my usb dosnt reconize ipod, i already have itunes..i have no clue about ipods, i just got it.is there supossed to be other software other then itunes, for the ipod?
Hello, Mjj2005
If you are running Windows OS. The requirements to use an iPod or shuffle are
Latest version of iTunes and Quicktime
You can get the latest version of iTunes with Quicktime by going to
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and choose Windows 2000/XP
There is no other software or hardware required.
Some Quick Tips. Try using different USB Ports on your PC and see if iTunes shows your shuffle. Your shuffle is going to appear in the left hand side of iTunes.
If you open iTunes and look at the left hand side. Look for an area called Devices. If you see this right below that will be your Shuffle name.
For better assistance with your iPod you might want to call Apple Support at
1-800-275-2273 where a helpful agent can guide you through these articles and assist you with any other questions you may have about your shuffle. -
Help with my iPod shuffle!
I recently got an iPod shuffle for xmas. The iPod was bought in Sweden, and my Dad installed iTunes onto his laptop then put music from that laptop onto my iPod. It worked fine.
Then I got back to the UK, installed iTunes and tried to put music onto my iPod. iTunes said that the music had been copied over fine but when I tried to listen to it nothing could be heard.
I checked all the usual stuff: sound, headphone, pause etc.
I reinstalled iTunes as well to no avail.
So my question is: do you think it is something to do with the fact that I used it on my dad's laptop first? Or that it's from Sweden? Or is it bust...?

If you have not already, shut down (power off) your computer. Disconnect all USB devices including hub, except for standard keyboard and mouse, if nornally used. Do this to reset the shuffle

Help with my ipod shuffle please
How I can remove that function at the end of play list start again. Thanks to the community in advance
You can change the "repeat" setting on other iPods that have a screen. However, on a shuffle, the currently selected list always repeats when the end is reached. There is no setting for repeat on a shuffle

HT4914 Will this work with my iPod shuffle?
Will iTunes match work with my iPod shuffle?
Thanks for answering my question. I am a new Ipad user and recently found my new iPod shuffle (LOL) lost in a move, seven years ago... I would like to share some music from iPad iTunes to the never used shuffle, without losing it from my iTunes. Is there an online download for iPod set-up? My iPad is the only working PC, so I cannot use the set-up CD.
Would an iMatch account or iCloud help with this? Any help is most appreciated!
Peace,

I haven't turned it on in a while and suddenly it stops working when I try to turn it on again.

Now Im having problems with mine. Everytime I try to charge and usually the screen will pop up to my original music player. This is what it says now when I open or charge my IPOD.
"The File iTunes Library.it! cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes".
Now, that I listen to it...all the music skip. Please help me..what should I do??

PowerMac G4 Cube Mac OS X (10.4.8)
PowerMac G4 Cube Mac OS X (10.4.7)Andrew,
The iPod and iTunes are not compatible with Windows ME and the minimum requirements are Windows 2000 with SP4 or XP with SP2 (although I use several iPods and don't have SP2).
If you can't upgrade to one of these, then you can use the iPod with ME if you are prepared to fiddle around a little. However, you won't be able to use iTunes.
See this.
Guide to iPod and Windows ME
You can use iPods purchased in the USA here in the UK. Our family uses 3 such iPods.
You can also use the iPod on any number of computers as this document explains.
Using iPod with multiple computers
Whoever gave you you all this wrong info deserves to be shot!
Just one more thing Andrew. Please start your own topic in future instead of jumping in an interrupting someone else's with an unrelated query. It's know here as "threadjacking" and is against the discussions Terms of Use.
Good luck with ME! -

gateway Windows XPsounds like its on manual update. next time you plug it in, open itunes and open preferences. there are a couple check boxes that say something like disk mode, open itunes when you plug in ipod, i don't remember the others, my ipods in the car. but they should be pretty self explanatory. or, when you plug it in, try dragging a song over into the ipod.

hey i need help with my ipod, i try to download facebook app and it wouldn't let me because it say ios 4.1 require and i dont have ios how do i get it ? please i need help ASAP
What generation of iPod touch do you have? If you don't know, see:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353
If you have an first-generation iPod touch, it can only go to iOS 3.1.3 and hence will not run the Facebook app. If you have a second-generation iPod touch, see:

Can I use speakers instead of headphones with my iPod shuffle?
How can I use speakers instead of headphones or earbuds with my iPod Shuffle?
Yes, as long as they are self-powered (don't need an amplifier) and connect using the same type of standard "mini-stereo" connector that is on headphones.

hi i need help with my ipod nano i want to transfer my music from the ipod to the itunes so that i can be able to transfer the music to my ipad can you help me with that ?
You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store. However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like"iPod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your iTunes library, and then sync your iPad.
