Help with inline display of a PDF
Two problems I am having with the inline display of a PDF (not a link, not a separate window).
First - the PDF has hyperlinks in it. If you spawn a separate window, the hyperlinks are active (clicking on the hyperlink will take you somewhere). If I use the APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC within an object window, the PDF will display fine except when you hover over a hyperlink, you get the "hand" icon, and you can't click on the item. Is there a way to display the PDF within the same HTML region as the rest of the page but get the PDF to translate the hyperlinks into active links?? I am not sure if I should open this as a bug with Oracle or not.
Second, I tried to duplicate the problem on apex.oracle.com.
Everything works except when I try to display the PDF, all I get is a grey box instead of the PDF. Having done this multiple times before, it is a simple solution but I can't remember what it is...
Any help I could get would be great.

I'm not positive but it seems the APEX_UTIL.GET_BLOB_FILE_SRC doesn't work when it references a file browse item on a page where the key is on the rowid. I've copied the page to page 4 and changed it to use the bulletin_id. I've linked the bulletin id on the report to page 4

Help with inline VLAN Pair and switch configuration
Hello,
I'm new to IPS and IDS in general, but I have an IPS-4255 and a couple of Catalyst 2900 switches to experiment with. I'm currently trying to enable an Inline VLAN Pair configuration on the IPS and have a simple setup.
SW1 and SW2 have vlans 100 and 200 configured. PC1 and PC2 are on the same IP range (no routing). PC1 on vlan 100 connects to Sw1. PC2 on vlan 200 connects to SW2. The IPS connects to a SW2 trunking port, and SW1 and SW2 are connected together on another trunking port.
I know that my trunking is working because PC1 and PC2 can ping each other whenever they are on the same vlan of either switch. But, they can't ping when on the separate vlans.
From what I've read, the IPS with an Inline VLAN Pair acts as a bridge between the two vlans and should forward the traffic if it passes inspection. However, the IPS does not appear to see any traffic at all.
My IPS is configured with inline VLAN pair 100->200 and associated to vs0.
Have I missed something in my config somewhere? Or am I misunderstanding how inline VLAN Pairs are supposed to work?

switchport mode trunkIt has been awhile since I've dealt with a 2900 switch to I am just trying to guess at what may be wrong with your setup.
I noticed that neither of your trunk port configuration are specifically stating which vlans are allowed on the trunks.
It is possible that for the trunk between the 2 switches there may be some protocol negotiation so the switches can determine which vlans to trunk, BUT no such negotiation will happen with the sensor. If I remember right you will need to specifically state which vlans the trunk to the sensor should carry. If I remember right the commmand would be something like:
switchport trunk allowed-vlan 100,200
You will want to find the show command on your switch that will show you which vlans are actually being trunked by the port. It might be something like "show switchport trunk"
And you will want to verify that the switch is actually trunking vlans 100 and 200 to your sensor.
On your sensor you will want to execute "show interfaces" and look at the statistics for Gig0/0 to see if it is receiving packets on vlan 100 and 200.
You can also run "packet display GigabitEthernet0/0" to see if any packets are making it to your sensor.
You will also want to check Link status and make sure your sensor is linking up properly with your switch. A common mistake is to connect the wrong ports, as some sensors do not have the port numbers clearly marked.
NOTE: If the above doesn't help, then take the additional step of eliminating the second switch. Attach both pcs to the same SW2 switch (1 in each vlan). The second switch isn't necessary to test the inline vlan pair functionality. Connecting both PCs to the same switch will help eliminate any possibility of misconfiguration between the 2 switches. -

I'm facing a nasty problem connecting an external crt display to my MacBook Pro.
First here's the setup:
-Two MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz
-G4 Cube 450MHz
-iBook G3 800MHz
-CRT DPRO750SB 17" (Nec-Mitsubishi)
-CRT AT897D-1 17" (Formac)
-Problem:
I used to connect the DPRO750SB to one MBP with the Apple's DVI/VGA adapter and everything was fine but now the display doesn't light up anymore.
Furthermore, trying to boot with the display hooked up make the computer crash during startup.
-Clues:
The display and its VGA cable seems OK since there is no problem with the G4 Cube (VGA to VGA) nor the iBook (mini-DVI/VGA).
I have no problem using the Formac Display with both MBP (DVI/VGA).
The DPRO750SB icc profile don't show up anymore in the "Displays" Preference Pane.
I'm able to get the DPRO working sometimes by plug the Formac in, unplug it, then plug the DPRO in.
(in this case, the "Displays" Pref Pane says it's the Formac).
I'm really lost now...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Need Help with Address Display
I need help with APEX.
Here's my situation:
I have a report that displays brief employee information. Among the information displayed is the Address. Right now, it's display as:
Mr X
Employee Id
Accounting Department
Address 1
Mr X
Employee Id
Accounting Department
Address 2
I would like it to display
Mr X
Employee Id
Accounting Department
Address 1
Address 2
1) I have thought of using the Break functionality; however, the function only allows break at column 1, 2, 3. As you can see Address starts at column 4. Also, Address has a few columns; Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, State, Zipcode.
2) Stragg functions - I'm not sure how to implement it since it has more than 1 columns.
Any ideas?

2. if this is the case, your employee appears in the report twice?
3. you don't want his name, employee id and accounting department to appear twice?

Help with XML, display data on swipe/click
Hello.
I am trying to create a moibile app that displays XML data. It's basically a phone book. I want the data to change when swiped. I can get the data in just fine. I can get it to display fine. I am not seeing the correct image first, however. I think it's a problem with my imagenum variable.
Then, I want to change what is displayed when the user clicks/swipes on the screen. How do I do that?

I'm having a difficult time with a conditional display and validation I'm hoping someone can help with.
Requirements:
When the Start Date (Datepicker) and/or End Date (Datepicker) change then display the Change Reason (Select List) and Change Description (Textbox)
If the page is saved without entering a Change Reason display a validation error message that the Change Reason cannot be empty (NULL)
What I've tried
Create a Dynamic Action on the Start Date

The Issue
I tried to create another Dynamic Action to hide the P51_CHANGE_REASON and P51_CHANGE_DESC fields on page load, but when either of the date fields are changed and the validation is fired the P51_CHANGE_REASON and P51_CHANGE_DESC are hidden again.
There are two buttons to submit the page: 'SAVE' will submit the page and stay on the page and 'SAVE_CHANGES' will submit the page and branch to the previous page (which is a report with EDIT buttons to edit the record).
I can't get the page load Dynamic Action to NOT fire when the validation is fired.
I hope this is clear and if not what information can I provide?

The problem I'm having is that if no Change Reason is entered and the page is saved thereby firing the validation the Change Reason and Change Description fields are hidden again (because of the On-Load Dynamic Action to hide them). So now the user can't put in a Change Reason...unless they change one of the date fields again which isn't going to be accepted.
Is there a way to determine if a validation error was fired and be able to use that on the On-Load Dynamic Action to hide the two fields? Something like...If the validation fired then don't run?

Hello all,
After installing the 41.09 drivers for my MSI GF4200 64mb card, I noticed that upon DVD or any video file playback, I only see about one quarter of the video, which is the upper right hand corner. I do not know if the problem started with the installation of this driver as I have not tried to view video in awhile until after installing this driver. Previously I believe I had 4072 and the original drivers in. So, I reinstalled the original drivers and I am still having the same problem. I ran my direct x diag tool and I passed all of them.
Another strange part of this is the fact that after I play with the display settings, the problem seems to be fixed. But when I close the program, and reopen the video file the problem recoccurs again.
I do not have any other video problems that I know of, but I will go run Battlefield 1942 (intense gfx) to see how I fare. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, please share as this is really starting to bug me. Thanks for your help in advance!

Search Help with Structure Display

I want to create a search help which should display my output in the structure format base on the different levels.
I have already written a test program which display all the values in proper structure format. But I wanna do the same in the search help. It has to display the output in the structure format.

you could write additional report based on ALV tree. So you would have the stucture which you want to have and on value request call your custom program. i doubt that there is FM or class which could generate search help tree. So basically you have to write your own logic. Or you could use GuiXt tool. Example and tutorial.

Just installed Lion and afterward I noticed that things work differently with external displays. In the past I could have my laptop open to mirror but now it must be shut and the mirrior button or selection isn't available within the display preferences. So my question is, 1. does any one know how to better manage displays? and 2. does anyone know how to mirror while having the laptop screen open?
I know trhis sounds petty but where I work it is very hot and it seems like with the screen shut the computer syncs heat away a lot less efficiently.

I now know how to turn on and off mirrioring with command/F1 (didn't know that yet), but would you know how I can use my external display in mirror mode with the laptop display completely turned off, not dimmed till black, but off?
Before lion I was able to do this by shutting the laptop screen which would put the machine into sleep mode and then by clicking the mouse or hitting a key on the keyboard it would wake it. Once the external display came on then I would open the laptop and the laptop display would remain off while using the external display. Hope that makes sense. Any suggestions? -
Help with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro PDF Converter

I am trying to convert the online homepage of Bank of America (http://www.bankofamerica.com) into a a PDF file. When the PDF file gets created, not all the background colors and graphics come out (Please see attachment). Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I would like my PDF file to look exactly as the website.

Thank you.I assume you mean something like the attached. By default the background printing is turned off in most browsers. You simply select the printer setup options and turn the background on. I got slightly different results based on different browsers,but the question is a browser issue. If you try to open this page in Acrobat (at least in AA7), you get a warning from BOA that you are using an older browser and it will not open the page. Strange, but that was the result. You are working from the browser and you are dealing with the browser setup in that case, not Acrobat.

Dual Display - help with Cinema Display for MacBook Pro where MB won't detect displays.
I just got a Cinema Display (a1081 20") ("CD") off eBay to use as a dual screen with my Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.8 ("MB"). However, I can't get MB to recognize CD! I've tried power cycling both the MB and the CD with and without USB cord connected. MB won't recognize CD display in any situation. However, it is recognized in some capacity although I can't use dual display because the CD power button triggers MB to ask me if I want to restart, shutdown, or cancel.
Any help is appreciated!!Have you tried smc and pram resets?
Try Detect Displays in the Displays preference pane.
Does the Displays preference pane Arrangement show two screens? If so do click gather windows and check the resolution setting of the new screen. -
Please help with a display problem.
I plugged in an external projector. It is now disconnected but I can't get the screen to return to normal. Help please.
1. Attempt to put the system to sleep and wake it back up and see if that doesn't correct the issue
(Command + Option+ Eject)
2. If that doesn't work Click on the in the upper left hand corner of the display and go to system preferences and check your display settings there.
3. If that doesn't work attempt to restart the machine with the projector not connected

Need help with Firefox display issue on one page of site
I have a page that W3C validates, displays properly in IE and Netscape, but does not display properly in Firefox. The issue is with a style class applied to the inner centered table. class= "vert_table" This class works on all of the other pages in the site, but not in this one.

I have been looking through this code for two days, searching for any offending omission in code or redundancy that would break the page. I've searched for missing div tags but none are apparent to me. I'm hoping someone with fresh eyes can spot it right away.

I could revert back to a saved page, but I updated text and images on this page before the verticle border broke, so I don't want to lose those edits. And that is why I'd like to fix this one instead of redesigning the page.

So I went to best buy tonight and got a new laptop. The only one left was the display model which was ok since it was in good shape. Problem is I get home and it's in demo mode and I can't figure out how to reset it or get rid of the demo mode setting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
