Help with Photomerge Panorama

Hello,
I can't find what i'm looking for in the discuission so I post here.
My problem is I want to have an image stitching software that is not expensive and easy to use.
I try to do it in Photoshop Elements 12 (PSE12) as trial software.
As I can see, the photomerge in PSE12 tend to find the overlap between images...
Unfortunately when it can't, it makes the image to overlap each other... which makes it more difficult to arrange pictures.
I like the old style in photoshop CS2 where you can do the stitching manually and save tile position as PMG (photomerge) file.
Can I do this also with PSE12?
What I mean is... can I teach PSE12 the correct position of image for stitching?
Also can I save the Photomerge project so I could revisit in case there is problem with stitch results which is not noticed earlier?
By the way, our images are taken from microscope with almost fixed overlap (repeatable with just few microns of error).
Edit: (additional)
I saw this help document: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/using/stitching-together-panoramas.html
I says there is an option of "interactive layout":
"Interactive LayoutChoose this option to open the source images in a dialog box and position them manually.'
I think maybe this is what I need... but it is not available in PSE12, is it?

I think i saw the link about interactive layout missing:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/6011038
So maybe i should try lower version of PSE... i hope it is available.
To mytaxsite:
Thanks for your reply... maybe the link you gave is referenced to another PSE version...
About the suggested blank canvas... maybe I could try... but this involves many images which is hard to do when switching between windows.... but i'll give it a shot.

  • Need help with PhotoMerge Panorama

Can someone help me with PhotoMerge Panorama in PE 13? I upgraded from version 6 and now cannot adjoin separate images into one image. Every time I try I get this message: "Panorama could not be created as some images could not be automatically aligned". In version 6 it would allow me to position the files together manually if the program couldn't figure how to do it automatically, but that feature doesn't seem to be available in version 13. Thanks for any help.

  • Help with Photomerge and how to do suggested solutions

I am using Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP and am having a problem with Photomerge working very slow, not working at all, and not being able to handle more than 2 photos (sometimes it won't even do 2 that have 25% overlap). I found these solutions in a previous thread.
Solution 2: Increase the amount of scratch disk space available to Photomerge.
Solution 3: Decrease the size of the source files.
Solution 4: Reduce the amount of RAM allocated to Photoshop in the Memory & Image Cache Preference to approximately 40-50% and retry.
Can someone tell me if these solutions are correct? If so, how can I do these? If not, what can I try? If I could get detailed instructions (I don't know anything about computers) that would be the best. Thanks in advance for any help!

I have often scanned LP album covers in segments, at 600 ppi, and used Photomerge to meld them together. That results in images that are roughly 7200x7200 pixels, or 50 megapixels. Photomerge is pretty quick, given the size of the files.
But yeah, you may need to reduce the resolution of the files you are scanning. You may be scanning at 1200 ppi or higher. For text, I don't think I'd go much below 600 ppi if you want a really clear reproduction, and scan in grayscale or RGB, not the "text" mode, which is 1-bit bitmap and will not likely work well with Photomerge. Turn all descreening or sharpening options off in the scanning software; likewise, turn off all exposure wizards and expose all images at the base manual settings (don't use the scanner software's curves, etc.). You will take care of the exposure, sharpening, descreening, etc. in PS once you have scanned and merged.

  • Error with Photomerge - Panorama in PS CC

Error while doing Photomerge -> Panorama in Photoshop CC.  I get the following message:  "Error 8800:  General Photoshop Error occurred.  This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop."

Alright, links to DxDiag and screenshots of my cache settings, memory and multiprocessing settings, and my drives that I have for my PC are linked down below. My 250gb SSD includes my OS, all my programs, and my cache for After Effects. My mechanical hard drive includes all my data, so videos, pictures, documents, music, projects, and all my PC games. I hope this helps. Thanks again.

  • PROBLEM WITH PHOTOMERGE PANORAMA IN PSE 12

whenever I try to use photomerge  panorama in photoshop elements , i get an error message :Error 48: File or folder does not exist. line :41. i have been trying for few days after retsarting my laptop and also updating the PSE 12

This means that the photomerege function is having difficulty reading the required scripts to run. Have you made any changes to PSE or installed any add-on's that may have affected the presets?
I think the best thing to do is to uninstall Elements and then re-install again.

  • Need Help with Photomerge Group Shot

I'm trying to photomerge a group shot and having trouble with it.  The person I'm trying to cut out of the source photo gets plopped into the middle of the final photo and I can't line her up with in final shot.  Is there a way I can relocate the section that gets pasted into the final photo?   I'm also have trouble with aligning the photo--how do you know what points to select in the fist and second photo?  I've been playing with it, but the photos get terribly distorted.
Appreciate any help.  I was expecting Photoshop Elements 10 to make this easy, and so far, it hasn't impressed me.
    Thanks,
       Terri

    OK, here we go:
Make a selection (in the main image) of the area you want to be replaced:
Open your other image, select the head to use, and copy it to the Clipboard.  (I simply used another one of the heads in this photo.)
Back in the main image, use Edit...Paste into Selection:
Change to the Move Tool and move the pasted-in image to where it looks best:
You already know what to do next with the Clone Tool.   (Probably have to use Layer...Flatten Image to get rid of all the selections and layers so the Clone Tool can do its work....)
    Ken
P.S.,  Looks like you did a real good job with the girl on the left.
P.P.S.,  The image is a bit too small for us to do precision work (but it's OK for this example).  Next time you can try something about 2 or 3 times larger and see if the forum software accepts it.

  • Need help with photomerge

cs4 - working from Bridge - I select 3-5 files and go to photomerge. I keep getting the message "photomerge needs at least two files selected" from photoshop. I'm going crazy. How can I get photoshop to see what bridge is telling it?

I have the same problem! with some other symtoms!
I get a series of errors depending on the circumstance:
When attempting to add open files using the "add open files" option, I  get a message stating that, "Documents must be saved before they can be  merged" and the queue remains blank.  After saving these files both as a  "save" and a "save as", I still get the same error message.
When attempting to add files using the "browse" option, I get a single  file showing up in the queue window, regardless of how many files I  attempt to add.  That file reads as this: tmp 00000001.  The "OK" button  remains grayed out after this single file has been added.
When attempting to add files to Photomerge via Bridge CS3, I get an  error message stating that, "More than one file must be added", for  Photomerge to work (multiple files are being attempted!).
I have wiped the preferences for Photoshop and then uninstalled followed  by a reinstall, and this did not fix the problem.  I have simply tried  dumping the preferences and reopening Photoshop, and this did not work  either.  I recently reloaded my OSX operating system software and when  this problem showed up, (not in any timeframe correlation with the OSX  reinstall), did an OSX update in attempts to fix the Photoshop problem,  and that did not work.  I have been at this crazy problem the majority  of my day here, and after searching the internet, cannot seem to find  anyone with a similar problem.  Any possible ideas or help?  Your time  is appreciated, and thank you in advance.

  • Photoshop CS3 - Help with Photomerge

I'm doing some work in a lab right now and I'm supposed to put together a large photomerge of a cell (about 220 pictures from an electron microscope). They're big pictures - about 2500 by 2500 each. The problem is that the computer can't handle that many pictures at once, so it crashes.
To avoid this, I made a lot of small photomerges (about 15 pictures each) and started putting them together to make larger photomerges. What happens is that there is a white background behind each of the smaller photomerges and when i put them together, portions of the cell are either faded or completely white. I saw the computer tech do it with CS2, but he's not here today, so I'm not sure about what the problem is. Any help?

Sorry, was looking on other photomerge threads and I forgot to write these -
    Model: Mac Pro
    Mac OS X - Version 10.5.2
    Memory - 16 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Free Hard Drive Space - 1770 Gigs? Two HD, one with 840, the other with 930, also an external hard drive with 900 Gigs
The pictures are 6.3 MB each, and there are 220 of them for this particular cell. There wasn't an error message, but the white interference is the problem. The system is new, but the computer tech showed me how to do it on his computer (with CS2) and it worked there.
    Thanks!

  • Photomerge panoramic won't open and gives "error 364" message

I shot my first panoramic set this morning and tried to load into the panoramic photomerge feature on PSE 6.0, but when I select that, it says "internal error: 364" and will not do anything. It gives me the "send error report" option and essentially locks up and freezes. I thought at first it was because of the raw to dng convesion so I made the images jpegs and tried that, but it does not appear to be the problem because I don't get to the point where I can load images. The first time I tried to select/load the images from the PSE 6.0 organizer and that failed. Then I open the PSE editor and tried to choose the photomerge pano option, expecting to be prompted to choose images, but I get the same error report. I have IBM laptop and run Windows XP. Any ideas?

Here is a link to another thread that mentions that some people have resolved this problem with Photomerge Panorama by uninstalling, cleaning up and reinstalling. Having anti-virus turned off during install activities is important. See the thread for more details.

    Jack Bush,
Since most people responding on these forums are other Adobe customers, we really don't have any info that directly helps to troubleshoot a message that references an internal error. So unless we have solved that problem on our system or someone else who has solved it then posts a description, we don't have any definitive answer.
For that error message when running PSE v7, you could contact Adobe Tech Support. If you do resolve the problem on your system, please do come back and post how it was solved. This will help other forum participants.

  • PSE 8 - Photomerge Panorama not working?

Trial version (is Panorama disabled in trial?), XP, default preferences
File->New->Photomerge Panorama and select either 2 open files or 2 files off disk.    Tried Auto reposition, manual , and in both cases, the program thinks for a couple seconds and then shows me an empty file on screen (checkerboard) entitled Untitled_Panorama1.
Tried a series of different photos, and have done this before in PSE7 with no trouble, so this is puzzling.
    Is this a bug?

John, I want to add some other information for you concenring this problem with Photomerge Panorama in PSE 8 that you have been looking into, as I too get the error message you detailed in your earlier comments on this problem.  I tried your solution (saving for the web) and found that it did work but, of course, it is a pain having to do this workaround. Then, quite by chance I found that Photomerge Panorama was working correctly and so I tried several files, some of which had not worked before!
Tonight, the old problem returned and I have been able to replicate both the problem and the solution.  If I have the Organiser open (which I must) but not the Editor, then it works fine. If I then try to do another panorama with new files, then it usually throws up the error message and fails to work. Any further attempts with the image files (or previous ones that have worked) also fail, ending with the error message.  However, if I close the application completely, and then reopen it, the same files will work perfectly with Photomerge Panorama.
Maybe this throws some new light on the cause for you? (and hopefully Adobe if they read this posting).   Is it a memory problem?   (I have 1 GB of RAM)
    It is certainly very odd.
On another matter, but kind of memory/processor related, although I doubt if you will remember this, but last year when PSE 7 was announced but before it was available, I queried the processor spec moving up to requiring a 2GHz processor  (it was a huge leap in spec from previously required processors and also not a size much then available for PC Notebook users!
You kindly advised that you thought it was more a case of "sloppy marketing" which seemed to be borne out by some later advice that I received and sent you and others from Adobe Technical suppoort.  Recently, when I saw that PSE 8 required a 1.6 GHz or faster processor (the website spec sheet) I was pleased and thoughtful!  Today, my purchased copy of PSE8 arrived. (I have been using a free trial version). Guess what, on the box the processor specification is "2 GHz or faster"  So now we have either another case of "sloppy marketing" or perhaps, it DOES need 2 GHz and maybe this is the problem/part of the problem with Photomerge Panaroma not functioning correctly/consistently?
Maybe though, it IS just a bug and one that I really hope that Adobe can address and rectify AND thsat we don't have to wait until PSE 9.  That would be very, very poor.
How do you report bugs/possible bugs to Adobe or will you further report the issue, assuming that you can replicate what I have found with Photomerge Panorama?
Hope this posting is helpful to you and others experiencing this problem with PSE 8
    Kind regards

  • PSE 10 Photomerge-Panorama

    Hello,
my English is not. Maybe you can help me anyway. I've been working recently with PSE10.
I've uploaded 3 frames and wanted to
then edit with Photomerge Panorama. The result is shown in the screenshot.
Can anyone help me what should I do?

Before starting try making copy images at reduced size e.g. 1500 px x 1000 px
Try interactive and arrange images yourself.

  • Photomerge Panorama not initiating in PSE7

After reading many other threads on problems with Photomerge Panorama in PSE7 I wasn't able to find one that had the same problem with me.
When I add the selected pics to the Organizer and choose Photomerge Panorama, a new Editor window opens with the select pics shown along the bottom with an additional blank file called Untitled_Panorama1. The process then stops here. No error message pops up or anything.
I am running Windows 7 with 4 gb of ram. Any help would be appreciated!

There's nothing out of the ordinary about that image size, either.  I don't have PSE7 installed, and I didn't find any troubleshooting information about panoramas and PSE7 when I searched the Adobe website, so I can't offer any more advice.
I think you'll be impressed with that Microsoft program.
If you're thinking about purchasing PSE10, you might want to wait another month until the new version is released.

  • What is wrong with my panoramas after iOS 7 update??

I just upgraded my iPod touch 5 to iOS 7 yesterday and I'm having a ton of problems.
Literally EVERY animations lags a LOT.
    Safari constantly freezes.
    The camera lags a lot.
When I use my camera from the lock screen, the device crashes after a few minutes.
3D graphic games (for eg Real Racing 3) are very slow and laggy.
    And a hundred more.
But the main problem I'm here for is my panorama photos.
I used to use the panorama feature more than anyone  before iOS 7, but after the update, the camera is filled with these weird moving black lines
When I take panoramic pics, there are tones of these squiggly black lines (they're different then the ones aforementioned), and no matter how still I hold my camera, the stitching is extremely distorted and messed up. But the basic camera, square camera and vid camera are working perfectly fine. (Except you can sliiiiightly see the black lines in the regular photos, but they're not very obvious.
Also, the camera is very bright. I turned on every bulb, tube light and lamp in the room and the usual photos were perfect. But the panoramic camera is EXTREMELY dark. Like, you could hardly see anything with all the lights on.
I almost wish I could go back to iOS 6.
But seriously, I need help with the panorama thing.
Oh, and I've already tried resetting.

    Try the standard fixes
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>Safari and Clear Cookies, Data and History
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Elements 10 stops working when starting Photomerge - Panorama

I have selected two photos and then went to File, New, Photomerge-Panorama.  The program starts then I get a message that the program has stopped working and I should close it.  I have tried to start the Panorama from the Organizer and from the Editor with the same results.  I can use the Editor for other editing and it works normally.
The two photos were obtained from my scanner.  I scanned a large document and saved the scans as JPEG files.  I have done this previously and have made panoramas of other photo series and it has worked.
I have Windows 8.1.  I don't think I have tried to make panoramas since I went to Windows 8.1

I had the same problem with Photomerge panorama (PS Elements 9) on my new Windows 8.1 HP laptop.
I found a post over on a thread about CS5 talking about dual video graphics drivers. My laptop has both Intel and Nvidia chips and drivers, and after I disabled the Nvidia driver in Windows Device Manager, so that I use only the native Intel graphics, Photomerge Panorama comes up fine. My external big monitor looks crisper with the Nvidia graphics enabled, but I can re-enable that easily after I am done with Photomerge.

  • Why doesnt photomerge panorama show final image?

I load my panorama images with photomerge panorama, it works on them, aligns them, etc. but doesn't show final image.

It's really hard to tell without seeing the photos.
Is it possible you could post the the photos somewhere, so someone here might give it a shot?
