning of iTunes should be an issue Apple should address. If I Google "Windows Media Player support", the 1st 4 results are from Microsoft, not from a user forum (even though the program is also free). One site even starts with "Start here when Microsoft Windows Media Player is not working how you expected". Wow, that IS support! There's no reason (aside from cheapness? dismissiveness?) that Apple shouldn't step up.
Nonetheless, I will call Apple. Nothing to lose. At worst, I'll have to initially deal with some smug person who will be yet more condescending when he finds out I have a pc and not a mac. Then, after he can't fix the problem, I'll be passed on to the much nicer, more knowledgeable tech support person. This was my experience with Apple support a couple years ago with my 1st ipod. I can go through this again if it helps. I'll let you know.
Pickles1128, I have tried this program (MPEG Streamclip [www.squared5.com])to convert movies/music videos for my ipod nano 4th gen. Now, just the "audio format not supported" excuse appears when ipod won't load the video. But this is the same result I had gotten using Moyea Video Converter. I used MPEG Streamclip with the newest Quicktime, not the Quicktime alternative program mentioned for those without QT. While this program would export the video/audio file, all options involving actually converting the file were grey-ed out and unusable. Sure, I suppose I could separately export the video & audio files in workable formats, then (currently beyond my ability), recombine them. But shouldn't programs work much easier than this?
