Help With Audition CS6: Adding windows sound to accompany USB Mic

Hey Guys,
I have a Blue Yeti USB microphone that I wil be using to create a podcast with a friend over skype. When I am setting up audition cs6 I cannot seem to get the USB mic AND skype audio to be recording at the same time. Is this because I do not have a dedicated sound card, or is there something else I am missing?
On a side note, when I set the multitrack to the stereo mix, it says that there are two different types of audio signals and wont record.

The other common gotcha is wifi - some systems manage to give a massively high priority to wifi polling, and sometimes just turning it off completely is the only way to get any sort of performance at all. I must say though that lately this doesn't seem to have been anything like as much of an issue as it used to be back in the bad old days...
But, if you have badly stuttering playback, then it sounds as though your HD streaming isn't working as it should, and that something else is getting priority access to the drive - which is sometimes where virus scans can catch you out. You really do need to stop pretty much everything unnecessary running, one way or another. And get an external sound device that uses ASIO - this effectively bypasses most of the OS, and gives Audition pretty direct access to the device.

I have Audition CS6 running on Windows 8 and everything seems to be working well, but I need a new interface. I was wondering if the MBox (3rd Gen) would work? I searched around everywhere and haven't been able to find an answer. I also tried to find some way to get a hold of Adobe directly to ask this question...but they really don't make it easy. We've been asked about this before, and the answer is... it depends. The problem is that this is made by the firm that owns ProTools, and they are notorious for not wanting their hardware to work as well as it might with other DAWs. Given a free choice, and bearing in mind that there are any number of other hardware devices on the market that are known to work fine with Audition, I'm not really sure why anybody would purchase anything from that company nowadays unless they wanted it specifically to be able to work with PT.
If you can specify what you want to be able to do with your interface, and how much you are prepared to spend on it, we can almost certainly come up with better suggestions.

Can no longer find Audition 3.0 Windows Sound

I have been using Audition 3.0 for quite some time. I use ASIO4all v2 audio driver most of the time and on occasion when I need to have more than one stream of audio at the same time recording something playing from the web) I switch to the Audition 3.0 Windows sound driver for direct sound. For some reason it (Audition 3.0 Windows sound) dissapeared from the driver selection box under audio hardware setup. According to device manager the sound card drivers are all installed and working properly. If I uninstall the ASIO driver and try to restart Audition, it says that it cannot find an audio device. When Audition is closed my system is running the realtek sound card driver and not the ASIO4all v2. For some reason it appears that audition cannot see the stock driver. Everything else on my system seems to be running normally.
Any advice on what to do would be appreciated as I have a lot of custom presets, so I would not like to uninstall and reinstall unless absolutely necessary.

If you go to the uninstaller, you'll find that there's a 'repair' option that does pretty much what it says on the tin. If you are running the 3.0.1 patch, you may have to re-run it afterwards - probably best to do this anyway. If you haven't installed the patch, then you should!

You do not need to involve Creative Cloud to install/try the trial version of CS5...
You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

Publishing air apps with native extension with Flash CS6 on Windows

Hi all,
is there any trick to publish air apps with Flash CS6 on Windows?
I tried all native extensions from devnet, but nothing work to me.
I read on Mac is possibility to specify the iOS SDK folder in publish
settings, but on Windows it´s missing.
Is there anybody who has some experiences with publishing apps
with native extensions for iOS and Android with windows Flash CS6?

I sympathize. I recently found a native alert for iOS and Android that's working with Flash CS6 on Windows with AIR 3.2.0.2070 but not AIR 3.2.0.2060. You can get the ANE here:

Help needed in getting my Alesis Multimix Firewire 16 to work with Audition CS6

I've just bought a new Fujitsu AH 532 Lifebook Laptop with a Windows 8, 64 bit OS. I've installed my Adobe Audition CS6 on it and I've connected my Alesis Multimix 16 Firewire to it via my StarTech 34mm Firewire Express Card which has a Texas Instrument Chipset. AA CS6 sees the mixer but only allows a stereo track input but it also does not want to record. I've attached some images of the audio channel mapping, audio hardware setup, and also the multitrack recording view. Also I'm using the Alesis Windows 7 driver for the mixer. You will also see that I cannot select the sample rate in the audio hardware setup panel, the sample rate is stuck on zero. In the multitrack view there's no signal when I press the record button.
All suggestions and help will be highly appreciated.

I don't see any mention of Windows 8 - maybe nothing?
Just a thought - why not try the asio4all driver just to see if it makes a difference?

Help with HP d145 on Windows PC. Specific error messages. iFelix help!

My HP is connected to a windows xp system on my home network. When I try to add it to the Mac (I have enabled windows sharing on the PC), it shows up. When I try generic printingw (no d145 driver), I get this message when I try to print "Connection failed with error NTSTATUS_NOMEMORY"
At the suggestion of a few people on the g5 board, I added the d145 driver Foomatic/HPIJS and specifically added it the printer list as the hpd145. However, now I get the following error
"Unable to connect to SAMBA host, will retry in 60 seconds...foomatic-rip version $Revision 3.43.2.9"

In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
If you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
1. Navigate to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
2. Copy any and all DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop and then zip up these files.
3. Upload the zip containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply. Preferred sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers, download managers, etc.
4 (optional): The type of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel-Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference
between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel-Dumps in the simplest definition is a Kernel-Dump contains
much more information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel-Dump is the best
choice. Do note that Kernel-Dumps are much larger in size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
If you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:

After doing that, to learn how to share the link to the file if you are unaware, please visit the following link -
Share files and folders and change permissions and view 'Get a link'.
Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUpUtilities, CCleaner, etc, by default will delete .DMP files upon use. With this said, if you've run such software, you will need to allow the system to crash once again to generate a crash dump.
If your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all
drives'.
3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system
log'.
Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:
Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than
Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.
If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.

Is anyone running CC with Encore CS6 in Windows 8?

I won't re-hash the angst or that the FAQ states that Encore won't be supported past Windows 7 SP1. So theoretically, even a Windows 7 patch to SP1 might break it....
But I am wondering if anyone is running CC with Encore CS6 successfully on Windows 8? I keep seeing all the posts taking everyone to the FAQ on how to install Encore with creative cloud and how all is well.....but how comfortable is a user going to be when moving to Windows 8 with no guarantee it will still work?

I'm running on Windows 8.1 and so far so good. But some professional clients (including myself for personal projects), and especially consumer clients are not quite ready to move away from disks 100%. EOL for Encore at this point is too rash a decision. Must we switch to less sophisticated disk authoring apps that are still being updated?

Need help with as3 for popup window

I am nearing the end of the semester in my Flash Animation class. I have learned very simple AS3 things, code snippets etc. I am trying to find the actionscript for coding a very simple popup window, but have not found a clue.
Here's what I want to do...I have a white box with some type on the stage. When a person clicks on the white box, I want a popup to open that is larger, that will contain the same type but larger. That box will have an x so it can be dismissed. I don't want to do this in html, only in Flash CS5. I don't want a browser window, I just want a bigger version of the smaller box. I know how to build both boxes, just don't know how to write the code. I know there will be an on-click mouse event listener, and then I am lost.
Can anyone help with the code I might use? It would be most appreciated.

Help with Flex based popup windows and data population.

Hello, I need a bit of help with Flex popups. I have a flex
application that uses a popup window when you click on a button and
displays information about the image above the button the user
clicked. I have about 4 images and I need to be able to display
information about each of them through the popup window when users
click on the buttons below the image.

What I want to do is either be able to create a popup file
for each button and photo, or find a way to pass a name like a
button ID that corresponds to a XML data structure and then
provides the appropriate data for the photo. I have tried altering
the first page of code with the "public" declaration to allow for a
second popup file for each button and image, but the IDE won't
allow me to do such because it creates errors stating I can only
have one public declaration of the kind and function above per
application. Help resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

I have an idea of what I want to do. I am just having
difficulty articulating how to go about such. I know I want to find
a way so that if a user clicks on button 1, button 1 will send some
kind of variable. For example, a user clicks Btn1 under a picture.
Btn1 sends some kind of variable or binding to a data structure
which returns the picture's description, price, etc. and calls the
popup to display that data in a form like manner. Then the user
click Btn2 which does the same thing. The only purpose of the popup
is to display the data.
Do I create a data structure with a related name to say a
button name so when the btn is clicked, the a variable title btn1
will prepend itself to the data structure like
{btn1.imagename}
{btn1.price}
{btn1.description}.
I want each btn to call a different set of data about each
picture because right now, the code I have is allowing me multiple
buttons, but is just displays the popup. Is there a way to create a
separate popup window for each button? Thats seems as though it
would be easier. Thank you for your help.

Help w/ Audition CS6

I am using Audition cs6. I have a macbook pro running OS10.10.1 in conjunction with M-Audio fire wire solo. This is the first time I have tried to use this set up on this computer. If my mind serves me right, I believe I have to install a driver, but when I went to M-Audio they didn't have one. The issue is that when I press record to record, Audition isn't picking up the signal.Now when I go back to hardware and use the internal mic, everything works fine. I need to get my firewire solo and condenser mic working with Audition. Thanks for all the input in advance.

It doesn't appear that M-Audio has released updated drivers for this device for Yosemite yet.

There are some links there where people have gotten them working, but it requires manipulating some OS files and it's not something we can recommend or support here in this forum. Until updated drivers are available for the device, Audition is unlikely to be able to access the device.

It depends on how much you want to spend and how many channels you want to record/playback at once. So any decent (normally) external audio interface should do provided it also has robust ASIO drivers for your operating system. Don't go for a gamer's interface though as they are not optimised for audio recording.
