Help with limitations in a Canvas

Hi!
I'm having some troubles with the limitations of the Canvas, the thing is that i have an array with photos and i show them like the ipod does, the things is that i want to limit the size of the canvas or something, because the images slip outside the canvas, or HBOX or VBOX and overlap the other hbox that i have in the same canvas.
Could you help me? Did you get the idea.

I seem to recall from the dim and distant past that simply putting "\n" in the text doesn't work. But what does work is setting the label with html rather than plain text - then you can add html line-break code. Or I could be talking out of my arse - can't remember. Try it anyway.

Need help with multiple photographs in canvas- Hard Day's Night - Effect

I'm working on a music video for my son's 6th grade band and have taken a serious of photographs of each of the 4 band members in rapid sequence ala George Harrison in Hard Days Night when he is being photographed by the press and he changes his expression as the camera snaps away.
I have imported the photos {(jpg) 3.9 MB, frame size 3872 X 2592} in to Final Cut Express and have put each sequence of photos for each band member on the timeline on a different track. I then have tried to size each photo in the canvas so that they are equally spaced and even but I am having a difficult time setting them up as they don't seem to fit evenly in the canvas and need to be more square then rectangular to fit so that the photos don't move around and are stable. I have each photo changing on the beat of the music but since the photos them self keep moving - its ruining the effect I'm going for. Any suggestions on how to make this work would be appreciated.

A couple of thoughts -
Have you tried using Piero's QuarterPIP filter? This may make the job easier to manage and may provide more consistency than you are getting by doing manual scaling & positioning of the photos.
You mentioned that the pictures need to be more square than rectangular. Your photos at the size indicated have a 1.49:1 aspect ratio; the 16:9 video frame has an aspect ratio of 1.78:1; the mismatch could be the reason things don't seem to fit exactly. If you are using a 1920x1080 sequence, try experimenting with 4 photos that are cropped & resized to 960x540 before you import them into FCE. (960x540 is 1/4 the size of the 1920x1080 full frame, with the correct x & y dimensions to make them consistent and exactly fill the complete video frame when 1 is placed in each quadrant of the frame.)

I have looked at every video possible on this. I don't know what I am doing wrong?

I want to make my image capable of being a 36x24 inch gallery wrap. I realize I have to go into image size but when I raise it to a 36x24 my calculations go out the roof! Is that okay?

That is exactly why I am posting this... I HAVE NO FREAKING CLUE that I can reduce the dpi and if so how low can I go with my image needing to be sized at 36x24? Sorry, I am really just kidding around! I am no computer whiz with digital stuff, my love is strictly photography. I am so scared I will loose the quality I don't want to make a wrong move. I don't even know if I am suppose to up my size that much. I know my camera is good, but when it spits out a size like 18x12 in cs3 how high can I size it up and drop the dpi before I loose quality? Is there some kind of chart for this?

I need some help with limiter on main outs, gurus please read :)

Hello, I've just recently switched over from PT and I noticed almost immediately upon getting into logic that the main outs seem really loud when following my general mixing workflow that I'm use to using. In fact so much so that I can't really get a final product using ozone 4 like I was able to in PT. When I go to use the final stage of ozone 4 (the limiter) to maximize my volume without clipping, it pretty much just crushes my dynamics and overall mix into rubbish. What's going on here? What am I doing wrong? I'm not even limiting that much. Whereas before in PT I could limit it much more if I wanted to. Is there a setting somewhere in logic i'm missing? I know Pro tools and logic are different beasts so save the crappy comments, but there is a huge difference in main output behavior that just doesn't make sense to me and causes the same plug in (ozone 4) to act much differently.

Well it's not a mental hang up, as I've tried turning down the master fader substantially and ozone 4 still reacts differently than in PT, it sounds better without the loudness maximizer going, fuller and more dynamic. Whereas in PT I was able to utilize the maximizer to bring the volume up to a point and still not smash the mix. I've noticed this with pretty much anything I use a limiter/maximizer on in Logic. I don't understand what's going on. Surely I have something set funky somewhere? It's like it's putting a brick wall limiter on the mix even when I set it to intelligent and tweak everything a bit my meters just straight line, no movement, as if I have my volumes cranked to the max. Very subtle settings in ozone
we're talking -0.4 margin threshold -2.1 character set to very fast in intelligent II mode. This normally gives me a pretty decent amount of threshold adjustment to maximize volume. I'm stumped.

Help with limiting JOptionPane output to 2 decimal places

I don't seem to be able to figure out how to specify 2 decimal points in my output to a JOptionPane. I know how to do this in a standard program with no gui interface but I have been unsuccessful in my attempts with JOptionPane. Help with limited acc because of withdraw

The other day I actually managed to link my checking account attached to the prepaid debit card I got from card.com. From BanCorp, same folks who issue paypal cards. Anyways, gyft wouldn't let me buy an amazon gift card without an ID... don't have one of those, as they cost money. My friend had sent some money to help me finally get off my feet, a lovely $300. More than I'd ever seen physically. Anyways, I requested a bank transfer. This was rejected, and paypal has locked down my account because the bank said I didn't authorize it (didn't know I needed to call the bank about every little transaction that might take place...). So I went through the stuff to resolve the matter fairly quickly, until I got to proof of address. I don't have much mail, and the bit I have is from my card.com prepaid being mailed, and some from BofA as they accepted my application, and thusly canceled my account the next day. ..yeah. So paypal wants a driver's license and a utility bill. Neither of which I have because of multiple reasons, mainly poverty. My friend just wanted to help me out and first gofundme **bleep** us over and now paypal. Except I don't know if paypal will give him the money back since there's absolutely no way I can provide the information they want as my family doesn't have the means to help me get those things. Please if anyone has any suggestions, it would help incomprehensibly.. this is very depressing to be **bleep** over constantly just because I'm poor and can't have all these things..

Help with partial image loss from Viewer to Canvas

Hi--I'm brand new to FCP and would really appreciate any help with my problem. I'm creating 2 second video clips composed of four still images (15 frames...or 500ms each) laid back to back, then rendered. Very simple, I know. The individual images are tiff files that look great in the FCP Viewer. But in the Canvas, part of the image is missing. Specifically, in the center of each image there should be a + sign, about 1cm square. This + should remain constant thoughout the short movie, while the items around it vary (from image to image). (This is a psychology experiment, and the center + is a fixation cross.) The problem is that in the Viewer the + sign is intact, but in the Canvas (and the resulting rendered video), only the vertical bar of the + is present! This is true for every individual tiff, and for the resulting movie. The items around the fixation cross are fine. My question is WHY on earth does the central horizontal bar get "lost" between the Viewer and the Canvas? I've read the manuals, but obviously I've got something set wrong. Also, there is a considerable overall reduction in quality between the viewer and canvas, even though I'm trying my best to maximize video quality. Everything looks a bit blurry. Truly, all ideas are welcome. Sorry if it's obvious. Thanks.

steve, i'm viewing on my 23" cinema screen. i read up on quality and know that this is a no-no; that i should only judge quality when viewing on an ntsc monitor or good tv. the problem is that i'll ultimately be displaying these videos on my Dell LCD, so i've got to maximize what i've got. thanks to the discussion boards i have a short list of things to try now. thanks!

Aha! I have sorted it.
For those with similar problems, the solution is this:
Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > MIDI Drivers
Then delete DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin

the appletv will not be able to work on it's own
you can use a computer or iphone acting the role of hotspot login using it's browser and getting internet access and then sharing it with the appletv
so the appletv sees it as a wifi router it connects to

Desperately need help with a networked printer and SMB sharing for windows

Complete xServ newbie here. I'm a windows/novell admin, with limited experience in Unix and Linux.
Against my advice, a client of mine that owns a small office of 20 people bought an XServG5 to act as a server for 20 mixed Windows PCs. File sharing services are working fine. I've created the users, set up groups and rights - that's all good.
I cannot get an SMB shared printer to work from the windows machines. They run through the network printer install just fine, it shows up online, etc. However, when print jobs are submitted they DO show up in the printer queue on the server, sit there for a while, and then get moved to the completed box.
They never print. There's not any indication that the job is even submitted to the printer. I can print to the printer just fine from the server itself, but the windows clients don't work, but they don't return an error message.
Print services are running on the server, I've configured the printer name to be less than 12 characters for the share, and indeed it does pop right up during the "add network printer" routine.
Ideas? I'm not even sure what questions I'm supposed to be asking, such is my ignorance of the OS. I do know that I followed the documentation to a T, and according to Apple this should work.

We have the same problem. Our printer worked for about 2 years but failed similar to yours after a system update.
Can you go into the Windows service, Logs, Printer Service. Copy and paste the log here. What I am looking for is a line like lpr: CANNOTCONNECTCLIENT or something similar to this.
What I expect is that you have a problem where the cups defined printer is not usable. We can't get our problem fixed either - but am just curious if you have the same thing. We reloaded our server, applied all of the update and still cannot get it to work.
Again, I think it stems from the update.

New iMac extremely slow following migration (Help with Etre Check diagnosis)

New iMac - scheduled for genius bar on Friday but trying to avoid the trip. Migrated everything over from 2009 macbook pro to 2011 macbook and now 2013 iMac. I imagine there is a lot of cruft from the repeated migrations and am close to just wiping and migrating from scratch. I don't know, however, how to get my old mail and other critical settings over.
Problem is clearly in the user account. I created a separate admin account and that runs relatively fine. Is the below user account salvageable? Should I delete all my old permissions? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks for the Etrecheck program,

The figures you mention only make sense on your intranet. Are you still using the same wireless router. The verizon one is somewhat limited as far as max wireless-n performace. For one thing it only has a 2.4 radio. I like many people who wanted wireless-n performance before they even added a wireless-n gigabit router, have my own handling my wireless-n network.

Will a CS5 Master Suite serial work on a CS5.5 download just with limited features?

I just got a new computer and can't find my discs that I purchased for the CS5 Master Collection to install it...I got my serial from Adobe's site - will this serial work with the trial download of CS5.5(With limited features)? Or is there still a CS5 download somewhere? I'm just seeing the CS5.5 downloads on the download page - not sure if an old link is still around and active.

Guess I understand what is going on as I'm also experiencing the problem.
Basically the issue is about the iPhone 4's personal hotspot.
I'm trying to hook on personal hotspot to my toshiba laptop but it couldnt work as the connection is limited to local only without Internet access.
The hotspot works well on other laptop and I-devices, but not my toshiba...
