Help with GBA Emulators for Mac?

Hey there,
I recently tried to use a GBA Emulator to play Pokemon FireRed. I used VisualBoyAdvance with no issues at first, except it seems to not to save properly. I can save from the menu, get an error message, quit and the save will be there, but the save file doesn't appear in the VBA folders and if it quits/crashes or anything else I lose all my data.
My charizard was nearly level 40, now I have to start again....
I've been trawling the internet for solutions to the save issue with VBA, but nothing seems to work. I've looked at other emulators like No$GBA and Boycott but they seem to all come with issues of their own before I even get to saving anything.
I'm using a Macbook Air, OS X 10.9.3
Does anyone have any solution that actually works to make VBA work, or know of an emulator for mac that runs smoothly?

Help with using MACROS for mac

I have a serious issue and not sure if Im in the right place. i just started school. I am try to using the riverpoint writer on my mac, but for some reason it keeps saying that it cant load visual basic for application. Has anyone had this problem and if so can you tell me how you resolved it. that you for your help in advance.

I must say sir I went thru it trying to get something that worked with riverpoint writer. And guess what I had to do in order for it to work on my macbook. REINSTALL OFFICE FOR MACS, thats all. Now its up and running and I am please, after searchin and spending unneccesary money on products that I did not need after all. Thank you for steering me wrong, to where I almost gave up.

Help with Dreamweaver CS6 for Mac

I am a long time user of Dreamweaver CS 5.5 for PC and recently purchased an IMac. I have a trial version of Dreamweaver CS6 for Mac and am having difficulty displaying an html file in Live View. I always used "Preview in Browser" in CS 5.5 and need this same feature. I have an active site that I imported into CS6 and the site uses templates. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And you are running OS 10.8.3, right? Did you also try the Microsoft site?

Ok so.. i need some help. For a resume, I want to make bullets like laterally. Like normally you have bullets when you have like a list of things one after another on separate lines. what if I want multiple bullets on the same line?

Need Help with mysql admin for Mac

Hello all.
I am new to cold fusion and databases all together. Infact I
am doing an online tutorial to get me started, my problem is the
tutorial really just scratches the surface for the mac side and in
some cases sorta explains how to do but no visual help and I am
very visual.
I am searching for software that is really idiot proof to
start my knowledge with then make the transition when I learn more
and more to hard coding. The tutorial suggests Navicat for Mysql
admin and it is nice but he is setting up basic databases in Access
which looks really easy and I am trying to follow along with
navicat but I am just not getting it specifically when it comes to
setting up relationships between tables. Can I use a software like
FileMaker Pro and just convert to mysql or is their other software
that makes it a little more easy to understand how to set up
relationships like access does.
I am totally new to this stuff and I am looking for the
easiest product to use. Thanks again for your help and time.

As for the database part, before you write your first query,
you should become grounded in the concepts of data modeling. Then
find a good source (book, books-on-line, etc. ) for the particular
"flavor" of SQL used by your database of choice, then start writing
your queries. Data model first (entities, relationships,
attributes), then SQL.
Couple of fairly good online tutorials for data modeling.

Master this and you will save yourself many hours of grief,
trust me.

Help with PS CS4 for Mac (Lion 10.7.3)

I bought Photoshop CS4 about a year and a half ago and it worked on my old Macbook (10.5.8) absolutely fine. I recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro (Lion 10.7.3) and now Photoshop crashes about every ten minutes for no apparent reason. By "crashes" I mean that the spinning wait cursor appears and I am forced to use force quit as Photoshop is no longer responding.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, turned off automatic graphics switching (I read on a similar discussion that this might help) and nothing seems to work. It's very very frustrating, made more frustrating by the fact that neither Apple or Adobe seem to be able to speak to me in person about this matter. I desperately need Photoshop for my work and any help would be greatly appreciated.

do your crashes generate an Apple and Adobe crash reports?
if so, copy the Adobe report and paste it here
try this for some basic maintance & troubleshooting in the meantime

Need help with Microsoft Office for Mac upgrade question.

My MacBook died, great computer after six years! I just purchased my new MacBook Pro last night. I noticed that the MacBook Pro/OS X Lion does not support PPC software as I was trying to install MS Office 2004, which I have the 2008 upgrade for. Since the 2008 is just the upgrade it wants a previous version already installed and I cannot install 2004 MS Office, does this mean that I have to start over and just buy MS Office 2011?

I'm afraid so. Too bad you didn't apply the 2008 upgrade while your old MacBook was working. Then you could have migrated 2008 to the new machine from the MacBook's hard drive even if the rest of the MacBook was dead.

You must be using an update CD. You need the software that has the full version first - install that, then you can use the update one if needed. I know, cuz I made the same mistake - lol

Printing with PSE 8 for Mac

Hi,
hope some of you may give me some help.
Have tried to print with PSE 8 for Mac, but in the printing options there is none where i can choose the type of paper (ie: glossy, premium glossy....).
My printer is an Epson Stylus Photo 1400.
It works fine with iPhoto, here i can choose paper type. And prints come out fine.

My printer is a Canon so not entirely sure if this helps but when I print from PSE 8 I do not get to choose the media type until I have clicked on the print button in the PSE dialog box. I am then presented with the dialog box for my printer where I can set the media type amongs other attributes.
It is normal for the media type to be the job of the printer driver so perhaps it is the same for your printer.

Word processing with citations software for Mac?

What is your choice for word processign with citations software for Mac? I am a graduate student. So, being able to enter citations and compile a bibliography/works cited pages is a must.
In the past I have always used MS Word, as I was a WIndows user in the past. Pages doesn't seem to have the same capabilities as Word. I have read a little about using Endnote and Bookends with Pages.
What is your preference, and why?

Hey all, I'm in desperate need of help with some Applescript for use in a program called Midipipe:

I simply require an Applescript for Midipipe that filters out all OFF notes except for the most recently pressed key, or most recently pressed ON note. So for example, when multiple keys have been pressed, only the most recently pressed key will send an OFF note. I hope that is clear enough, i've had some major issues trying to get this work and my last hope is to hit the forums and find some help .. I've posted on some of the audio forums and i'm hoping someone here knows how to code this.

I try to help, but you'll need to apply your brain cells to get it working with what I've already explained (three times with what I offer below). Try something like the following (I am renaming your buttons to ch1,ch2,ch3,ch4,ch5,ch6 so that the same functions can be shared by all buttons...

For this to work, your buttons need to have the same artwork in the hit frame as they do in the up frame.
