Help with blinking ink light on printer

I have a office jet printer and my computer states my printer is out of ink. I replaced the ink cartridges and the printer continue to blink on the ink lights and when I try to send something to the printer it keeps saying the printer is out of ink. I have tried turning it off and tried taking the cartridges out. I just don't know what else to try? Any ideas

Hi @Cluelesst ,
Welcome to the HP forum.
I understand you are having a problem with your 6100 and ink cartridges. I would like to help you with this.
Try going through the following document.
An 'Ink Cartridge Problem' Error Message Displays on the Computer
I know you said it says the ink is empty, but it still could be misinterpreting the error from the printer.
Please let me know if that document works for you.

  • Help with HP Laserjet 1220 network printer.

I have an HP Laserjet 1220 connected via USB to my old G4 running OS 10.2 in my home office. I have a MacBook now running 10.7.4. Both computers are on my wireless network using on a Linksys E1000. When my MacBook was running 10.4 I had no problems printing to my HP printer. Once I upgraded my MacBook to 10.6 and eventually now to 10.7.4, I can no longer connect to my HP printer. The only way I can print from my MacBook is to connect to my HP Laserjet 1220 via USB. I have tried many times to set up my printer, but no success. Can anyone help me? Many thanks.

10.2 is very very old. Alternate solutions:
    1. Replace the Linksys Router with an Airport Extreme, plug printer into USB port on router.
    2. Keep your Linksys but add an Airport Express which can join your WiFi and share the printer. Or buy a cheaper print server http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Networking-Accessories/Wireless-Print-Servers/abcat0 503006.c?id=abcat0503006
    3. Buy a new printer with WiFi built in.
All three options mean you don't need to keep the G4 powered on to print wirelessly from the MacBook Pro.

  • Laserjet 1300 with blinking orange light

Got a laserjet 1300 with a blinking orange light.  When restarting, motor works.  I have cold-booted and reset all wiring. What's wrong?

When you set it to +manage manually+, iTunes keeps the iPod (as a storage device) mounted. Therefore, +enable disk use+ is also checked because that is the setting where you have to formally eject the iPod before disconnecting it.
If you have it set to sync (uncheck the +manage manually+ setting), iTunes automatically un-mounts the iPod (as a storage device) when iTunes is not syncing. Therefore, you are allowed to disconnect the iPod without clicking on eject first. But if you want to use the iPod as a storage device, you have the option to +enable disk use+ (and use the sync setting)

  • Help with HP Officejet 4500 Wireless Printer

We have two HP 4500 Wirless Printers. We could print through our wireless network (unsecured)  until we secured it.
    Now it will not print.
We selected the tool icon on the printer.  Next we selected WIRELESS MENU.  Next, SET UP WIZARD.
It started searching for the network.  We located our wirless network and selected it.
Then it asked for the WPA Passphrase?  Our passphrase is all lower case, one word.  We entered it, but when we used the printer's keyboard, it automatically capitalized the first letter.
The message said, "Connecting".  Then INVALID PASSPHRASE.
We called the 800# for HP and the message was that tech support was not available at this time.  Both printers are still in warranty.
We tried the live chat with tech support:  BUT the Product Number on the back of the printer is only 5 letters long, and the message said it should be 6 or 7 letters long.  Thus no connection with live chat.
Needless to say, we are very frustrated!!!
Any ideas from the community would be welcomed because we can't reach HP tech support.
If HP is reading this message, please email me.

OK, in a web browser on a computer connected to the router (wired or wireless, does not matter), type 192.168.0.1 into the address bar (not the search or 'Google' bar).
When it asks for a login and password enter 'admin' for the login and leave the pasword blank.
Now, navigate to the wireless section and under wireless security you will find your wirless passphrase.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Need help with HP laser and inkjet printing.

Anybody able to get an auto-rotate and center with the Mac?
paper/quality/size consistant and saveable with HP printers?
As much as I really hate the windows side of my computer, I really like the simplicity and usefulness of their print driver interface.
Have tried guttenburg drivers and some V named drivers for both the HP 5500 and inkjet 130NR to no success. these HP drivers are supposed to be included with the leopard OS, so there's really no way for me to get them to work any better, or sometimes at all.
Please help me wean myself from windows 100%. I currently have to print through windows for consistency in paper size and quality, but I prefer to work in mac programs.

yes, I tried those. I also downloaded the previous set of "fixed" drivers from July. Pretty worthless as far as I can tell. One of my printers is listed in the compatible printers that it supports, but what next? what good does installing these do for anyone else?

  • Can someone help with my 3D Lighting woes??

I'm having a tough time getting the lighting the way I want it in Acrobat Extended Pro.
First off,  whenever I try to import a 3D file, with "Lights From File" selected, it ALWAYS defaults to "Headlamp" in acrobat, with "Lights From File" grayed out. How can I avoid these automatically added lighting styles?
Second, All the lighting styles in Acrobat produce ULTRA BRIGHT speculars!  Is there any way to edit the brightness/specular?  3D reviewer seems to only give me the option to move my lights.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Actually the option Light from file only works when importing U3D files (using U3D path.. not PRC).
Right now support of light from file for other CAD software is not yet supported by APEX.
I have opened an improvment request.
We are working on this for a future version of APEX, but nothing has been scheduled yet and I am not able to provide a date or version for the implementation of the fix
    Hope it helps

  • Help with rich black color for print project, please

We are using CS5 photoshop to create a 3ft x 8 ft vinyl banner. We've never created something this large for print before.  Included layers are a black to white gradient, a black filigree graphic from DigitalJuice, and black text (that was created in Illustrator by someone else).  We set the project up using CMYK.  The printer informed us that we need to change the blacks to rich black (C50%, M40%, Y40%, K100%).
How is this best done?  I can see how to change the color picker to the rich black %, but this doesn't appear to change the blacks in the project.  Is there a way to change them, or to export the project with rich blacks?
Do we have to begin from scratch - and if so, how do we get the graphics and gradients to the rich black color settings.
Any help will be greatly appreciated -

In RGB mode I can't create non - rich black. For example if I set the color palette to CMYK, choose C=0%, M=0%,Y=0%, K=100%, fill the canvas with this color, and then measure the color with the eyedropper, the color reads C=70%, M=68%, Y=64, K=74%.
This means that if your document is in CMYK mode and you have blacks that read C=0%, M=0%,Y=0%, K=100%, converting the document to RGB and then back to CMYK these blacks will become rich. Though the numbers of the rich black my vary depending on how your color management is set.
Have in mind that the numbers above preserve the tonal intensity of non-rich black when converted to rich black. If you want the numbers your printer suggested they will be fine for elements like text and flat colors but for things like photo images this will intensify the blacks and will alter the tonal balance appearance which may be not what you want.

  • Sudden shut down, left with blinking power light (NOT in sleep mode)

Last night I boosted the RAM on my iMac G5 20" from 1.25GB to 2GB (added 1GB from Crucial.com). This morning I have twice experienced something I have never come across before.
I was using Garageband (my most memory intensive app) and the iMac just shut down w/o warning. I was left only with a flashing power light (and the power light on my USB music keyboard was flashing, too). It was NOT in sleep mode, and at first it would not start up again at all. It continued flashing even after the power was disconnected. After a few minutes the power button eventually started up the computer again.
This exact same scenario has occurred twice in 30 minutes.
A search of Apple support has simply told me that the flashing power light is to indicate sleep mode. Again, the computer was definitely not sleeping.
Any thoughts? Your help would be much appreciated.
    iMac G5 20", 1.8 GHz, 2GB RAM Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Welcome to discussions - have you tried removing your new RAM stick to see if the problem goes away? You might also try resetting your SMU.
    Please post back.

  • Help with inserting a light AE

hey guys, im sorry to be starting a thread about this here, but ive done quite a bit of search through google and on here and havent found anything, maybe i dont know the proper terminology for what im trying to do, youd think this would be relatively easy but i guess its not.
anyway, this is what im trying to do. AE cs4
im trying to recreate a light passing through a hole like how the sun would pass through a hole in the ceiling in real life.
simple right? i cant figure it out, i tried using shine but that doesnt work on 3d layers, so youre looking at the light from the front while the light is passing through the hole at the top.
bonus points if anyone can tell me how i could create a Icosahedron in 3d layers without the use of other 3d software or maybe point my way towards something basic i can import and animate in AE..
    thank you

You can fake volumetric light with a masked and blurred solid set to add or screen, with the beam effect blurred, with Trapcode Lux (simulates real light volumetric light from AE lights) or by masking and bluring an adjustment layer with color controls. Give us a screenshot and somebody will probably give you a solution.
As for constructing your Icosahedron the Wkipedia page gave you the solution. It's just a matter of laying out solids that are the right shape, adjusting the anchor point and then rotating and parenting. There's even a perfect layout template. Just download it and then create some solids that are masked and stacked to fit this shape exactly. Set the anchor points to matching edges, rotate, parent, rotate, parent, rotate, parent until your Icosahedron is complete.
There is also a vector graphic on the wikipedia page.

  • Help with flashing green light on Express

I am trying to set up an airport express in my office to use with my a windows laptop and my iPhone. I had it working yesterday and took it home to set up a home profile on it. Everything was working fine in both places. Today when I plugged it in it went to a steady green for a second or two then amber while it booted as usual but then to a rapid flashing green. I tried everything I can think of including resets and it still does the same thing. It keeps flashing green and never appears in my network lists. Any ideas?

The rapid flashing green light has happened 3 times to me since I first set up my Airport Extreme in fall 2007. The problem is always fixed by unplugging the LAN cable that connects through my hardwire network to my Airport Express. If I plug the LAN cable back, the rapid green returns and I can't access the network. Unplug it, and voila, the network is back. (I only encounter the problem when I have unplugged the Extreme and plugged it back in - if I leave it alone it is fine).
I think the problem is a conflict in my Airport Express being set to act as a wireless bridge by my computer-tech friend, but I had it set up to be hardwired in the network so as to never lose my iTunes to hi-fi connection if there was a wireless problem. I've yet to sit down to resolve the Express issue; however, I suspect that if your case is similar, the Extreme is in conflict with another network device. If you can isolate it the network to just your Internet connection and Extreme, see if that solves it.
    Good luck.

  • Help with toning down lights

I shoot real estate photos and I have been using Lightroom and Photoshop for years so I am probably not actually a beginner. That said these program are so powerful that hardly a day goes by where something makes me go wow, I didn't know it could do that. I shoor 3 exposure brackets, tidy them up in Lightroom CC, blend them in LR/Enfuse. I open the blended tiff files in Camera Raw, make any further adjusments and on into PS CC. Looking at the above image, is there a way to minimize the over exposed lights above the dining room table?

When the image is in Camera Raw, try lowering the Highlights value. If that affects other light areas in a way that you don't like, then use the Adjustment brush to paint in the Highlights reduction locally to the lamps.
When the image in is Photoshop, a similar adjustment is to choose Image > Adjustments > Shadows/Highlights and increase the Highlights value, but it will probably work better in Camera Raw/Lightroom.
Either method will tone down the lamps, but whether you'll see any detail in the glass fixture probably depends on how much extreme highlight detail was captured in the darkest of the three original exposures. They might still be white blobs, but less so.

  • Need help with Address Book---trying to print first names first???

I am trying to print address labels from the Address Book but the last name keeps coming up first.  Entered correctly using First and Last name boxes.  Also checked the Preferences-General and marked the box to put First names first but no luck.  Am I missing something?

  • D6060 low ink light and no print.

The low ink warning light blinks, printer does not print, but all cartridges are between 50 and 100% full.  No paper jams apparent.
Have followed directions to reset printer (remove cartridges, turn off, wait 10 mins, turn on). Same result with blinking orange light.

    Hello @ISCAGIRL ,
    Welcome to the HP forum.
I understand that your printer is giving a false low ink message.
    I would like to help.
First while powered on, remove the power cord & refix after 30 seconds (Hard Reset).
If that does not clear the printers brain, try the following document.

  • Ink light flashes and it just won't print Deskjet 5150

    Hi all,
I have a deskjet 5150 and just had the printer cartriges refilled at a local shop here in my area. Since I have done that and before I did that, I have had problems printing. Sometimes it would help if I disconnected the usb cable and plugged it back in. Then the document would print. Lately, all that I get is a blinking ink light on the printer. Everytime I try to print, the computer just tells me that there has been a problem with printing.
    Any ideas?

Which light is blinking?  Are there any error messages on the computer?  Try printing with just a color cartridge installed, then with just a black cartridge.  The one that does not work is the problem cartridge, try removing it and cleaning the cartridge contacts as shown here.

  • Printer won't print email with black ink, how do I correct this?

I am new here, and seek some help. My wife's i-Mac computer has a problem of not printing email with black ink. However, the printer will print email text in all colors, but not with black ink. The printer goes through all the motion/movements like it is printing in black, but only a blank sheet of paper is the result. However, it will print a black horizontal line (topic divider) across the paper in black ink, if that is shown in the email. Strangely, the printer will print using black ink when asked to print a word doc. The ink jet cartridge is new, so it is not an issue of being low on black ink.
I have changed printers, but still experience the very same strange problem. Is this a software problem, or a computer setting that needs to be adjusted? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
