Help with Blackberry Storm 2 voice dialing

I just got 2 BBS2's 3 days ago, on one the voice dilaing works great on the other one it won't. When you activate voice dialing it comes up gives you the pompt when you say the number or name you want to dial it recognizes it and says calling "whatever it is you've said" but then it just brings up the dial pad it doesn't actually dial the number. Is there a setting I could possibly be overlooking that I need to be fixed or is this phone just not working properly?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Johnita

You may need to improve voice recognition by completing a short series of prompts that ask you to say specific numbers and words.
On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
Click Voice Dialing.
Click Adapt Voice.
Complete the instructions on the screen.
I hope this is helpful!

  • I need help with BlackBerry 8820's bluetooth issue

    Hi!
Please accept my appology of my poor English.
My 8820 has a bluetooth issue with Bluedio E9+ headset. It must be note that the headset works well with another phone (not BlackBerry). My BlackBerry can't actively connects to bluetooth headset by the method 'Menu' key > 'Connect' option, but still able to receives connection request from the headset and pairs with the headset when i choose Yes. At this point I can use bluetooth function for data transfering, Voice Dialing and music playback (i.e. mp3 files). But each time I try a mp4 file with default video player in Media folder, its audio will never work with the bluetooth function, and the phone's speakers is automatically enabled. I try the menu when the video was playing, but there are only Activate Handset and Active Speakerphone options. Then I was converted the file with BlackBerry Video Converter Pro; I remove and reinsert the battery; I wipe the phone and install new ROM,... But none of them work.
    Please help!

  • Frustrated with BlackBerry Storm Contract....

My wife and I purchased BlackBerry Storms in July of last year... What a mistake. Within months, we were having the same issues that every other person that purchases this BlackBerry branded paperweight was having: Screen freezing, trouble typing on the screen, slow processing speed, etc. etc. etc. I gave my wife the early upgrade in July, leaving me stuck with my mistake for another 10 months. For me, possible alternatives do not include purchasing a used phone on ebay or amazon... I'd like to purchase a reasonably priced working phone under contract. What to do?
    Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your Storm issues. I'm guessing you have first tried talking to customer service to see what your options are.
You can upgrade 20 months into your contract ... can you make it until March? Or you can buy new phones on eBay too, not just used ones. Your only other option, as I see it, is to pay full price.

  • Desktop Manager .ALX problem with Blackberry Storm

    Hi,
I am having trouble with the Desktop Manager when I try adding the Associated Press application to a Blackberry Storm (this application is available for free here: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/builtforblackberry/news.jsp).  Just for reference:
    *Desktop Manager Version: 4.7.0.32
    *Device Software Version: 4.7.0.76
    *Phone: Blackberry 9530 smartphone
In a particular section of the .ALX file that comes in the download for the AP application there is a section defining what .COD files should be downloaded to a Storm.
    <fileset Java="1.0" _blackberryVersion="[4.7.0,)">
    <directory>470</directory>

    APNews_470_en_engine.cod
    APNews_470_en_account.cod
    </files>
    </fileset>
Now if I try adding a "series" attribute, if I want to restrict certain versions of an application for certain phones (9500, 9530 or later phones for example).  Like this:

I get an error message from the Desktop Manager telling me that:
"No additional applications for your device were found."
Is there a way around this, or is this issue being fixed?
Thanks in advance for any response,
    Elliott M.

this is an eternal problem with versions. In my opinion you should look at how things are done on Mozilla Firefox addons version testers.
    they use jokers like 3.0.x
which means the application is said to be valid for 3.0 and 3.0.1 and even 3.0.19.
The 4.7.0 OS is only for 9500 and 9530 OS. If there ever is another touchscreen device with 4.7, it will bear another y like ine 4.7.0.y , with y never used yet.
I hope you will find the answer you seek, though.

  • Blackberry Desktop PC software v6.02 syn with Blackberry Storm

I am running MS Vista, Blackberry desktop v6.02 with Blackberry Story 9950.  I get an error 0x80040fbc.  When I was running version 6.01.18 I did not have a problem.  I have installed and installed the program about ten times.  Is there a fix for this or does anyone have version 6.01.08?
    Thanks

As far as screwing things up, mine went fine. There were some comments about problems. If you go to crackberry. com, there is a Mac users area, under Forums/Blackberry Operating Systems and Desktop Managent.

  • HELP EMAIL BLACKBERRY STORM

I have had my work email on my Storm before but Outlook requires me to change my password every so often.  After I changed my password in outlook I tried to do the same on my blackberry HOWEVER now it keeps telling me my password is incorrect... GRR Someone help me!

I had to go through this just today myself. Changed my password in my Yahoo email account, then found out it wasn't going to be so easy to do the same on my Blackberry.
You actually have to physically change the email password in your Blackberry Internet Service account, which you can log into at this address:
    https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw&locale=en
    or
http://www.blackberry.com/go/vzw ( this will forward you to that previous address. It's just easier to remember this address. ^^; )
From there, sign in with your BIS user name and password. Once you log in, you should come up to a page that shows the email address you have assigned to your Blackberry account. If you see a little yellow envelope with a red stop image over it, that means you have to reset the password to the new password you set in your email account. If it's a black check mark, you SHOULD be okay.
If you see the little yellow envelope, click it, and you'll change your password in the window that opens up. It SHOULD change the little yellow envelope to the black check mark after that.
However, if you're like me and don't know your Blackberry Internet Service account user name and password because the rep who set the phone up for you at the store didn't tell you anything you needed to know, you're going to have to call tech support.
    1-800-922-0204
If you can, skip through the automated menu and get to a human as quickly as possible. The rep I spoke to tonight helped me though EVERYTHING.
They'll probably have you go to the website I linked you to as well, but they have a few more steps they may bring you through.
After you've changed your email password in the BIS account, and it's cleared through, it could take up to 20 minutes for new emails to show up on your phone. Just keep sending yourself test emails from any other email accounts you might have and see if they show up on your Blackberry.
    Hope that helps!

  • URGENT HELP WITH BLACKBERRY ID!

    Hello,
I have a persistent problem with my BlackBerry ID. When I registered I stupidly entered my email address without the number in it, so it was incorrect. Unfortunately, this is the only email address the phone recognizes, so when I type in my actual registered BlackBerry ID and password, it tells me to 'Enter the user name associated with this smartphone.' When I do that, it tells me (correctly) that that user name does not exist.
So, how do I get my phone to recognize my registered user name? I can successfully log in to everything BlackBerry on my computer with it, but not my phone.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

  • Help with Blackberry Link

Hello - I just upgraded to the Q10 from the Bold 9000, and I am having problems getting the BlackBerry Link to work properly.  I successfully downloaded the application (Version 1.1.1 build 13) to my MacBook, but it does not recognize my Q10 when I use the USB cable to plug into the Mac - the tab for it never appears at the bottom of the screen. It only shows up if I select "Show Disconnected Devices".  It advises me to reset the Q10 to the factory settings, but I will lose all of the vacation photos and other data that I have added to the device since I bought it.
So, in a nutshell, I can't back up my data because the BlackBerry Link won't work properly, and if I reset the phone I lose it all.  BlackBerry Protect no longer backs up my data for me.  I could e-mail all of my photos to myself, but that seems to be a tedious last resort.  Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!

Hello witchland and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with your device connecting to BlackBerry Link.
Disconnect your device from your Mac and restart your Mac.
On your device, go to Settings>Storage and Access and ensure Access to Storage shows USB Connection as Connect to Mac. Keep scrolling to the bottom and ensure USB Mass Storage is Off.
Launch BlackBerry Link then connect your device. Does it now detect in Link? Does the lightening bolt appear to indicate your device is charging?
    Thanks!

  • Help with Blackberry Tour 9630? Please.

So i just recieved a VERIZON blackberry 9630 , and it said it was unlocked. I have AT&T , since it was unlocked i put my sim card inside and it worked i mean it recognizes my number and everything. However, i can recieve or make call or texts. Nor do i have internet ofcourse. Bbm also goes on but it doesnt work. What can i do? Or whats wrong please help?

In addition... make sure you have the BlackBerry Data Plan from ATT, you'll need it and ATT will add it in a few days automatically if you don't.
Meanwhile you won't get the internet browser to work on ATT without some special workarounds.
For the 9630, you will be required to follow the same instructions in this link below as is needed for the Storm 9530.
    http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-9500-series-discussion-storm/180267-unlocked-storm-t-t-mobil...
It won't be easy, but it is certainly possible.
