Help  with burning to CD

I am burning some itunes to a cd and can't get the artist, album, and title to come over. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Hello Big D Burger,
The new version of iTunes does look quite a bit different.  I found an article that has the steps to burn a playlist to a disc.
iTunes 11 for Windows: Create your own CDs and DVDs
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12348
The first few steps should get you back on track:
Create a playlist that contains the songs or files you want to burn to the CD; make sure the items you want to include have a checkmark beside them.
Insert a blank disc.
Select the playlist and choose File > Burn Playlist to Disc.
If Burn Playlist to Disc doesn’t appear in the menu, the playlist you selected can’t be burned to a CD because it contains items with usage restrictions (for example, a song your computer isn’t authorized to play).
I also have an article that talks about setting up the latest version of iTunes to look similar to previous versions of iTunes:
iTunes 11: Frequently used features
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5649
I hope this helps!
Best,
Sheila M.

  • Please Help with Burn Error in iDVD 4.0.1

I'm using a G5 and running OS 10.3.9. I've burned a slideshow once with no problems using iDVD over a year ago and went to try again recently (after upgrading whenever an upgrade was available) and I'm getting the following error:
Errors were found during the burning process
The recording device reported the media error:
    WRITE error - RECOVERY FAILED. (0x0C, 0x08.)
I'm using DVD-R as required, which I've also used in the past. Can anyone help me in troubleshooting this problem. I've ruined 3 disks so far trying to burn this slideshow. Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

    Thanks for your response Sue.
I tried the Verbatim DVD-R and I'm now getting the following error:
Errors were found during the burning process
The recording device reported the media error:
Power calibration area error. (0x73, 0x03.)
Where can I choose the burn speed? You recommended 4x or slower but no burn speed option appeared when I clicked 'burn'.

  • I need help with burning a disk in elements 11.

In elements 11, how do I manage to burn a disk?

When I complete a folder of photos, I like to burn them to disk. I have found that Picasa (Free from Google), let's me burn a disk with a slide show included. Learning a Mac is a new thing for me. Things are just a little different. Jumping from Elements 6 to 11 is fun to learn. Without the organizer is tough.
Thanks for returning my call for help.

  • Old version of itunes to help with burning issue.

I first downloaded itunes about a year and a half ago(Feb of 2005). I cannot remember what version it was. Everything worked fine and burning music cds was a piece of cake. About 6 months later I downloaded a later version of itunes and my problem with being unable to burn cds began (error 2123). I have tried about everything I can think of to fix it. I have posted on this forum before. There have been some people on it that have tried to help but nothing seems to work. I've tried contacting Apple but that's been a deadend street(if anyone knows how to get a real person on the phone at Apple please let me know). I've contacted the drive's manufacturer and they have tried to be helpful but they, as I, believe it's an issue with the itunes software. I think the only way I'm going to get this problem fixed is one of three things. First, try to find a new drive that's compatable. Secondly, find a way to install an old version of itunes without losing everything on my machine and my ipod. Thirdly, stop using itunes altogether. Has anyone run into this problem and found a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    TJ

Hey, I had the exact same problem. Is your drive an AOpen drive? If so, I read somewhere that their site admits that two of their DVD Rewriter drives do not work with ITunes 6.
You can install old ITunes versions at oldapps.com. However, I installed version 5 and it's now saying I need an upgraded version to play or burn these songs. Let me know if you figure anything out.

  • Help with burning large project on dual layer DVD

    Hi need help please.
I am busy with a SD 16x9 project 215 minutes long so I am trying to use dual layer DVD's. The project has a serious menu setup (well I think so), it starts with a intro and go's into the main menu with sub menu's and so on. my problems is the following:
if I burn a image all works well if I burn a disc from the image or using encore the menu once using a DVD player is very slow (the last half of the links on the time line) and some links get mixed up (if I press play dvd on the 3rd sub menu it somtimes starts in the correct place and somtimes it starts one link later).
is this caused by the break in the layer and what can I do to correct it or to get it better.
    thanks
    Darren

Are you using any motion menus? Have you exceeded the 1 gig limit for menus etc?
I assumed 16:9 and forgot to look before I started posting: it does not look like it, but be sure you don't have more than 18 buttons per menu (if it is 16:9).
With lots of short clips, break position should not be an issue. You can export to a folder and use imgburn which gives more control over layer breaks.
Even though complex, it all looks straight forward, and, even though I can't see the image detail, it looks okay. The most likely issue in such a project is that Encore got lost as you made changes/corrections. Sometimes they can be fixed. Other times, the solution is a do over. Newer versions for Encore appear more robust (fewer problems and more likely to fix problems), but no versions appear to be free of such issues.

  • My Hair is turning gray- help with Burning CD!

I downloaded 6 songs or so and made a playlist with some songs already in my Itunes. I have tried every way known to man to make a copy of this playlist- different media, different order, etc. It shows that it has "burnt" and when I go to play in my car for example, it will only play track 1. ( there are 18 others.)
I tried yet another type of CD today and Itunes said I had already made 7 copies! I haven't even gotten 1 successfully copied! I am beginning to detest the whole Itunes- and feel ripped off and frustrated. There isn't a tel# to call- no one to help.
anyone out there have an idea? it would be most appreciated.

I had the same problem with the cds I burn a while back. The CDs have been burned correctly, you should be able to play them on a computer, but car and portable CD players will have trouble recognizing the burned CDs because the lazers that they use to read the disks are weaker than the ones found in computers.
For me, if I was playing a CD I had burned and it stopped, but I knew there was a track after it, hitting the next/skip button would take me to the next song. This trick works for CDs I burn in both my portable and my car CD Players, but CDs my friends burn on their computers will not read in my car. Like I said, a Car's CD player lazer is only strong enough to pick up professionally burned/created CDs from to main CD manufactoring. It is annoying, but that is how it is. Good luck,

  • Help with Burning Videos

I am trying to burn music videos onto a dvd disc and I keep getting error code 4450. It has something to do with the format. Anyone know what this is?

You need to purchase more advanced burning software like nero (www.nero.com) or you could convert the files to a format that dvd maker understands using this:

  • Help with burning a slideshow to a DVD...

I'm using iDVD and I have about 260 photos in a slideshow with audio and I burned it to a DVD and it stops playing after it shows the 99th photo. I read online that it is limited to 99, so I altered the project into three seperate slideshows accessible from the menu. I synced music with all three of them and then burned the DVD. This DVD works except for the fact that the first slideshow has no audio, but the second two have audio. If someone could please tell me what is going on and how I can get this to work?
    thanks.

    Welcome to iDVD Discussions.
Are all your iApps updated? QuickTime at 7.1.3?
Where did the music come from that is missing? Audio CDs? iTunes?
Suggest you create a disc image and then burn the DVD. File/Save as Disc Image...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/6.0/en/18.html
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/image_to_diskstone.html
This will isolate any encoding/burning issues you may encounter. Once the disc image is created, double-click the .img and burn the virtual disc that should appear on your desktop, using Toast to burn the DVD. Disk Utility to burn the .img file. Usually, you can select a burning speed in Disk Utility.
There are variations to this process based on which OS X you are using...
Open Disk Utility (in Utilities folder in Applications folder), click on the virtual disc (maybe the .img) in the left-hand window. Click the Burn icon. A new window should drop down and your SuperDrive tray will open after clicking the Burn icon. Insert a recordable DVD. (Verbatim DVD-R preferred by me.) Click the Close button. Wait. Select a burn speed. If you hold your mouse cursor over the pop-up it says: "Select a slower speed to work around burn failures," so select 4x or slower for best results. Then click the Burn button.
-->If the virtual disk selection won't allow you to click the Burn icon, use the .img file instead. This may have changed in 10.3.9 and did change in Tiger.
Also, you can use DVD Player to play the virtual disk to check your iDVD project before burning to DVD. Launch DVD Player. File/Open VIDEO_TS (Open DVD Media... in Player 4.6). Find the VIDEO_TS folder and open that. (The audio folder is for DVD-Audio disks.)

No you misunderstood. In the iTunes burning preferences you can pick several choices such as an Audio CD, an MP3 CD, or a data disk. Which one are you burning?
As I said, if you are burning to an Audio CD (a plain old audio CD that can be played on any audio CD player), lower the burn speed to x8 or lower and try again.

  • Help With Burning files to DVD

I'm having trouble doing something that should be ridiculously easy.  I'm trying to burn files to a blank DVD RW.  I've created a burn folder in finder.  The folder has lots of duplicates, which causes the size of the burn folder to exceed the size of the DVD.  I tried to delete the duplicate files from the burn folder.  I get that low pitched 'bonk' noise that the Mac OS gives you when it won't allow an operation.
How do I delete duplicate files from the burn file?
    thanks,
    Dan

(What you're describing works as would be expected on local test systems and no "plonk" noise, so...) issue a Get Info on the burn folder and then the (links to the) files within, and see if the protections are blocking delete access.  Also select the file, and then see if the Control-Click popup menu gets you anywhere.

  • Help with burning iPhoto pics to disc

My hard drive is dying and iphoto wont open- I have an external hard drive that I back up to, but since iphoto wont open- they arent backing up. I can however open my pics to email them to myself. Is there ANY OTHER WAY to burn these pics to cd other than opening from iphoto?

Try this - right click on your iPhoto Library file and select Show Package Contents: there should be a folder within named "Masters":
All of your high-res photos should be in this folder. Copy all to a folder on your Desktop so that you can, at least, 'rescue' all of your photos.
    Good luck,
