Help with iphoto book in iphoto 08

Ok.. I made a book in iphoto 08 using the Crayon theme. the cover in my theme is blue... When I click order book... it only gives me two options for a cover... brown or black... am I missing something??? are these themes not available to print even though they show as options??? Need help before I order.

so here it is.. In Itunes 08 you only have two choices for book cover.. brown or black.. the dust cover will be what you see in your pdf.. that came from iphoto support.
Would that be in iPhoto'08 by chance?

That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.

Problems with ordering Books from iPhoto '09

I tried ordering 2 books from iPhoto ’09 (version 8.1.2 (424) - this is the iPhoto that I have) yesterday, and I got this message: "Please check your network connection and try again"... so I checked my network connection and it was fine. I tried again summiting the order and the same message appeared again
I checked all the photos and everything look fine. So, I tried to summit the order again. The same message appeared. I stopped trying sending it again.
After, I checked my emails and saw that I got charged 3 times for the books! I never got an email from apple with a confirmation number for the order(s) nor nothing! I tried looking for a number or email that I can send them about my problem but I can’t anything.
Please Help! I have a deadline to meet.
How can I know if at least one order went through and how can I stop two of the charges?

Trying to order iPhoto Book using iPhoto 5 - HELP!

Having spent ages creating an iPhoto Book for my loved one for xmas, I couldn't order/purchase it! I have iPhoto version 5 (5.0.4) and message said I needed to upgrade to iLife (cost £69). Then some technician at local Apple Store told me I would also have to upgrade to Leopard in order to run iLife (cost £129) I currently run my iBook G4 on Mac OS X (10.4.11).
This is turning out to be a very expensive gift! Is this the only way to get my Book? I am worried if I purchase these (can't really afford it anyhow) that I will loose the Book I have created (will it still be there?)..also having problems with my laptop anyhow (wont stay charged - have it permanently plugged into electric socket....and memory seems to be an issue also!)
Any advice would be really welcome...I don't really understand what I should do!

Thanks TD for this prompt response - which is much appreciated. I am a bit of a novice to say the least...so sorry if this is a silly question. Can I download iPhoto 06 or 08 via the internet or do I have to physically purchase a CD and install myself? Can't find Iphoto to buy on ebay and places like Amazon and Play.com seem to sell iLife software?

IPhoto books in iPhoto - The new Photos program only has square photo books. Will I be able to edit/order books with iPhoto after I upgrade to Photos?

I have many photo books created in iPhoto. These are rectangular shaped. The new Photos program only has square shaped books. After I upgrade to Photos, will I still be able to order books using iPhoto? Or, will Photos allow me to edit books in their original rectangle shape, and order them?

The new Photos.app will have the classic rectangular sizes as well.

It only mentions the new square format, but the classic layouts are there as well, as the picture shows.
But you may not be able to migrate the old book projects. Finish any current book project while still using iPhoto '11 and create new projects in Photos.

Urgent Help with Planning Book

Hello Gurus,
Need your help with a very urgent issue. I cannot see my key figure values in my planning book(Interactive Planning). I could sucessfully generate my CVC, then initialised my planning area. Then when I go the interactive planning I can see all my characteristics -Ex Material master( has all values), Prod type has values, etc. Iam in DEV system and have to move the whole config to QA now. I have to validate that the config works in QA. Its works ok in the sandbox but I cannot figureout why I can not see the values for key figs that Iam loading from a Flat File. Please help!!!!!!

I have one more question for you. Let me tell you my scenario. I have the client giving me a rough forecast for the future. I have to do stat forecast based on the history and check that against the initial forecast given by them. But, the problem I realised now is that when I go to my planning books I can see the values for 2008 in mothly buckets since I have 0calmonth. But the client gave me another file with forecast for 2008 in monthly buckets and for 2009 and 2010 in quarter buckets. So, i have a planning buck profile defined to meet that but, how do I upload the file with both 0calmonth and 0calquarter in a single file. Please let me know!! Urgent task.

Need help with order booking tutorial

I am new to OracleFusion.
Started Learning By practising OrderBooking tutorial for 10g.
I am practising parellel branching in the tutorial .
I ve invoked Rapid distributors service in branch 1 of the flow activity.
and
i ve invoked Select manufacturing service in branch 2 of flow activity.
I ve deployed order booking service,rapid distributed service,select manufacturing service in the server.
Select manufacturing service is an asynchronous service .for this service to be complete it requires user to manually set price for the item ordered.
So I accesed SelectManufacturinUI in browser as instructed in book.The problem is tht it is directing me to login page where User id and password should be submitted.
In the tutorial no info is given regarding login details fot this page.Hence i am not able to set price for order.
So the Select manufacturing service is not completed ..hence i am not able to move further in the tutorial..
Kindly help with this..if any one has faced same prblm

If, on any turn, the player rolls a 1, all points accumulated for that round are forfeited and control of the dice moves to the other player. If the player rolls two 1s in one turn, the player loses all points accumulated thus far in the game and loses control of the dice. The player may voluntarily turn over the dice after each roll. Therefore the player must decide to either roll again (be a pig) and risk losing points, or relinquish control of the dice, possibly allowing the other player to win. Implement the computer player such that it always relinquishes the dice after accumulating 20 or more points in any given round.
I realize this is a long code, so it would be greatly appreciated to anyone who writes this one for me, or can at least give me any parts of it. I honestly have no clue how to do this because our professor is a dumbass and just expects us to know how to do this...he doesn't teach us this stuff...don't ask. If you are genuine, the program is very easy to write, so, your Professor is correct when he said you should
be able to do it. I'm still very much in the beginner category at java, and it took me only 20 mins to write
(+5 mins to design it on paper). 2 classes in one file < 100 lines. Most of the regulars here would do it in half the time / half the lines.
All of the clues are in the description, break them down into their various if / else conditions. Write it down on paper.
Have a go. Try to achieve something. Post what you've tried, no-one will laugh at you, and you will be
pleasanty surprised at the level of help you will get when you've "obviously" made some effort.
Again, have a go. If you don't like problem-solving, then you don't like programming. So, you gotta ask
yourself - "what am I doin' here?"

Help with Quick Books 2005 reinstall

I purchased QuickTime pro for pc in 2011. I updated my pc to windows 7 and lost QuickTime Pro. I still have the product number. Can I reinstall it or do I have to buy again.
Reinstall the free QT 7 Player for windows if not already installed. Then, if you still have the account name (to include any salutation or suffix used) under which you purchased the 'Pro" key and the registration key itself, simply re-enter this information in the basic player to turn on the "Pro" features. If you don't have this information, you can try accessing your "History" list of recent purchases on the country Apple Online Store of purchase to see if the information is still there. (Unfortunatly, most users recently trying to retrieve this information have stated that QT Pro registration information seems to be missing on the sites.)

Can anyone help with workflow problem between iPhoto and Photoshop CS4?

I am very new to CS4 Extended, having upgraded from Elements 6 recently. I use iPhoto '08 to do all my photo organization and really enjoy it, have a LOT of work invested in it and don't really want to switch to anything else if I can help it. One aspect I like about it is that it tucks away my original in case I ever need to revert. With Elements, I could set my iPhoto preferences to allow all my editing to be done externally using Elements 6, but it would only allow 4 photos to be sent over to Elements at a time. Then I would have to go back to iPhoto and "get" more. I thought that when I upgraded to CS4, I would at least be allowed four at a time to be sent from iPhoto to Photoshop for editing. Whenever I do this, it sends only one, maybe two, but never four. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I'm annoyed at having to constantly go back for one or two photos at a time to edit and wondered if anyone knew of a workaround for this problem. The reason I have done it this way all along is that the two programs would work together and update my iPhoto pics and thumbnails automatically. Since then, I have just opened the iPhoto files from within CS4, but the edit doesn't update the thumbnails, only the enlarged versions within iPhoto. Neither Apple nor Adobe has been able to offer any solutions. I am not looking to create multiple copies of my files. I download straight from my camera to iPhoto. I could always just download them to a folder, edit them in CS4 and then import them into iPhoto, but that would necessitate making a copy of the photos to keep the originals safe and I'm not sure I want to have to organize all my originals elsewhere on top of my iPhoto library. I am very open to suggestions!

I appreciate your response. I recently did a reinstall, hoping it might help. It didn't seem to make any difference. Don't know if I need to just switch to a different program like Lightroom or just do all my editing outside of iPhoto and then import the results, but that defeats the purpose of letting iPhoto handle my originals so easily. I really like iPhoto and what it does, and have spent a lot of time getting my library compiled just the way I like with keywords, ratings and so on, and I'm afraid that switching to a new product will lose a lot of that work and either cause me to split my library into two places or to create unnecessary duplicates.

Help with slideshow & labeling from iPhoto and Apperture on iMac

I have an extremely long slideshow of photos on iphoto which is causing me not to be able to download it to a DVD. I was told that if I put it in Apperture, I would be able to make the DVD from there. Can someone please help me with this project? I also need to know how to insert names over the photos, or at the bottom of each one. I did this for a family reunion and promised everyone a DVD and now it's 6 months later and I still don't have them ready. Thanks in advance for your time and assistance. D

Export the slideshow from iPhoto, that makes a movie of it.
Do you want to use this DVD in a domestic DVD player? If so, then the disk will have to be 'authored' to make it the correct form for that. If you have iDVD then that's the app you use. However, iDVD is no longer developed or distributed by Apple. You may be able to get it on an old iLIfe install disk.

You don't need Aperture for this.

Help with importing picasa vs iphoto

I recently moved from my PC to a macbook. On my PC I used Picasa for my fotos and now I'm trying to work with iPhoto. But I don't know how to get it to do what I want.
So my problem is: How can I make iPhoto import my pictures automatically? In Picasa I just copied them from wherever on my disk and as soon as I opened Picasa it imported them and if I added pictures to an existing folder it added them to what was in Picasa before. When I try to do that in iPhoto, I end up with duplicate Events where one has 13 and the other 24 fotos (example).
What am I doing wrong?

The two apps - though similar -are not the same. Picasa has a "watched folder" system, where it detects changes and imports the files on launch. iPhoto doesn't. There's a shareware application that will set this up for you called Hazel or you may prefer to configure Folder Actions and an Applescript. (tip: Hazel is easier )
iPhoto will not add photos to an existing Event. Each import is a separate thing and is auto-divided into Events based on date and time.
If you want to auto-configure things, try using Smart Albums. Using this you can automatically gather all the photos from a specific date or date range into an Album. The Album will draw all the files in the Library that match the specification irregardless of which import they are in.
Because Albums are virtual entities they use up no extra disk space. Events in the iPhoto Window correspond exactly with the Folders in the Originals Folder in the iPhoto Library package file (Right click on it in the Pictures Folder -> Show Package Contents).
You can move photos between Events, you can rename Events, edit them, create them, as long as you do it via the iPhoto Window. Check out the Info Pane (wee 'i', lower left) the name and date fields are editable. Edit a Event Name using the Info Pane, the Event Folder in iPhoto Library/Originals will also have the new name.

Help with organizing events in iPhoto

I'd like to create individual, personalized events in my iPhoto but I cannot figure out how to do this. create. It seems that the events are currently organized by way of when they were downloaded. I'd like to essentially pick these disorganized events apart and make my own folders. It's probably a simple fix but I can not seem to figure it out.

Are you wanting to create Albums instead? Events are created by options you have set up in your Preferences. You can rename them, but I'm thinking that what you are describing are Albums. If so then this link should help:

Need help with script to save iPhoto RSS pix to album

Hi all. I'm a very green Applescripter needing some pointers.
Goal: Create a script to "save" pictures from subscribed RSS feeds in iphoto (they get automatically deleted when they fall off the RSS feed).
I can "add" or "duplicate" the images from the subscribed album to my "archive" album but I can't figure out how to tell if I've already copied an image or not. Is there some way to say something like:
if RssPhoto exists in ArchiveAlbum then
don't copy
else
do copy
end if
I tried doing a file name comparison but iphoto adds a incremental number to the filename so it ends up failing the comparison.
