Help with Maps! (not locating position)

I've been having problems with the Maps app correctly locating where I am. It's been going on for a few months, but I plan on traveling soon and the use of the Maps app would be a huge advantage. When I press the cross-hair button in the bottom left corner, a large circle pops up, pulsates, then locks in on around a 10 mile radius. Normally, the dot in the middle of the circle is off my actual location by around 15 miles.

By moving home
The location is generated by a combination of GPS and cell tower sites and looking at that, you're quite rurallly located so the cell sites won't give a good location.
If you turn off wireless, and set the iPhone on a table and leave it for 5 minutes to lock on without the cell towers being accessible, then the GPS should work on its own and narrow down much more closely but of course, the maps won't load.
It also matters of you are indoors so if you cannot get a good GPS signal, it could be that you are just too far indoors to get an accurate signal.

I tried to rename the "Location Handler" from "pls" to "d", works great, but it always appends my Default DAD User to the URL.
And I tried to map my PL/SQL Handler to "/" and create a DAD User called "d" and set it to default. Didn't worked...
Any help is appreciated....

rewrite engine (mod_rewrite).

Note that the dev machine is x64 Win7.
I have not tried deploying this to staging since the issue started as I'm a bit nervous of touching the staging/live environment until this is solved.
Removing the PlatformTarget element from the project file has no effect
Removing the msshrtmi.dll file from the bin directory of the website project ends up with

I have used Git to revert to the last working build to no effect (But I don't have the obj/bin folders in GIT), but it has atleast reset the project files etc.
If I return msshrtmi.dll to the bin folder and switch the model and website projects to x64 there is no change
If I switch both to x86 then I get an error Could not load file or assembly 'BekoModel2011' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.
which is the model project - presumably because to run on my x64 machine I need the 64bit version?
I really need to be able to debug and then publish some changes ASAP.

Is it true that you're using IIS to host the application? Could you check whether the process is x64 or x86 one via task manager or config in IIS manager?

Help with DW & FW8 nav position in vertical centred page

I have a FW8 CSS navbar which is contained within a wrapper
div for a horizontally and vertically centred page (table layout).
Works ok in Firefox and looks ok in IE but when IE browser is
resized the navbar isn't staying in place. I've changed the
position elements but can't get the combination right. Can anyone
help please?

Need Help! "Could not locate the resource file in the Configuration folder."

I had just purchased and installed Adobe Crerative Design Suite last night. Every program works except Dreamweaver, which gives me the error message:"Could not locate the resource file in the Configuration folder. This File is required to run Dreamweaver. Please reinstall the application". I am suspicious because the was a previous version of Dreamweaver on the computer before this installation, but I unistalled it. I do not understand why I get this message. Is there a file somewhere that is missing or at faut. How can I remedy this? Thanks

Your posted resources worked for me. Thank you! After many attempts (to include Adobe's overseas call canter) to resolve the same installation and run errors, I used your suggested steps and I finally have a clean and running install. I did have to take a few extra steps;
First I downloaded both Cleaning scripts. For CS4 & CS3.
Next I downloaded Windows installer/cleaner. I have Windows Vista Home Premium and that is a required installed program to run Adobe's cleaning script.
Once I was sure I had all the programs/scripts I needed (per your instructions and the instructions found on the Cleaning scripts site) I disconnected my computer from the Internet.
Then I disabled all running programs especially all Anti-virus and firewall programs and any others that have calls of any kind: i.e. Boinc (Seti), Skype, email programs (Windows Live Mail), etc.
Next I uninstalled all CS4 products and even though I was told that Macromedia Studio MX 2004 can stay installed (read that on one site and the overseas Tech also reinforced that information) I uninstalled MX 2004.
I then rebooted and installed the Windows installer/cleaner program and ran the Adobe CS4 cleaner script twice.
After another reboot I installed Dreamweaver CS4 first, rebooted (can't reboot enough with Windows!) and, yes you guessed it, rebooted.
I then attempted to open Dreamweaver CS4 and for the first time it ran without the error!
I then installed Adobe Ps CS4 and rebooted and that work for the first time as well.
I can't say for sure if Macromedia Studio MX 2004 caused the install errors on the Adobe products but without it and ALL that uninstalling and rebooting and running cleaning scripts and installing and rebooting, Adobe finally felt my computer was clean enough to call it home and work.
Thank you again for your information and I suggest if anyone else finds their way here that they follow your instructions to the letter. Takes a long time but a proper and clean install will be the result.

[Urgent] Help with maps...

A few quick questions.
* Is there a way to set up my maps so that it doesn't use the gps until i want it to?
* I am trying to search for Tullamarine Airport, Melbourne. I type it in the search but nothing happens, what am i doing wrong?
* Does the new iPhone(3g) use similar location features as the 2g model or is it only gps.

1) I am not sure if there is a way to turn off gps location as soon as you goto maps. At times, mine does not locate me immediately, until I press locate me
2) Try searching "airport melbourne" and when and if a red pin drops, hopefully it will be what you are looking for and your problem will be solved.
3) Yes the iPhone 3G uses what is called "location services" to locate you which incorporates an active wifi connection (if available), cell tower triangulation, and lastly, gps to locate you in the most efficient manner.

There are plenty of threads about boot-time optimisation, and a wiki page also. Please search/read before asking.
Also, as you clearly intend to mess around with system-critical stuff like the kernel and its modules, I'd strongly recommend learning about it first, rather than just asking for a list of modules to remove.

I've had the iphone for a few weeks and haven't had much to time to figure it out. I'm not sure I understand what locate me button is or where to find it? Sorry, I've looked all over my phone, can someone help me out? I did insert my home address when I activated it. If I'm away on vacation how do I use the locate me button and where do I find it?

In the maps application (with 1.1.3 or later), the locate me button is in the lower left corner. It triangulates your position form signals from cell towers and Wi-Fi hotspots. It is not perfect but works fairly well. I have had it not find me at all to locate my intersection. It varies but turn with Wi-Fi on you don't even have to be connected.

Help with multiple layers moving position

Hi I am new to After effects so apologies if this is a daft question.
I have a map as my main layer and I have created a text layer.I want to animate the position of the map which can easily be done.However all other layers move with the map layer.So if I move across the map all other layers moves aswell.When I want them to stay in a fixed position
I would be grateful for any help

We can't know anything without knowing the structure of your project, what you animate exactly and so on. Layers don't automatically move in unison, that would only happen if they are pre-composed, parented or linked with expressions or your footage is a flattened file in the first place. Conversely, moving the camera in a 3D scene naturalyl would make all 3D layers respond to that camera, but not 2D layers. anyway, we realyl can't know what's going on without more info. Screenshots of the timeleine might tell a lot....

Processing Binary files with Mapping NOT (always) possible ??

Hello All,
I need your help solving this strange behaviour of XI.
I am developing a (image)file to (image)file interface with a simple mapping but XI is giving unpredictable results.
Processing the same inputfile e.g. 10 times after each other: results in 6 times OK and 4 times errormessage in SXMB_MONI. After restarting the 4 errormessages sometimes 1 or 2 msg are suddenly processed fine ??!!
The given error is always: "Parsing an empty source. Root element expected!". But why are the
other 6 messages are processed OK ? Why not all the 10 messages returns with error ??
My scenario is :
1) File FTP Sender: pick up image-files (.gif) from FTP-server (30.000 per day)
2) XI mapping: A) via Java program convert file into Base64, otherwise no mapping is possible at all
B) via UDF fill few outputfields only using the inputfilename. There is no need to go "inside" the
inputfile; just get the filename using Dynamic Configuration.
3) File FTP Sender: After message processing store the inputfile on the SAP filer in a particular
directory derived from the filename. Creating the directory and moving the file is done by an OS script in the sender file adapter.
4) XI Receiver HTTP: after succesfull processing the payload is filled with the correct fields.
The cause of error is (sometimes) using the DynamicConfiguration in the UDF, but a few fields must be filled using the inputfilename.
Has someone experienced this before or an other solution/idea to make this scenario stable and robust ??

Jack,
I may not have understood your scenario in full, however, an alternate solution could be to write a custom XI module and attach it to the file adapter. You could access the file name inside the module as well(See SAP Note 819761).
You should get a lot of articles/blogs in SDN on custom XI module creation and deployment to the server via NWDS. Give a thought on these lines as well.
Are you using any third party APIs to base64 encode your files, If so i beleive you will have to include them in the librarries in NWDS and deploy them to the XI server.

Need help with mapping( UDF)

Hi,
I had a mapping requirement where i need to transfer data with double quotes
suppose data is
sap-labs
i need to send as "sap-labs".
The main problem is when ever there is '-'(it can be any where in the string) I need to modify as above, otherwise data can be sent directly.
I know how to do this requirement using Standard Functions.But, I am trying to use UDF so try to help me out with the code.
and also what i have to import for this UDF. and why i have to import them?

Note: - quote ("), apostrophe ('), ampersand (&), less than (<), greater than (>) are special characters in XML. They should not be present in data. [Link1|http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-xml/] [Link2|Re: Special Character Handling (&) in the payload content in PI 7.1]
When you writing Java code to insert these special characters, you should use escape scequence characters.
Test it for your self, in graphical mapping, use 'concat' function and type Delimiter String as ". Then check output XML, it will contain &quot ;.
If you have to replace sap-labs with "sap-labs" for many element, I recomand you to use Java Mapping instead of UDF's for every field.

Help with mapping a particular process

I have 3 tables in this mapping process.
a. I have a dimension table which consists of customer information.
b. The 2nd table is a dimension table which is customer address information. This table is a child to customer information table.
c. The last table is a fact table.
The structure for the following tables are:
a. Customer Key, Customer_ID, Customer Name (Customer Key is created when this table is loaded from stage)
b. Customer Key, Pref_ind, Address1, City, State, Country, Zip and Location Key (it gets populated from the location table based on State, Country and Zip). The address information is populated from the stage. There is a lookup for customer key based on customer_id.
c. Customer Key, Location Key, Sales Amount
I need to update location_key in the fact table based on the key present in customer address table and pref_ind = 'Y'
I have a key lookup transformation for ID in the fact table and get the customer_key from customer table. The other columns are loaded for this fact table. I need to update Location Key in the same mapping. I am taking the customer key from customer transformation mapping to another lookup which looks up the customer address view(This view is an SQL with filter condition) and joins customer_key in the lookup to customer_key in customer_address table.
I cannot do this mapping because the tool generates an error stating that there are 2 different data sources

1. Check the new Kimball Design Tip #95 per your "split customer" model. You may have reasons for the split dim, but in general I recommend that you keep all customer data together in one dimension. If you can combine the two dims, you will (probably) eliminate the second lookup and your issue.
2. Your description is not clear, but look at your mappings. Are any data paths "sidestepping" the lookup customer_key to address customer_key join?

Help with Maps and bookmarks

I want to use Maps while I read travel books, marking each city I read about it with a pin bookmarked with a short descriptive phrase. I'd like to then have several cities marked, each with my bookmark name. But I can't seem to do this. I bookmark a pin, using a descriptive phrase as its name. After the bookmarked pin is saved, I can see my descriptive phrase by holding my finger on that pin.
But it seems that after I bookmark a second pin, I can no longer see the first pin's bookmark name by holding my finger on it; its name has reverted to just the city name. And it seems that I can only have two pins displayed at once -- pins seem to disappear after I access another bookmark.
I can't figure out the relationship between pins and bookmarks.
I have a feeling I'm stretching this app to try to do something it's not really meant for. Any thoughts? Is there another app that does what I'm trying to do? I guess I need an "atlas" app more than a "maps" app. Thanks.

Muse can not and does not utilise or have access to all that BC is. It does not give you access to the layouts and things like eCommerce and Web apps in the full ability sense. You can build interactive maps with the google API, web apps as the source of data, using the address lat and long or geo location ability etc But its not something you can do really Muse on its own.

Help with "Unknown Device - Location 65535 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus)" Please?

So I recently purchased a T400 2764CTO and I downgraded it from Vista Home to XP SP3. I have been following advices from the forums on finding all the "(?) Other Devices" that needed to be installed. However, I am still stuck on the one that is posted as "Location 65535 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus)"
I have SP3 so I believe I have the KB888111 installed.
I re-downloaded 6ea111ww.exe and installed it.
I tried following http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/Conexant-Audio-Driver-for-Vista-4-92-5-and-... from KBAM's advice.
So I'm still not sure if I missed a download or something or did something wrong. Can anyone help?
Oh, I'm not sure if this is related, but my computer won't shut down unless I manually shut it off by holding the power button. I am assuming (with lack of computer knowledge, but with some little research) that it might be these missing devices that are needed to install. So yeah, thanks!

Regarding your Conexant driver issue (v3.64.7.00, for XP)...
Saw your post and wanted to contribute.
When you say you "downgraded" from Vista Home to XP/SP3, I gather you mean you installed Win XP "clean," as opposed to configuring the 2764-CTO for purchase with the factory Win XP "downgrade" image.
I say this because the factory Win XP image (which now ships as SP3) will load with the basic devices properly installed. (Still, a number of drivers will not be up to date and certain optional services require user action.)
Also, you report the machine was originally a Vista Home system. As Lenovo's ordering system does not seem to allow substitution of Win XP for Vista Home, this pretty much confirms that you're installing XP from scratch. Indeed, while this would account for "missing" devices, it also facilitates your downloading current drivers at this time. All good.
OK, let's start with Herik's point.
Win XP/SP3 actually does include KB888111, so this prereq should not be an issue. Also, while Herik provides the registry key that can toggle a system's behavior between SP2 and SP3 (for purposes of Hotfix/Update installs, reporting to QFECheck and the CatRoot2 database, and running certain apps, etc.), folks should know that some MSFT packages can be troublesome if the "spoofed" registry key is used to force installation to an unintended SP level. (This behavior is a complex subject that has to do with dependencies--so generally, proceed with caution.) Nonetheless, forcing a new KB888111 install may not be a problem in this regard.
While overshou's post correctly observes that you have not installed the Conexant modem driver (this functionality is embedded in the same chipset as the audio features), it should not be required before installing the audio driver. Still, go ahead and install the modem (which will create a separate entry in Device Manager).
Your report and screen cap suggest that your Conexant installation is incomplete (and thus, confused). It's best to start fresh to get it right.
Incidentally, unlike the previous release, there are no installer-package problems with v3.64.7.00 for Win XP.
Follow the steps in this post, observing especially the procedures that ensure a clean install.
