Help with dmz or port forwarding on Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L

I really need help with this I want to play gta v but I have strict nat type on ps4 and everytime I go to the dmz on the ip website it shows the ip and the other side shows add and a dot I click on my ip and click apply but it tells me delete this ip but it also won't even let me delete the ip

You may wish to ask this question over at the Verizon Wireless forums: https://www.verizonwireless.com/community . This community is for DSL and FiOS support, not LTE hotspot support.
Be aware, Verizon Wireless uses Carrier-grade NAT, and your Hotspot also performs NAT. Game consoles do not like being behind Double NAT. Depending on how your hotspot is set up on the back end, you may only be able to achieve Moderate NAT / NAT 2 on the hotspot. If your hotspot has a public Internet IP, you should be able to hit Open NAT.

  • Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L. Is there a problem with Windows 7?????

I have Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L. Have had it for almost 2 years. I was on the internet with my Dell desktop and all of a sudden got a message "not connected to Internet". Spent an hour with Verizon and the Jetpack works fine on my NOOK and another tablet and they said to call Dell. After an hour with them they said Windows 7 is not compatible with a HotSpot and they do not support it.  I had a friend check out my computer (as Dell wanted over $200) and found nothing wrong and it connected fine to his wifi, with no problem.  So HELP what is wrong with my Verizon Hotspot??

I don't see that anything is wrong with your Hotspot from the description you posted here.
First of all the network status indicator built by Win7 is not 100% reliable to begin with.  MS has a simple algorithm that it uses to check internet resources.  When those resources do not respond the status indicator will bounce back and update the user accordingly.  You should always perform your own internet check by manually navigating to Google.com or another public website rather than depend on what Win7 is telling you.
Second of all you know your Jetpack was working because your other personal devices were working.  This makes me think there was some kind of a temporary glitch that would normally be resolved by rebooting either the Jetpack or your PC.
Finally, Dell does not support VZW devices.  When they say the hotspot is not supported they mean Dell does not support VZW products.  You may have misinterpreted what was said.  Dell is only going to support the Dell PC hardware and very basic Win7 problems such as walking you though the connection process.  When something is wrong with the network connection they will always tell you that it is not supported as they have no control over 3rd party vendors.  Win7 supports the Jetpack just fine, the Jetpack is a WiFi hotspot just like any other from Win7s perspective.
If you are having more troubles in the future then I suggest starting with a simple reboot of your devices.  Post back to us here and let us know if that is the case or not.

  • Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L Help

Hello how are you? I am doing well. I am trying to set up the Verizon Jetpack on my desktop. I am clueless how to do that. I have it on my laptop. I just want it on my destop...
I have windows 7 and HP desktop. I just recently bought the computer. So I don't have no internet on the desktop. And the Jetpack is how I connect to the interenet. As so many others due.. So I really need step by step intructions on how to do this. I know that it can be done. I have emailed verizon but have not heard back from them..
    Thanks
    Melissa

Bsufan09, I'm doing great and I'm here to fill in the clues for you about setting up your Hotspot. Since the Hotspot is not setup to be used with VZAccess Manager or via USB cable, you would connect wirelessly the same as you do on your laptop. There is no software to install. Does your desktop have a wireless card installed? Normally Windows 7 will show an icon at the bottom right with the signal bars. This is your wireless network connection screen. To connect to a WiFi network, you can tap that icon and search available connections. Here is some more info with screenshots. http://bit.ly/WioTlT

  • Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot Nat Type

Is there any way to change the nat type to open on this bad boy?
It's a great device and there aren't any problems with it, it does what I need except connect to people I want to connect to.
I casually use it to play games and I can connect to some people, from here in indiana to all the way down in texas, but my friend down the road, noooopee.
The only way to connect to him is to have a host connect us so we can never play just us.
I've tried everything else and I'm almost 100% sure that it is the NAT settings keeping this from working.
    Long story short:
Can you change the  Verizon Jetpack™ 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot NAT settings?
If no, why on earth not?

The only way Port Forwarding can be effective is if the governing firewall approves the network communication in the first place.  The older 3G and 1x networks were well known to allow many custom protocols where as the new 4G network has nearly everything locked down.
Theoretically if you can get onto the old networks your port forwarding modifications would work.
However, VZW has been tightening its grip on the older 3G networks so you may have to wait for a specific IP Assignement before you can have confirmation that it will work.  That may require rebooting the device multiple times until you happen to get assigned a "Good" IP.
Not sure why your signin credentials are changing as you switch from one network to another.  The same router admin credentials should not be impacted by these changes.  It should always be admin/admin or something similar by default.

  • I'm using my Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MHS291L to wirelessly connect my printer to my desktop and tablet will the printer use my monthly data to print/recieve info from my computer/tablet

I know a normal wireless router would allow me to connect my printer to my desktop and tablet but will using my Verizon Jetpack® 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MHS291L as a access point incur data usage each month?

Hello Heath76, you pose an excellent question! Yes, if the Jetpack is used as an access point for any of the devices listed it will incur data usage.

  • Need some help with ip camera port forwarding

Setting up a ip wireless security camera to provide internet access thru a airport extreme router. Using the free ip scanner software provided with the  camera, I can see and connect to the camera on my own home network, wirelessly. I believe that port forwarding will give me access to the camera outside the local network. I'd like to be sure I am setting up the port forwarding correctly. Also if I decide to use back to my Mac in the future will this camera setup interfere with the settings?

OK I figured out how to Port forward and how to do DHCP reservations. Unfortunately the latest 5th Gen Airport extreme software has a bug and neither ip Cam would work. Rolling back the software on the Airport to a previous version finally allowed the DHCP reservations to work. But the port forwarding or something is not working. I can not log on to the ip cams remotely or wirelessly. I may have to borrow a different Wireless router from a IT friend and disconnect the Airport Extreme, to get the cams on wirelessly. Hopefully they fix the problem some day.

  • AirPort Extreme and Verizon's Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot SCHLC11

Has anyone had any success using Verizon's Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot SCHLC11 with their Airaport Extreme?
My home network consists of two AirPort Extremes, an iMac, two AppleTV2s, an iPad, an iphone4 and a Canon Printer.
The problem is that I just moved to a rural area where there is no cable or DSL Internet provider.  Satellite is available but is too slow and too expensive.  My best option is Verizon's 4G LTE.
So the question is this: Is it possible to wirelessly connect my AirPort Extremes to the wireless Internet signal from the Samsung Mobile Hotspot (WiFi out only) so that my home network has access to the Internet?

I know its a little late but to answer your question "has anyone had any success using this Verizon Samsung 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot as their primary home WiFi router?"
Yes with a Cradlepoint router. I use the MBR1100 which allows me to use mutiple air cards, or the MBR900 for use of just one card. Once that is set up you can use your Airport Express to extend the network as you need.
    Hope this helps

  • Can you add data to a  4g lte mobil hotspot through my verizon

I have an  iphone 4  on my current "my Verizon", can a 4g lte mobil hotspot be managed with that account ?

You can add the 2GB of hotspot data either on line or by calling *611 or 1-800-922-0204  I believe some cell plans have the hotspot included.

  • WRT310N: Help with DMZ/settings (firmware 1.0.09) for wired connection

Hello. I have a WRT310N and have been having a somewhat difficult time with my xbox 360's connection. I have forwarded all the necessary ports (53, 80, 88, 3074) for it to run, and tried changing MTU and what-not.
I don't know if I have DMZ setup incorrectly, or if it's my settings.
    Setup as follows:
PCX2200 modem connected via ethernet to WRT310N.
The WRT310N has into ethernet port 1 a WAP54G, and then upstairs (so that my Mother's computer can get a strong signal) I have another WAP54G that I believe receives its signal from the downstairs 54G.
In the back of the WRT310N, I have my computer connected via ethernet port 3, and my Xbox 360 connected via ethernet port 4.
Now, I first figured I just have so many connections tied to the router and that is the reason for being so slow. However, when I unplug all the other ethernet cords and nothing is connected wirelessly, except for my Xbox connected to ethernet port 4, it is still poor. Also, with everything connected (WAP54G and other devices wirelessly) I get on my PC and run a speedtest.  For the sake of advice, my speedtests I am running on my PC are (after 5 tests) averagely 8.5 Mbps download, and 1.00 Mbps upload, with a ping of  82ms.
Here is an image of the results:
    http://www.speedtest.net][IMG]http://www.speedtest.net/result/721106714.png
Let me add a little more detail of my (192.168.1.1) settings for WRT310N.
For starters, my Father's IT guy at his workplace set up this WRT310N and WAP54G's. So some of these settings may be his doing. I just don't know which.
"Setup" as Auto-configurations DHCP. I've added my Xbox's IP address to the DHCP reservation the IP of 192.168.1.104. This has (from what I've noticed) stayed the same for days.
MTU: Auto, which stays at 1500 when I check under status.
Advanced Routing: NAT routing enabled, Dynamic Routing disabled.
Security: Disabled SPI firewall, UNchecked these: Filter Anonymous Internet Requests, Multicast, and Internet NAT redirection.
VPN passthrough: All 3 options are enabled (IPSec, PPTP, L2TP)
    Access Restrictions: None.
Applications and Gaming: Single port forwarding has no entries. Port Range Forwarding I have the ports 53 UDP/TCP, 88 UDP, 3074 UDP/TCP, and 80 TCP forwarded to IP 192.168.1.104 enabled. (192.168.1.104 is the IP for my xbox connected via ethernet wired that is in DHCP reserved list)
Port Range Triggering: It does not allow me to change anything in this page.
DMZ: I have it Enabled. This is where I am a bit confused. It says "Source IP Address" and it has me select either "Any IP address" or to put entries to the XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX to XXX fields. I have selected use any IP address. Then the source IP area, it says "Destination:"  I can do either "IP address: 192.168.1.XXX" or "MAC address:" Also, under MAC Address, it says DHCP Client Table and I went there and saw my Xbox under the DHCP client list (It shows up only when the Xbox is on) and selected it.
Under QoS: WMM Enabled, No acknowledgement disabled.
Internet Access Priority: Enabled. Upstream Bandwith I set it to Manual and put 6000 Kbps. I had it set on Auto before, but I changed it. I have no idea what to put there so I just put a higher number.
Then I added for Internet Access Priority a Medium Priority for Ethernet Port 4 (the port my xbox is plugged into).
Administration: Management: Web utility access: I have checked HTTP, unchecked HTTPS.
Web utility access via Wireless: Enabled. Remote Access: Disabled.
    UPnp: Enabled.
    Allow Users to Configure: Enabled.
Allow users to Disable Internet Access: Enabled.
Under Diagnostics, when I try and Ping test 192.168.1.104 (xbox when on and connected to LIVE), I get:
    PING 192.168.1.104 (192.168.1.104): 24 data bytes
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    Request timed out.
    --- 192.168.1.104 data statistics ---
5 Packets transmitted, 0 Packets received, 100% Packet loss
Also, when I do Traceroute Test for my Xbox's IP, I just keep getting:
traceroute to 192.168.1.104 (192.168.1.104), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
    1 * * * 192.168.1.1 Request timed out.
    2 * * * 192.168.1.1 Request timed out.
As for the Wireless Settings, it is all on the default settings with Wi-Fi Protected setup Enabled.
To add, I have tried connecting my modem directly to the Xbox and my connection is much improved. I have no difficulty getting the NAT open, for it seems my settings are working for that. Any help with these settings would be VERY much appreciated.

I own 2 of these routers (one is a spare) with the latest firmware and I have been having trouble with them for over a year.  In my case the connection speed goes to a crawl and the only way to get it back is to disable the SPI firewall.  Rebooting helps for a few minutes, but the problem returns.  All of the other fixes recommended on these forums did not help.  I found out the hard way that disabling the SPI Firewall also closes all open ports ignoring your port forwarding settings.  If you have SPI Firewall disabled, you will never be able to ping your IP from an external address.  Turn your SPI Firewall back on and test your Ping.

  • WRT120N - DMZ works, port forwarding doesn't work; only one device allowed in DMZ

    Hi,
I have an WRT120N router and two DVRs.  I can get either one of the DVRs to work just fine if I put it in the DMZ.  Neither one works when I enable port forwarding.  Since I cannot have two devices in the DMZ with this router, I cannot use that approach (throwing them in the DMZ) as a viable solution.
I need help finding out what I am doing incorrectly with the port forwarding.  Basically I am creating an entry for each port of each device, going to the correct IP address of that device.  I have tried both protocols as well as just TCP.  This does not work.  Just for fun, I tried using the port range forwarding and this does not work either.  The only thing that works is if I throw either of the devices in the DMZ.
So what I have essentially is this:
DEVICE1 / 192.168.0.120 (internal) / PORT 999 / works great in DMZ but not in port fwd
DEVICE2 / 192.168.0.121 (internal) / PORT 456 / works great in DMZ but not in port fwd
I have used Wireshark from a remote computer to observe what happens when I navigate to the URL that I need, such as http://myjunk.ddnsprovider.xyz:999 (where 999 is the port on which the device in question serves).  I don't see anything out of the ordinary.  (I assume there is no way to run a packet sniffer on the router.)  (Can we "telnet" into the router, btw?)
So either I am doing something wrong, or there is a need for a router software update, or the router is blocking some other protocol, etc.  Help is much appreciated!  BTW, tried with the router firewall off, too.  No go.
    Regards,
    Mike

Whats the current firmware installed on your router? Have you tried to upgrade the firmware on your Router?

  • Help needed to do port forwarding in ipfw...

For the last weeks I have been working to get the new open-source content management system Alfresco working. It is a pure Java web application that runs under Tomcat. There is official support for Mac OS X but only Windows and Linux gets true installer binaries with guides and everything.
The unique thing about this platform is that it has a built in Java-based CIFS/SMB-server to expose the content not only in web browser but as a mounted volume as well. However, it turned out more than difficult to get that working in my Mac OS X Server 10.4.9 running on an XServe G5 2.0Ghz.
I can run the startup script for the Tomcat as root on my laptop running Mac OS X 10.4.9 and then the CIFS-server can use standard ports like 137, 138, 139 and 445. Finder can mount that as a volume called Alfresco. However, I do not want to run it as root because of several other issues related to X11. There is a note in the installation text that if running the script not as root but as admin or a designated Alfresco user requires port forwarding. That means setting up firewall rules to forward requests from the standard CIFS TCP ports 139/445 to the non-privileged ports the Alfresco CIFS server is listening on (which are 1137,1138,1139 and 1145).
I have understood that this is not possible through the Server Admin GUI-app but needs to be done either in the terminal or by using an app like WaterRoof. I guess also Apple´s server tools are famous for overwriting config files made by a "third-party" app. However, I can't make it work and ipfw syntax still looks very confusing to me. Any ideas of what I need to do in order to have this port forwarding to work.
I have tried something like this so far:
    # ! /bin/sh
echo "Setup CIFS Port Forwarding ..."
    sysctl -w net.inet.ip.fw.enable=1
    sysctl -w net.inet.ip.forwarding=1
    sysctl -w net.inet.ip.fw.verbose=1
    sysctl -w net.inet.ip.fw.debug=0
#ipfw add 100 count log ip from any to any
ipfw add 200 allow ip from any to any via lo0
    # Forward native SMB and NetBIOS sessions to non-privileged ports
ipfw add 300 fwd 192.168.1.2,1445 tcp from any to any dst-port 445 in
ipfw add 400 fwd 192.168.1.2,1139 tcp from any to any dst-port 139 in
    # Forward NetBIOS datagrams to non-privileged ports
ipfw add 500 fwd 192.168.1.2,1137 udp from any to any dst-port 137 in
ipfw add 600 fwd 192.168.1.2,1138 udp from any to any dst-port 138 in
Windows filesharing i Mac OS X Server is turned off and there are firewall rules to allow traffic on the designated ports.
    http://www.alfresco.com
Any hints would be very helpful!

Ok, thanks for the tip. Had a look at that page and it was only about NAT which is not what I am looking for. I have a server with public IP where I need to forward from one port to another on the same IP. However, I find the information about how to configure IPFW rather limited so I wanted to know if the rules in the first post look right and what pitfalls there are when using the GUI-based server admin tools from Apple

  • Nginx client_ip in log file, with ssh -R Port forwarding

    Hi, everyone!
First, I run a nginx server M1 (in my offce)  behind a router R1 and M1's IP addr is 192.168.5.126. I set nginx's log format like this:
    log_format main '$remote_addr - $remote_user [$time_local] "$request" '
    '$status $body_bytes_sent "$http_referer" '
    '"$http_user_agent" "$http_x_forwarded_for"';
After that, I will get the correct client ip in the access log.
    192.168.5.88 - - [21/Apr/2015:11:12:47 +0800] "GET /js/date.js HTTP/1.1" 200 403 "http://192.168.5.126/" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/41.0.2272.118 Safari/537.36" "-"
Then, I want to visit M1 outside (in the campus) .  Unfortunately, I can do nothing with the router R1. But I have a router R2 whose framework is OpenWrt and its IP 222.xx.xx.xx can be visited by anyone who has logged into the campus network.
Then I wrote a autossh service to do that:
    [Unit]
Description=AutoSSH service for local port 80 forwarded to 222.xx.xx.xx:80
    # place this in /etc/systemd/system/, than enable this.
    After=network.target
    Requires=nginx.service
    After=nginx.service
    [Service]
    Environment="AUTOSSH_GATETIME=0" "AUTOSSH_POLL=60" "AUTOSSH_LOGFILE=/var/log/nginxssh.log"
    ExecStart=/usr/bin/autossh -M 22000 -NR 222.xx.xx.xx:808:localhost:808 -NR 222.xx.xx.xx:80:localhost:80 -o TCPKeepAlive=yes -p xxxx [email protected] -i /home/username/.ssh/id_rsa
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
Yeah, It works! BUT BUT when someone visits 222.xx.xx.xx, I lost the  the client ip in nginx log file. That would always be 127.0.0.1, why?
    127.0.0.1 - - [27/Apr/2015:00:34:07 +0800] "GET /static/mathjax/MathJax.js?config=TeX-AMS_HTML HTTP/1.1" 304 0 "http://222.xx.xx.xx:808/url/jakevdp.github.com/downloads/notebooks/XKCD_plots.ipynb" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:37.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/37.0" "-"
After ``ssh -R Port forwarding``,  client ip is lost?
If so,  what should I use to replace ``ssh -R``?

It seems there is a port forwarding configuration trouble with you modem.
When you access from the WAN or from the LAN, you don't enter in you modem the same way, so the behavior is different.
It seems that the port 22 of your modem is not directly forwarded to your server. The modem itself asks you a login/password. The key-pair authentification is between laptop and server. The modem itself is not recognized during this authentification.
Don't touch your ssh-config. It's OK since it was working for monthes before you change your modem.

  • Connecting HP Officejet Pro 8600 to Verizon JetPack 4G-LTE

Hi, as you can probably guess I am trying to connect my HP Officejet Pro 8600 to my wireless Verizon hotspot.  I have tried to use the "Wireless Setup Wizard".  When prompted I chose the correct network, and entered the correct password.  After some time the printer displays:
    Connection Successful
    IP: No Link
    Network Name: Not applicable
followed by a Hostname and the MAC address of the printer.  When I try to view the wireless connection the window states that I am not connected (as suspected). I then printed the "Wireless Network Test Results".  It reports "No problems found. Congratulations on the successful setup of your wireless printer." and everything under the "Diagnostics Results" section passes. Under the "Current Configuration" section the correct SSID is displayed, however the IP address comes up as 0.0.0.0 (which means I am not connected?).
Also, I checked the Jetpack's configuration page and the MAC filtering is disabled.
Is it possible to connect this printer to a Verizon Jetpack (MiFi)? If so, what am I doing wrong?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

It looks like the printer is connecting to the network, just not receiving any IP information.
I will provide the simplest solution that typically resolves this issue.  To receive the best results, be certain to follow them in order.
    1.  Power off the JetPack.
    2.  Disconnect the power to the printer while it is on for 1 minute.
    3.  Power on the JetPack and wait for the network connection to come back up.  This can be easily identified when other devices start connecting to it again.
    4.  Reconnect the power to the printer and wait for the home screen to finish loading.
    5.  Press the antenna icon and select Settings.
    6.  Scroll down and select Restore Network Defaults.
    7.  Once that is completed, reconnect the printer to the network with the Wireless Setup Wizard.
DHCP, dynamic host configuration protocol, is responsible for assigning IP information to devices automatically as they connect.  It is possible to connect to a network without DHCP, there just won't be any communication unless IP settings are set manually.

  • Need help with Airport Extreme and my new Verizon Fios Internet connection

I just got the Fios install, and the tech and I couldn't figure out how to use my Airport Extreme as my wireless connection. I'm not real tech savvy (and I've only been a Mac guy for about 18 months). My current arrangement is the basic Verizon setup with the Airport out of the loop. How can I go about moving from here back to using my Airport Extreme? I need the range! Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you tried resetting and reconfiguring the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS)?
Are you using OS 10.5 or OS 10.4 or earlier?
Are you using the round 802.11b/g AEBS or the square 802.11b/g/n AEBS?
If you are using OS10.5 OR the square 802.11b/g/n AEBS you should refer to "Designing AirPort Networks Using AirPort Utility" (direct PDF link).
Otherwise you should refer to "Designing AirPort Extreme Networks" (direct PDF link).
