Help with linux webcam support in an AIR application!

I am running the 32-bit edition of Ubuntu 10.04.
I recently purchased an application through AIR - PartyBooth (www.partyboothapp.com)
It is written in Adobe AIR, and is a simple program to operate a photobooth. I have 3 different webcams:
1) Logitech Webcam Pro 9000
2) Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro
3) Microsoft LifeCam Cinema
All 3 of these cameras work in every linux webcam software (including skype). They are very well supported webcams in linux.
They do work in the Partybooth application, however, the resolution is locked at 240x240 - which is way too low of a resolution to take nice pictures with. (Again, these cameras all work at full HD resolution in every other linux application that I have ever tried)

Help need in drag drop operation in AIR application

I would like to know if there is a way to drag and drop an attachment file from an desktop mail client application(similar to MSoutlook) into an AIR application and make it accessible to the AIR application.
I did experiments with this the drag operation and its giving AIR a File Promise List format as its file type.
But I'm not exactly sure how to make use of it once it is dropped. The examples in web explains how to manupilate File Promises list format from an AIR application to the desktop.
There is not much explainations about droping a file promise list format into an AIR app. your valuable help will be greatly appreciated.

Adobe Developer Help with Linux Plugin (nppdf.so)

Hello,
I am trying to get in touch with someone at Adobe who is familiar with the Adode Reader Plugin for Linux (nppdf.so) source code.
I have been working for several months, trying to debug a problem with nspluginwrapper (which allows the Adobe Reader Plugin to run on 64-bit Linux systems) that seems to be affecting a fairly large number of users.
Basically, the problem is that, after viewing an initial PDF, closing the PDF, acroread exits. After this point, nppdf.so (when run under nspluginwrapper) seems unable to start a new copy of acroread. I've turned on debug in nppdf and the problem appears to be occurring in ACT_Open. If I could get some information about what is happening in ACT_Open, I think I could probably figure out this problem. I don't think this would take very long to resolve with a small bit of help from Adobe.
Here is a snippet from the debug log that shows what happens when the problem is occurring:
ACOpen : Calling ACT_Open
ACT_Open : Launch acrobat if required
ACT_Open : Acrobat launched successfully
ACT_Open : Trying to connect to acrobat
ACTSocketConnect : Error in connect
ACT_Open : Finished trying to connect to acrobat

An just incase someone looks at this and wanting to know what I typed well this is what I typed in the .bashrc file
export NPX_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0_02/jre/plugin/i386/ns4
and then I had to log out and log back in then you should beable to open netscape and go to edit/preferences/advance/ then you should be able to click on enable java plugin and it should work for you just fine well thats all

I'm afraid your Live! Ultra webcam isn't compatible with the Live! Cam Doodling software.

Help with a webcam driver

I was giving a webcam today by a friend of mine that he said he didn't use. It's relatively old, and I figured I would give it a try.
It's model no. Pd1100, Creative Labs cam.
I'm using Windows XP Professional
I've already done resarch and couldn't find anything at all to get this thing to work, if anyone could help me out I would be eternally grateful.

There are two versions of the driver available on the Internet and on the Creative site. The newer one I believe however is just an upgrade version, not the full installation but I could be mistaken. I have a copy of the original instrallation CD that came with the PD1110 (not PD1100) so if you want to PM me I can set up an image somewhere for you to grab. Be advised however that this is the software I have been unable to uninstall so you may experience problems.

HELP with Kernel Task PLEASE slow MB air

Hello all,
I am new to MAC and have been using my 4GB air for 6 months now with no issues, all good.
Im not sure why but my memory reader thing i downloaded is always red and low and see a kernel task running? i have noticed slow systems recently which is not good.
Would anyone be so kind as to help a newbee fix this? i have ran a few reports from the activity monitor (spin dump and diagnostics) but have no clue what now

Serious? Man , i have only just got it back! its had a new logic board fitted and also a new led display board and its only 5 months old!
I really don't want to take this back if its something simple, but if you guys think something is not right then i will.
issues are intermit freezing when just surfing the net ( hard reset needed )

Help with Microsoft Outlook 2011 on Macbook Air with Lion...?

I have a macbook air running Lion 10.7.3, and I use Microsoft Outlook 2011.
I have several accounts within Outlook and experience issue with one of them.
It is an imap account and I am unable to select the folders I wish for storing Draft mail or sent mail or junk mail or deleted mails... I am unable to move email from inbox into other folders (which are all subfolders of this inbox). The folder I was referring to for draft etc... are also subfolders of my inbox.
All of this works perfectly on my iMac which runs 10.6.8.

i got a used webcam i just got it now without its cd

Need Help with a webcam question

alright not sure this is the right section to be posting this. Does anyone know if i can turn a sony webbie camcorder into a webcam on a mac? I know that you can under windows but i'm not sure about a mac and everyone i've called and talked to (sony support) doesn't know. Thanks in advanced!

If you have skype or another program that can use a webcam besides photobooth, then open it and plug it in. If it does not appear, then you are going to need a driver for OS X for it. And if Sony does not know, then you may need to look for a third party one, if one exists.

New User Needs Help with Linux OBIEE Install via Terminal

Hi All - I'm installing Linux OBIEE. I'm on a Mac and thus can't use the GUI install option. I've unzipped the tar and now am stuck. Where do I need to be on my server (I know not root) and what command do I use to actually install OBIEE. I've tried setup.sh but it's not working properly and thus I am assuming I'm doing something incorrectly.

I can use my mac for installs but prefer to use a VNC Server session on the Linux box and a VNC Client on the mac to do remote installs as it survives network bumps.
If you want to use your mac as an XServer to do the install you have to have X11 installed (have a look at http://developer.apple.com/Darwin/runningX11.html)

Help with MSI GTX590 support

Dear All,please sugeest me ,i am not able to know what to do in my situation,,,
i bought msigtx590 videi card last september,in India,the card is replaced 4 times in the whole year and still has issues.lastly i bought a new i7 3rd generation with intel original z77 board and sad to say the card being under warranty was replaced and is not running even on my new PC.my system works great on on board graphics of intel hd 4000 but the moment i add my gtx card,it goes into restart mode.iAm extremely dissappointed by the service provided by DIGICARE,they are just not having facilities even to test a high end graphics card.I am a physically Handicapped person having leg problem and it is not possible for me to run every time to the service centre.Is there any way i can contact MSI so thar this matter be looked into by them personnaly.
Or else i will have no option but to go for Consumer court.Also in India it is not so cheap to file a case.
lastly but the least i expected from the dgcare centre manager was he gave me his personal hand phone nos and the mobile phone is switched off all the time.I ask MSI users what should i do since i am mentally harrassed by this Nvidia card i bought from MSI,my dealer says to ask DGcare for a credit note but they are only replacing the card and and every time i use i get a new trouble.i am enclosing with all the correspondence i have done with dg care service centre in lamington road.since i am not being able to attach image i am submitting the serial nos of the cards i have recd in replacement.callid-clg151301197,replacement no.0324511062858

If you want technical assistance follow badboy2k's advice and check your psu for matching the (very high) power requirements of a GTX590. Most likely that is the problem if you already had four cards.
