Help with Lightroom Download

i have just downloaded Lightroom from Creative Cloud which was successful, however now i am trying to launch the application and it will not open on my computer.  I am wondering if this is something i am doing wrong or is this an issue with my system ?

    well the reason I wanted to talk to someone live because it would take forever to explain everything on here But anyway, here goes. I have an HP Pavilion Notebook with Intel Core i5-323om CPU @2.60 GHz and 8 gb ram 64bit. I am trying to run Lightroom 5.7 on my laptop and having major issues. I use an external hard drive for the storage of my photos. When I try to use Lightroom I run into many issues: Flickering of the screen, freezing up, slow, the loading circle just goes round and round lol. If I go to the washroom or leave the computer for even a minute it freezes up. I have to keep pressing Ctr/alt/delete to bring it back when it flickers. I have to constantly exit out of the program and restart it to be able to edit even just a couple of photos and then it starts acting up again.
    I have tried un-installing and re-installing, updating everything on my pc, changing compatibility settings, updating development settings, I even took the laptop into have it looked at and they did all kinds of updates etc...and still couldn't figure out why it wasn't working for me. I have gone through the lists of troubleshooting for LR problems and there just seem to be nothing that works.....I have made new catalogues, moved them, tried using the software on my pc without the EHD, etc etc.......I have tried EVERYTHING...I think.....so I was looking for some answers as to why this is happening....

  • Help with Lightroom

    Using iMac and currently all my photographs are accessed via iPhoto. I decided I wanted something more sophisticated to organise and edit my photos, so yesterday I downloaded the trial version of Lightroom 5. It downloaded and appears to operate fine, but two problems have emerged.
    Firstly you have to important your photos into Lightroom. For some reason Light room is not seeing or can not find any of the folders I've created over the last couple of months. So basically it not seeing or can't find all my phot folders.
    Secondly, the photo folders it has found, some of the images are greyed out. All my photos are in jpeg format.
    I hope this makes sense and one of you can offer me some advice.

    Your best bet for getting help with using Lightroom will be to post your issues in the Lightroom forum.  YOu might even find someone else has already posted a similar problem there and acquired a solution.

    I was able to download Adobe PS and Bridge, but not Lightroom 5. I purchased these items. They are not beta or trial. This is the error message I get. Please advise.

    Hi, I am using windows and I have the latest updates for both Lightroom and Photoshop. Although everything has been working okay, now all my options are greyed out in Lightroom when I want to go - Photo, edit in, Photoshop. The only things that have changed recently are I am using a new camera (but Lightroom and Photoshop have updates for it, and I have downloaded trial versions of Snap Art 4, DXO ViewPoint2 and DXO Optics Pro. Does anyone know why my options to edit in are greyed out? And, how to fix it please? Thanks.

    I think there may be other ways but as it's holidays there are less people around.
    Pretty sure removing the Preference file won't help but you can try that first by shifting the file and if no change replacing it. Here is the way to locate them:

  • Can someone help with my download of inDesign CS6?

    We bought inDesign CS6 online, but it didn't come with a disk. Instead I was prompted to go to the following link http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
    After downloading CS6 Design Standard (files 1 and 2), the larger of the two files was saved to my download folder as a 7Z file. The smaller file was the "extractor." I click on that and it gives me the folder location box, then I click next. At that point, the following message appears: "A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder" After click OK, this message appears: "A problem occurred while extracting the archive. Please try downloading the Adobe CS6 Design Standard again." After clicking OK, this is the last message that comes up: "Exception EListError in module DesginStandard_CS6_LS16exe at 0001B6E3. List index out of bounds (0)," accompanied by the dreaded red X.
    This wasn't a cheap purchase. And my computer is only five months old, so memory shouldn't be an issue. Does anyone have any suggestions? For starters, an idea on how to open a 7Z file? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Need help with a download and install problem with PS Elements-Elements opens but Premier has error popup

    I purchased PS Elements and Premier Elements through Academic Superstore as a download on Aug. 8, 2014. I am installing on a MAC Book Pro 10.9.4, and have tried reinstalling 3 times. I also searched the error messages on support and could not find the error I am getting. Every time I am able to open the Elements file will open and work, but the Premier file has a window pop up that says: The Following disk images couldn't be opened: Image - PremiereElements_12_WWEFDJ.dmg Reason - image not recognized. Does anyone have a solution?

  • Help with Photo Downloader in PE6

    Is there any way I can stop downloader shutting down when I download only part of the contents of my camera card? I download to My Pictures on my Pc (using Windows XP) creating folders then verifying and deleting files. As soon as I confirm the deletion the downloader closes and I have to re-open via the icon on the bottom toolbar. I would prefer that the downloader stays open is there any way I can do this? Thanks in anticipation

    Having re-read my original post I think it gives the impression I am using Windows XP to download pictures. I am of course using Photoshop Elements' Downloader. It is this program that shuts down after each batch of photos has been downloaded.
    Am I the only person with this issue? Am I expecting too much to ask it to stay open for each batch of pictures? Is there anybody out there who can comment?

    I downloaded two episodes of Mad Men. Both of them showed up twice in my library, each with an exclamation point next to the title. They freeze minutes into the program. Help!

    Is it frozen or is it stuck on hold? Connect it to your computer. Does it do anything. Does it say Do Not Disconnect when connected?
    If not, then the iPod may be frozen, so try to reset your iPod by holding down Menu and Select for 6-10 seconds...

    It may take several attempts. The above link also has "tips" if your iPod does not seem to be resetting.
    Now, if the iPod does say Do Not Disconnect, then the iPod may be stuck on hold. See if a restore helps...

  • Can someone help with a Download Error?

    I'm using a MacBook - I have tried a few times to download several updates for things such a firefox, or even to upgrade something from Apple itself.
    The download will start and go all the way through, then, at the end it says: Download Error ___blank____  cannot be opened, because of an unknown error  occured- Try saving to disk first then opening the file.
    What I'm trying to download currently is some type of upgrade because I am running Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and I'd like to have something newer if at all possible (maybe it's just not possible?)
    Any info would be helpful - also, if you can dumb it down a bit for me? Thank you.

    10.5.8 is as high as you can go for a download at this point. If you want a more recent OS you will need to purchase a disk with Snow Leopard (10.6) on it. Once that is installed you can go to Lion (10.7) or Mountain Lion (10.8) if your MacBook supports it, by a (paid) download.

    EVERYTHING I TRY TO DOWNLOAD MY TRAIL VERSION OF ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS CS5. OK THE ADOBE DOWNLOASD ASSISTANT DOWNLOAD. BUT WHEN I CLICK IT. IT OPENS A NEW FOLDER THAT HAVE THE ADOBE ASSISTANT IN IT. SO I CLICK ON THE ASSISTANT . AND IT ASK ME DO I WANT TO OPEN IT, I CLICK YES. AND THEN IT COMES ON MY DOCK. AND THEN AFTER I CLICK OPEN. IT JUST DISAPEAR FROM MY DOCK. AND DON'T OPEN. I HAD IT WORKING LAST NIGHT.

    Yeah, right.  I spent an hour trying on 'chat' and got nowhere.  They don't seem to know anything about the dl assistant.
    I tried to install from here:

    the dl assistant comes up and it downloads cs5 flash pro and then prompts me that my system is due for a 'restart' which I select 'ignore'.  Then it starts the installation and part way thru it prompts me to terminate ie and chrome.  Okay, soon as I do that the installation terminates altogther and I have to start all over.  Since it takes a long time to dl each time, all i want to know is where did the 'exe' go.  when the install starts it seems to be running something called pdapp.  i can't find the trial exe.  i did this yesterday with the flash builder and everything worked as expected but it looks to work completely diff with flash pro.  Why???  Where is the exe?

    Hello, I am new to photography and Lightroom 5.
    I just installed Lightroom 5 in my iMac from the Creative_Cloud. When I open the app., I get the following error message:
    "An error occurred when attempting to change modules". When I press OK, it goes away and I get a blank gray screen.
    The Library/Develop/Map/Book/Slideshow/Print/ Wed module buttons are displayed on the upper right side of the screen.
    "Lightroom 5 Catalog.Ircat - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom - Library" is also displayed at the top center of the screen,
    but nothing else.
    What am I doing wrong?
    I would like to import some photos into this catalog?
    I have also downloaded Photoshop and that app. is working fine.

    In Solution 5, I was able to verify that I have "Read & Write" priviledges,
    so that did not help.
    Solution 6 - I'm stuck. It suggests to Copy the Lightroom folder into a new user account or other existing account on your computer.
    Then, restart Lightroom. The Lightroom folder is in the following locations:
    Mac OS: [user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
    I am not that computer literate because this procedure seems confusing to me. I have located the Lightroom folder, but I am lost beyond
    that. I don't know where the "new user account" is or the other "existing account".

  • Please help with iTunes download error -50

    I have been never been able to download from iTunes and always get the unable to dowload error -50 message. I have seen people have this same question before on here and were able to fix it by adjusting their firewall settings, etc. I am not sure how to do that. I have Norton Internet Security and thought that may be conflicting with it as well. My computer is Windows XP SP2. Can anyone help me fix this? Any specific instructions would be helpful and much appreciated! Thanks!
