Help with ATT email setup. Was working fantastic but can no longer send or receive email.
I have been having problems with sending and receiving emails on both my macbook and my Ipad using my att.net email for over a month. I didn't change any of the original settings when that happened but after trying to fix it after scouring the internet for help I have my settings like this on my Ipad. Actually I have two separate ones trying to get either to work.
First one: Yahoo!
Outgoing mail server - SMTP Yahoo!SMPT Server
under advanced Primary serve - Yahoo! SMTP Server On
I can't find anyplace else to change the settings.
If I am missing a place to go, please explain exactly how I find it.
Second one:"my user name"@att.net
Imap Account info
Host Name Inbound.att.net
Username: "[email protected]"

I think it is imap although I have used pop, also. The error message i get is:
SMPT:"email address"@[email protected] is not correct.
I don't know where it is drawing that from. I'm willing to eliminate all ATT associated accounds on my ipad and begin again if someone can help me get it set up correctly. I have all these mac products so i can seemlessly work on all my devices. Right now, I'm not a happy camper.
I am having similar problems with my MacBook Pro so if there is someone outthere that is using ATT as their email address and using it successful on their Apple devices, I would sure appreciate any help I can get. BTW, ATT help line is useless on this.

I don't know if this is a corrupted preference file or not, but it sure can't hurt to try this.
If Mail is open, Quit Mail.
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Drag that .plist file to the Desktop. Launch Mail and see if you can send or receive e-mail. If you can, that .plist file is corrupted. Drag it to the trash, empty the trash and reboot. Your Mac will create a new preference file for you the next time you launch Mail.
Also... run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. Disk Utility is in your Applications/Utilities folder. Launch DU, select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, click Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.

The error I see is you did not specify the proper authentication for the smtp server.
In the Mail preferences for the account, smtp popup, select Edit SMTP Server List. A sheet will drop down. Select Advanced tab on that sheet. You should, I assume, set the Authentication to password, and set the proper username and password. That's where the poper would be set if 587 is not the one you should be using. Maybe it is. I only bring it up since I see it trying to use port 587.
If you got this stuff already set correctly then I don't know. Mail has a problem in your setup. Maybe delete the account and recreate it from scratch.

Can no longer send or receive email from any account after Security Update
Hello,
I have a problem with my email in Mail. I let software update install the latest security update (007) a few days ago. I have not been able to send or receive my email since the update. I have several accounts and use Mail as my client for all. This includes my mac.com account, 3 att.net accounts and my website email. All give me the same error which is an SSL thing and has something to do with the certificates. I am able to receive email if I turn SSL off on the ATT accounts but not the mac.com (and if I try to collect my email with SSL off I get an angry message from ATT warning me I am not allowed to do so) and I cannot send any at all from any account.
The error message reads "unable to connect- there may be a problem with the mail server or network.... The server error encountered was: Mail was unable to verify the identity of this server, which has a certificated issued to "mail.mac.com". The error was: An SSL error occured while trying to read data from the server. Verify this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct". It then states that the certificate could not be verified.
The certificate date on the mac.com account reads May, 29th , 2010.
I also have an iMac and a MacBook Pro which are also running Tiger. I have not and will not run the security update on these machines until I find out why it has messed up my email on the G5. I can still send and receive email with the exact same account settings on the MacBook so I know it is not the settings but something to do with the Security Update.

This IS the 64 bit version of iTunes! It won't recognize my phone! I've reinstalled iTunes, restarted both the computer and the phone, and still can't fix it!
What computer do you have? is it 32 or 64 bit operating system?

SMS is a carrier feature, what did your phone carrier say when you contacted them about your issue?

Help, I can no longer send/receive images in messenger on my iphone 4
I have noticed that I can no longer send or receive images in messenger on my phone since the first IOS 7 update. Now i'm noticing that I can not send/receive anything other than text. Also, I can not receive the messages that are sent to a group, which is bad since my boss only sends group messages when we are closed for weather.
I have updated to the latest IOS 7.0.6 tonight but not sure what to do to start sending images again. I would really like to be able to share some of my pics with others and not have to post them to facebook. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much for your time.

Bell Aliant has changed to smtpa port 2225, I'm configured correctly but can no longer send. They do not support Thunderbird. I can receive fine.

I have an iphone 4s unlocked with att prepaid plan (non-contract), everything was working perfect BUT since i update to IOS6 i can not send MMS to anybody has Android, i went to att technical center they said only apple store can fix the problem, i went to Apple store MANY times they could not fix it, so they gave me a new iphone 4s and they said they fixed it but they did not,iam so mad that's not fair, can somebody help me please.
The nice thing about owning this overpriced POS is that Apple not only doesn't support it, but also doesn't want to hear about anything negative regarding it. So I spoke to the so-called "support" people at Apple who successfully screwed up my contacts beyond repair. I got a nice email from Apple asking me to rate the support I got. I was actually civil and described the issue tactfully. What do I get in return? Nothing. Not a damned thing!! You're luck you've got me by the short hairs on a 2 year contract but I'm still tempted to throw this POS through the front window of the nearest Apple store!! Not only will I be replacing this phone with a competitive product but I won't be buying anymore Apple crap. I guess when you con 27 million people into believing your rhetoric and sales lies, you don't have to care whether some customers get screwed or not. I'll be going back to Verizon and threatening legal action if they don't take this electronic dung heap back but I'm sure the teams of lawyers Apple and Verizon have on staff have insured that I have no rights in this matter and you're free to screw me anytime you please. Sad. I used to love Apple as a company and your products. Now you're just another Microsoft with more trendy looking junk. I've had it with you. Could you help me with an app situation? We purchased several codes for Splashtop to install on our iPad 2's. It was working great but now that we upgraded the OS they have disappeared. The codes that we purchased are giving us an error that they have already been used. So far it has only been 2 iPads.
Any solutions?The compiler is highlighting the areas you got wrong, although the error messages are somewhat confusing.
Error 1: NSLog is a function and needs to be called as such, see e.g. the circleArea call on the line above. Functions are called using the function-name with its arguments in paratheses e.g. foo(12, 13).
Error 2: looks like a typo, defining a function is done as function-name(... <arguments> ...) { ... <body> ...}. In your code there is a ";" between the arguments and the body that should not be there, you probably copy pasted it from the forward declaration at the top of the source codde file. -
Hi, my Ipad was working fine but if I try to send an email, a note pops up that my email address has been rejected by the server, what does this mean? I am still receiving emails and can access websites through Safari.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Here is the code I am working on...I tried adding what you said to the document. The email is
not given when the form opens in the browser but is passed via the
form after it is filled out and submited. The email value should be
whatever the person adds to the email textbox. Again this was
working yesterday but has since stopped after I migrated my files
into a trunk directory in SVN.

Hello I have a problem with a Wifi Survey app, this app is from Access Agility, however this app was working fine, but without advise stop of working, I tried to open again, but app be close after few seconds. Every time that I tried to open it, in diagnostic and use create some files, in special one named LatestCrash-WifiSurvey.plist, this one generate an incident identifier E73B0164-CDFA-4E9E-839E-A0C021BD17A2, but this incident identifier change every time that I tried to open, the last incident identifier is: DE600EB3-AB57-4C33-8DE8-71F6788A7441.
After of it, I checked that the app had a new version available for downloading, I took a backup of my ipad and then upgrade this app, but is the same problem, all I want is to save the projects I had in this app, I´m afraid that if I delete this app and re-install it, probably I loss my projects.
Thanks for your help indicating how I can save my projects and see them for example in an iphone for assurance that data is not lost.
Something that called my attention is part of the log that shows a big CPU processing, but the strange thing is I killed all applications.

Only the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Sounds like the phone was hacked to unlock it originally. Find out what carrier it is locked to, and look up their contact information using google or the search engine of your choice.

Hi Forum, can u please help? iRecently bought a macbook pro and garageband 11 was working fine but now it's showing a question mark in the dock and it won't open. How did you install GarageBand on your Mac? Did it come preinstalled with the other iLife applications?
If your MacOS supports the AppStore, you should be able to redownload GarageBand from the AppStore, see this support Article: OS X: About OS X Recovery on how to download again:
Double-click the App Store icon in the dock.
Enter your Apple ID and password.
Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your Lion based computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.
