Help with iTunes and Windows 8

Hi. I just upgraded to Windows 8. Somehow all my iTunes music transferred to Xbox Music instead of to the the iTunes application. Does anyone know how to transfer the music back to iTunes? I also tried to sync my iPhone to my desktop, since my iPhone has all the songs, but I could not find out how to do that either.  HELP!
Thank you!

Hello RavensFan94
For both your issues, it sounds like you are having a hard time connecting to the iTunes Store to get album artwork and viewing content. Check out the article below for some troubleshooting options to get it working again.

  • Help with Itunes and Windows ME please

I have a Nano and use it with Windows XP with no problems. We purchased a 3rd generation Nano for my parents and their computer is several years old and uses Windows ME but the Itunes site says it is only for XP and Vista. What alternatives do I have other than to tell them to buy a new computer?

    Thats true but...
Lets say you had the minamum requirments for me then you would need to upgrade the Hard Ware. XP is really cheap now so its worth the xtra bucks.

  • Need Help with iTunes and Windows 7

    Hi,
I recently purchased a new Dell laptop and tried to install iTunes for my iPod and iPhone. The first time I tried it out it ran smooth as anything, but if I'm connected to the net things start to go downhill. At my flat in University (no internet connect) it ran fine, but the second I went to the University computer room with my laptop, iTunes wouldn't open.
I have uninstalled and re-installed several times now, but obviously dont want to have to do this again and again...
    Can anyone please help?
    Thank you in advance
    Dan

but the second I went to the University computer room with my laptop, iTunes wouldn't open.
What security software are you running on the PC, Dan? (Firewall, antivirus, antispyware?)

  • HELP!!  Issues with iTunes and Windows 8.1.

So I recently upgraded to a new laptop with Windows 8.1 and I have been experiencing some issues that I need assistance with. So far the issues I need help with are:
When I try to get album artwork for my songs, it gets through a small fraction then just kind of freezes.I have a lot of songs and albums but I have never had this problem before.
When I try to connect to the iTunes store, it takes quite awhile and then I am left with either a blank screen or album/song/etc. names and no pictures. And when I click on another link, it takes forever (again) and I experience the same issue while trying to travel to the new page.
I don't know what else to do and I can't figure out a solution. Please help me!!!

  • Problems with iTunes and Windows Vista

I just got a new dell computer that came with Windows Vista. I'm new to Vista, and just downloaded iTunes. I was able to add my music and it will play, but I can't edit track information. I downloaded iTunes from the administrator account, so I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. Please help!!

For windows vista, like someone suggested, it may change your permission for editing a file and appear grey screen. As such, the following step might solve this problem.
Go to "Computer", go to your portable hard drive, right click and go to "Properties". Select "Security" Under the "group and user names" choose your user name. To change the permission, choose "Edit" Under permission column, choose "Full Control". After this you may able to edit song information in your itunes.

  • Having problems with iTunes and windows 8

I recently bought a new windows 8 laptop and at fiirst my music library was in the cloud through itunes match.  Music played through the speakers, and through the headphone jack.  But it seems that when I used iTunes match to download the library to my new laptop I have not been able to play anything on iTunes, the time indicator moves and shows playback but no sound. Help.

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes for Windows forum.

  • Burning cds with itunes and Windows Vista

It seems like my problems with itunes are never ending on my HP laptop with Windows Vista. Originally, itunes screwed up my disc drive, but then I downloaded the 64 bit version of it and that turned out ok. However, whenever I started itunes it says it wasn't downloaded properly and I won't be able to import or burn cds. I've downloaded it before multiple times to see if that message would go away when I started it up, but it didn't. That was fine for a while because I never burn cds but today I wanted to and it wouldn't work. It would say Disc Recording not found. So, I thought I should upgrade to the new itunes 8.1 but I was afraid to because it might screw up the disc drive again. And of course, it did. I even downloaded the 64 bit version. So I guess my question is, how can I install the 64 bit version without that error message and be able to burn cds?

    paul's onto it.
if you run your DVD/CD diagnostics (in itunes "help > DVD/CD diagnostics", select DVD/CD diagnostics) and you see a 2380 error showing up down near the bottom of the diagnostics (you may need to scroll down a bit), try reinstalling the 64-bit version of the GEAR drivers iTunes uses for importing and burning.
here's a link through to the GEAR drivers. note that there are two different versions of the 64-bit drivers. be sure to get the one that matches your hardware:

    Hi All,
I have just upgraded to Windows 7 and am having problems with itunes.
When i installed the 64 bit version of itunes (my operating system is 64 bit) and select it i get an error saying "itunes.exe has been set to run in compatability mode for an older version of windows. For best results turn off compatability mode for itunes before you open it".
When i right click the itunes link and check compatability mode nothing is checked except run as admin.
Now with itunes the latest itunes i can not even select an app to remove or move.
    Can someone please help me?

    Fixed my problem myself.
I was installing itunes to my d drive so i uninstalled it and installed it to the c drive with my operating system.

  • Help with itunes and ipod

I want to copy some songs from my ipod to my pc, but I don`t know how to do it.
My ipod isn't syncronized with my library and I don't know which other way to do it.
I just downloaded iTunes 7, but I think there area few bugs.
The PREFERENCE window is way to big and I can't save hte changes.
please, if anyone can help me!

"I want to copy some songs from my ipod to my pc, but I don`t know how to do it."
If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

    iGadget Windows Only
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions

"I just downloaded iTunes 7, but I think there area few bugs. The PREFERENCE window is way to big and I can't save hte changes"
Click on the chevron > to the left of the iPod icon in the Source list. This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the traditional song view with the information at the bottom.

Hello! no, you haven't stumped the pros. This is a user board. No pros here to stump, just volunteers.
Shuffles are only designed to sync with one PC. Connect it to your PC and restore it to factory settings. Eject it. When your wife connects it to her PC, it should get recognized.

  • Help with Itunes and my 1st gen. Ipad

Let's just say 1st of all that I have learned a a very big lesson about running programs from an external hard drive.  I have Itunes set to run from my external and I am having a problem with it being corrupt and that is another issue that I am getting fixed.  Anyways I uninstalled Itunes and re-installed it to my hard (C:)drive.  When I go to plug my Ipad in I keep getting an error message of Itunes library .itl cannot be read, created by newer Itunes version.  I uninstalled Itunes again and went back to download an older version.  I got the same error.  Does anyone happen to know what I can do to get my Ipad to work with Itunes again. I am running Win 8 64 bit. on my laptop.
    Thanks for the help!!
    Mindy

    Hello casinojen,
I would be concerned as well if my iPad was not recognized by iTunes.  Thank you for providing all the information with the steps you took in regards to this issue.  I found an article with a few more steps you can take (you can skip the steps you have already taken):

  • Need help with Itunes and IPod Shuffle

I have the latest updates for both Itunes and the IPod Shuffle. I have Itunes on two different PCs, one for the wife and one for myself. I got a new Nano and gave my wife the Shuffle I had and she gave her shuffle to a friend. Everything has worked just fine in the past. When she plugged in my shuffle it asked if she wanted to sync to this PCs library and she said yes. Everything went fine except that no files will copy to the shuffle. It seems to take a VERY long time to sync as well. I tried dragging a song or a playlist but it just sits in sync mode for a long time and then when it's done there is no music on the shuffle. I don't understand the problem. When I attach the shuffle to my PC it asks if I want to sync to the library and everything works, files transfer, no problem. Putting back on her PC and going through the resync business again results in the same situation. Help!

  • Has anyone else had problems with ITunes and Windows 7?

I have had problems with the update - 'server busy' and it locking up while synching my IPhone with my laptop (upgraded to Windows 7) - any suggestions? I have lost all my pictures

Let's try the following user tip with that one:
