HELP with cover flow

This is a simple question, in brief i have tons of covers of the SAME album, because there are different artists in a album and i DON'T want this, i want just the cover of the album, not all the artists sub-categories.
I'll post a photo as example.

Do you think they would look better on a 'white' backgound ?
I do.
This is a way to ask... is there any way to set the 'cover flow' view mode
to use a white backgournd and not the dead black space that is the default
color?

Finder Bug Renaming files with cover flow

If I try to rename a file using finder with cover flow using left and right arrows for moving in the filename, it goes up and down on file selection

A similar issue is evident in "List" view, when renaming a file inside a folder whose "disclosure triangle" is expanded. If you happen to be working a few levels down, it closes them all.

"House of mirrors" bug with cover flow

Anyone else having this? House of mirrors with cover flow.
It appears to be a redrawn / VRAM issua. I'm running iTunes 7 on an iBook G3 500 (with 8MB of VRAM). If I choose to thousands of colors or lower the resolution, things work fine.
However, I haven't heard anyone reporting anythin like this. It's also happening in an iMac G3 500.

Anyways, I the computer isn't able to display cover flow, it should appear a warning of some kind. I want to be able to use iTunes 7 even if I can't use cover flow.

I am having problems with cover flow on my i phone when i change to landscape and flick through covers it is very unstabale and jerky and eventually crashes out.

A PC can have more issues connecting than a Mac.
But it really should not matter.. so just try it in situ.. press and hold the reset.. once it starts up, it will return to default IP, 10.0.1.1 the PC should then be able to find it via the airport utility.
If not drag it over to the Mac and plug in there by ethernet.. or since it is a laptop, really should not be that difficult to drag the Laptop and plug it into the TC.
Important thing is to get access to the TC.
The Mac if it is running lion, then you MUST download and install 5.6 airport utility to do anything useful.

Problem with Cover Flow View

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem and I think it was from when there were some Vista updates this morning. Firstly my Podcasts wouldn't play but thats now been sorted by a FAQ but the cover flow view is all messed up and I can't seem to sort it. The covers are there and appear for a couple of seconds and then go green/black and white with lines through them. In Album view, the covers are fine but just the cover flow (which is the one I love to use! Anyone got any suggestions or having the same problem?

Okay. I'm still inclined to check on drivers, because your QuickTime version may have gone up a version with the recent iTunes install. (QuickTime can be sensitive to drivers ... and even though the video drivers are up to date, other driver/whatnot updates on a Dell may also help with video performance.)
The Inspiron 6400/E1505 32-bit vista page is one that i can't get a link for (i can navigate to the page, but the URL that shows up in my web browser once i've gotten there doesn't work for linking purposes).
So try heading to the XP page for that model, going up to the top of the page where it says Operating System: Windows XP Change OS, clicking Change OS, and selecting "Windows Vista 32-bit":

Once you're at the Windows 32-bit Vista page for that model, check in particular on the following things:
Check to see if the Chipset - Driver for your Intel Mobile Chipset is up to date.
Check to see if your Dell Inspiron 6400/E1505 System BIOS is up to date.
After you've applied any updates (if any are applicable), do you have any better luck with the Cover Flow view?

Need help please: cover flow sort order logic

is there a official document / specification from apple where the sort order and the settings of the corresponding tags (album, album artist, compilation on/off) of the cover flow is described?

1) sorted by artist for compilation = off, following
2) sorted by album for compilation = on
this was fine for me.

Cover flow doesn't much with cover flow in iTunes

My cover flow on the iPod is not 100% replica of the iTunes. For example in I tunes last cover is the last letter in the alphabet. On my iPod classic there are many cd showing after that point. Another example in Itunes I am showing 4 Rod Stewart CDs in Ipod are showing 3 of them the other somewhere at the end of the carousel.
I erased the ipod and started from fresh... the same thing.
Does anyone have a solution or this is iPod bug?

In iTunes you can change the order of the cover flow by ordering on different columns and can choose whether to group compilations. On the iPod the order is always the equivalent of Albums by Artist with compilations grouped at the end. The iPod also appears to give the artist field priority over album artist which can cause problems with albums that have featured artists. If your album artist has more than one album, with some tracks that feature guest artists, you may get repeated covers. This can be fixed by setting the sort artist field to the value of the album artist for each track with a guest artist. Another problem is that each album requires a unique title to avoid clashing with other titles of the same name. If you have a number of albums called "Greatest Hits" for example, when you select one of these to play it you will find the tracks from every Greatest Hits album are listed. This can be fixed by renaming albums along the lines of <Artist>, <Album>.

Problem with Cover flow

often times when I have iTunes open in cover flow view and switch to another window using Exposé cover flow goes all whack (see photo). Has anybody else had this problem? What can I do about it?

Your picture appears to be of a Mac desktop. You might want to post your problem on the forum that is meant for mac users. This one is for windows users. I'm surprised by your problem. I have noticed a lot of problems with the way itunes uses video refreshing, but I assumed the problems were because apple didn't want its windows version to work too well. It is the slowest and most frustrating application on my machine, but I assumed it would work pretty well on a mac. Anyways, good luck.

More options with cover flow

Is there a way to make cover flow only go through files that you have artwork for? When I'm browing for a CD by cover, I generally want to only listen to complete albums and I'd rather not page through all of the music note covers of files with no cover art.
Maybe I'm being too picky.

I did look for a similar idea, I know it has been requested but I didn't locate one to point you to, you might spend a few minutes looking (more votes on one idea holds more weight than multiple similar ideas) and if you don't find one create a new idea by clicking "Create Idea" in the upper right.

Problem with Cover Flow full screen view in 10.6

I like to use the Cover Flow full screen view in iTunes on my monitor. Since upgrading to iTunes 10.6 Cover Flow full screen view will revert to Cover Flow standard view between each song. This did not occur with any previous version of iTunes. Is there a setting that will prevent Cover Flow automatically switching back to standard view from full screen view?

I guess I am the only one experiencing this issue of Cover Flow full screen view collapsing to standard view when a song within an album or playlist changes. This began in 10.6 and has continued in 10.6.1. At least I have not experienced the more serious issues others have with 10.6.

Problem with Cover-Flow display

Hello!
Whenever I play compilations Cover-Flow doesn´t display "Interpret" in the third column but "Album-Interpret" (screenshot 1). However, I set the "Album-Interpret" Tag to the whole compilation´s tite so that Itunes displays all tracks in one Block (screenshot 2).
The Problem is that now the artist´s name is not displayed i this view.
Does anybody have an idea how to solve this?

Problems with "Cover flow" mode

I read some posts about wrong order of songs or pictures in cover flow mode, but I think the problem is much more serious:
I wanted to delete the junk pictures that I downloaded from my iPhone and I decided to do that in the cover flow mode because I thought it was the most convenient view mode.
I browsed the pictures and when I decided I wanted to delete one I would push Command+Delete. I noticed that the picture I was trying to delete would stay there. I tried again and again and it wouldn't go away. I tried that multiple times on multiple files and eventually I noticed that the finder was actually deleting files, but unfortunately not the highlighted ones. I found multiple pictures in the trash that I didn't want to delete.
Anybody has the same experience? Any comment? Haven't Apple geniuses noticed that yet?

Help with program flow and timing a loop please

I'm working on an application that will display vibration data on several tabs. 1 tab displays the time waveform, another a running RMS value, another an FFT etc.
On another tab I want the user to have the option of streaming the data to disk for 'x' number of seconds.
I created a sub-vi with a flat sequence structure.
The first frame open/creates a file. The second frame gets the current time in seconds and adds 'x' seconds to it. The third frame contains a while loop with a "Get Current Time in Seconds" and a "Write to Binary File" which executes while the current time is less than the "previous current time plus 'x'".
This sub-vi is in a while loop that is called when a "capture data" button is pressed.
My problem is that the rest of the program (waveform, RMS, FFT displays) stops executing when the while loop / sub-vi is executing.
This can be seen via the "TEST" indicator that doesn't update.
When the program flow goes back to the rest of the program I get an error 'cause the buffer has over-flown (ed)
I'm really new at this so any help is greatly appreciated.
I've attached images of the main vi (Project3.pdf) and the sub-vi containing the Flat Sequence (WriteToDisk.pdf)

The behavior you're seeing is by design. There are two solutions to your problem:
Place the write to file in a separate loop that runs in parallel to your main loop. Thus, your "Project3" VI would have two loops. One is the data acquisition, the other is the streaming to file. You should not create data dependencies between the loops that would cause one loop to wait until the other is done. You want both running in parallel. You can stop both loops with the same stop button. With this method you can use local variables to get the Time Waveform data as you're doing now.
Launch the stream to file VI dynamically. This basically uses the VI Server to start a subVI and then immediately return to the caller. The subVI is then running on its own. There are examples that ship with LabVIEW that show you how to do this. You would have to have the subVI monitor something to determine if it should stop should the main program stop.
The first option would be the easiest to implement in your case. The second is more complex, but leaves you with one loop.

What is Wrong with Cover Flow?

Hello Everyone
i have been using a Mac for a while now,(Since OS 9) and recently, my MacBook has started not wanting to stay in the Finder Coverflow mode.I use the Coverflow mode constantly, and would like it to stay in that mode.
If I press the Coverflow button, it works fine, but, once i close the window, it reverts back to the icon grid view.If anyone can help me with this problem, this would be greatly appreciated.

Starting with Leopard the Finder no longer assigns the last view of a window automatically to that window. You have to explicitly tell the Finder you want the window to always open in a particular view. You can assign a default, but that will only apply to windows that don't already have one. You access all this through the menu item View->Show View Options when you have a window open. Thus you want to open a folder, go to View Options with the window set the way you want it, check the "Always Open in..." box at the top, then click the "Use as Defaults" button at the bottom of the Options window. I don't much care for the new system, but no one asked me. Apple was attempting to address the chorus of complaints about the inability to set the default behavior of windows in the Finder...this is their solution.
