Hello,
AppWorld records, including purchases, remain attached to the BB ID. Hence, you must use the same BB ID on the new device in order to transfer the apps to the new device. But, since you are already in a position where you've created a new BB ID, you must abandon that and shift this BB over to your old BB ID. To do so, refer:
KB26694 How to change the BlackBerry ID on a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet or BlackBerry smartphone
The resolution is indeed drastic, so please be sure you have a good backup from which to restore after completing the WIPE. Hopefully, your new BB ID has no records you need to retain (e.g., new purchases) as there is no automated way to merge two BB ID accounts.
Good luck!

  • Help with App-World PLEASE

I bought a second-hand Blackberry Curve 8520 today, and called my provider, Virgin asking them if they could help with App-World, they left me on hold for nearly 30 minutes so I hung up. I have got my BBM sorted, but when I try to use the App World it says that it is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World Server and that I should verify my network connections. I have no idea what this means and really need help.
    Thank you

    Sorted it now

  • Need Help with App World on the Blackberry Curve 9300

Right i got the new Blackberry curve 9300 about a week ago. All my mates already have blackberry curves 8520's. I downloaded App World to get the same theme has my mate, but when i go on his it says he has over 1300 themes on his App World and i only have around 300 on my App World. Why is this? Also i can't get the theme i want because i don't have all the themes on my App World for some reason. If you could help please reply.

The 8520 and the 9300 are completely different devices with different OS's etc.  The theme on an 8520 probably won't work on the 9300.  The 9300 hasn't been out nearly as long as the 8520 so there are fewer themes available.  This will change with time.

  • Problems with APP World

Just got back into the Curve from a WM phone and I forgot how easy this phone is to use!!! Having a problem with App world though. I;m receiving an error message stating I'm unable to connect to the server. Anyone have any suggestions on how to rectify the problem? I'm sure it's a super easy fix and I'm just missing it online somewhere. Thanks!

Here's a few steps I've recommended that have worked for some...
There have been some issues with the AppWorld services lately...most are reported to be cleared up. Please try again. Also, please try removing and re-installing AppWorld...some have reported that to be helpful. In addition...RIM has released AppWorld version 1.1.0.15...it is highly recommended to be on that version.
Also please try a hard reset: With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
In addition, you can try this sequence:
    1) Remove AppWorld from your BB (Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications) -- if it requests that you reboot the BB, do so.
    2) Do a Batt-Pull reboot as described above.
    3) Get a new link and install a fresh copy of AppWorld
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/appworld/download.jsp#tab_tab_download
Again, if it requests to reboot, do so.
    4) Do another Batt-Pull reboot
    5) See if it now works.
    Cheers!

  • Login problems with app world. Error ID: 30207

    Hello,
Every time I try to access my world or download an app in blackberry app world I get the following error message:
There is an issue with the current session.
    (Error Id: 30702)
I have tried battery pulls. I have tried restoring earlier backups. I have tried reinstalling app world. I don't know what else to do. I tried calling my service provider but they told me they can't do anything and I should just make a new ID, but I would like to avoid doing that.
Also, when I go to Device->Blackberry ID; I get the following message "Unable to update your BlackBerry ID account information" I don't know what to do about this problem. Someone please help me.

I'm getting a message saying app world is not available in my country (canada).

  • Problem With App World and E-mail

First of all, hello to you all and congratulations on the fantastic community you guys have here.
    Now on to my questions.
I got my Curve 8900 in June and immediately tried to download the BB AppWorld because it sounded pretty cool. However, it wouldn`t let me do so because it said my device wasn`t compatible with the AppWorld software. Granted, I only tried this from my computer, never from the BB. Well, in late July, I had to hop on a plane to South America, where I`ve been since then and will be until January. I installed the BB Software on my notebook at that point and once again, tried to install the AppWorld software. The message then changed to "Your device doesn`t meet the system requirements for the AppWorld software" or something along those lines. I have the latest Device Software, Desktop Software V. 4.7. I tried looking for answers on the RIM/Blackberry website, but found nothing (however, I feel I should mention that I gave up after the first 5-10 relevant hits on my searches), and I still want to have the AppWorld Software so I can use the Facebook App, perhaps a map application, and perhaps more of the plethora of apps I`m sure Blackberries have available to them.
Second question. I`ve looked at trying to set up my phone with my e-mail account, but every time I`ve done so, I get one option; "Set up using Blackberry Enterprise Server". I am an individual who likes his Blackberry. I do not use it for business purposes, I do not want to buy the rights to use the Enterprise Server, I do not want go through any more complex hoops just to get my Hotmail inbox on my phone. Help, please!

    Hi,
Try downloading App World directly onto the Blackberry by the Blackberry, and not via your Desktop / Laptop computer.
On the Blackberry go to the Main Menu and then select the downloads folder to see if you already have App World in there ( The round Blackberry icon ).
If not, open the Blackberry Internet Browser and go to : www.blackberry.com/appworld/download
Follow the instructions there and you should be sorted
Sorry, I don't have an answer to your E-Mail question, maybe someone else will be able to help.
If you found my answer ( or anyone else's ) to be helpful, don't forget to click the Kudos button !

  • Identity Error with App World

This Error is very common in South Africa but hopefully someone has come up with an answer now , I got the latest version of BB app world then out of no-where my contacts began deleting themselves, so I wiped everything including operating system and readded a newer version .681 and now I cant log into my appworld without it asking for the identity update .. I press YES and it brings up the Question again asking for the Identity update I press YES again then it shows the error and kicks me out , I have downloaded the older version but now it says "To continue using Appworld you must upgrade" ..
    Its hopeless wow ..

What OS are you running? All you said was .681, which is merely the 4th octet, with the first two octets telling you which section of that KB you should be following. The instructions you quoted have only to do with OS 5...
This KB may well also apply:
KB29501 "Error installing BlackBerry Identity, please try again later" when trying to install an update for BlackBerry Identity in BlackBerry App World.
There likely are others as well...you can search the public KBs to find if something exactly matches your circumstances...
    Good luck!

  • Trouble with App World!! :(

hi all, bascially whem i attempt to download apps through the App store, it tell me to log in with my blackberry ID which i do amd it then takes me to a white page with my account details on and i cant go any further... i return to the featured view and click download but the same thing happens! so i cant download/update anything.
any help will be muchly appreciated

In many cases the BlackBerry ID has not been created successfully and therefore will not let you past that screen.... go to www.blackberry.com/blackberryid and try to create a new BlackBerry ID , and then log in from the device.
Still others have been sucessful by editing to allow ALL permissions for App World.
    * Go to Options/Settings > Advanced Options > Applications, (you will see your list of all your apps on your BlackBerry)
    * Sroll down to BlackBerry App World, > Click the Menu key > Edit Permissions, and change everything to allow and save it.
Now go back to your App World login and see if it works.

  • HELP: Blackberry App World

    Hi all,
I traded in my Nokia to get a blackberry to see what all the fuss was about and after one week i must say im rather dissapointed as its just not as easy to use, anyway lets not dwell on that topic...
As you've gathered, im new to the blackberry so bare with me if this has already been dealt with. The trouble im having is with the BlackBerry App world. I just downloaded it onto my phone via a USB cable from my laptop. Once it was downloaded the phone rebooted, thinking everything went well i then started the application up (BlackBerry App World) as soon as iv opened it the message "BlackBerry App World is having trouble connecting to the BlackBerry App World Server. Verify your network connections and try again" appears everytime i try and open it. Is there something i havent done yet or something im supposed to do with connection settings? As far as my connections go...im able to use the internet browser on it so dont see why im having troubles.
Any help would be greatly appreciated so that i may fully benefit from my BlackBerry.
    Thanks.

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to use App World, and many more BlackBerry data features.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
As far as being diffcult to use, there is a steeper learning curve with a BlackBerry... You would benefit well from reading and practicing the 9700 tips from my buddy Mr. Stinsonddog (very similar to the 8520).
Look at this link for them, download and print out the PDF file and practice the tips while using your device. You'll be amazed at all the cool things your BlackBerry can do.

    Good luck.

  • Frustrated with App World

I ahve recently purchased a Q10. The App World app on the home screen will not lauch. I alos cannot access app world through google.
Can anyone tell me if a setting is blocking this access or a way to solve it. I am running 10.2.0.424
    David

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
    2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Problem with App World 4.0.55

I have just upgraded App World to version 4.0.55, and now it is not working...
I can see the icon, but selecting it doesn't appear to do anything.  Holding the BB button shows the App World icon (as an application that is already running), and this is the case even immediately after a reboot.  Selecting the running app just returns me to the home screen.
I have completely uninstalled / rebooted / reinstalled twice now, with the same result.
Any suggestions on how I might resolve this?

This is a suggestion for bb_kevin to try.
    Action 1:
Please, start DTM 7.1, connect your phone, wait for the ‘sync all’ message, click on’ Applications’, wait for the ‘apps loading’ to stop, and check if you see a ‘red star’ on the top line and maybe at the bottom a message which says: ‘OSx.0.0…………Update’.
Also verify (scroll up/dn) in the list that AW 4.0.0.55 is installed (important).
    Action 2:
If yes, go back to the hone screen of DYM 7.1 and make a full back up of your phone. Disconnect your phone and try 2 more reboots (either pull the battery for a few seconds or press ‘alt key, right shift key, and del key for 3 sec. all simultaneously if you have a keyboard).
    Action 3:
Is the AW icon now working? If not check for the ‘red star’ again. If it still there you have to make a decision. You can go back to your present or default AW version and wait for a better version to come along or clean/update your current software to get rid off this icon issue via Action 4.
    Action 4:
If you see on the bottom of the ‘Applications’ window still the ‘Update’ message click the ‘Apply’ button beside it. What will happen? This procedure stores your phone’s setting and PIM and email data and all your apps, then it erases all data, then it reinstalls your current OS software, and then reloads all the above stored data. One has to wait about 30 minutes till one get the ‘update complete’ message and then spend about another 10 minutes or so to follow all the prompts and reboots to get the phone back onto the network. Most of your third party apps will be back; other ones you need to reinstall later.
    Action 5:
If you decided to ‘update’ your current software, disconnect your phone after you got the ‘update complete’ message and follow the prompts. Since this method reinstalls your current OS it will take about 10 minutes before you get an email from your phone company saying: Your handheld has been registered with the wireless network.
Wait for this message, because if you start your AW icon to early you will not be able to update your BB ID. I you did you will see a message like: Sorry, the software update server is unavailable. Please, try again. (RIM means, after you are back on your carriers network). Also, make sure your phone's radio is turned on after disconnecting from the PC.
    Summary:
The above actions worked for my Torch 9800 running currently bundle 3049 and app platform version 6.6.0.246. I also experienced other issues in trying to install AW v.3.1.x.x and v. 4.0.0.x like:
missing AW icon to launch the app
    Uncaught exception java.lang.Error
App World requires the latest version of BlackBerry ID.
Sorry, the software update server is unavailable. Please, try again
BlackBerry Identity installation failed. Please try again later. (80002)
If you don’t see a ‘red star’ on the first line of your apps list but are stuck on one of the above listed AW v.55 issues let me know in a response to this thread and I will suggest another way of doing an update avoiding the 'wipe way' of reinstalling the current OS.
    Tip:
I deleted my PayPal app before I did the ‘Update’. I reinstalled the PayPal app after v.55 was running and had no issues with this app so far.
I hope this is not too much writing but these issues and errors are in RIM’s court for quite some time and
this method worked best for my phone. Maybe, for yours too. Good luck.
