Help with Installing PS CS4 Over Current CS4, Please.

Hi,
When I start up PS CS4, I get a message that not everything is being loaded correctly and I'm told to re-install PS.
Will installing over the current version on my HD overwrite all of my plugins, actions, presets, etc so that I have to load them again?
Or, will it simply load whatever is missing?

I've attached a screen shot of the message.
It says:
"One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."
Anyone know what that means?
Unless there is something else to do, I'll just reinstall as they request.

I just installed Creative Suite CS4 in place of CS3. CS4 Installed fine.
NOW I can NOT edit any clips to Encore and then to burn a DVD. -- OR Export to Tape.
My camera is a Sony HVR-V1U High Def which shoots at 1080/60i. My desktop recorder is a Sony GV-HD700. I put recorded tapes into this and feed into Premier by firewire connection. All HAS worked fine in CS3. The Capture window accepts the cameras and recorders under Sony Standard, as no listing is given by a specific name.
To make Capture work, I must set the input clips as a DV;,...NOT as a HDV. No HDV setting will allow me to Capuure footage. Only DV.
     ????? How can I Capture HDV????
     ???? Am I missing some 3rd party capture card??? Did NOT need one in CS3.
* To be sure, Please tell me what settings to establish when setting up a NEW edit. or a new project.
* I can capture the clips into Premier fine & save as a project...But CS4 will not export to Encore
*   After edits and rendering and saving, I attempt to Export to Encore to burn DVD's. ENCORE does NOT appear in the Export window. I did locate a link to ENCORE via Dynamic lionk in File of the project. BUT as ENCORE attempts to accept the project, the horizontal rendering bar stops and effort stops. There is NOT a saved ENCORE folder or project, as was with CS3 in the compute, where Premier established the Encore file in normal process. (All Encore project files from CS3 are found in My Docs//Larry//Adobe//Premier//3.)
(Note: I could NOT register and get Adobe help when I purchased this Program because I am involved in environmantal remediation in remote jungles. Just returned to do files and make films of our work. Adobe refuses to help me as they have for many years as a no cost service upon purchasing a program.)
Please assist me. I am really stuck on this now.

I do still have CS3 and CS 4 installed on 2 computers. 1 with Win 7 and 1
with XP. At this moment, I am happ0yt I did not erase CS3 because I have
"cludged" a way to go forward until a fix for CS4 Encore crasing BOTH
computers when engaged to burn a DVD from either Premier CS 3 or CS4.
In fooling around with the software, I have reduced my issues to two: (1)
Encore CS4 crashes both computers when sending a Premier project to be
converted into a DVD. (2) It seems that a 3rd party software patch or a
card is necessary to send 1080i into Premier. Premier at its present
settings will NOT keep input (capture footage) as 1080i (HDV) and allow to
be captured. Must change Capture settings to DV so footage can be input.
There MUST be a fix for that.

Hello, I'm looking for a bit of help with installing Mac OS X 10.6.3 without screwing up.
I currently have a Macbook with 10.6.3 on it, and I want to COMPLETELY reset my Mac. I want to have a pretty much brand new Mac with 10.6.3, which I have the disk for. I actually just updated from 10.5.8, hoping that it would erase my hard drive and re-install, but it didn't. So I would like help with how to completely reset my Mac, and re-install 10.6.3.

Use that disk, but after booting from it and before running the install, choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu and erase the drive.

Installing Elements 11 on Mac 10.8.2. Need help with install error: Setup wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this." After entering Adobe password, nothing happens. Locked from further installation. Any ideas? Adobe phone support could not help.

Just before letting changes (installation in this case) be made on the system, Mac OS prompts for password & this has to be the Mac system password. This password prompt is the system's own native prompt & would accept the system password only. Please make sure it is the right system password (all/admin rights) and the installaion should run.

Congratulations on installing an upgraded HDD into your PowerBook.
I am not sure exactly what happened in the formatting process, but here are some directions that should help:
Formatting, Partitioning Zeroing a Hard Disk Drive
Warning! This procedure will destroy all data on your Hard Disk Drive. Be sure you have an up-to-date, tested backup of at least your Users folder and any third party applications you do not want to re-install before attempting this procedure.
Boot from the install CD holding down the "C" key.
Select language
Go to the Utilities menu (Tiger) Installer menu (Panther & earlier) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in left side bar.
Select Partition tab in main panel. (You are about to create a single partition volume.)
Select number of partition in pull-down menu above Volume diagram.
(Note: 1 partition is normally better for an internal HDD. External HDDs usually have more than one. See Dr. Smoke’s FAQ Backup and Recovery for tips on partitioning external HDD.)
Type in name in Name field (usually Macintosh HD)
Select Volume Format as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
Click Partition button at bottom of panel.
Select Erase tab
Optional: (Select the sub-volume under Manufacturer ID (usually Macintosh HD).
Check to be sure your Volume Name and Volume Format are correct.
Select on Security Options button (Tiger) Options button (Panther & earlier).
Select Zero all data. (This process will map out bad blocks on your HDD. However, it could take several hours. If you want a quicker method, don't go to Security Options and just click the Erase button.)
Click OK.
Click Erase button
Quit Disk Utility.
Open installer and begin installation process.

How can I contact Adobe support to get help with deactivating my cs4 license on a computer that I cannot access anymore?

My mac laptop recently went kaput. So I got a new one and I restored my most recent time machine backup to it. The restore went well, but I am not unable to open my cs4 programs.
When I try, I get a message that says "Licensing for this product has stopped working..." and it gives an error code 150:30
I have tried looking for solutions myself, but nothing that I have seen on the forums has been able to resolve the issue. As far as I can tell, I think that I have to reinstall my master collection and reactivate it, however, in order to do that, I think that I will need to deactivate my old version, that is installed on my dead laptop.
So, I need help with a couple things.
1. I need to get in touch with adobe support in order to get my license deactivated. But the new adobe support system just basically sends me to the forums without providing any way to get in touch with an actually adobe support person directly.
2. I think that I will need a link to download my install media because my original media came on a series of disks, but my new laptop does not have a disk drive.

Help with installing CS3 on new Mac

Recently purchased new Macs for the department. Cannot install CS3! It asks for the CS2 license number which we have. Turns out it doesn't recognize it. Called customer support and everyone had the same answer, but no solution. I purchased the CS2 corporate license when we had about 6 Macs. Now, we're down to 3 so I purchased the CS3 as individual suites. They said there is no workaround with getting CS3 to recognize the CS2 license! We called 4 different times and talked to 4 different reps who gave us all the same broken-record response. Any help with be greatly appreciated!

I believe that is essential what the customer service folks were telling my designer. However, both was installed before on the old Macs (CS2 corporate licensed and CS3 individual license) - that's the odd thing, is that it worked before on an older system. All we did was buy new hardware.
I hope this isn't Adobe's way of making us upgrade to CS4 - lol!

Help with Installing flash error- metafile cannot be loaded

I read the forum on this but it ended last year and there was no response to some recent questions on this and the direct email to the Adobe rep. on there got no response.
I am having this problem with installing Flash- it gets about 30% of the way and then a message comes up that says the metafile cannot be loaded.
I am running 10.7.5 on Mac, all browser software is current. I use both Safari and Chrome. After it said Flash was out of date I tried to update but got the metafile error. So I uninstalled Flash to install it fresh but the same error came up. I tried everything recommended from the forum. I also did all the steps from the help list direct from Adobe ( deleting Flash files, folders, rebooting, etc.) The offline link Adobe provides says the "file cannot be found" so I can't download that either. So I tried the online link download, but even after doing all the steps in order etc. I still get the error when I try to install it.
I have no firewall and have no virus software running. I also tried the direct offline links that others have provided from 2013, (unfortunately they are old) in both clicking on them and also downloading by right click but they are dead links and even the download for it has no content.
Any help that is more recent than last year? If this is in the wrong place, apologies. New to the forum.

I tried all solutions but one posted in adobe support. I am local administrator but IE security settings are set by group policies and buttons in tools security setting are grayed out.
After three days with "The ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered" message I tried registering the activeX control manually.
Bingo! that made the trick.
So open a DOS window, type "regsvr32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10d.ocx" -first check if this directory exists and contains the Flash10d.ocx (no quotes needed) and you should receive a confirmation that it registered correctly.
I must say that I've tried so many ways that I cannot repeat the correct order before this has worked ;-(

The systems I have been tasked with installing is the following
ECC (Enterprise Core Component)
BW (Business Warehouse)
SRM (Supplier Relationship Management)
EP (Enterprise Portal)
PI (Process Integration
I have been wandering around on the SAP website and found a load of documents referring to the install however I don't seem to be able to find the correct software or guides to help me with installation of these system.
Please could someone help me by giving me the links to the documents that I would require. Also I would like to know how do I actually install each system? Can I download all the applications on this site? Any other information you could give me would be great.

Need help with duplicate print jobs over network that I can't cancel

I have the Photosmart Premium All-in-One on my home network. My kids who each have laptop running Windows 7 and are connected via wireless to the printer via a DLINK DIR-655.
They hit the print button too many times and it keeps printing over and over again.
Is there a way to get the printer to stop printing these duplicates. I tried turning off/on but they just keep printing.
We're wasting paper/ink and I need help with a solution.

There should be a button with a red 'X' on it on the front of the printer. This is the print cancel button.

Mac mini shut down with USB and USB Over Current Notice

I just spent the day dealing with my mini shutting down when I connected my iphone. If I left it connected at restart, I got the infamous USB Over Current Notice. I tried all suggestions and finally used an apple connector instead of the one I had been using. Everything OK again... Other comments? It was very time consuming and frustrating.

Do you have other devices connected to USB ports ?
