Help with Blackberry Link

Hello - I just upgraded to the Q10 from the Bold 9000, and I am having problems getting the BlackBerry Link to work properly. I successfully downloaded the application (Version 1.1.1 build 13) to my MacBook, but it does not recognize my Q10 when I use the USB cable to plug into the Mac - the tab for it never appears at the bottom of the screen. It only shows up if I select "Show Disconnected Devices". It advises me to reset the Q10 to the factory settings, but I will lose all of the vacation photos and other data that I have added to the device since I bought it.
So, in a nutshell, I can't back up my data because the BlackBerry Link won't work properly, and if I reset the phone I lose it all. BlackBerry Protect no longer backs up my data for me. I could e-mail all of my photos to myself, but that seems to be a tedious last resort. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with your device connecting to BlackBerry Link.
Disconnect your device from your Mac and restart your Mac.
On your device, go to Settings>Storage and Access and ensure Access to Storage shows USB Connection as Connect to Mac. Keep scrolling to the bottom and ensure USB Mass Storage is Off.
Launch BlackBerry Link then connect your device. Does it now detect in Link? Does the lightening bolt appear to indicate your device is charging?

Restoring with Blackberry Link

Help please,
Moved to Blackberry Classic. I have groups setup in my contacts to do group text messages. When I back with Blackberry Link and then restore the Classic from the desktop the groups are removed.
Had a Bold 9900 with Balckberry desktop before and there was no problem with the groups staying in tack on a restore.
What I am I missing?

I understood the above from your first post, more info is needed to troubleshoot your issue so answering the questions I asked might help.

Blackberry z30 - not showing the mobile when connected with blackberry link

first when i bought the mobile z30 - my mobile was is good conditon ... suddenly today (15-1-2015) i couldnt type in my device password, mobile got struck ,then i connected my mobile with balckberry link and made a reset ... now the mobile is not upto themak....i dont feel it works as before. ...now am connecting it with blackberry link with mobile the link detects my media card in mobile and gets connected with i tbut it doesnt get connected to the mobile device...
please provide me solution.. so that i could get my mobile to old gud condition

Sorry to respond that your post is vague.
Did you do a reset to factory? It takes a day or a few days for a BB10 device to finish sync'ing and indexing and so forth after a wipe or an OS reinstall or upgrade. If performance is subpar, give it another day to see if it improves.
On the last, I may not understand. I believe you are saying you are connecting to the device with Link and the computer mounts the microSD card as a drive but not the device's onboard memory. Do you have mass storage mode enabled? If so, disable mass storage mode and try again.

Can't "reload" a Z10 with blackberry link

Hello,
I've done this many times but since october I still have the following error.
So I have a Z10 that I need to reload with blackberry link. I need the firmware to be reinstalled and most data wiped out.
I've done this many time on Z10, Q5 or Q10, it wiped the phone and updated it in the same time.
But now I still get that error.
Fist when I use "reload" it ask this.
it's normal
then when I click "get update" I got this
less normal
when I click "install" I get that error.
So now I can't use the "reload" feature and it's not devide dependant.
I tried and 3 different computer and 4 other blackberry.

I finally found a solution : autoloader!
Even if you have to be carefull about the file you launch, it's exactly what I wanted, an update with a wipe.

Help with blackberry I.d. on my phone

Need help with blackberry id on 9860. I changed my email address and password online to reset it. Now I cannot access apps or update features as it just keeps locking me out. Not sure how to correct this or change it on my phone, I went to options, then device typed in the new info still nothing. Need some advice as it's been this way for a while not able to access apps etc or download. It's frustrating can someone advice please. T Thank you

Why did you Change your Username or email and password , are you having any issue with it ? Did you upadate your email in BlackBerry ID website ?
If you still remember your old BlackBerry ID and password then try this Knowledge Base to Change or Update your BlackBerry ID username :

Problem synching Z30 with Blackberry Link

Hi there,
I'm having problems synching my Z30 calendar and contacts with my Blackberry Link. I'm getting the following error message:
"Sync was unsuccessful
CPreferencesManager: Configuration Value for /Preferences/Account_1_65538/SyncAccountld_2not set in Transconfig.xml for translator Rimbb"

Can't Reload (restore) my Q10 with Blackberry Link !!!

Yesterday, I tried to use the security wipe feature to clean my device but it took too much time and then I pulled out the battery. Then, the device showed a message on the screen to connect it to the Pc.
I used these steps below to reload my device
1.connect my device to the PC
2.run the blackberry link software
3.go to the settings and reload
4.the blackberry link found my Q10 and asked me to restore it to its factory settings
5.a message shows"checking for blackberry device software update.." and the LED on the device turned green
6.last message shows"There are no Blackberry device software update available" with close option only!!
7.when I press on the close it goes back again and show the message which means I need to connect it to the PC
So is that means I can't retort my device if it is up to date !!

Q10 task synchronisation with Blackberry Link

I wonder when Blackberry Link will enable such a basic feature like synchronising tasks and memos via USB... Even my five years old Nokia C7 was able to do that, even whireless... Is there anabody from Blackberry here? You even can't get in touch with this company...

I need help with BlackBerry 8820's bluetooth issue

Please accept my appology of my poor English.
My 8820 has a bluetooth issue with Bluedio E9+ headset. It must be note that the headset works well with another phone (not BlackBerry). My BlackBerry can't actively connects to bluetooth headset by the method 'Menu' key > 'Connect' option, but still able to receives connection request from the headset and pairs with the headset when i choose Yes. At this point I can use bluetooth function for data transfering, Voice Dialing and music playback (i.e. mp3 files). But each time I try a mp4 file with default video player in Media folder, its audio will never work with the bluetooth function, and the phone's speakers is automatically enabled. I try the menu when the video was playing, but there are only Activate Handset and Active Speakerphone options. Then I was converted the file with BlackBerry Video Converter Pro; I remove and reinsert the battery; I wipe the phone and install new ROM,... But none of them work.
Please help!

I am having a problem with a link on this site that I am working on. http://msp005revised.businesscatalyst.com/index.html I would like to have "Learn more about Mary" as a link which scrolls horizontally to the "About Mary" page. All the pages are part of a tooltip composition widget. I tried using anchors unsuccesfully. I would be ever so grateful for any help.

With Anchors what happens if you apply that ? It should work as the page should scroll up to menu options that you have placed on main page.
But it seems you are using full screen slideshow and wants to link the text with the slideshow on Mary using the triggers.
My suggestion would be to create a page or image/document about marry and then hyperlink the text with that page, this way users will be directed to About Mary page not the actual slideshow but the contents can be made same or insert the same slideshow on About Mary page, the effect would be same.

Z30 issues with Blackberry Link

I recently upgraded from a Z10 to a Z30.
Issue #1
When I transferred all info from the Z10 to the Z30 using Blackberry Link it changed the name of the new Z30 from the name that it came with to a name of my Z10. Is this normal? Can I change it back to the name it had originally without confusing Blackberry Link? Does it even matter?
Issue #2
When I connected my Z10 to my computer and opened Blackberry Link there was a dropdown menu along the botton of the frame and one of the choices was "back up". Now with the Z30 that dropdown menu menu box is not there but along the left side that says that my Z30 is connected and one of the menu choices is "backup and restore". Is this the same thing?

Can you help with D-link and two airport express stations

I currently run a Dlink 604 wireless and 1 Airport express for iTunes in my front room.
A Express is also linked to the Dlink via a cable.
All works fine - G4 dual running OS x 10.3.9
I would like help with a couple of things please:-
1. I have no current security on my Express, so anybody can use the net connection through it. How do I change this and still be able to use my tower and laptop?
2. I have a second Express from work that I would like to use upstairs. It does work but requires me to swap the network to use it for iTunes and then I have no internet.
It was formatted at work so has different ip numbers etc.
Can I make this station join my exisitng network?
As my lap top is wireless will I be able to surf through it upstairs?

1. You need to open the Express's configuration in Airport Admin Utility and change the Wireless Security settings to WEP or, preferably, WPA or WPA2. When you attempt to connect to the network from your computers, you will be prompted for the password.
2. The easiest thing to do is to hard reset the second Express and then use the Airport Setup Assistant to configure the second Express to join and extend the first Express's network. To do a hard reset, hold down the reset button until the LED starts flashing rapidly.
BTW, I know it can work because I have the exact same setup (D-Link DI-604 and two Expresses in an extended wireless network).

Z30 won't link with blackberry link

I have reinstalled blackberry link several time now, each time it will link up the Z30, but a few days later my Z30 will connect to the computor but Blackberry link doesn't connect. This is not the only issue but I can't fix any of the others if Link won't be consistant in hooking up each and every time. any suggestions

Need help with href link that submits

I need some help. I dynamically create HTML that displays a horizontal row of page numbers in Position 8. Although they look like page numbers to the use, are not true Apex pages, but rather "logical" pages that change the content in a single Apex physical page. The URL that gets returned from the HREF sets a variable in the page. Then I need a submit to occur so that all my "after submit" processes run, and the page re-renders. Is this even possible? I've been unsuccessful so far.

Two things...
1. Be careful about "hard coding" values in a link. I don't know if you've already done this, but the link should use substitution variables as so...
f?p=&app_id.:&app_page_id.:&app_session.::NO::P94000_LOGICAL_PAGE_NUM:2
When the page renders each substitution variable will be replaced with the correct value.
2. Not that it really matters, but you named your variable starting with P94000. Typically this would indicate the variable appears on page 94000. Is this the case?
The problem with what you want to do is that it can be done so many different ways. Each way is not necessarily better than the other. Number 1 above is using a link in the traditional sense. It's a link to the same page (achieved by using app_page_id). It will not submit the page but it contains enough information to set the value of a variable and you can code off of that variable's value.
You could use a JavaScript trick, but I wouldn't bother for this. In addition, you could use the request value over a variable value to feed off of but since you already started with the variable I'd stick with that.
The first thing you need to do is figure out if your variables value is being set with the link... Let me know if you have more questions.

I'm not going thru all the code to just "fix it for you". But I do see one glaringly obvious mistake:
for(int i = 0; i < -999; i++)That says:
1) Initialize i to 0
2) while i is less than -999, do something
Since it is initially 0, it will never enter that loop body.
