Help with ASP form mail code PLEASE

Hello
I am SOOooo close to this form mail code working correctly.
It is correctly sending the forms info to the form owner via
an email.
The only problem is it also sends an email as soon as the
page spawns and before the form is filled out. (with just the
labels of course)
Could someone PLEASE take a look and tell me specifically
what to change? Trying to woo the boss!

Help with GMAIL in Mail Program....

Hi,
I am using the Apple Mail Program in Leopard and just picked up a Gmail account. I want to set up my Gmail account on 4 different computers work/home/laptop) that I access all the time and am hoping I can set it up so that wherever I check my mail it looks more or less like it does on Gmail.com with respect to the emails:
1. All mail that I've deleted on another computer is gone from all the other computers when checking mail on those other computers. Is that possible??? Currently, I use a bellsouth.net account and a .mac account, and when I log on to any of the computers via the mail program, it gives me all of my 'new mail', whether or not it was deleted on another computer.
2. Sent mail. Is there any way to send it on one computer's Mail program and have it show up in my Sent box on the other computers?
3. Ditto on Trash and other folders
I did try to set it up my Gmail account using IMAP but I thendeleted the account on Mail because it looked 'weird'. I had a Mailbox in my Inbox for the Gmail account and then also another whole separate, duplicate Gmail account (with All Mail, Drafts, Sent Mail, Spam, Starred, and Trash Folders) further down the left side of mail. In testing an email to gmail account from my .mac account, the mail ended up in two places in my Mail and deleting one did not delete the others.
If this cannot work, I can just go to gmail.com. BUT, I so love MAIL that I am hoping there is a fix to all this.

My recollection is that unless you are a paid Hotmail account member, you cannot use Mail. Do a search within the discussion group, as I am not an expert, but I recall not getting Hotmail for that very reason.
Perhaps give gmail a try.....

In a situation such as yours, I tend to consolidate items into folders so I have folders of nice workable numbers of images, somewhere between 20 and 200 images. Now, whatever, once you've imported, do your moving within LR, not the OS! I will select all in a folder and drag into a folder a level or two or three above, and then delete the newly empty subfolders. I hope this helps a bit!
Once you've reached just new Imports of camera output, you'll be flying along.

Help with xfa-form

I am a developer (VB6 ASP),
Please, I need to know, What I need to populate/read an xfa-form, that was created for another company.
I do not know what is the tool that I need to investigate, or a component. (the pdf form it was created with liveCycle)
The original empty pdf form is in xfa-form and I need fill in and the resulted file is delivered to another person that stamp digital signature,
I can fill this pdf form manually with adobe reader 9, but i need this task programmatically.
has any idea for this?

for example,
1- I download this pdf from an external site,
2- I have to pre-populate with 2 Fields that I obtain from my Database,
3- I embed this pdf file in aspx page(ASP.NET)
4- the user 1 must put their signature.
4- the user 2 must put their signature.

I saw code that manipulate programmatically .xdp files with pdf forms, but I do not know if I can manipulate this pdf that I have attached, please, could you help me, If in theory I Can do that?

Help with OSX server mail setup

Please if anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong, I would be very grateful. I have a company with an externaly hosted website and an an internally hosted email (OSX server). I have everything kind of working, but some things don't seem quite right. I'll explain below:
I have a purchased domain: mycompany.com hosted by godaddy.
I am using Godaddy name servers: ns65.domaincontrol.com and ns66.domaincontrol.com
The external godaddy DNS has an a name entry for my mail server: mail pointing to 123.123.123.123 (which is my companies external static IP address).
There is also a null (@) a name record for my website hosting service (squarespace) pointing to 456.456.456.456
There is a cName record www pointing to the squarespace domain "www.squarespace6.com" (know this is unusual, but it is how squarespace asks this to be set up and does not work otherwise)
There is an MX record with priority 10 and host name @ pointing to mail.mycompany.com
I have a airport extreme router with the appropriate ports forwarded to the OSX server.
The DNS servers on the router are pointed to the internal IP address of the OSX server
I did not change the domain name on the router (mistake?) it is currently san.rr.com
On the OSX server I have set up host name to be mycompany.comDNS is set up with primary zone being mycompany.com
Primary Zone entries include
nameserver = mycompany.com
machine record host name is mycompany.com and the IP address is the internal IP address of the OSX server
another machine record with host name "mail" and IP address is the internal IP address of the OSX server.
Finally, there is a mail exchanger record with mail server "mail.mycompany.com" and priority 10
There are 2 entries autocreated in the Reverse zone
Mail is setup and running on the OSX server providing mail for "mail.mycompany.com"
Users are setup with email address: [email protected] (note: without the mail subdomain - I think this is OK?)
I am using self signed certificate.
In my clients (windows Thunderbird, Mac Mail, iOS mail), the settings are for the incoming mail server host name to be "mail.mycompany.com" and the outgoing also to be "mail.mycompany.com"
I woud have expected this to be imap.mycompany.com and smtp.mycompany.com respectively, but it doesn't work when I input these values and works with the former. Have I set this up wrong?? imap seems to require SSL on port 993 and SMTP seems to require TLS on port 587.Outlook on PC gives me an error that after googling appears to be a problem with not recognizing a fuly qualified hostname form the SMTP client. I see the fix, but wanted to know if that meant that my server didn't have a fully qualified host name and whether I should change that rather than just remove that restriction???
The final problem is that my outgoing emails seem to be getting caught up in other people's spam filters too frequently. What is the main reason for this? Is it because I have set something up wrong and it brings up flags or is it simply because I am not a huge hosting company, or somethign else althogether?

Well, actually they are both getting caught up in spam filters and bounced back. I actually realized that part of the problem is that I have a dynamic IP address, but it doesn't change. Regardless, on the bounce back it looks like hotmail and other domains are rejecting email from my IP and recognize it as dynamic. This was a test server that i would by physically taking to my business where there is a static business IP address (Cox).
Sorry for the very long original message, but it seems that most people don't post enough information for the problem to be solved in their original posts and I was hoping to provide as much detail as possible.
The other is the question of "are things set up right?" It seems strange to me that both my outgoing and incoming servers are "mail.mycompany.com" and not imap.mycompany.com and smtp.mycompany.com and I wonder if this is going to cause me to have problems?
Is it a problem that my email addresses are [email protected] and not [email protected]?
Was I supposed to change the domain name on the router?
Also is it going to be a problem that I am using a self signed certificate?

Help with MM_editCmd.CreateParameter insert syntax please

In the past (I guess older ASP version maybe?), the
automatically generated code that DW created using the "insert
record" wizard allowed for easy editing and debugging within the
SQL. I just installed CS3 and created a similar page and the code
used to build the insert statement is quite different.
Unfortunately, I'm not versed well enough in it yet!
I can see how the SQL insert is being built:

Just can't get the SQL text to display. Is the SQL insert
statement not stored as a variable that i can call?

You can use the concatenate() function to build up your string, as you no doubt know.
As far as the wildcard goes ... your intention must be to try to SET the call variable and later on test the call variable with an IF node. Is that right?
You would be able to test parts of the string using the substr() function - which is based on character position. If that is a fixed value that you know, it's easy. If it's not, you can first use the find() function to locate something (like the "_9"), returning the position, and then use the substr() function to pull it off.
Can you write some pseudo-code here to define exactly your intention? You can set up a dummy script and send a dummy call through using Call Tracer and watch the output to see how your code is working.

HELP WITH A FORM

Ok here is the problem,
I am trying to make a form in my existing fla document and
the form will not function.
I have created the form and used the exact same php script in
a seperate flash movie and the form worked fine but I can not get
it to work in my existing fla.
I would reall appreciate any help with this issue.....

Help with Login Form (JSP DB Java Beans Session Tracking)

Hi, I need some help with my login form.
The design of my authetication system is as follows.
1. Login.jsp sends login details to validation.jsp.
2. Validation.jsp queries a DB against the parameters received.
3. If the query result is good, I retrieve some information (login id, name, etc.) from the DB and store it into a Java Bean.
4. The bean itself is referenced with the current session.
5. Once all that's done, validation.jsp forwards to main.jsp.
6. As a means to maintain state, I prefer to use url encoding instead of cookies for obvious reasons.I need some help from step 3 onwards please! Some code snippets will do as well!
If you think this approach is not a good practice, pls let me know and advice on better practices!

Help with web form script. PHP, CGI, Perl???

anyone willing to help with a web form script? I have a form built, but cant seem to figure out the scripting! Should I be using Perl, CGI, PHP... What do I need to enable? I am a complete novice when it comes to scripts. Looking for a little friendly help.

Here is a simple bit of PHP to stick in the page your form posts to. You would need to edit the first three variables to your liking, and add the html you want to serve afterwards:

This script will grab the server's date and the submitter's address and browser type. It will then list the name and value of each form field you have put on your form.
Also, this script expects your form method="post".
Lastly, you can offer alternate text later on in your html page based on the success of the above script with a snippet like this:

Help with multiple forms

I'm new to the forums (and Java!) so please forgive me if this has already been asked or is a stupid question.
I'm using the Netbeans IDE to create a series of forms that collect user input. The project is a similar to a "wizard" that asks a series of questions, collects the user input, then performs a query on a database based on the user provided answers to the questions.
I assume that each question should be displayed on a new form, and when the user clicks "next", the data is added to an ArrayList until the wizard is complete. There are around 10-15 steps in this wizard (I know, it seems long but that's what my boss wants!), and I've drawn all the forms as separate .java files with JFrames in Netbeans.
I also have one wizard.java file that has a main() method and creates a wizard object that has an ArrayList used to store the data, and a get() and set() method to access the ArrayList.
The problem is when an action is performed on each of the steps' "next" button, I am trying to add to the ArrayList belonging to the wizard object. The compiler is complaining about it though. I think there's a problem with scope, but I really don't know for sure. I've butchered my code trying to figure out a way to do this. I come from a procedural programming background, and objects and interaction between classes just isn't making much sense to me.
Any ideas and help are greatly appreciated!!

I have have made a few wizards in my time as a freelancer and had it up to here with coding around JSP forms that I settled for a forms generation framework. There are a few out there that you might want to look at the next time you have to build web forms for your JSP application.
Creating multipage forms, and generating form elements should no longer be a heavy duty task. All forms do only 1 thing, and that's to collect user input.
A library like Formular (http://formular.redeye.no) or Devsphere Mapping Framework (http://www.devsphere.com/mapping/) should do the trick.
I personally like the way Formular handles wizards and takes care of all the navigation between screens. The other advantage of Formular is of course that you do not bloat your JSP with form handling code that would handle preselection of checkboxes and radio buttons, looping through arrays to generate option tags, displaying exceptions and form messages, etc.

Help with PDF form responses

Hey there!
I have two issues with online form data collection and am completely stumped. It's a real struggle to find useful documentation for Acrobat forms!
#1 - I have created a form uploaded it to Acrobat.com, and have been able to collect test form data. In the local responses portfolio, I'm able to use the 'Update' button to bring the latest form data into the portfolio. But I would like to have a colleague be responsible for monitoring the form data and we're running into problems. He's able to open the portfolio and has full access, however the 'Update' button is greyed out so he is unable to bring in new form data. We've already updated his 'Acrobat.com' username/password in Acrobat preferences to match mine, but still no luck. Any help?
#2 - Some computers are having issues with electronic submission. My best guess is that this is to do with Acrobat versions, as the issues all seem to come from computers where the form is completed using Acrobat Reader 8. The form was created with Pro 9, and form submission works for both Pro 9 and also Reader 9. Is there something I can do here? (And yes I know that it's a free upgrade to 9, but 8 is still in the official build for our organisation and I don't really have time to wait for them to complete an upgrade!)

I use Ipower for my hosting. I see they use sendmail and the path on the server is - /usr/sbin/sendmail. Would this work?
The way I would like this to work would be:
1) I e-mail the PDF form to the client
2) Client opens and fills in the form
3) They hit submit and the form information eventually gets e-mailed to my business e-mail
I chose to use the HTTP method instead of e-mail because the PDF form says it can not be saved and if the client uses an internet beased e-mail like Yahoo it gets kind of messy.
But, does the HTTP delivery method make it more difficult since this is not embedded in a website?

Livecycle design 8 Help with PDF forms

I am new to Livecycle 8. I have created a simple PDF form in Livecycle 8 which was orignally an excel form. I set it up with a submit button to submit by email to a designated person. The form is housed on an internal web site for viewers with adobe reader to open and fill out and then submit by email. The goal is for the designated receiver to receive the the same PDF form with the information filled out by the previous viewer. I was successful with the form being emailed to the designated person as long as the peson submitting the form was using adobe professional. If the viewer only has adobe reader, the form would not submit to the designated receiver. Please help?

Reader does not allow a local save of the form and data by default. To be able to add the attachment o an email message a local save must occur. You can Reader Extend your form to allow for this. Open th eform in Acrobat Pro. Under the Advanced menu choose the "Extend Features in Adobe Reader". Follow the wizard and save the result PDF as a different name ....I like to put RE in the name so I know it is Reader Extended. Try the new file.

Help with ASP Connections - New User

I just set up a hosting account with 1 and 1 for a simple
website to catalog a series of yo-yo contest that we coordinate. I
have a simple MS Access database for organizing contest information
that we are trying to get online.
I am new to the application side of this and know very little
about connection strings, DSN, etc. I am experiencing problems with
connecting to the MS Access database that I have uploaded to the
1and 1 servers. If I hardcode the Javascript into the page, I can
connect and pull information but I definitely want to take
advantage of the design interface that Dreamweaver MX 2004 offers.
This is the code from the page that I can get working based

If I put in a "Custom Connection String" using the previous

Tap your finger on one of them and hold it there until you see all your Apps start to wiggle. You will also see a small x in the upper right hand corner of the Apps you can delete. Go ahead and tap this to delete the App. When you are finished, hit the Home button to make the Apps stop wiggling. It might also help to have a look at your iPod's *User Guide.

Help with Flex preloading and transitions please

I downloaded and installed Flex Builder 3, and I think I have
my slideshow project about 75% finished. It's the last 25% that I
can't figure out, regarding preloading and transitions. Can someone
take a look at the code below and see if you can help me? I tried
to write the code in such a way that you can debug it from any
computer as it's calling an PHP/XML file and images that are on a
server.
Here's what's finished...
1. PHP file looks at image files on server and builds XML
file.
2. Flex app calls PHP file and traverses the XML in the
response.
3. Flex app figures out how many "slides" there and displays
the slides one at a time, each slide with 3 images, with a 5 second
delay between "slides."
Here's what's not finished...
1. I would like a fade-out to white at the end of each slide,
and a fade-in from white at the beginning of each slide.
2. I need each slide to stay put intil the next slide is
pre-loaded. That is, during the 5 seconds that a slide is
displayed, the next 3 images need to be preloaded, and then the
slide should not progress to the next until slide is completely
loaded.
3. The very first slide should not appear until it is
completely loaded, and when it does appear, it should fade in from
white.
How do I do this?!? Please help! Here's the code...

What you've done is beyond my capabilities, as of now. But, I
ran into the same problem with the fading in and out of the photos.
Here's my solution.
I defined my fade with only the id and the duration
parameters. No 'from' and 'to'.
Then I used the 'showEffect' and 'hideEffect' parameters.
showEffect="{bannerFade}" hideEffect="{bannerFade}"
Works like a charm for my project.
