Help With Dynamically Linking Premiere With After Effects

Recently, I edited some video footage in Adobe Premiere, dynamically linked it with After Effects, and added several effects and transitions within the latter application. However, after I thoroughly finished with my effects editing, I wished to place my After Effects Composition once more into Premiere, but this task met to no avail.
Whenever I copied, dragged, or dynamically linked the After Effects project into Premiere, the footage showed up displaying either "Media Offline" or a series of colors that you sometimes see when a tv channel is offline. Now, I did read several posts describing the dynamic link as being only ONE WAY, but is there no possible way to move my After Effects composition back into Premiere? Or do I have to start from scratch by copying the Premiere footage into After Effects, THEN dynamically linking it to Premiere?
Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Right, I realize that now, but that would require deleting the current dynamically linked After Effects project, right?
Also, I think the solution to my problem would be found if I could find a way to remove the dynamic link between After Effects and Premiere. Any ideas?

Dynamic Link Premiere and After Effects CS4

I am new to owning the whole suite, so I did not realize that you could use dynamic link. I figured out that I could import premire projects into AE (without linking) I just imported them and assumed I would create my effects and render out the project only to import the rendered video into Premiere. Now, I realize I could have just right clicked on a clip in Premiere and used link.
Now, my question is can I get those effects prjects from After Effects into premire? If so, then how? i have tried dymanic link and I just get a linked sequence in premeire . . .
Am I blind or stupid or both?? Please help!

Because of the different way in which tracks in Premiere and layers in After Effects work (ie. you can have multiple clips on a single track in PPro, but only one clip/item per layer in AE), you can end up with an unmanageable number of tracks in Premiere. Still, it's an option to explore.
Note that AE-only effects won't come through to Premiere, and certain project items will be recreated in a way you might not expect.

Dynamic link premiere to after effects doesn't send clips to after effects timeline

This option has always worked for me but al of the sudden it stopped.
I tried to restart after effects and premiere but that didn't work neither did restarting my computer.

Dynamic Link - Premiere to After Effects - Messing up the composition

Hi guys,
We are sending a simple sequence to After Effects from Premiere. Some of the footage has rate stretches on it. When we open this in AE, the sequence is almost unrecognisable. Some of the clips are in the right place, but quite a few aren't, including additional clips that are 0 frames long. We think the rate stretch is confusing it somehow, but we've not had a problem like this in the past. Any help would be appreciated.

Sure, no problem, the details are:
Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Version 6.0.5
Adobe After Effects CS6 Version 11.0.4.2
Mac is OSX 10.9.2. CPU is 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7. 16GB ram 1600 MHz DDR3.
Quicktime is installed and up to date. All footage is H.264 in a .mov container.
No third-party effects, plugins or codecs have been used on the sequence.
We've had this same problem when attempting to bring the sequence over via different methods: Sending to AE from Premiere, copying and pasting into AE from Premiere, importing Premiere sequence into AE. All three ways result in the same confused timeline sequence.

To create a dynamic link AE project you start in Premiere Pro. There are lots of tutorials including this one from Adobe TV which comes up if you search Dynamic Link in the After Effects Search Help field at the top right corner of the app. The search help field in AE is the most under used feature of the program for new users. I've been at it for 20 years and I use this feature all the time to find new things and things I've forgotten.

Help with After Effects

I just upgraded to PP CS4 to CS5 Premium with After Effects and Photoshop. I'm trying hard to figure things out but I'm unfamiliar with these programs and have no idea where to begin to learn. I've tried watching various tutorials, but they skip over basics, and unfortunately, that's what I need. I
Can anyone recommend a really good book or video or something to get me started? I know there's so much to learn and I'm so eager to learn it all. However, I don't even know how to get the footage from CS5 to After Effects.
One more question - I'm working on a video right now in CS5. The girl in the video has rosacea and I want to take the red out of her face. Is this possible in After Effects? If so, can someone please tell me how to go about doing it - or suggest a tutorial that deals with such an issue?

How to make a Dynamic Link starting in After Effects to Premier (not other way around)

I have seen a ton of tutorials how to Dynamic Link from Premier to After Effects. (but not the other way around. )
I need instructions/video how to link starting in After Effect to Premier.
For example if I make a title in After Effects and then want to dynamic Link it into Premier how is this done?

I've looked at this too. When I first started using DL, I thought that it was basically a two way street between applications. But that analogy doesn't work very well. DL is PPro-centric. Like PPro is the hub, DL the spokes, and the other Abobe applications are on the rim. And this makes a fair amount of sense. The central feature of an editing suite is the editor, and that would be PPro.
Another way to look at it is that you can push from PPro to AE, and PPro can pull from AE, but AE can not push to PPro. So the direct answer to "I need instructions/video how to link starting in After Effect to Premier" is, you can't. What you can do is make your title composition in AE, import that AE project into PPro, and use the composition as you would any other asset in PPro. Then when you change your title in AE, you'll see the change in PPro almost immediately without you having to do anything.
When I'm making motion lower thirds, for example, I now make them in AE. I let the AE project reside in the directory with the PPro project that I made the lower thirds for. Then when I want the lower thirds in PPro, I just import the AE lower thirds into the PPro project. There's a few ways to do this. One is to use the Media Browser. The MB will open up the AE project for you and let you select which composition you want to import. Another way is to File...Adobe Dynamic Link...Import AE composition which does more or less the same thing. There may be other ways as well, IDK.

Why does my Premiere CC 2014 crash every time I use "Adobe Dynamic Link" and have After Effects CC 2014 open in the background?

I use "Adobe Dynamic Link" mainly for typography and some animation, but not to the point where it would stress out Premiere CC 2014.

It doesn't crash for everyone. A person could be forgiven for saying, in return, "Please sort out your **** system problems".
Trust me when I say many, many problems are caused by the computer system setup not being up to the needs of this cutting-edge graphics software. Photoshop is heavily dependent on the GPU, and GPU drivers are notorious for having bugs (they're primarily written to run games).
However, that being said, recent driver releases from both ATI and nVidia do actually work pretty well with Photoshop CC 2014.
What video card do you have?
What display driver version are you running?
If you're unsure how to tell these things, go into Photoshop, choose Help - System Info, copy the data, and post it here.

Need help with after effects render engine setup

I use AE CS6 on a mac computer running Mountain Lion. I also own a PC running Windows 7, and I am wanting to use it to assist with network rendering. How do I install the after effects render engine on a PC, when all that I own is the Mac version of the software?
Any help would be appreciated

Did you purchase a perpetual license for the software, or do you have a Creative Cloud Membership subscription?
If the former, you need to purchase an additional license to get the Windows version. If the latter, you can just download the Windows version as part of your subscription.

Need Help With After Effects. Please read.

So I'm using after effects cs6. The problem I have with it is that the final video after exporting stucks in between and never runs smoothly. I exported my almost 7 minutes video as a quicktime file that is (.mov). SO whenever I play the video in quicktime or any other player, it stucks, sometimes i pause it but it pauses after 10 seconds i click the pause button. sometimes the voice is ahead of sound and vice-versa. It doesnt stuck at the same point everytime. I need my video to run smoothly. Can someone please help.

Help with After Effects CS6 error please?

I'm working on a kinetic typography project in CS6 as my final assignment for my Motion Graphics class. It's nothing too complex, just some text to some song lyrics and I decided I wanted to do some camera movements around the text but when I checked the 3D box next to the layers, I get an error message,
88:3, "error: TDL:outline contains triangles that are too small to be rendered. Check for very thin triangles in original artwork."
I literally only have one background picture and then quite a few text layers but that's it.
Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!

I'm still kind of new to After Effects and working with vector so I apologize if I'm not too savvy with all of this. Here's a screenshot of my composition if that's of any help.
*Edit: Oh and my text doesn't need any extrusions, the only 3D transformations I've made to the text layers is "pulling" their positions a little closer on the Z axis.

Help with after effects Please

Im trying to leran how to make 3d photos in after effects .
Unfortunatley i cant find any instructions that help me with my problems when i import my layered photoshop document and double click the composition layer i just get a huge black box in the middile of the screen.
i can view the layers individually but not as a whole to play with. is there a 2d to 3d book for dummies? ha ha

If your imported file is not working the color space is probably not RGB. AE only works properly with RGB files.
I think you are looking for 'the kid stays in the picture' / or more accurately, camera mapping or camera projection techniques. This is where you separate the foreground background and middle ground elements of a photograph into separate layers, bring them into a 3D app like AE's 3D space, distribute them in 3D space, and then animate a camera move on the layers.
There's a plug-in from Video Copilot that kind of automates this process and that works very well for certain photographs. Photoshop's vanishing point tool can also be used, or you may do all of the work of separating layers by hand (my preferred method 95% of the time) and bring the PSD into AE as a comp, convert the layers to 3D, distribute them on the Z axis, add a camera and animate the camera.

ok i have a issue when i install adobe after effects cc it comes up with cant start trial application manager is damaged or corrupted and i downloaded adobe aplication manger 8 and it gives me this error

After checking we performed the test Next:
          Remove all fonts except the original.
          Test opening After Effects project => OK
          Then we submitted the most used by the graphics progessivement fonts.

Help with   After Effects CS6-

I did something to piss off after effects -    not sure what I did exactly I was trying to make an after effects icon on the dock ( I have a MacBook pro running mavericks )
I have a subscription to the creative cloud - and have downloaded after effects CS6 . but....
   Now when I try to open one of my After effects projects it says " Error message - something about I need to uninstall the older version of after- effects , - and then it listed a preset ( blur)
and when I close the window , there were approximately 30 similar windows with the same message , but a different preset,( blur this or that )
So like an idiot I went to my applications and dragged my after effects app icon to the trash ( there were two of them) and then emptied the trash- Now all my After effects files are greyed out with small green text that says "exec"
what should I do? I cant opn my AE   (after effects) files, I went to the cloud to re-install it and it says it is alll updated , should I do a uninstall? How do I do that?   can I do that and then re-install AE CS6?     will adobe make me download the newer CC version?   I dont want that version because all the computers at my school run CS6
Can someone advise me what the next step would be?

Run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and reinstall. Also learn to name your files sensibly - using $ in a file name may simply be interpreted as a variable by the operating system.

I try to open my project on after effects and after effects wont open. It tells me that and says to restart my computer which I have tried many times to no success. I have reinstalled it twice and still doesn't work. Please help.

You have not actually told us any relevant technical details liek what computer we are talking about. This is a licensing error, so from a botched instal lto something on your system blocking the licensing services anything could be going on, but based on your non-info we just cannot know.
