Help with getting upper into lower case

Hello
In my SELECT statement, I have:
,UserName
When this comes through in the query, it appears as: JOHN.SMITH
Is it possible to use CAST or CONVERT to change this to John Smith?
Any advice gratefully appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi William,
The above function is replacing the . with a space, you can always reverse it back after.
SELECT (@Input), dbo.CamelCase(REPLACE(@Input,'.',' '))

  • Help with getting Events into a Project please

I apologize if this topics been covered here or somewhere else on the Apple website(s), but I cannot get my Events into a Project in iMovie. I've read the directions, watched the videos, and looked at these pages but can't seem to find an answer. At this point, all I want to do is download video from my camcorder to save it and edit later (when I have more time). I managed to download video from several events from the flash drive on my Canon Vixia HF11 and it appears in the Events library. I can play it and select clips without difficulty. I tried to select all the Events (all together and separately) to move to a project (after opening a new project), but the cursor bounces back. It will allow me to select clips but this is very cumbersome and time consuming and I don't want to edit now - I want to save all the video. The "add to project" button doesn't work. Am I missing something? There must be some way to select ALL the video in all the Events I've downloaded to put into one project. BTW, we're only talking about 40 minutes of video. If possible, please post screen shots so that I can see exactly what to do. Any help is much appreciated.

    no, not avail.
and 'off'-concept of that tiny edit-app:
when you import, you create a Library of all footage.
iM will split these videos (by date) into seperate 'Folders' = Events.
the idea of iM is, to offer you this Library to create a SELECTION of it for any given Project. there are very rare cases I can imagine, you add ALL material of one Event into one Project (in the Event Window hit apple-a), even a Lecture allows to edit here&there.
but adding all material from any imports into one Project? no. no need = no feature.

  • Upper or Lower Case Characters

    Hi everyone:
I know this may sound silly, but I am new at this so be nice!
When creating an address for your webpage, do the charcters
have to be upper case or lower case. I know that I have seen some
web addresses with both upper and lower case.

I think she means domain name. In that case, it doesn't
    matter. There's no
upper case in domain names.... As far as I know.

  • Upper and lower case Username creates Contact, Calendar, Note acces problems

    Dear All
Maybe someone has a solution for this or discovered the same case. Our server infrastructer is using Username with upper and lower case letters e.g "Galler".
Pushing these access data (Username, server adress etc.) for E-Mail, Contact, Calendar and Notes via the profile manager creates problems for the Contact, Calendar and Notes access, because profiles is rechanging the username in all lower case letters "galler". For the E-Mail it is not the case.
Every help would be very appreciated. Maybe some solution in using username alias with only lower case letters, but I don't no how to establish.
Thanks in advance for your help.

It's clearly not impossible, just different than you expect. Create your playlist as you want it to appear in the Current tab (meaning don't dump every single song from your library in there, just the ones you want) and then save the playlist.
Perre wrote:And if I try to play the m3u file created (the one with every song listed) through freevo I get a message that the directory is empty. What am I doing wrong??
Look at save_absolute_paths_in_playlists in your mpd.conf.

<u>Re: Case insesitive String comparison in Open SQL</u>

    Hi
here you can find all the functions permitted in the OpenSQL:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9b/f46cabaa874bc9a82234e8cf1d0696/frameset.htm
So I think that Upper/Lower are not permitted... the work around is to get all the records and check the Upper and Lower case using Java Code functions into your business methods.

  • UPPER and lower case file extensions for Photo Shop Elements using Windows 7

How do I persuade WIndows 7 to show both UPPER and lower case file extensions, which is a very useful facility offered by my ancient, 2002, version of Photoshop Elements? When processing large volumes (100 plus) photos it is very useful to be able to spot those that have been processed among those awaiting my gentle touch. The JPEG file extension produced by my camera is UPPER case so by using "Save as" with lower case the modified photos are immediately spotted. This worked fine on Windows XP and the same programme has loaded and works well on my new laptop which came loaded with Windows 7 EXCEPT that it persists in using UPPER case all the time, irrespective of the preference settings in PSE. HELP!
    Camperman1

In PSE there is a facility "File > process multiple files".
Using this facility you can actually process multiple files at one go and you can easily rename images.

  • Upper- and lower case filenames

I have two Mac OS Extended (journaled) drives with one on my laptop and one on my desktop. I sometimes get an error that reads:
"You can't copy some of these items because their names are the same as other items on the destination volume, and that volume does not distinguish between upper and lower case letters in filenames. Do you want to skip these items and continue copying other items?"
Recently this happened when trying to force move (using the Command Key) data from my iDisk to my desktop hard drive.
Does anyone know what is going on here?
Is it advisable to first copy data to the desktop on the volume that you are moving to and then move it onto the harddrive and if so what is the reason for this?
    Thanks,
    Jon

    Hi Kappy.
Thanks. Good information. Are you saying you can only /move/ across filesystems or disk volumes or are you saying you can only /copy/ across filesystems or disk volumes.
My impression was that going from one hard drive to another hard drive - that the default was copy, but that you could force a move by holding down the Command Key. When I do this over here the little green plus symbol goes away seeming to imply that it is moving. However, /sometimes/ the dialog says it is Copying and sometime is says it is Moving.
The problem is when it craps out in the middle of a Move (or a Copy). Ignoring the dupe file names with caps issue for the moment - what are you supposed to do when you get through a Move or a Copy (from Hard Drive to Hard Drive for instance) and Finder presents you with an error?!
My understanding of your explanation is that Finder has gotten part way through a Copy and/or (?!) part way through an Erase.
Is there any way of understanding WHERE it has gotten when it says it cannot complete an operation because filexyz.pdf is in use (even when it is not)? If I am moving 100 GB of data (or whatever) how am I supposed to know if it has only Copied some information, Copied and Erased some information, Moved some information, or Moved and Erased some information?
Irrespective of the amount of data, when you get to the point that you cannot reasonably be expected to manually sort through this data how in the world am I supposed to know what Finder has done? More importantly, what is the best way to get back to a point at which you know what information is where?
    Thanks,
    Jon
P.S. I'm moving data in Target Disk mode at this point and I am not getting errors like "The operation can't be completed because an item with the name "folder 100" already exists - WHEN I HAVE ALREADY SELECTED APPLY TO ALL AND OVERWRITE EXISTING FILES.

  • Queries using "LIKE" but ignoring upper or lower case

I have a question. I need to query the database in a cursor for a search results page. The thing is that I'm searching for a contact name, lets say, and the name is "Steven". My query "WHERE" clause says:
    WHERE contactName LIKE '%steven%';
but it doesnt find it because I understand Oracle is case sensitive. Is there an extension to the LIKE keyword to ignore upper or lowe cases in this type of instance?
    Thanks for your help,

    hope this will help

  • Why upper or lower case choices for image file extensions?

Thanks ahead of time for any help.
I'm wondering why you would want the file extension in lower or upper case.   Is there a reason to choose one or the other in various situations?  This choice is an option in the import dialog window box under File Renaming> Extensions with choices of Leave as-is, Lowercase & Uppercase.

The option is just to provide more control for specific workflows.
Really..."to provide more control for specific workflows"???  I've gotta say... if I'm wrong about UNIX systems and case-sensitive file extensions... it truly would seem senseless that there would be a setting for controlling the case of file extensions.  So far as I know, almost every major application omits such a feature.  For what type of workflow would you ever need to specify the file extension case, if not for a file system that uses case-sensitive file extensions?  I'm just curious, myself, actually...  Is there something I'm missing?
What about writing to legacy network storage where extensions are not accepted unless in a specific case.  I believe Netware used to enforce upper-case extensions at some point.  If you had a collection of legacy data or datastore and had some service or scripts that operating on them, and could not be easily changed, you might really want to control exactly how those filenames are created.
There are any number of paths one can go down where you can end up cursing an application because it cannot do a simple action, like write out a filename in the right case. Think of all the complaints found in these forums where someone has cited some odd use-case no one else could ever have imagined and then stated that it is obvious that Lr should accommodate this because it is so simple to fix (e.g., to do something like provide an option whereby extensions are made all upper- or lower-case.)
You do know that even Windows and OS X are case-preserving, right?  So, the actual case used to create the file is in the file metadata, regardless of what the Finder or Explorer or shell may decide to show you. How this metadata is used by various APIs is open-ended.

  • Is Central Search Searchable Via Upper and Lower Case Letters

    Good evening,
Does anyone know if Central Search is searchable using both upper and lower case letters?  We have the functionality enabled and can only bring back search results when we use upper case letters.  When we search on the same marketing object using lower case letters, we do not get any results. For example, TK2292 brings back marketing object TK0002292 but tk2292 does not bring back any results.  Advanced Search appears to be able to handle both search scenarios.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Gregg

    Hello,
Did you put a breakpoint in the query method to check what you receive in the field 'marketing object' when you start from the central search of the advanced search?
    Is it different?
