Help with playing my tracks on iTunes

i have recently changed my iphone and when i try to sync my music, most of my tracks show a ! beside them and wont let me play them - why is this happening?

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

well, either you have the 20gig "zen" or you have another product from the "zen" line. i'm going to guess that you have a zen micro anways. you would have to add all you tracks (or you can go by artist) and add them to the "to go playlist" once you get all your tracks added to the "to go playlist" go to the "now playing" screen and bring up the pop-up menu and click "save playlist as", or its worded like that, sorry but my zen micro is suffering from a firmware problem . once you have you playlist named you can bring up the pop-up mennu and select "play mode" and there should be a random play option in there. thats the only way i can think of to single out you audiobooks, best of luckMessage Edited by bufu3284 on 08-5-2005 07:58 AM

I'm sure the problem is sweat getting into the apple supplied headphone "remote." Basically even the smallest drop can slide down the wire and get into the unit.
Unfortunately I haven't found a solution other than to get a Belkin remote adapter and some sport headphones. This doesn't give you voice over, but you can still control the volume, skip, etc.
I've been doing this for a couple weeks now and it hasn't had a freak out since.

Need help with playing tracks

Haven't used my player in awhile and never did really learn how to use it well. I have some meditations I've loaded, to listen to e.g. before I go to sleep. I was getting other music playing when the meditation was finished. Think I finally figured out how to get the right track to repeat....BUT I'd really like to turn it off after the one track plays-automatically. Can I do this? Manual not much help! There might be times I'd want it to repeat, times want it to turn off, and times when I might want to switch to another track/mediation and go on. Help??? Thanks!

The Go List (like other playlists) is a list of locations where the files are. The Sansa sees the list, understands it's a list, and follows the list to play the files you want. Considering the sorely incompetent manual, how on earth do total newbies figure all this out? Why isn't the manual more comprehensive (not that you should know why but just wondering!!) Somewhere on here someone sugg using a cell phone charger. Tried mine, the plug looks the same size but will only go in part way and then the battery icon has a slash through it. Others said it's faster with an adapter. Also want to ask about updating the software......others on here recc some specific softward to download (have to look it up again) rather than the Sansa software (don't think it's available now); would doing that/updating the software help? and would there be more capabilities with it? Help - Cannot play music purchased from iTunes store

Hoping someone can help me. I cannot play any music I have purchased from the iTunes store on my Macbook Pro or iMac at home however I can play the tracks on my iMac at work. This occurred after I reinstalled Leopard on my main iMac at home. Here are the steps I have taken so far to try and resolve:
1 - Deauthorized all computers
2 - Reauthorized all computers
I recently copied the music library from my home iMac to the work iMac and laptop they are all the same files now, not different versions. Essentially I'm playing the same file on each machine and all machines are authorized.
If I select a purchased song at home or on my MacBook Pro, a window opens saying I am not authorized, blah blah blah. I input my details which I know are correct. The message tells me the authorization was successful but if I click on the song, the window opens again telling me I'm not authorized - ARRRGHHH!!
BUT the weird thing is, the files all play on my work iMac. This is the only device that hasn't changed recently - the home Mac is a new OS restore and the MacBook Pro is about 2 months old, but if I've authorized them I don't understand why they won't play.
Trying to contact iTunes support it impossible so I thought I'd see if anyone else has suffered a similar experience?

I have the SAME problem and it's driving me INSANE!! I contacted an iTunes person and she's trying to help me but it didn't really help much... The stupid authorization prompt won't stopp popping up and I'm about to throw my computer out the window... It will sync and everything, but before it's done it will say some of my songs weren't copied to my iPhone because I'm not authorized, even though I AM. It's highly depressing... I really want to fix this problem. I thought it was just my computer because if just recovered from a major virus that we fixed, but what you explained is Identical to my problem. HT1725 Problems with playing tunes downloaded form Itunes store.

I have downloaded some tunes from Itunes store. The download is completed, and I can't download it again. When I play the tunes in Itunes, they get aborted after short or longer period of playing. What can be the reason for this?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

Need help with my iphone syncing to itunes

I have recently got a new computer (no access to old one) downloaded itunes and bought about 35 songs now it won't let me sync them to my iphone without deleting everything else on the iphone around 3000 songs how can i stop this

I was thinking either one of a few things here. You may need to open the Music tab in the iPhone device window and select the music you want to sync over to the phone. Use this article to help with that if needed:

Script for slideshow of images in folder of playing now track in iTunes?

I am wondering how easy it would be to write a script that would create a slideshow of images in the album folder of the track currently playing in iTunes. Because iTunes doesn't support the display of multiple artwork images I am looking for another method (I have a lot of albums with multiple images).
I would like to be able to view the images fullscreen on a secondary monitor whilst still having the ability to use my main monitor for other purposes (i.e. the main monitor wouldn't be blacked out).
In addition to this the following features would be nice, but not essential:
1. the script to extract the length of the song playing and the number of images in the folder and from this work out how long to display one image so that each image is displayed once for an equal length of time.
2. to have some text with info on song - artist - album etc. below the images in white text on black background.
3. transitions between the slides
Would such a script be feasible, even if just to cover the basics?

This is what I have quickly whipped up. I did a little testing and found iPhoto is popping up a bunch of dialogs on importing duplicate images on the import. Perhaps there is a "synchronize" command I am missing or something ("import without force copy" doesn't seem to help) but the rest of the script works. I haven't worked in the looping for monitoring song change yet either. May be prettier with another stay open script which calls this one anyways.
I haven't done much with plist editing either. You can run the first set safely so long as iPhoto is closed, but changing length of slide while it is open through the plist is going to be quite risque. I can't find how to do it without plist or UI though. Anyways take a look and any outside help would be appreciated as well.

Need help with many devices and one itunes account!!

I recently purchased each of my kids an Ipod Touch. They all three are now using my Itunes account which has become a little bit of a problem. The biggest issue now is with iMessage. When a friend send a text message or tries to Facetime one of the kids, we all get the message. They are all using my itunes account user name and password, for apps, music, etc....
What's the best way to seperate the three devices so they aren't all getting the same text messages? Also, is it best to set up their own user accounts to sync their ipods with itunes?

If you want to use only one AppleID account for multiple devices but seperate imessage, you will have to use different email address to differentiate the device.
I would assume all your devices' imessage are setup under your AppleID email address.
First go to your kid Device's SETTINGS/MESSAGE/RECEIVE AT, Add another email address, type in email address of your kid(you will be asked to enter your Appleid password). Once done, an email from Apple will be sent to this new email address to verify. When your kid receive this email, click "Verify Now" link. The new email address now is ready for imessage.
Now go back to the same Device SETTINGS/MESSAGE/RECEIVE AT, go into your original email(your AppleID email) and tap "remove this email". This will prevent your own imessage to appear on this device.
Do the same for all other devices for other kids.
You don't need to change anything for your own device.
That mean everyone will have an indepedent imessage based on their own email address.

The problem with using multiple javascript frameworks on on page is that each framework modifies how javascript works and this leads to incompatibility problems between the scripts. The simplest way to fix this is only to use one framework, alternatively check the documentation for the frameworks as there is often a snippet of code that one can use to stop the framework from modifying the browsers native javascript interpreter.
You must include the snippet for each js framework.

How do i get my computer to be authorised so I can burn a cd and play the track in Itunes

In most process-control applications it is not about just avoiding lost measurement data. The most important is having a robust control-algoritm that reacts to a change of input-situation in a given time.
A non-responsive system is not a very reliable process-control solution.
The vi you mentioned are only around since the latest versions and the old method of polling controls still suits many applications (but that's another discussion).

HELP with Interactive Booklets purchased thru itunes

I have a 30 gb video ipod. A few of the albums I have purchased through itunes have an interactive booklet attached. When I sync my ipod with itunes, it says my ipod model can not support the interactive booklets. As a result I can't view them. Does anyone have an answer to why this is?????????? I figured that since I have a 5th generation ipod, viewing these booklets would not be an issue. Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Help with Ipod, restoring, and updating Itunes!

I was trying to buy a game when it told me I had to update my Iphone software to 3.1.2. So I plugged my Ipod in, and tried to update it. It then told me I needed to update Itunes to 9.0.3 before I could update my Ipod. So I started to update Itunes when an error came up.
So I thought that maybe I didn't really need to update Itunes, so I went into the Itunes store and bought the update for my Ipod. It started to download, and then it froze. My ipod had the screen with the apple on it.
So I didn't know what to do and I looked at tech support and it said to restart your computer. So I unplugged the Ipod and restarted the computer. When the computer came back on I pugged the ipod back in and the screen said to connect to Itunes.
So I connected it to Itunes and all my information was gone! It said it detected my Ipod was in recovery mode and to restore the ipod. So I try to restore it and then it says error (1603) and won't let me restore my ipod.
I tried looking up the error and I couldn't find anything. I have no idea what I did and I'm worried I may have lost everything.
So now I can't even get my Ipod to turn on and it's my dads and he is not very happy. And I don't think he has backed it up in a while. So help would be VERY APPRECIATED!!!!!!

Help with recording 2 tracks at the same time

Basically I recently purchased an Audio Interface (BEHRINGER XENYX Q802 USB) and I'm having trouble recording multiple tracks at the same time while using it.
When I set up 2 MONO tracks in my DAW (one using input 1, the other using input 2) all that happens is that I get a recording of one mic over both tracks in my DAW.
This is probably a beginner post and I have looked it up on YouTube etc. but it just doesn't work for me... Maybe it has something to do with my Interface, but any help will be much appreciated.
