Help with hotmail pop3 on n95 8gb

Im using these settings from a website
Hotmail (Live)
Incoming Setting
User Name :[email protected]
Password : Password of your Hotmaill
Incoming mail server : pop3.live.com
Mailbox Type : pop3
Security :ssl/tls
Port :default
Outgoing Settings
User Name :[email protected]
Password : Password of your Hotmaill
Outgoing mail server : smtp.live.com
Mailbox type : pop3
Security :start tls
Port :default
and it can retireve messanges no problems. But if I send one it just seems to hang for ages and then in the outbox menu it says Queued.
Any ideas why?
Im glad hotmail now supports POP3 but want to be able ot send aswell as retieve.

After lots of internet browsing looking for the correct answer I have finally sorted this matter.
If you are on O2 for broadband (home) or O2 for your mobile these are the settings you need. Hope it saves someone else from having to spend days looking like me. Even hotmail did not know, probably because it is O2 specific.
I can't get the same settings to work for both O2 wap connections and O2 broadband Wi Fi. I presume the only way round this would be to have 2 hotmail profiles on my phone! I am also surprised that it was not just O2 wi fi that it did not work with I have tried another one at work and that failed to send also.
Anyway
Mobile settings-
Incoming:
user name- hotmail email address
password- hotmail email password
Incoming mail server- pop3.live.com
access point in use- set to what you want, i set it to always ask
mailbox name- Hotmail
mailbox type- POP3
security (ports)- SSL/TLS
Port- default (which is actually 995)
APOP secure login- off
Outgoing:
My email address- hotmail email address
user name- your hotmail email address
password- your hotmail password
Outgoing mail server-smtp.live.com
access point in use- up to you i set mine to always ask
security (ports)- StartTLS
port- default (which is actually port 25
For Outlook Express to work with Hotmail use these settings:-
Hotmail
Incoming mail server (POP3)- pop3.live.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP)- relay.o2broadband.co.uk
Accunt name- your hotmail email address
password- your hotmail email password
Outgoing mail port- 25 (and un-tick the option this server requires a secure connection SSL)
Incoming mail port POP3- 995 leave SSL ticked

PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE! - my N95 8GB only disconne...

My Phone is a Nokia N95 8GB with firmware v.31.0.015 and I'm trying to update to v.35.0.001, which is the latest firmware for my product code.
I have updated the firmware of this phone using Nokia Software Updater at least 2 times before successfully on the same computer as I'm using now. This time the phone only disconnects during the update and the program asks me to disconnect charger/battery/usb cable, and to reconnect them again and click "Retry". But it it's always the same all the time - it disconnects. I have tried re-installing all Nokia programs, I've tried running NSU by itself, from Nokia PC Suite and I've tried the updater from Ovi Suite (but it tells me that v.31.0.015 is the latest firmware!?).
The good thing is that the phone is still working properly but it has the old firmware, v.31.0.015.
Please, does anyone have any clue what the problem can be?
I am hoping for the updated NSU 2.4, but it has not been released yet, despite announced by a Nokia Employee on this discussion furumsome weeks ago.

There is nothing wrong with phone itself , so "Reset" will not help. You can have a few problems, already (like corrupted communications drivers between Nokia and PC). My advise is to do this in few steps. First to clean old Nokia PC Suit.
1. download: "Nokia_PC_Suit_Cleaner_7_1_1.exe" and rid off old installation.
2. download: "Nokia_PC_Suit_7_1_40_1_eng_web.exe" and install like any other Nokia PC Suit including connection manager and so on but do not go to "Nokia Software Updater", yet. It will not work.
3. download: "NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup.exe" but do not install, yet. (so do not hit "run" after downloading)
4. Find just downloaded above file of Software Updater and with cursor on this file click right button. In Windows7 there is "Troubleshoot Compatibility" option. Just hit it and windows will sort it out. On the next window hit "Try Recommended Setting".
On the follow up window there will be an information about applied compatibility mode and "Run The Program" button. Just hit it and install this "Software Updater". This also will replace original installation of software updater which is included with new Nokia PC Suit.
For me this is the cleanest way do solve this problem. It showed me compatibility with "WindowsXP Service Pack 2".
I do not know what operating system you are using. I am using Windows7 64 bits without any problems.
Probably you can try go stright to property of this downloaded file and do this changes in compatibility option by yourself.
By the way it is hardly to see any sagnificant improvement by comparing both versions. I hope it will help. Bye.

I have changed my ways when it comes to managing a phone. Always S60 OS and nothing I dont need.

Help with hotmail account

Hey y'all,
I'm having some issues with Mail. I don't have a mac.com account and I'm trying to setup mail to work with both my hotmail and outlook accounts. I setup the hotmail account but it won't let me send e-mail and I don't think I'm receiving it either. When I do the connection doctor it says it connects okay (green light) but it won't send anyway. Help? Would it just be better to get a mac.com account?

As I understand it, the free Hotmail account is purely webmail and isn't accessible from a mail client. You would need to subscribe to Hotmail Plus. You may also need the 'httpmail' plugin:

For 3 days, Hotmail has not worked on my iPad although it works fine on my computer. I see this problem has been adressed in the past and has been a problem for many people in the last few days, but I don't see a solution to the problem. Please help.

Issues with Video Conversion in N95 8GB

I purchased a N95 8 GB yesterday. I have been trying to get the video conversion to work with video manager
The conversion status tab do not go beyond 40% and it hungs there without any error message.
Has anyone faced similiar issues with video.
I used another convertor to convert the AVI file to mp4. But this file could not be played by N95 real player.
Are there any specification for conversion, for the video to play in N95.
Can anyone suggest on the best tool to convert video to MP4 and play in N95 ?

i activated the 3 day trial for gps do i need to cancell wit before 3 days so i wont get charged? or will it cancell it self and i wont orry about paying for it or anyhting? cause i dont want to be billed for it

Don't worry the license will be cancelled and "voice navigation" feature will cease to function at the end of 3-day trial. Whether or not Nokia Maps application GPRS internet access is set to "As needed" or "Never" is another matter for your consideration.

Help with Hotmail please....

Hi, I just switched from my former ISP to to Qwest DSL.
MSN Hotmail is what I have bundled with the package I purchased unfortuneatley. So I hunted around and found that I could download a plug-in to let me retrieve my hotmail through my Tiger's Mail client. (I'm sure everyone knows of the plug-in I'm speaking about)
Well, I configured it like it instructed me to. I seem to retrieve mail just fine, but when I try to send...I get a message.

Sorry, if someone addressed this on an earlier post, but I hunted for an answer and couldn't find one.
Does anyone know what this is and how I might resolve it.

It may just be how hotmail is set up. None of my folders show either. You might look into the hotmail settings themselves - as in on hotmail, not your ipad, and see if there are some things you need to change for 'mobile sharing/access'.
I know that my yahoo interface is different from my hotmail one, so what you can/can't access may depend on what the 'host' allows.

Navigation with Nokia Maps crash (N95 8Gb)

Here's my brand new, maps crashing issue; For some bizzare reason, I thought I'd try to use a-gps. I've always had pretty good luck with the thing syncing but it could be better.
I recently came to Germany and got a MOBI (vodafone) sim card and I set vodafone live as my provider. It didn't seem to be any faster so I went into setting, (in maps) and tried to turn it off.
The problem is; I can't. When I go into Maps settings and click on Network, it shuts off Maps or reboots the phone. Now, whenever I turn on maps, it logs onto vodafone and burns off all of my credit in about 5 minutes...and I can't turn it off and I can't use maps without using all of my expensive credit.
It's really **bleep** me off. This is the first software issue I've had with this thing and I have no idea how to solve it. I've gone into Tools>General>Positioning methods and only have Integrated gps checked but it's still logging on.
It's a real pain. If I could remember my lock code, I'd reset everything to default.

Help with AGPS setting on N95 please

Those of you who have AGPS working :
1) How do you know it's working ? Is there a visual indicator ?
2) Can you goto Menu->Tools->Settings->Connection->Packet Data->Access Point
Do you have anything entered in this field ?
Does it correspond with what is in Tools->Settings->General->Positioning Server->Access Point ?

I appear to now have AGPS working as I can get a signal and satellite lock sitting at my desk in the middle of my building - but I don't get the two bars people are talking about (but I do when I am connecting to my home WiFi).
When I referred to :
"If this is the case, then why is there not a window here Tools->Settings->General->Positioning Server->Access Point which allows you to choose the connection you want to use rather than having to type in the name ?!"
What I meant was, in here :
Menu->Tools->Settings->Connection->Packet Data->Access Point
I have "Orange Internet" listed
In here :
Tools->Settings->General->Positioning Server->Access Point ?
I have to TYPE (not select using a radio button) the option "Orange Internet"
What do other people have in this field ?

Where can I find help with Hotmail issues

Using HP Touch Smart 320 All In One PC. System worked fine until
a day or two ago when all of a sudden Hotmail would not display.
The screen shows that I have mail but when I click on the in box,
junk or anything else, nothing happens. I tried turning the computer
off and restoring to an earlier date. Both worked for a while but the
problem came back after each. I can still get my mail thru Windows
Live and another E-Mail account but not thru Hotmail. Any ideas
out there? Tks Just remembered. I did get the following message
before this happened: Security Alert Revocation information for the
security certificate for this site is not available. Do you want to proceed?
Yes, No, View Cer (I viewed cer and it appeared to be good) so I
selected Yes.

what is it doing ?
