Help with dreamweaver extension buid

I have written a very useful extension for dreamweaver that
works perfectly. But now I want it to insert the code ABOVE the
html rather then being forced to insert it somewhere between the
body tags. what needs to happen to make that change?
I tried using things like
var dom = dw.getDocumentDOM();
dom.source.startOfDocument();
but couldn't implement correctly apparently.
I'm currently using the function objectTag(form) {
do I need the insertobject ?

Help with Newsletter Extension

This is my first time installing a Dreamweaver extension, and
I found this one on the Adobe Dreamweaver Exchange page. I'm
running Dreamweaver MX on a Mac with OS X 10.4.10.
The extension seems to have installed properly, but when I
use it to insert the Newsletter, the first dialog box asks for me
to create a password and set email quantity limits (which I doesn't
seem to be the problem), but upon clicking "ok" I get an error that
says "Unable to create data structure".
The tech support person for the exchange company (and their
FAQ) says I just need to change the "links relative to document"
radio button (from "links relative to site") on the advanced
settings for the website, but I have no such option. There is no
radio button, and no option in the preferences for it either. I
have tried this on four different websites that I maintain with DW,
and that option never appears so I doubt it has to do with an
individual page.
Is there any way to change this option, or is it something to
do with my version of DW? Any ideas would be great, since the tech
person seems to be out of ideas as well.

As for your problem, you have used microsoft word or similar to develop the code, and the javascript should be in a separate file. Can I suggest that you read the following, which will explain extension development in dreamweaver -

I have a problem with Dreamweaver MX "unexpectedly quitting,"
every time I try to open the program. I am running Mac OS 10.2.8. I
have the console crash log for the program which I'll paste below.

I think I know the cause of the program though. I was trying
to install some extensions using the extension manager. After I
launched Dreamweaver after installing the extensions, the problem
started.
I have the extensions that I was trying to install if that
would help.
I would really like someone to help me with this problem.
Please tell me if you don't think this is the correct forum to post
it in.
Maybe it is Apple's fault.

Help with Dreamweaver flash image viewer

Hi all
Would like some help with Dreamweavers Flash image viewer.
Everything is working properly except when i try to link a picture, and have set the imagelinkTarget value to _blank the link always navigates away from my site and does not open in a new window.
I have tried all the values for the imageLinkTarget and nothing works..

I just googled and found lots of folks with the same problem. One fellow wrote this as a soluton:
"All you have to do is
remove the values from the imageLinks in the flash element. That
should fix it."

Help with Dreamweaver Forms

I have tried to find this information and no one seems to be
able to help me (including Adobe Tech Support).
What I am trying to do is create a form on a web site that
has four categories...Year, Make, Model, Engine. It is kind of like
what is on AutoTrader or KBB.
These need to be linked...Year (i.e, 2007) would pull up all
the makes made for that year. Make (i.e, Acura) would pull up all
the models of that make for that year. Model (i.e., MDX) would pull
up the engine types for that model, make, and year.
Help me, please!!

Need Help with Dreamweave MX!

Hello all!
I'm an artist and I'm putting my new website together but I'm
stuck on something. I have 3 order forms that are all .doc files.
How do I make a link in Dreamweaver so when the person clicks on
the link... they download those forms? I did it once but it was a
long time ago and I forgot how. Don't talk to me like I'm some kind
of HTML expert. ;) I suck with HTML. If you can use simple easy
instructions I'd appreciate it. :) I'm not very experienced with
Dreamweaver.

I am working dreamweaver cs4
I purchased this extension send to a friend
only to realize it has no human verification and I don't know how to change it and of course the company has not replied

Did you run the Compatibility check?

Help with creating extension

I am very new to extension creating but i gave it a go and cs5 said it install

Help with dreamweaver gallery - or ext. for gallery

This link is to a template that I found that I really love how the gallery looks... but I am trying to figure out how to create this gallery with thumbnails along the top where you can click on one of the thumbnails on the left first (in the mouse over section) to activate which set of thumbnails you see at the top. The boxes that have the images on the left (which is the mouse over section) I want to be able to click on one of the images for ex they would be listed as performing arts, restaurants, education etc. I would like to be able to click on one then once clicked have a set of thumbnails at the top of the main image that have one thumbnail for each job. so once you click on the job the main image changes to whatever job image I place in there along with still being able to click through more of the same job in that area like it does now.
I am using Dreamweaver CS4... but if you know of an extension that can do that ... that would be great to.

That's a Flash site, you know? You can't build Flash sites in DW.
If you're really good with JavaScripts, HTML and CSS, you might be able to cobble something together that resembles the Flash site but it won't be exactly the same. Sorry, I don't know of any extensions that would do exactly that.

Help with Dreamweaver Validate Form Behavior

Hello,
I'm attempting to use Dreamweaver to validate form fields. This would work quite well except for in this case I'm using custom form code which is coming from Salesforce.com. The issue has been that the Salesforce.com web-to-lead form comes with "name" attributes on every form field item. If I change these names to make the validation look nicer, for example from first_name to First Name, then the web to lead form breaks. Is there another way to utilize Dreamweavers form validation by creating by own names for each form element instead of using "name"? The objective is to give the user something that looks good... like:
First Name is required
Last Name is required
And with the Salesforce custom name fields it ends up looking like:
900000xxxxx213s is required
or
last_name is required

The name attribute of a form cannot contain spaces. That's why the validation behavior breaks.

I need help with Dreamweaver.

I had purchased Dreamweaver CS5-5 version 11.5 last year for my Mac X 10.8.3. Working on several web pages did just fine. I did not use Dreamweaver for the last 4 months. I do pro bono for four sites and they had not given me changes until yesterday - 05/07/13. So I opened Dreanweaver and loaded what I thought was the current pages to the web site I wanted to work on. Surprise!!! What uploaded on Weaver was old pages of the same site I did several years ago. The current pages were not there. They are current on the internet.
I have chased all over Adobe, the internet, reloaded Dreamweaver, tried to download from the internet the current pages through FTP to no avail. I find it extremely difficult to find someone at Adobe - a real person in the USA that speaks English - to help me out. I was shoved from one place to another. I finally got a real person in the last hour but he was from India. He wanted to take control of my computer. This was not to be done. I had PC's for 20 years. A Phillipino took over my PC in 2011 to correct some problems and froze my hard drive. The computer was trash after that. This is why I have a Mac.
All I want to do is to make some changes to the current web sites I am the web master for. I spent over $300.00 for Dreamweaver and it should not be doing this.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am at a point that I thinking about dropping Dreamweaver. I feel that I should not go through all this.
I do not understand Dreamweaver as much as you do. Being that now I do not work with it frequently.
I just know it was simpler before.
On first using Dreamweaver I just downloaded it from the CD and went about my business. As stated this was up until four months ago.
For the amount paid for this software I should not have all of these problems. I should have bee able to do my work as before.
I am the type that needs everything written to understand what to do. In college I took tech writing. That taught me to explain everything in detail.
A lot of the software instructions could be better written. Just a rant on my part. (I find this in many assembly instructions)
I have not done your latest yet. I will try if I can understand what you suggest.
At this time I really don't want to do anything.

Need help with Dreamweaver 8

We are a church who uses AltoMP3 Gold, Macromedia Dreamweaver and GoDaddy.com to upload our sermons to our website as well as offer access to Itunes subscribers. We have used this system for years now and everything has worked great except for some problems with GoDaddy last year. However, we just discovered that Itunes subscribers cannot get any of our 2014 podcasts. The sermons can be accessed from our website, just not through Itunes. As far as I know, the coding has not been changed from the original design, except for the weekly updates as to name of MP3 file, dates, etc. Can you help me figure out why the access to sermons stopped for Itunes beginning in 2014? I am not a programmer, just a volunteer with limited knowldge. Thank you

Sounds like an iTunes issue. Have you checked iTunes support?

Help with Dreamweaver CS5 spry menus. Menu is not dropping down in IE7.

Hello.
We recently upgraded from GoLive CS3 to Dreamweaver CS5. Wow! This has been a big change for us. We are having trouble with a website that we are building, specifically the Spry Menu drop downs not appearing correctly in IE7 and older. While the dropdown menu appears in other browsers, it is not dropping down at all in IE7 and earlier versions. After researching this topic on many websites, including this forum, we are still unable to resolve our particular issue. We have tried many of the suggestions that are common to our problem, but have not found a solution as yet. Could someone please check out this page for us, and possibly give us some advise. We are working on Mac OSX. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may offer.

When I added the following to the document
<style>
#main_image {position:static;}
</style>
the menu items appeared albeit in the wrong position.
The reason for the hidden menu items is because #main_image had a position of relative, effectively creating a flow of its own rather than following the natural flow of the document.
Now for the postion of the submenu. If I add the following style rules to the document the submenu items are in the correct position
ul.MenuBarHorizontal li {text-align: left;}
ul.MenuBarHorizontal a {text-align: center;}
In the first line I have reset the rule that you had changed to center align and in the second line (which is not in the original CSS) I have aligned the text in the anchor tag to align center.
The reason is that IE<8 behaves differently to other browsers when it comes to list items causing the nested list items (submenu) to align themselves to the center of the text of the parent list item.

Can anyone help with Dreamweaver CS6 crashing in Mavericks OS?

Hi all,
I've been going through all the discussions and performing all the steps that are in these forums about Dreamweaver crashing on launch, with no luck. I am using an iMac 2007, Mavericks OS and Dreamweaver is the only software in the Creative suite that will not launch.
I was on a live chat with Adobe and was told they would contact me from their technical support team and haven't heard a thing. Now I keep going through support trying to get a phone number, at this point I will pay to get it fixed.
Thanks for any help out there!

When you say you've tried "performing all the steps" have you completed all of the below?
Deleting the program cache: Deleting a corrupted cache file
Renaming the personal configuration folder: Locating your personal configuration folder
Restoring Preferences: Restore preferences | Dreamweaver CS4, CS5, CS5.5, CS6
Verifying Java SE7 is installed: Dreamweaver and Java SE 6 Runtime problem on MAC Mountain Lion OSX
