Need help with Boot Camp and Win 7

I have iMac 27" (iMac11,1) 2.8 GHz, quad core, 8MB of L3, 8GB of Memory, Boot ROM Version IM111.0034.B02 and SMC Version 1.54f36 and can't get this machine to run Windows 7 using Boot Camp. I have successfully loaded Win 7 but when it claims to be starting I only get a black screen after initial start up.
I have checked and rechecked my software updates and have read and reread the instructions, however, I can't update my Boot Camp to 3.1 (my machine says i'm running 3.0.4) and I need 3.1 but can't load 3.1 because it is an exe file that has to be loaded into Windows after I load Windows but can't open Windows because I can't load Boot Camp 3.1. That's my excuse anyway, so I'm missing something I just can't figure out what it is....this is where you come in!

I'm having a difficult time with a conditional display and validation I'm hoping someone can help with.
Requirements:
When the Start Date (Datepicker) and/or End Date (Datepicker) change then display the Change Reason (Select List) and Change Description (Textbox)
If the page is saved without entering a Change Reason display a validation error message that the Change Reason cannot be empty (NULL)
What I've tried

I've also created a Dynamic Action with similar settings for the P51_END_DATE.
I created a Validation for the P51_CHANGE_REASON as Function Returning Error Text:

The Issue
I tried to create another Dynamic Action to hide the P51_CHANGE_REASON and P51_CHANGE_DESC fields on page load, but when either of the date fields are changed and the validation is fired the P51_CHANGE_REASON and P51_CHANGE_DESC are hidden again.
There are two buttons to submit the page: 'SAVE' will submit the page and stay on the page and 'SAVE_CHANGES' will submit the page and branch to the previous page (which is a report with EDIT buttons to edit the record).
I can't get the page load Dynamic Action to NOT fire when the validation is fired.
I hope this is clear and if not what information can I provide?

The problem I'm having is that if no Change Reason is entered and the page is saved thereby firing the validation the Change Reason and Change Description fields are hidden again (because of the On-Load Dynamic Action to hide them). So now the user can't put in a Change Reason...unless they change one of the date fields again which isn't going to be accepted.
Is there a way to determine if a validation error was fired and be able to use that on the On-Load Dynamic Action to hide the two fields? Something like...If the validation fired then don't run?
Please let me know if I'm still confusing you.

Help with intricate search and results display

I am looking for help with a problem I have, my knowledge on Numbers is limited, I have learnt a lot by trial and error but I do not know where to start on this problem.
What I am trying to do is display result from sheet 1 onto sheet 2 when I enter the letters of the REFERENCE into cell C3. Below is an example of the result I am tring to achieve -

I have searched for AB by entering it in cell B3 on Sheet 2, an auotmatic search has been carried out on Sheet 1 and all the columns have been brought into sheet 2 with the corresponding data and placed under the COLUMN HEADERS. I have over 4000 lines on Sheet 1, although the most result that will ever be pulled through will be 150.
When the data is pulled in I will need to do other calculation in the COLUMNS F, G and H so the data need to only be mapped to COLUMNS A to E.
Also I want to be able to use this spreadsheet on my iPad.
Has anybody got an idea/solution that will help.

We've had a recent report of troubles with large tables in the iOS version of Numbers, so you may want to consider ways to accomplish your goals without the full 4000-row set of data.
I re-read the problem statement in your original post and see that I should have known that you were needing a solution for both platforms. But, I'm still not clear on what part you have figured out and what part you still need help with. We often refer to your second table as a "Breakout Table". There are different ways to program it. My favorite is to add a column to the main table that identifies rows that meet the transfer criteria and assigns them a serial number to help determine where they should go in the second table.
Here's an example:
In the new column on the right edge of the table T1, the expression is:
=IF(ISERROR(FIND(T2 :: $A$1, A)), "", COUNT($F$1:F1))
Note that the first cell in the Aux column is seeded with a zero.
The expression in the body cells of the second table, T2, is:
=INDEX(T1, MATCH(ROW()-1, T1 :: $F, 0), COLUMN())
Note that the search term is to be entered into Cell A1 of table T2.

Can you help with D-link and two airport express stations

I currently run a Dlink 604 wireless and 1 Airport express for iTunes in my front room.
A Express is also linked to the Dlink via a cable.
All works fine - G4 dual running OS x 10.3.9
I would like help with a couple of things please:-
1. I have no current security on my Express, so anybody can use the net connection through it. How do I change this and still be able to use my tower and laptop?
2. I have a second Express from work that I would like to use upstairs. It does work but requires me to swap the network to use it for iTunes and then I have no internet.
It was formatted at work so has different ip numbers etc.
Can I make this station join my exisitng network?
As my lap top is wireless will I be able to surf through it upstairs?

1. You need to open the Express's configuration in Airport Admin Utility and change the Wireless Security settings to WEP or, preferably, WPA or WPA2. When you attempt to connect to the network from your computers, you will be prompted for the password.
2. The easiest thing to do is to hard reset the second Express and then use the Airport Setup Assistant to configure the second Express to join and extend the first Express's network. To do a hard reset, hold down the reset button until the LED starts flashing rapidly.
BTW, I know it can work because I have the exact same setup (D-Link DI-604 and two Expresses in an extended wireless network).

Help with EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) and KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE

Never had any problems at all with my MacBook (3.1, Intel Core2Duo, 2.2 GHz, 4 GB, 10.5.8) - until three days ago. Now Indesign (Creative Suite 1) crashes immediately when I try to start the programme. I know that it's an old version, but it has always worked fine – until now. Do I really have to upgrade Indesign (quite expensive – and Photoshop etc still works fine)? I did Apple's "security update" the same day the problem started, is there a connection...?
Could someone please "translate" this for me? Or at least give me a hint what I shall do...

I've been experiencing kernal panics for a year or two, usually while using Excel but once with Word. The usual manner for the problem to occur is that the keyboard stops functioning. I have to click out of Excel into any other app or the Finder and click back in to restore keyboard function. Sometimes however, the whole system will go into what I believe is kernal panic. The screens go to blue and the start up screen appears. This has occurred through the last 2 or 3 versions of the Mac OS and through several versions and updates of MS Office. I've reinstalled Office a few times and if my memory is correct, it's happened on 2 different Macs. I've experimented with Test Accounts and talked with MS support as well as Apple support. Usually the support people of both companies point to the other but recently I found posts that indicate the problem is with the OS. I've attached several crash logs and my system profile. I'm looking for help please.

Help with Oct PDK and 9iAS 9.0.2

I noticed I can already run many of the JSP samples by clicking on the demonstration tab on the default page port 7779. http://myhost.com:7779
I want to run the URL and Web Service portlets descirbed in the PDK.
What are the minimal changes I need to make to my system? Win2000. I've completed the following:
1. In jserv.properties I verified wrapper.classpath=c:\oracle\jpdk\lib\provider.jar
2. In jserv.properties, I verified the following following line wrapper.classpath=c:\oracle\jpdk\lib\samples.jar
3. In the zone.properties file under the Servlet Aliases section, I added the alias that points to the Provider Adapter: servlet.sample.code=oracle.portal.provider.v1.http.HttpProvider
4. In the zone.properties file, under the Aliased Servlet Init Parameters section, I added the initial arguments needed by the sample. servlet.sample.initArgs=provider_root=c:\oracle\jpdk\providers\sample, sessiontimeout=1800000, debuglevel=1
5. I created a \jpdk directory under the default JSP directory for my listener: c:\oracle\9iasEE\Apache\Apache\htdocs\jpdk
6. I copied all the folders beneath the c:\oracle\jpdk\htdocs directory to the above NEW directory.
7. I modify c:\oracle\jpdk\providers\sample\provider.xml to point to the JSP directories containing the Web Provider Samples.
I edited the following entry which is located at the top of the provider.xml:

I can pull http://myserver.mydomain.com:7779 and run the JSP examples from the Demo Tab.
What am I doing wrong?

This has been answered in a previous thread. Please see 'How to reconfigure a new JPDK directory' a few pages back. He also provides you some nice links to the PDK you need to download.

It seems that you are trying to deploy JPDKv2 portlets on Apache which is fundamentally wrong. Portlets developed using JPDKv1 are deployed on Apache
while those developed using JPDKv2 are deployed on OC4J.
You can dowload the latest JPDKv2 from
http://otn.oracle.com/software/htdocs/devlic.html?http://download.oracle.com/otn/other/PDK.zip The downloaded pdk.zip contains full details of deploying portlets developed using JPDKv2.
If you want to leverage the Apache infrastructure, you will need to make ur Portlet JPDKv1 compatible & then deploy it
on Apache. You can visit

Help with "gapless plaayback " and "syncing" problems

ok....i just restored my ipod to factory settings after it would restart at random intervals. After everything was erased, it loaded only my playlists, and then went on a "analyzing gapless playback Info" for a bit, then upload 2 or 3 more songs, then pop up an error message saying that "SONG "a" COULD NOT BE IMPORTED TO CRUCHIES IP" and would not load anymore songs. then, it would start cutting songs in half to different tracks..i only have 325 out of 3000 and i am angry.i need help with this... i dont want to have to re-install itunes, because i figure it would erase my perchases fron the itunes store.?/?/?/? or do i not haave a choice? has anyone else had this problem??? please give any info you can.

I bought 2 kits of the Corsair value ram (see sig for part number), 512 mg sticks, total 4 sticks. When you say just put 2 matching ones in, I think I did that. I tried 2 sticks at a time, switching them out so I'm pretty sure I tried all combinations of them and the pc wouldn't boot using 800fsb and 667 ram speed. It will boot and run ok at 667 FSB and 400 ram speed, because I've been using it like that since about the 2nd week of Nov. Will try again to just boot using 2 mem modules at full FSB/Mem speed but I know I've tried that before and the pc would lock. Not for sure what you meant by 'matching' as all 4 are the same brand/model etc.
As for the EIT? or whatever it was, I don't recall clicking that anywhere , is that a BIOS option? I'll check when I get home but I'm not recalling choosing that option. Google showed that to be some some of processor power saving option or something.

Need help with Automating Printer and LPR installation

I work for someone who has a need for automating the print installation of LPR print port to mac laptops. Obviously this will need to cover anything OS X 10.3 and above. All of this needs to be done command line via a batch file of sorts.
I am a windows and Linux guy, however I just bought a Mac and starting to like the new Leopard OS and the capabilities of boot camp.
What I need:
1) how to install LPR port to the laptop
2) installing a printer from a some sort of cab file with correct port and drivers. (in windows we use print migrator, however the cab files we use for windows will obviously not work with different port types and drivers)
3) finally some clean up type script that will clean up any temp files I had to create or such.
I kind of need this soon so if anyone knows how or could point me in the right direction. It would be greatly appreciated.

If you force restart the computer on the freeze up, or force quit the printer adding window, does the printer appear in the print and scan system preference? In other words, did the printer successfully install? (is it possible that the setup part of the install failed, but the actual install worked?)
If so, you might be able to set the configurations yourself.
Open up the print and scan system preference. Double click on the printer.
When the printer queue window opens up, you should be able to click on the printer setup button.
Go through all the tabs and set things up the way you like.

Help with this vi and top level vi's

Hi, need a bit of help with this vi below. It consists of field point inputs. And also consists of 2 while loops, the first while loop basically displays the raw data, the second loop eventually will display processed data, but this will only take place when told to start by the push button connected to the case loop. the problem is that when i start the second loop and then go to stop it it keeps on running even when the case loop is false, any help greatly appreciated(also had help with a labview engineer, but could not solve it).
The other way about going around this is to separate the 2 loops into separate vis. Is it possible to use the first loop as the top level vi and if i press a button on the toplevel front
panel vi, the front panel of the second loop program pops up. Any info on this greatly appreciated.

I have created another update to your example showing how you can have the xy graph popup in another window. This time it is in a library as there are now 2 VIs. Again i cant test it as i dont have Fieldpoint, but *crosses fingers* it should work. Basically i have moved the inner while loop into it's own VI, linked it to the controls feeding it, and placed it into the main case structure. This subVI has also had it's properties changed so that it opens when called and closes afterwards, so you do not need to open it manually when you start.
As to what i use for my interface, i guess you mean interface with instruments?...Well i use drivers. And if i dont have drivers, i write them. To be honest, i dont really know what Fieldpoint does, so mayb
e you can enlighten me there..
