Help with FILE CONVERSION please.

I inherited a zillion .wpd files (family recipes). Is there a fast, efficient, and easy way to do a mass conversion from .wpd format to something I can read on my MacBook Pro?
Thanks!

This might work:

Or I believe Open office handles word perfect files.

  • Need help with file conversion

    New to JMS. I want to take data which has been put into XML form, validate it, put it into a Topic (Oracle's AQ is the implementation), have a subscriber grab it and use XSL to map the elements to DB columns and insert all the data into the DB.
    This way, I hope to reuse the same inserter, and just use a different mapping for each XML doc.
    I am having trouble in the area of converting the files, and/or the Document objects you get from parsers, to and from Strings so that I can put them into, and get them out of, TextMessages.
    What is the best way to go about this? Any and all advice would be appreciated.

  • Sender File Adapter with file conversion

    Hi guys,
    I’m using a Sender File adapter with file conversion. The message to be processed has a structure with fixed lengths and in your content are some values that needs to be ignored.
    An example:
    value1  <b>value2</b>  value3…
    I want to ignore <b>value 2</b> but I can’t find a parameter for that! Do I need to define dummy fields on my data type and ignore those fields during mapping? Or there is a specific parameter for that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ricardo.

    hi,
    there always is another way:)
    you can import the whole line to one field
    and cut it inside the adapter module
    (then you can define start and stop of the substring that you need to use)
    but of course it's not standard even though it's quite easy to achieve in java

  • Help with access control please

    So I'm trying to set up my brother's PSP to the wirless network through MAC address timed access. What I want to do is make it so that he can only access it through certain times in the day. I'm having troubles with actually getting it to work. Everytime I set it up, the PSP only show's up as a DHCP client and not a Wireless client. I tried the option panel with the add wireless clients through the first try access. Could I get some help with this issue please? Thanks!

    Just to calm your fears... There is no conspiracy. If someone had an answer or a suggestion they would post it.

  • Please help with File input!

    This is my first time dealing with file I/O and need help figuring out the best way to read in data and store it for further manipulation. I have a file that contains an individual's salary, and 3 product ratings on each line, such as: 75000 01 05 09
    What is the best way to store this data? I know how to use BufferedReader and how to tokenize each integer. I must write this program to deal with any number of lines in a file. There are three income brackets, and I must also be able to perform the following calculations:
    a) For each income bracket, the average rating for each product
    b) The number of persons in Income Bracket $50000-74000 that rates all three products with a score of 5 or higher.
    c) The average rating for Product 2 by persons who rated Product 1 lower than Prodcut 3.
    Thus far, I've written the following code to open the file and perform 2 reads to get the total number of lines (individuals) and the total number of inidividuals in each income bracket. It compiles, but I get a null pointed exception at StringTokenizer, for some reason.
    Please help! Do I need to take lines in as arrays? (tried this, but don't understand how to get at individual data) Do I need to somehow create objects for each person (if so, how?). My reference text covers this area poorly. Thanks for all help.

    Try adding a print statement to see what is happening in your second read loop:
                while (trash != null)
                    trash = inputStream.readLine();
                    System.out.println("trash = " + trash);
                    StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(trash);Another way to read in a while loop:
                while ((trash = inputStream.readLine()) != null)

  • Need Help With File Matching Records

    I need help with my file matching program.
    Here is how it suppose to work: FileMatch class should contain methods to read oldmast.txt and trans.txt. When a match occurs (i.e., records with the same account number appear in both the master file and the transaction file), add the dollar amount in the transaction record to the current balance in the master record, and write the "newmast.txt" record. (Assume that purchases are indicated by positive amounts in the transaction file and payments by negative amounts.)
    When there is a master record for a particular account, but no corresponding transaction record, merely write the master record to "newmast.txt". When there is a transaction record, but no corresponding master record, print to a log file the message "Unmatched transaction record for account number ..." (fill in the account number from the transaction record). The log file should be a text file named "log.txt".

    Much help is appreciated. Please help.

    From the output, it looks like one problem is just formatting -- apparently you're including a newline in log entries and not using tabs for the newmast output file.
    As to why the numbers are off -- just from glancing over it, it appears that the problem is when you add multiple transaction values. Since account.combine() is so simple, I suspect that you're either adding creating transaction objects incorrectly or not creating them when you should be.
    Create test input data that isolates a single case of this (e.g., just the Mary Smith case), and then running your program in a debugger or adding debugging code to the add/combine method, so you can see what's happening in detail.
    Also I'd recommend reconsidering your design. It's a red flag if a class has a name with "Create" in it. Classes represent bundles of independant state and transformations on that state, not things to do.

  • Need help with XML Conversion

    I have a very large unstructured document that I need to convert to XML. This document once had a structure applied to it but somehow this structure was deleted (not by me). Since the structure was deleted, a fair amount of content has been added to the file.
    Ive been reading through PDF help files and trying to figure out how to solve this problem. I am very new to this so any help or input would really be great.
    So far thoughts on converting to XML are:
    1) Get structure back working in the original file. I do not know if there is a way to transfer the structure Pre-Loss to the new file. I have created a conversion table already that I can use. I have ran the CT and created what seems to be a structured document, but I think I may be missing further steps.
    2) Export the element definitions to an EDD
    3) Convert the EDD to a DTD
    4) Create a template file (not sure how to do this?)
    Finally export to XML. Before I start on this some feedback would be very welcomed. Sorry I am very inexperienced with all of this.

    Hello Frank,
    with the conversion there is a problem concering the graphics/ xrefs.
    after you have created the conversion table and structured your document you now can
    save the document as xml file.
    In the output you then will still have all graphics that are in the document, but the xrefs are missing.
    convert the document via StructureTools > Utilities > Convert Documents to Structured Format.
    In the output you then will have all the xrefs, but the graphics are missing.
    However, it's possible that I'm not up-to-date her as I haven't tried this since quite some time now.
    Point 2 and 3 from your list:
    Normally it's the other way around: You have a DTD and import that as a new EDD file in FrameMaker.
    Also I don't think that there really is a possiblity to export any element definitions from FrameMaker. But I'm happy, if you are able to disabuse me here.
    Template file:
    Any FM file. It just contains the page layout and the character formats etc.
    What you need to do is to add a Structured Application containing all the information on where to find the Template, EDD, DTD and also the read and write rules.
    With FrameMaker there are several Structured Applications delivered, e.g. DITA.
    If you do not have enough experience to create a new structured application without any model, it's best to copy and modify one of these.
    Regards,
    Anna

  • I would need help with the following please: I need to save some of my email on a disk. I was going to Print, then Save PDF but then I am stuck. Help please. Thanks. Elisabeth

    I would need help with saving some eamil messages to a disk to unclutter my email. How can I do this please?
    Thanks.

    Open the email and then from the File menu select Save As Rich Text Format. That'll save it to open in TextEdit. If you want a pdf then open the email and do command-p (Print) and then from the PDF drop down box lower left corner select Save as PDF.

  • Help with If statement please

    Hi,
    First Special thanks to Kglad for the help with the AS1 to AS3 conversion.
    I've been able to link up my buttons to play a different frames of the movie. this was my novice way of finally getting the programming to work.
    In frame 95 I have
    var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();
    addChild(myLoader); var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("page1.swf");
    myLoader.load(url);
    in frame 165:
    var myLoader1:Loader = new Loader();
    addChild(myLoader1); var url1:URLRequest = new URLRequest("page1.swf");
    myLoader1.load(url1);
    My buttons link to 116 which plays a frame and loads ^
    in frame 226: removeChild(myLoader).
    But if the user has looped back into home from another part in the movie clip then it would need to remove myLoader1 instead of myLoader.
    I'm guessing there is some really dynamic way to solve the programatic nightmare i'm developing, but I'm really novice.
    So what i need is an if statement for frame 226
    That would do something:
    if(myLoader <> null
         removeChild(myLoader)
    else(
    removechild(myLoader1)
    Anyone have a method for this?

    yes, you can use the same urlrequest but just change its url property:
    // initialize, for example in frame 1.  this is done once and never again:
    var loader:Loader=new Loader();
    var urlR:URLRequest=new URLRequest();
    //  then in frame 2, for example:
    urlR.url="page1.swf";
    loader.load(urlR);
    //  in frame 20, for example:
    urlR.url="page2.swf";
    loader.load(urlR);
    // in frame 30, for example:
    urlR.url="page3.swf";
    loader.load(urlR);
    //etc.  if you're loading any swfs that play streams (sound or video), you'll want to add some code to this.

    sorry but the message tags will not be add dynamically
    i have change an existing message mapping 1:1 with file content conversion
    into a multimapping.
    by changing into multimapping the message was surrounded with
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
       <ns0:Message1>.......
    no changing in File Adapter an in the IE there was an error
    com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException geworfen: RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformatio~.
    if i added the stuct
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
       <ns0:Message1>.......
    by hand and it works???
    so i think i had to add
    <ns0:Messages xmlns:ns0="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
       <ns0:Message1>.......
    to the file content conversion but i don't know how to do it???

  • Help with photo albums Please

    Hi, i really need some help with my pictures, I've only got a very basic understanding of how my phone works and have somehow put a load of albums on my phone when i plugged it into the computer-I want to delete some of them off the phone but cannot work out how to do it, when i plug my phone in i can find the photo tab but cannot actually see the pictures and can't see any delete button!!! Please can someone help me, basic explanations would be gratefully recieved xxxx

    The photo sync is one way: computer to phone. To remove photos, synced to your phone, remove the check marks next to the albums/folders under the photos tab in itunes & hit the apply/sync button. They will be removed from your phone. You cannot delete photos that were synced to your phone, directly on your phone. The easiest way to manage photos synced to your phone is to create albums or folders on your computer. Move whatever photos you want on your phone into these albums/folders & then select them under the photos tab in itunes to sync to your phone. You can then remove or add photos to these various albums/folders on your computer & the itunes sync process will update your phone every time you sync.

  • Help with Keynote AppleScript, please

    Hi,
    I would like to make a Keynote 3 slideshow from a few pictures (Keynote has nicer transitions than iPhoto). I saw that there is an AppleScript command that should do that:
    make image slides v : Make a series of slides from a list of image paths. Returns a list of paths from which new slides could not be made.
    make image slides reference : the object for the command
    paths Unicode text
    [master master slide]
    [set titles boolean]
    Can someone show me how I would actually do that? E.g. with my pictures at /Users/andi/Pictures/ ?
    That would be very nice! Thanks!
    iBook G4 12"   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   1.25 GB RAM

    Ah, thanks a lot! Your remark about cropping got me on the right idea.
    So now I have found a solution with Automator. Please be tolerant with the exact titles of the Actions as I write this on a german system and try to translate:
    1. Keynote Actions > New Keynote Presentation (with e.g. Theme "Black", Size 1024 x 768 pixels)
    2. iPhoto Actions > Ask for Photos (Note: You have to select some Photos and not just an Album)
    3. Finder Actions > Copy Finder Objects (e.g. to "Pictures")
    And now here comes the tricky part: I used the Photoshop CS2 Actions that can be found here: http://www.completedigitalphotography.com/index.php?p=389 to scale the images to 1024 x 768.
    4. Photoshop CS2 Actions > Fit Image (Width: 1024, Height 768, DON'T check the box named "Save and close")
    5. Photoshop CS2 Actions > Save as JPEG (Use the settings you like as long as you check the boxes "Close after saving" and "Pass saved files instead of originals")
    6. Keynote Actions > Create Slide with Picture (Don't check "Set Titles")
    That's all. Save it as a Programm or whatever you like. It asks you for Photos, corrects width and height to fit into the Keynote slide and puts everything in Keynote. You just have to select all the slides in Keynote and apply one of the gorgeous new transitions (like Reflections, my favourite!) to it and you're done.
    Please correct me if a translation wasn't correct (and I bet some were).

  • Help with Validation Problem Please

    I don't understand this validation and don't know how to fix it. I have checked my other websites and they seem fine. I don't think I have done anything different The link for the website ishttp://www.greenpatchwebsites.com/pow/index.html
    and the validator is http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=www.greenpatchwebsites.com%2Fpow%2Findex.html&charset=%2 8detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
    Please can you help.
    Thank you very much in advance.

    Thanks for that. I have tried it on a new page: http://www.greenpatchwebsites.com/pow/newtest.html and here is the validator :
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=www.greenpatchwebsites.com%2Fpow%2Fnewtest.html&charset= %28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&No200=1- unfortunately loads of errors
    I also tried the recommended template:
    Use the following markup as a template to create a new XHTML 1.0 document using a proper DOCTYPE. See the list below if you wish to use another document type.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
            "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
    <head>
         <title>An XHTML 1.0 Strict standard template</title>
         <meta http-equiv="content-type"
              content="text/html;charset=utf-8" />
         <meta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type" content="text/css" />
    </head>
    <body>
         <p>… Your HTML content here …</p>
    </body>
    </html>
    but was getting errors with that. As you can tell, I need serious help with this. Which doc type should I be using
    and why doesn't Dreamweaver just do it for you when you select one?
    Thanks very much again in advance.
