Help with connecting a AFP server to OD Master with SSO

I am helping to set up a new OD in 10.6 server. Added users to OD and promoted to OD Master. DNS Realm has been set on OD server and hostname and IP address are resolving correctly. Kerberos is running as it should be after OD promotion.
Also in the mix is another server hosting the filesharing. The Directory has been bound to the OD master on the mainserver. I have entered a machine record in the DNS record of the mainserver.
Everything is working correctly except for the SSO capabilities when using Kerberos. Users are able to login using network accounts and they can also still access the share points but they are being prompted for their passwords again.
I have checked the ticket viewer on the client end after signing in and they users are being granted a kerberos ticket.
I have yet to set the AFP service access to Kerberos effectively kerberizing the AFP service. Does the AFP service need to be stopped and started for this to take effect? Or does the server need a reboot. This is hard to do during the day used all day long. Is there a way to kerberize the service while it is still running.
Is there anything that I need to try on the client end. Should I force the users to reste their passwords at the next login resetting the global password.
Some users are in a seperate local WG on the Fileshare will this change affect those users that are only contained within that local directory.
Thanks for any advice.

RDS > Overview
CAL Server Roles:
RD Web Access - not currently being used or configured
RD Licensing
RD Conneciton Broker
2 App Server Roles:
RD Session Host
RDS > Collections
At first we had one Collection with both App Servers, and didn't realize that it would try to load balance between the two.  We created 2 Collections, one App Server in each Collection and that worked great.
We set the Colleciton Depoloyment Properties > RD Licensing > Per User with the CAL Server as sthe RD Licensing Server
RSD > Collections  > OurCollectionName > Properties >
General
User Groups: Add the AD User group that can RDP to the servers
Everything else we set as default.  (unless you use it as a farm, and you want specific load balencing)
Host Servers > Add RD Session Host Servers > add the servers you want folks to be able to remote into.  You have to add them to the RDS > Collections > Host Servers first...
I may have missed some steps in this, but just ask and I'll let you know.
Thanks!

    I am new to Mac...How do I get connected to a server on my network via a hyper link IP address path?  When I try to open in a URL and login as a registered user with proper login it errors out saying there was a problem with connecting to the server?

    Some of the following is going to use some technical terms — this area is inherently somewhat technical.
    If you don't understand some part of the following reply, please ask.
    Is this your own OS X Server system on your own network, or is this some other server within some larger organization?
    You're posting this in the OS X Server forum, which is a software package that allows OS X systems to provide web-based and many other services; to become servers.
    If it's your OS X Server on your network, then the network and DNS configurations are suspect, or the server is somehow malfunctioning or misconfigured.   This is unfortunately fairly common, as some folks do try to avoid setting up DNS services.
    If it's a larger organization and somebody else is managing the server and the network, then you'll probably need to contact the IT folks for assistance; to learn the network setup and DNS requirements, and if there's a problem with the server itself.
    The basic web URL "hyper link IP address path" — without using DNS — usually looks something the following, where you'll need to replace 10.20.30.40 with the IP address of your server:
    http://10.20.30.40
    UptimeJeff has posted a URL that specifies the AFP file system; an OS X file share.  That's used if you're connecting to an Apple storage service somewhere on your network.  You might alternatively need to specify smb://10.20.30.40 or such, if it's a Windows file server.  (There can be additional requirements for connecting to Windows Server systems, too.)
    If there's local IT staff available here, please contact them for assistance.  If these are your own local systems and your own local OS X Server system, then some information on the server will be needed.  (If you're on a NAT'd network, you'll also need to get DNS services configured and working on your local OS X Server system and your network — you'll not be able to skip this step and reference ISP DNS servers here — or things can and usually will get weird.)

    Your only option is to contact the server administrator. Who
    hosts your
    server?
    If you have an account with them, you should be able to login
    to your
    account and change your FTP settings however if they are
    having problems
    with servers, this might not be possible!
    There isn't, as far as I know, any other way to connect.
    Hope this is useful anyway.

  • Can't connect to AFP server via Finder sidebar

    Suddenly I can't connect to my server from the sidebar.
    Guest access works. But my default user login returns "Connect failed".
    I can connect via 'Connect to...' and type in the IP adres.
    I can connect via iPad with a file sharing app (like ezShare)
    The console returns:
    Jul 29 04:54:39 myComputer NetAuthSysAgent[774]: AFP error -5014 mapped to EIO
    Jul 29 04:54:39 myComputer Finder[282]: SharePointBrowser::handleEnumerateCallBack returned 5
    I've tried temporary deleting the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration folder... no help.
    Any ideas?

    Try this:
    Uncheck Remote Management
    Check Screen sharing
    Add user(s)
    When finished check the remote management again.
    It has something to do with updating / resetting the cache files...
    It worked for me.

  • Connection to AFP server unreliable

    When my users edit files on our AFP server running 10.4.9 server they report intermittent network errors when they try to save files that they have created and are editing on the server. There is nothing in the AFP logs that suggests the cause. This has been happening roughly since the last security update, around April 19.
    Any suggestions?

    Suggestions...not yet, but does this happen with any particular app, or with all apps. Are they using network homes, portable homes, or just connecting to the file server and using local homes? Have you checked the client logs?
    Not that I can necessarily help, but this would be helpful info

  • Won't connect to afp server

    We have a 2 x 2 GHz G5 which was recently upgraded to X.4.5 and connected to a Gigabit switch. Everything initially worked fine. The other day the computer crashed while compressing files in Cleaner, and since then it won't connect to our server anymore, and Cleaner won't startup either. Internet acces still works. Our two other macs, with similar configurations, still have acces to the server.
    When I try to connect to our server a window appears saying connecting to afp://... then a second window appears which says searching for "name of server" but they just stall there.
    When I tried to launch Cleaner, the same second window appears saying searching for server, but Cleaner won't launch. I trashed Cleaner's prefs and it now launchs.
    I tried trashing the network prefs, to no avail.
    any ideas ?
    Cheers,
    Damien

    UPDATE
    Although the other macs could connect via AFP, this particular G5 couldn't until the password scheme for AFP was set to "Apple Clear Text" on the Windows Small Business 2003 Server.
    - On the server Go "Start'
    - Right Click "My Computer"
    - Choose "Manage" - This will open the Computer Management Window
    - Right click "Shared Folders"
    - Choose "Configure File Server For Macintosh"
    - Under "Enable Authentication" choose "Apple Clear Text" from the menu
    - Click "Apply", then "OK"
    If this isn't done, some OSX Macs may receive a -35 error when trying to connect to the server - I still don't know why the other macs we're fine as all Macs were running OS 10.4.6

  • How can I connect the remote server which is installed with oracle

    Now my computer is in my home,in my computer there is installed with the oracle 9i client,the server is also installed with oracle 9i,which is in my company.Now I want to use sql*plus to connect the database of the server through the internet work.I have created one listener service name in my home computer,but can't test successfully and the sql*plus can't connect the database.Who can tell me how to do it?Thank you!

    Technical questions need to be addressed to one of the technical forums-- Products | Database | Database - General in this case.
    Unless you are VPN-ing in or the DBA's at your company have configured Oracle Connection Manager to allow you to connect through the firewall to the database, however, I doubt this will work. If they have configured Connection Manager, you'll have to ask them to provide you with connection information. 99.9% of the time, you do not want people to access a database via the internet.

  • Strange problem with connection to Integrator Server

    Hi,
    I have a strange problem with making a connection to my Integrator Server.
    I have one workspace folder that I share between Integrator version 2.4 and 3.0 (I have several versions installed for testing purposes)
    When I try to create a new Integrator Server Project in Integrator Designer I get this nice 'Connect to CloverETL Server' panel.
    By default: the connection URL is http://localhost:8080/clover. So by default Integrator Designer wants to connect to my 2.4 Integrator Server.
    When I change this to http://localhost:8301/clover by using the drop-down box and fill in my credentials everything is looking fine. I click Next.
    The problem now is that every time I switch to the next or previous configuration windows the connection is reset to the default http://localhost:8080/clover.
    So it seems like Integrator Designer resets the CloverETL Server URL each time I switch to a different configuration window by using NEXT or BACK.
    The problem occurs in both versions of Integrator Designer.
    Does anybody know that the problem is? Can I change the default URL to my 3.0 Integrator Server?
    Greetings,
    Marcow

    I'm using iPlanet App server as well and experiencing similar problem. I load my SQL Server driver by Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"), then use DriverManager.getDriver() to obtain the Driver.
    However, the Driver returned is not the SQLServerDriver as expected. The Driver returned is com.netscape.server.jdbc.Driver! And then when I do Driver.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://MyServer"), it throws an SQLException saying that it doesn't accept a jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver subprotocol. Well, of course it doesn't, it's not a microsoft Driver at all.
    I suspect the problem is that the netscape Driver's acceptsURL() method ALWAYS returns true in iPlanet app server, thus when you getDriver(), the netscape Driver is always returned (and always returned as the first one since it's default?). Thus even though the same piece of code works fine as a standalone application, it just doesn't work on iPlanet app server.
    My work around is:
    Class.forName("my.Driver");
    Enumeration enu = DriverManager.getDrivers();
    Driver useThis = null;
    while (enu.hasMoreElements()) {
    Driver d = (Driver)enu.nextElement();
    if (d.getClass().toString().indexOf("my.Driver") > -1) {
    useThis = d;
    Mind that my above code does not have an performance issue. If you look into the source code of how DriverManager get a Driver for a particular URL, it also loads the whole set of available Drivers, then call acceptsURL() method on each of them to find the first "suitable" one. Thus time complexity is the same.
    I know this is not a very elegant solution and it defeats the purpose of having a DriverManager. Does any one else has a better way to solve this problem, like a way to specify the priority of each Driver so that SQLServerDriver is returned before the netscape Driver?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Snow Leopard: can't connect to AFP server anymore

    We are using the MacServerIP (9.0) AFP server on a windows 2003 server. After updating from 10.5 to 10.6 we can not connect to this server using AFP anymore (connection failed). Connecting via SMB works fine.
    Thank you very much!!

    I have the same problem logging in to an old Snap Server via AFP. "you entered an invalid username or password." is the error message. All was well in OS9 through 1.4 but this broke on 10.6 upgrade fro 10.4.
    Apple support has not solved the problem. One thing I noticed is in the login dialog box there is no longer a list of options like there was in all versions up through 10.4, like sending password in clear text.
    It is clear, that the two computers see each other given that the request for name and password come up for the target server.

  • Adobe Cirrus:Problems with connection to Cirrus Server

    Hello!
    I am developing applications for the Cirrus.
    Such a problem:
    On some computers, connections to Cirrus server is a long time, sometimes more than 2 minutes ... And sometimes it does not connect(NetConnection.Connect.Failed).
    Possible to fix it? Maybe, somebody know explanation of this?
    Thanks!

    I made this little test to try to check what is wrong:
    while(true){
    Connection conn = openConnection();
    closeConnection(conn);
    Opening Connection:com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerConnection@1835282
    Closing Connection: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerConnection@1835282
    Closed
    ... and it keeps running and running but nothing else happens.This is just what you coded up.
    You'll never exit that loop. while (true) {} runs forever unless you put something inside it to break out, and you did not.
    Looks like the code did exactly what you asked it to. You just didn't know what you were asking.
    Here's what I would do:
    Connection conn = null;
    try
        conn = DriverManager.createConnection(url, username, password);
        DatabaseMetaData meta = conn.getMetaData();
        String product = meta.getDatabaseProductName();
        String version = meta.getDatabaseMajorVersion();
        System.out.println("vendor: " + vendor);
        System.out.println("version: " + version);
    catch (SQLException e)
        e.printStackTrace();
    finally
        // static method with try/catch block
        close(conn);
    }This will be better.
