Help with itunes install
I'm getting an error when i try to install itunes on my windows laptop which says that I am trying to install the wrong itunes.msi file. I have tried after using the microsoft installer cleaner, deleteing the temp files, etc but nothing seems to be helping. Can someone suggest a solution?
You are going to have to find an old version of itunes to work with 10.2. There used to be a place to get these, but last I checked it was gone. There might be a new one out there. It might be on your osx 10.2 install disks - I don't remember, and tossed them years ago. To be honest, before 10.4 you might almost be better off using os9. The blue and white ibooks are very old - they can probably not run any modern software. But some folks like to keep these old machines alive as a hobby - I'm not one of them, but know they exist, so if you want to do this keep looking. If you are in high school, that machine might have been made when you were in grade school (maybe) so keep that in mind - it is not representative of what you can get from from apple today.
Have fun, but don't expect to like it better than what you are using now.

I need help with re installing my apple account for itunes.

Your iTunes account is something at the iTunes Store online. It is not possible to uninstall it. Do you mean the iTunes application? Even if you delete the application and restore it, it should not have deleted your iTunes library (essentially the contents of the iTunes folder in Music) on your computer unless you did a separate steep and specifically deleted that too. You need to tell us what it was you deleted.

Need help with Itunes Authorization issue
I've been a Itunes/Ipod user for a couple years. During that time, I've sure spent over $500.00 on Itunes music from the Itunes store for my Ipod. My daugter and I both have Ipods.. There have only been 2 machines with Itunes installed here but I occasionally rebuild my computers to have the latest and greatest hardware for my business.. The other day I backed up all my music and data before rebuilding my machine due to hardware upgrades. Everything went smoothly including importing my purchased music back into Itunes.. The problem is I can't listen to it now. When I try to double click a song I get an error that says "You have already authorized 5 computers with this account. To authorize this computer you must first deauthorize one of the other computers" This isn't possible because the computers aren't around anymore to deauthorize. They were all housed (except 1, my daughters pc) in the same case as I have now.. Please respond...

I wiped my ipod classic and then my computer crashed, so i no longer have the songs i purchsed from itunes on my ipod or computer! I have a new computer now with itunes installed, can I get the songs purchased previously from itunes somehow?

STEP 1: Open iTunes
STEP 2: Navigate to the "iTunes Store". It can be found under the "STORE" tab.
STEP 3: On the right side of the store there should be a "Quick Links" Section. Click on the "Purchased" link.
STEP 4: Navigate to the "Music" tab and click on "All Songs". Then at the bottom of the screen there will be a button that says "Download All". Click the button and your songs will be begin downloading!
NOTE: This will only work with songs that you bought from the iTunes store, if you imported them from a CD, you will have to do it again.
NOTE: You can also do this with Apps, Movies, TV Shows, and Books.
NOTE: You may have to sign in with your Apple ID to verify the download.

I upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 8 with iTunes installed. Now my iPhone 4S is no longer recognized in iTunes. Connecting the iPhone with USB sends me directly to the MS app that downloads pictures from the iPhone. Suggest this is a question of missing Apple driver for Windows 8, iTunes and iPhone. MS does not care! This seems to be a general problem with Windows 8 that a number of drivers that used to work with Windows 7 now do not work, ie. iPhone to iTunes, HTC to HTCSync, Samsung to Kies etc. I need this connection to work in order to syncronize with Outlook and my iTunes library.

I just want to get some help using itunes. I have downladed music - paid for music, and can't get it into itunes. When I used th e'support' thing it just wanted to know my Mac serial numbers!! I don't have a Mac I hace a standard non Mac PC. So why can't I get help with itunes? Its taken me half an hour to get into this support thing because every single name I chose was taken!!!! Its just a nightmare. I hate it!
And now it tells me I must 'choose a community' and itunes isn;t listed! It gets worse! So I chose any community because this is just a never ending nightmare. 40 minutes ago now I clicked on support for itunes and I ended up here!Thanks again. I bought two albums. I am in the UK and its 23.43 so I have to give up and go to bed now. As I said I have had no probes with Amazon downloads. I did email CD baby for help but they just sent the links that you offered earlier.
I have tried to burn to CD so I can listen that way but though I go through all the motions I can't add the tracks to the burn list by copying and pasting, and I can't 'drag the tracks here' beacuse the tracks aren't showing, just the whole album folder. It looks like this:

I have an iPad that was setup on a laptop that has been reimaged. The iPad then had a password put on it and my kid who doesn't rememer the password. Since I don't have the original laptop with iTunes installed I cannot reset the iPad to the factory default. Any suggestions on how to reset to the iPad?

Help with iTunes database and Time Machine after Lion clean install
I did a clean install of OS X Lion and think I've given myself problems with my Snow Leopard Time Machine backup and with my iTunes Library database files.
My iMac (2007) had become very sluggish so I opted for a clean install. Before the install of Lion my Snow Leopard 10.6.8 internal 1TB HD was at about 600GBs. I was using Time Machine to backup to an external 1TB drive. I had my iTunes 10.? library on the same drive.
For the Lion install I partitioned my internal 1TB HD into two partitions - a 250GB Lion boot partition and the rest for Lion data files.
Now I have two problems - 1. I can't work out how to re-connect my Time Machine backups, since they were related to a much bigger original drive, and 2. I can't seem to find my iTunes database files.
I also don't want to restore any application files at this stage, as I'm determined to do a fresh install of only the applications I need as I go along, and hopefully avoid the issues of sluggishness I had with Snow Leopard.
I have all my iTunes files in their pre-Lion external HD folder, but that folder does not seem to have the iTunes Library.XML or iTunes Library files. I didn't delete them so I'm hoping they were in my iTunes folder on my SL boot drive. But that drive was deleted during the install, so I'll be depending on Time Machine to restore the database.
Can anyone suggest a way to deal with Time Machine for my Lion install, and a way to restore my iTunes database? I'd like to keep as much of the Snow Leopard Time Machine data as I can, while continuing to do Time Machine backups from my Lion installation.
Anyone know where iTunes stores those database files, if not in the external drive iTunes folder? Spotlight search doesn't find the files, but is there a way to search my old Time Machine backups without having the Time Machine backups folder re-connected in Lion?

Can anyone help. I was happily using itunes and then went to upgrade and now I have had all manner of issues with itunes. First I could use itunes but could not get web access wirelessly, so have reintalled itunes about 20 times, trying to follow advice on this site but I am sick of itunes now.
My current problem is that I install itunes 6, click on it and it will not open. I have tried to follow advice on this site but to no avail nothing helps...please help, help, help as this is so depressing! Ever since itunes messed with my PC it also now takes about 10 mins to shut down. I tried to install the old version of itunes and just got a crash box.

some preliminary questions (my standard preliminary questions with itunes 6.0.x or earlier versions).
are you getting an error message? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
or are you getting no error messages whatsoever when you try to launch itunes?
if you're getting no error messages whatsoever, do you just see the wee hourglass for a few seconds, and then nothing? if so, do you also have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on that PC?
or are you seeing a brief "flash" of the itunes license screen (and then nothing)? if so, do you also see similar behavior when you try to launch your QuickTime?
