Help with audiobooks and iPod

I downloaded/installed the applescript from Doug's Applescripts for iTunes to convert audio CD's to audiobooks in iTunes. Things went well until I synced the new audiobooks to my iPod. Below are the two major problems I've experienced.
1. I had 3 books in my iTunes Library which were converted and made bookmarkable using Doug's applescript . As promised the books showed up in the audiobooks of iTunes. They appeared correctly (alphabetically by book title) in iTunes. However, the books were all scrambled together after being synced to my iPod. That is I had about 30 Track 1's, (3 books, 10 disks each), then 30 Track 2's, 30 Track 3's, etc. all the way through to 30 Track 99's. What did I do wrong, or did i skip a step somewhere, and how to I correct this so that I can listen to the books?
2. The sound quality is poor. The sound is scratchy - it sounds like you are listening to an old worn out record on a turn table. Any suggestions to clear up the noise?
3. If there is no fix for the above issues, how to I convert the books back to their original form, so that they will show in the Music playlist section of the iTunes library.

Hey, I have a question along similar veins. This is driving me a bit crazy.
How do I separate my various audio books into their separate folders just like how it is automatically done for music?
Right now I have a big list of all of my audio book files, and the only sorting option is apparently alphabetic.
1. Is there a way to separate these into albums based on the album info field? I tried this and it doesn't work.
2. Is there a way to sort and play these files based on the track number and not alphabetically? I tried track field and that didn't work either.

If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Click on the chevron > to the left of the iPod icon in the Source list. This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the traditional song view with the information at the bottom.

Need help with Itunes and IPod Shuffle

I have the latest updates for both Itunes and the IPod Shuffle. I have Itunes on two different PCs, one for the wife and one for myself. I got a new Nano and gave my wife the Shuffle I had and she gave her shuffle to a friend. Everything has worked just fine in the past. When she plugged in my shuffle it asked if she wanted to sync to this PCs library and she said yes. Everything went fine except that no files will copy to the shuffle. It seems to take a VERY long time to sync as well. I tried dragging a song or a playlist but it just sits in sync mode for a long time and then when it's done there is no music on the shuffle. I don't understand the problem. When I attach the shuffle to my PC it asks if I want to sync to the library and everything works, files transfer, no problem. Putting back on her PC and going through the resync business again results in the same situation. Help!

Shuffles are only designed to sync with one PC. Connect it to your PC and restore it to factory settings. Eject it. When your wife connects it to her PC, it should get recognized.

I need help with photos and iPod

I put a bunch of my pictures on my iPod to view them. They were saved onto an external harddrive, which is now dead. How can I get the pictures from my iPod back onto my computer?

I need help with itunes and ipod on my phone

ok so for as long as ive had my phone ive downloaded and bought music from my itunes on my phone. well this past year ive bought 5 new songs. i can find them in my ipod or on my purchased items, i get recipts sent to me from itunes but have not succesfully heard the songs how do i fix this. ive spent $15 or more. for nothing. can someone help me. or tell me how i can get my money back.

On the receipt there should be a "Report a Problem" link. Click that and let iTunes support know your situation, they can resolve this for you.

Itunes will work, slowly, until i plug pod in and then it sync's for about 10 secs and then every program running freezes. Itunes refuses to respond, cant close or open additional applications, can move external windows but they leave a ghost accross the screen.
i have done all the 5 R's to Pod, reinstalled itunes 3 times and run a virus scan twice - im at witts end, i hope someone can help. I have over 2000 songs on itunes and i cant do anything with them or my pod.

my computer crashed and I lost everything. However, all my music is on my ipod. How do I transfer my music from my ipod to itunes. I transfered all my purchased music but how do I put in all the music I added from cd's?????? I do not want to loose all the music I added because I don't have most of the cd's anymore. What do I do? Please can someone help......I am a complete novice with itunes and ipod and i seem to be having some difficulty....I have managed to download all my music into itunes and have also managed to sync the music to my ipod however everytime I try and add new songs it 'syncs' the complete library again and as I have so many songs it takes a very long time to sync (about 35 mins). I have tried setting up a playlist and just ssyncing the playlist however then all the other music disaapears from my ipod and only the few songs in the playlist remain. Does itunes have to sync everything everytime I plug my ipod in? Is there anyway that I can keep all my music on my ipod and just add new songs and not have to sync the whole library time after time? I would really appreciate some help. I have tried the online tutorials but they are not answering my question

Depending on the size of your library, memory, processor speed etc, iTunes can spend a long time deciding which tracks might need to be updated on the iPod but unless something has gone wrong it should then only copy new or updated tracks and delete those you have removed from your library. My almost full 160gb iPod has just taken about 20 mins to sync, with only the last minute or so being used to transfer ~100 updated files.
If all your files are being copied each time you sync then I suspect the iPod library is getting corrupted. One possible cause for this is an irritating feature called write-behind caching. It could be that when you eject the iPod, iTunes decides it's finished and asks for the device to be disconnected when Windows still has data to write to the disk.
*Disable write-behind caching*
Right-click on your iPod in *My Computer* and select Properties and then the tab that says Hardware. Highlight the selection that says *Apple iPod USB Device* and select Properties. Under the tab that says Policies make sure that *Optimize for quick removal* is checked.
While I would generally recommend auto-sycning if it is not working well for you then you might try switching to the manually manage option in which case you get to control manually which tracks are added to or removed from the iPod. This can be a much faster way to add a few tracks but makes it much harder to keep information in the iTunes & iPod libraries in step.

Help with writing and retrieving data from a table field with type "LCHR"

Hi Experts,
I need help with writing and reading data from a database table field which has a type of "LCHR". I have given an example of the original code but don't know what to change it to in order to fix it and still read in the original data that's stored in the LCHR field.
Basically we have two Function modules, one that saves list data to a database table and one that reads in this data. Both Function modules have an identicle table which has an array of fields from type INT4, CHAR, and type P. The INT4 field is the first one.
Incidentally this worked in the 4.7 non-unicode system but is now dumping in the new ECC6 Unicode system.

The unicode flag is active.
When I run our report and then to try and save the list data a dump is happening at the following point
LOOP AT T_TAB into L_WA.
As I say, T_TAB consists of different fields and field types whereas L_WA is CHAR 800. The dump mentions UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE
When I try to load a saved list the dump is happening at the following point
APPEND T_DATA-RAWDATA to T_TAB.
T_DATA-RAWDATA is type LCHR and T_TAB consists of different fields and field types.
In both examples the dumps mention UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE

Whenever you have a problem, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) from all tables involved.
Also post the results you want from that data, and an explanation of how you get those results from that data, with specific examples.

You said you wanted "Help with count and sum". I see the COUNT, but what do you want with SUM? No doubt this will be clearer after you post the sample data and results.

Help with audiobook

Hello,
I have an audiobook on CD and just tranferred it to itunes. It took me forever to transfer the tracks from the music to audiobook folder because i had to do it one track at a time by converting each file. anyways, now I'm having two more problems:
1. When I listen to the book on itues it leaves off the last 3-4 seconds of a track and starts playing then next track.
2. When I try to listen on my ipod, it stops after every track instead of going straight into the next one.

What device did you buy and download it on, and you're sure that it's not on it ? If on your computer's iTunes then does the other part show/download via the Store > Check For Available Downloads. If on an iOS device then the other part doesn't show in the Downloads tab in the iTunes store app, and hasn't finished downloading yet ?
If not then try contacting iTunes Support via the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history (audiobooks are currently a one-time only download, so they will either need to refund or grant you a re-download) : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that audiobook and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

Multiple problems with itunes and ipod touch

I don't even know where to begin explaining all the problems I've had with itunes and my ipod touch, along with the troubleshooting that I've done to no avail. Now, I'm totally frustrated. So, here I am hoping that I can get some help from someone. I spent almost $400 for my ipod touch and don't want to have to give up on it.
First, in case you need to know, I have the latest version of iTunes (10.2.2.14), an iPod Touch. My Windows edition is Windows Vista with Service Pack 2. My system has the following:
     Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard Company
     Model: m9150f
     Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU   Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
     Memory (RAM): 3.00 GB
     System type: 32-bit Operating System
Next, in order to simplify what I have to say, I'll just briefly tell you what problems I've encountered, what I've done, and the results:
     1.     iPod not displayed in Computer when plugged into USB port
     2.     no device displayed in iTunes
     3.     unable to sync music and photos from my computer to iPod
     4.     have gone through and completed all troubleshooting two times to no avail
     5.     lost all settings and apps on my iPod and can't restore and/or retrieve them (my fault for erasing the info)
     6.     can't get iTunes to recognize(?) my iPod, after plugging it into the the USB port, in order to possibly restore it to working order
If I haven't provided enough info, please let me know.
I'll appreciate any help that you can give in order to resolve these issues.
