Help with fstab (mountpoint with space)

Hello.
I have recently bought an SSD-based Mac Mini and am very satisfied with it. However I had a few bones of contention with the relatively restricted storage space, so I opened it up and added an extra 1TB HDD, which I partitioned into three 'disks' to store (respectively) my Photograph libraries (500 GB), my Music libraries (300 GB) and MobileSync (200 GB).
Then I edited my /etc/fstab file to mount all the drives in filesystem hierarchy where I want them, and all worked fine.
Except MobileSync.
I am having problems because MobileSync's mountpoint lies within /Users/<me>/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup, and that contains a space in "Application Support". I do not know how to successfully express that space in language fstab understands.
I have tried quotes
UUID=<partition-UUID> "/Users/<me>/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup" hfs rw,noauto
and the old octal '\040' escape character
UUID=<partition-UUID> /Users/<me>/Library/Application\040Support/MobileSync/Backup hfs rw,noauto
Neither have worked so far.
I'm stuck. I need help.

The -Xmx flag worked, (after I got the syntax
correct--another post
describing that flag has "-Xm256xm", not "-Xmx256m",
so I couldn't
get it to work.
Anyway, I guess you can't create 1 million Integers
at the same time
with the default heap size...
Chuck.If you were using plain arrays, you probably would have been ok, but the use of Integer objects into an ArrayList / LinkedList is what gives you trouble. Keep in mind that an ArrayLIst grows at a rate of 1.5 times it's current size every time it has to increase capacity. So worst case you have 1.5 million Integers in your ArrayList. I belive an Integer object is far bigger than 4 bytes, probably more like 40. So multiply that by 2 since you have 2 lists and you get 80 bytes per Integer. That goes to 80 MB minimum when you have one million Integers. The default max heap size is 64 MB.
