  • Help with corrupted Photoshop elements 8 photos

My computer was infected by a virus that was deleted but the virus corrupted almost all
files in my computer.  I had some documents backed up but not all current photoshop
    files.
When I open photoshop the photos are there in the organizer but if clicked and opened they
become the broken photo icon.  Other photos in my files show file extension not supported or recognized.
    Any help to recover?
Can I restore to a previous version, all photos show altered 11/23/13 and show no previous
    versions.
If I can't recover the photo files what happens when I uninstall and reinstall the program.  Are
all photos gone?  If so I guess I'll just start fresh with photos saved from about 1 year ago.
Learned my lesson to back-up often!
Thanks for any and all help.

Have you got a backup of your original photos?  If so then you can
recreate the catalogue very easily in less than 5 minutes.  PSE always
leaves photos in their original location.  they are not moved at all.
One should always backup photos, videos, documents, emails etc
separately from applications that created them in the first place.
Disasters happen and we can't always protect from them except to backup
as taught in computing 101 class.

  • Need Help with Corrupted Graphics

I need help real bad. I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to find the reason for crashing in game (not blue screening but corrupted graphics) where the whole screen goes like a television that isn't tuned in, and then after anywhere between 2 to 5 mins my computer will reboot. I'm wondering if anyone has a similar issue, and if there is a fix. I'll list my system specs and a couple of things I have done that hasn't fixed it.
    AMD64 3200+ 939 90mn
    MSI K8N Neo2 - 1.4 bios
    2 x 512mb Geil UltraX
    Leadtek 6800u
    Audigy
    SuperFlower 14cm 500watt
I haven't started to overclock my machine yet as I have yet to fix this problem. Everything is running stock. I'm finding that its random. I can play Prince of Persia Warrior Within for hours on end without a problem. Then play Counterstrike Source and it will go to  after about 5 mins. I decided to try benchmarks and 3dmark01 will do the same thing randomly. Even Battle Field will play for about 10 mins and it will just go to the fuzzy screen. I even heard that some Soundblaster Cards cause problems and have tried using the onboard sound, with no effect. I have also disabled AGP SideBand and AGP Fastwrite in the bios, as also this can cause some issues, to no effect. I thought maybe the video card maybe the problem, and threw a crappy 5700 LE in my machine, still with no effect. CPU temp is around 36c (water cooled) and GPU is around 48c. Does anyone have any idea as to why the screen craps out in just about every game I play. I'm running Winxp Pro SP2 with DX9.0c, with the latest Drivers for everything I'm running (mainboard, vga, sound, etc). If you can suggest something, please let me know.

X-((Well, This sorta sounds like what just happened to me.
My graphics card decided to take a dump on me. When I was playing a game the graphics went all garbled and everything froze. System rebooted a couple times, and yes it seems the cards fan stoped rotating and it fried.
So to me, it sounds like your video. But you say you tried changing video cards with no effect.
Dang.  Sorry I cant think of anything. But on the bright side, your post was bumped.

  • Help with corrupted nested sequences.

First off, let me say that next project I'm going with Avid.
I have been using nested sequences as sparingly as possible on a long, complicated project, but the few that I have are prone to getting "corrupted" (this is the technical  term that Kevin Monahan from Adobe has used to describe what's happening).  So it's been recommended that I replace the corrupted sequence.  Sure I can just copy the material in the corrupted sequence and place it in a new sequence, but how can I do this without loosing my HOURS of edits with this nested sequence in my main timeline?
    Thanks,
    Steve Keller

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
When there is an issue like that, often Disk Warrior or TechTool Pro can fix it. Disk Warrior is generally the preferred program. http://www.alsoft.com/diskwarrior/index.html
You can then back up the files once you get the drive back in shape.

  • Please help with "corrupt" message when first plugging in iPod Video

When I first plug in my iPod video, iTunes launches fine, I see my device and all its contents fine, then receive a message "The iPod "JALF" cannot be updated. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." It does not seem to affect any functionality, but I was curious what it meant. Thanks.

There's a very comprehensive post by forum member Da Gopha on the iTunes corrupt file message now in the user tips section that you may find useful: kipod: If Windows displays an iTunes.exe corrupt file/chkdsk message

  • Please help with corrupted iPod :(

    Hello everyone,
I was listening to music using iTunes on my computer when I suddently got the blue screen of death.
I disconnected the iPod as I was restarting the computer.
Now my Ipod says it's EMPTY, no music or videos but still have my contacts.
When I plug into my computer to use iTunes, it says that I need to restore it.
When I browse through my iPod using windows explorer, I can see all of my music there.
Is there anything I can do without having to restore it?? I have over 90GBs of stuff and do not want to organize EVERYTHING again.
I know I could just copy the files from the iPod to the computer, but I'd really like to have everything organized like I did (playlists, playcount..etc..)

    1) you could read the manual for solutions to reset it.
    2) you could go to Apple/support and type in a search for information related to your problem
    3) you could hardware reset the ipod
    4) you could go to setting and reset all settings
    at worst try something.

  • Help with corrupted db

I've deleted, by mistake, a datafile used by a rollback segment so that I can't connect:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-00376: file 13 cannot be read at this time
    ORA-01110: data file 13: '/data/csr/CSR/rbs/rollCSR_2.dbf'
    How can I solve this?

If you do not have archivelogs you could try to recreate the controlfiles without that datafile and to drop mentioned rollback segment or put it offline.

  • Issue with corrupted document, need Help !

    Dear all,
In our company we use daily Indesign 7.5 (cs 5.5 package) and when we export the .ind document to .pdf the system crash.
Above this the original document (.ind) is corrupted and we're not able to open thedocument.
We loosed a lot of work and we're not able to restore de document.
When we try to open the corrupted document this message appear :
    Can somebody help me?
Thx and have a nice day.

Thank you, yes, we at Markzware can try to help with your corrupt InDesign documents, for sure.
From as far as we can see when dealing with the odd corrupt InDesign file from time to time, is that it comes down to three main reasons why these InDesign documents have issues:
    Font(s)
    Image(s)
    PowerOutage or Forced Stopped
Fonts can indeed be a corrupt font itself, but also corrupt, over-loaded or otherwise odd-balled font caches. Here is a video on how to clear font caches in InDesign and although for a Mac in this video, I think you'll get the idea on how to do that on a PC as well:
One highly corrupted image can ruin the show for your entire file. Check all images individually till you find the bad one and remove that. Also, more times then I can count, InDesign users drag-and-drop images from a web browser while visiting a web page, right into an InDesign layout. That is a big no-no. Not saying your are doing that, but just covering what can happen in the images category and a bad InDesign file.
As for the odd power outage, well that is something maybe Tesla could have helped us with, but until a time when we are not dependant on AC/DC currents, it will remain a sore point. Power in your cases is likely not the issue though.
Always report issues like these to Adobe though. They can also often help and if not right away, at least they may gather important details to help stop that type of corruption in the future.
If all else fails and as mentioned, we as Markzware can help try and fix your files - Bad InDesign or Quark File Recovery Service
    Friendly Regards,

  • Getting JPEG Library Error for Corrupt JPEG Data using CS5

After recently upgrading to CS5 I am getting JPEG Library Errors for corrupt JPEG data. I have my old PC still in use that uses CS4 and does not generate these errors when accessing the same site. Could someone please assist me in how to get rid of these errors using CS5? I can't find help out there anywhere for this!
    Thanks in advance!

You could use Photoshop's Image Processor to open all of your jpegs in a given folder, make a slight tweek and resave them in the hopes of cleaning out any errors that DW is hitting. It's worth a shot maybe.
    1. In PS go to File > Scripts > Image Processor
    2. For Step 1, browse to a folder in your site with jpeg issues
    3. For Step 2, choose save in same location
    4. For Step 3, choose Save as JPEG and check Convert File to sRGB
    5. Click Run
This will create a sub folder called JPEG with the images resaved there. You can drag them into the parent folder to replace the originals.
If you haven't already, make sure to report the bug here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
At least the right people will be made aware of it then and if it's common enough to trip whatever quantity/user reports system they use, it would get included for repair.
I honestly don't think it's a "bug" per se, since the forum isn't absolutely flooded with the problem.

  • Corrupt JPEG: Bad Huffman Code

    Hello
I've been having intermittent trouble with images going all
crazy on me. I have Dreamweaver 8 on my Intel based Mac. I
downloaded the free trial version of CS3 onto my husband's PC and
when I tried opening the same document on his computer I get
"Corrupt JPEG File: Bad Huffman code". Does anyone know what this
means and how do I fix it. This has happened the odd time before.
    Please help!

  • Corrupt jpeg

I've searched the archives but not much help there. I'm
getting a sporadic corrupt jpeg error. When it happens it occurs
when I'm ABOUT to create a new page from a template. I haven't been
able to determine yet if I've actually selected the dwt (I think it
happens when I get to the asset tab). When it occurs it repeats 3
    times.
The dilemma is that it gives no indication which jpeg file is
corrupt and so far I've seen no indication that any jpeg I'm
    working with isn't displaying properly.
    Any thoughts?
    Tom
[EDIT] Did some more testing. The error message is being
displayed when I switch from the files to the asset tab before I
select the template. This is an intermittent problem meaning that
it doesn't happen all the time and I haven't yet figured out how to
    recreate it.

The error message is a red herring. It has nothing to do with
    JPG images.
I have no idea what causes it, but I do know that Adobe is
    interested in
    fixing it.

  • DW Windows claims corrupt JPEGs; Mac doesn't

When I open a certain site in DW 8.0.2 Windows, it complains
that some of the JPEGs are corrupt (it won't say which) by bringing
up a "Corrupt JPEG data" dialog and sometimes an additional dialog
complaining about data after a certain marker.
However, opening the same site in the Macintosh version
reveals no problems at all, even when the site images are exact
copies. No browser has any problems with any file on the site, and
a wide selection of graphics programs on both platforms have no
problem opening any of the files.
Is the Windows version ultra-picky about JPEG conformity? Is
it a bug? And in any event, how do I locate the files that DW Win
dislikes (that's quicker than dismissing a string of dialog boxes,
ie does not involve removing blocks of images until the problem
goes away and then putting them back again)?
    Any observations welcome.
    Thanks,
