CS5 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7. You cannot install any later version for use with CS5.

Unfortunately the 60D requires Camera Raw 7.3 or later meaning you cannot open Raw files from the 60D in CS5.
Unless you upgrade your only option is to install the free Adobe DNG converter, convert your 60D Raw files to DNG then open the DNG files in CS5.

Appreciate help - problem downloading Camera Raw 6.7

PS Bridge (CS5) would not read my Canon XG1 Raw files and it told me to update CR - I tried to update Camera Raw and it said it was downloading 6.7 and 6.8 but that there was an error in the download and it couldn't/wouldn't install it. It pointed me here for help. Would appreciate any advice you can give, thanks.

I see a Canon G1 X and a G1 X Mark II listed no XG1. Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras If you have a G1 X ACR 6.7 should work and is the newest version of ACR that CS5 can use.

Tried to reinstall everything for a few times, but nothing helps.

When I search for updates the raw converter doesnt get update automaticly. Frustrating, is costing me the whole morning.

If the camera is fairly new then the version of ACR you have with CS5 won't be able to read those file. You'll need to upgrade to a newer version of Photoshop or use Lightroom 5.
Once a new version of Photoshop comes out Adobe does not support updating ACR from the older version of PS.

Which camera make and model are your Raw files from?
Camera Raw ships with Photoshop and is constantly upgraded by Adobe to keep up with new cameras as they are released to market.
It's likely that your camera requires a version of Camera Raw which is not compatible with your CS5. Or you may simply need to upgrade Camera Raw via Help > Updates in Photoshop.

Trouble with Adobe Camera Raw, Nikon D750, Photoshop CC 2014

I have Photoshop CC 2014 running on an HP ZBook 15 with Windows 7 Professional. I recently downloaded Camera Raw 8.7.311. I did not install the DNG converter. I shoot raw in my Nikon D750. I download the NEF images to my HP laptop using a memory card reader. I installed Bridge from Creative Cloud. When I check in Photoshop CC 2014, it says the Camera Raw 8.7.1.311 plug-in is present. But if I try to open a NEF image, it fails and says it is an unsupported file type. When I go into Bridge, the "Open using Camera Raw" option is faded and cannot be selected. So what do I do? Success! My problem was I had the old version of the Nikon software on my computer and I had used that to download the photos. I copied the NEF files directly from my memory card reader and then could open them no problem in Photoshop CC 2014. Many thanks to gener7 and all who made suggestions.

I've downloaded camera raw 5.4 for CS4. I have a Canon Ti1. When I try to install the update, I keep getting the message to close the following application and retry to continue installing update. The application is Adobe Bridge. I don't have it open, I've shut down the computer and retry installing and I keep getting the same message. Help! what am I'm doing wrong? You sure Bridge isn't running? Do you have the option to Launch Bridge on Startup in Bridge preferences active? If so Bridge will launch silently in the background as a start up item. You'll need to actually QUIT Bridge to install the the ACR update...

The support for that camera was added in the very latest release of Lightroom, version 5.7.1. Having downloaded Camera Raw 8.7.1 will have no effect on Lightroom because Lightroom doesn't use the Camera Raw plug-in. You need to make sure you have updated Lightroom to the very latest release in order to have support for that camera.

You need to download and install ACR 6.7, which will work with CS5 and with your D800. ACR 7.1 only works with Photoshop CS6.

Downloading camera RAW updates

As I recall, the issue of downloading camera RAW updates from Adobe has been addressed many times before. However, I've found that downloading the updates via Adobe's Internet updates download page on my Win 7 computer fail. I have to open Editor/Help/Updates to successfully download them. Works okay, but I can't help but wonder why downloading them from the Adobe's Internet page doesn't work?

I just updated PSE9 manually to ACR 6.4.1.
Worked fine.
