Help with possible hijacking virus in safari?
Hi,
Over the last few weeks I've been having a problem where I will type in the URL of a website, and instead of it loading properly - a completely different site loads. It only happens occasionally and seems to randomly pick when it's going to affect Safari. I'm typing in the URL correctly each time it occurs.
The websites that I have visited when it appears is facebook, megavideo, commonwealth bank and a few more.
Sometimes if I reset safari and empty cache it stops the problem for a little while.
I've also wiped my mac and reinstalled everything but I still keep having this little problem.
I've posted a grab of when it affects a site. After about a minute of the page below it automatically loads up ebay.
Just wondering if anyone can help me get rid of this virus or whatever it is that is causing it.
Thanks in advance.
It's not a virus; it's a Trojan Horse.
If you go to http://macscan.securemac.com/files/DNSChangerRemovalTool.dmg and download that and install it, it will remove the Trojan. Just remember to restart your Mac when that program is done, otherwise you'll still have the problem. You should also change your DNS servers to those from OpenDNS (http://www.opendns.com). They're faster than your ISP's DNS servers, and they will offer you protection from various malware and phishing scams.

Really need help with this, can't use safari on my ipod
I clicked on a link on a website for my school, and then it opened in another page. idk if i clicked something or this happened on its own, but then a video tried to open from the image. I've messed around with my settings, and i can't seem to be able to get a youtube video to open on my ipod if it's from a website, i always have to go directly from youtube to find anything. So it says "could not load video", the only option is to click okay, so I do, and then it gives me the main ipod youtube page, with history and search and all that stuff. I give up and decide to just look at something else, and click safari, except it goes straight to the image, which goes straight to the unloadable video on another program, and then i have to close the page. It goes in circles, but it means that safari is unusable, and my computer is broken, so i really need it for internet.
Also, is there a way to make youtube videos viewable from a website link?
And why, when I search up a popular song on youtube on my ipod, and type in that i want the lyric video, i only get live versions, and there is never any lyric videos, and i usually detest live versions of songs?? and then when i search the same thing on someone's computer, i get my lovely lyric videos? Is Youtube angry at Apple or something?
aand why were the older ipods less crash-prone?
answers are very helpful, especially for the first question, because i am clueless about technoloy. Honestly, it took me a year to learn how to turn on my computer....A lote of sitesuse the Flash version of YourTube. no iOS devices support flash. The you have to either use the YourTube app or Safari to go to YouTube since Safari tells the YouTube site to use HTML5.
For other problems withwith Safari try going to Settins>Safari and clear Histor, Cookies and Data.
Also reset the iPod. Nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. -
Lately i have been unable to access only one writers forum. Today iTunes will not play any of my tunes. As well, stuff is acting funny! If i have a virus can somebody tell me where to log my questions or lend me a hand here. I don't have a file stash problem. Should i just replace this hard drive and re-do with new. I have all original discs and things. Thanx all!
Hello Eugene,
Hmmmm. Norton strikes yet again me thinks. Is there an un-installer for Norton?
Norton is lethal to a Mac running OS X. As I understand it, the later the version of X the more lethal Norton becomes.
I fear you could be looking at backing up all your data, then re-installing the OS, then porting across all your music, photos and personal stuff.
Don't do anything though for a few hours - At least until others have had chance to look at my suggestions and possibly offer you more.
Regards again.
Ian.
NB - I will post the in the Level 4 lounge too. Some one more knowing than me ( not too difficult to find! ) may be able to assist you more. -
Help with mackeeperapp2 hijacking
Using OSX 10.9.3
I was researching websites on Safari. While reading an article about sites, I clicked on one that I thought would be appropriate. A new window opened trying to load mackeeperapp2.zeobit.com (which is not mentioned anywhere on the page I was reading) on top of that, a javascript window opened listing the above address and stating "Please consider cleaning your mac from junk." (Pretty sure that wasn't written by someone who speaks English) with a choice to click cancel or ok. I did neither. But I now have no control over Safari. I can quit Safari or force quit and open while holding down the shift key but both the original safari window (which is frozen) and the mackeeper window with the javascript open. I can not get into safari preferences. I tried logging out then logging back on while holding the shift key, but still if I open safari I get both windows. One forum suggested (for mackeeper - not mackeeperapp2) to go into my library folder and move the com.apple.safari.savedstate folder to the trash, but I cant figure out how to find the library and who knows if that would work since that is old information. It would be great to solve this problem without losing my bookmarks etc.
Thanks for you help!Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the return key and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. From the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize. -
Help with m.website versions on safari on my iPad.. Help
My question is a bit diff bit you might be able to help me never the less. I just don't get m. Site versions).. I dont like the m. versions on safari when I use facebook for example. As of today every time I log into Facebook from the safari website it looks like the app version, which is odd. It never did that before. I looked at the browser bar and it shows http://m.facebook.com and not http://www.facebook.com as it used to show and be on my safari browser
. How do I get ride of the automatic m.facebook and go back to www.facebook.com version Does it make sense? Please HELP maybe you can help. I use iPad.Hi Jonathan, first, at the bottom of the safari "web browser" it doesn't give me the version of full site or desktop browser. It usd to until tonight, which is what's odd.
Second, you don't need to be sarcastic with your 3rd point on me getting a job with Facebook.
3rd thank you for the info
4th, I have download chrome and now it's using full website version and no the (m. Version) on Facebook, only downside that chrome is very slow...
Facebook was always identifying it self as iOS safari yet I could still used he full version on the browser, now it doesn't work. And it always shows www.m.blahblah.com etc... It used to always show. Www.blahblah.com without the m. I front. That is what is bothering...

Help with possibly dead ipod .... any hope?
While listening to my Ipod, it suddenly sounded like it was dying - the music slowed down - like when a cassette tape gets twisted or runs out of battery life. The screen froze. I know it was fully charged - the previous day I charged it until it indicated that I could disconnect - and the green battery icon was near full before it seized up. I tried reset to no avail. The screen went blank Plugged into to PC to try and charge, but screen stays blank and the pc doesn't recognize it.
Is there any hope for my ipod?
(I'm in India - there are no service centers listed on the Apple web page)
Any help from fellow Ipod users would be greatly appreciated.

Ipod 5th Gen Video 30G Windows XPHi John,
Thanks for the link. There may be some hope - as it seems that I might just have to keep trying. I did try plugging it into the pc to charge, but no response. I read somewhere that I have to wait 30 minutes or so for it to get enough charge to be recognized - assuming that it's the battery.
Do you have any insight as to why the song that was playing just slowly died - slowed down and sounded warped - could this be what happens with a disk drive when the battery goes? Maybe then all I need to do is charge it...
Thanks again,
Steve

Help with possibly noobish question
Hello,
I need to make some complex graph structures such that this format will not do
1: 2 ->4
2: 4 ->2
I have several additions to each node to take care of that is the main problem.
each node has aarity which I could hold as a separate array to be accessed for each object instance of a node
Part 1:
The problem is that i have to know which node is connected to which arity element and then I have to search for the free elements and label their indexes with characters. I think I can solve this
Part 2:
The second problem is maybe a little worse as I have to translate certain groups graphs to something like this and then connect them to any graph as needed. Will i need to make a separate object for this purpose??
| ..................| n input wires connected |
|???????????????????????????????????|
| Wires maped to edges from graph |
|___________________________________|
| ..................| n output wires wires connected |
Part 3:
To compound this I have to find a way to implement a menu selector to choose random graphs or parts of graphs for a Genetic Algorithm. Selection is not the problem here its is mapping the structures into a chromosone which is causing me the problem.
Part 4:
Each connection has the graphs triggers different application specific rules that cause the graph to reduce or change connections.
Any help on strategies for these problems would greatly be appreciated
kind regards
PrashantHello all and thanks for the replies positive or not. Sorry if I offended you bbritta. I guess its not such and easy question after all.
Well its not due tomorrow and I am doing some research into a wierd topic so you guys are along the right lines. The topic I am researching is non-determinstic interaction nets. I don't know too many people doing this. Interaction Nets invented by a guy named Yves Lafont and you can google this and the topic I am researching.
All the code written thus far exists in C and is very hard to interpret as it uses a Lex and Yacc parser to implement the creation of tokens and syntax rules of the Interaction Nets programming language.
Basically its a high level visual graph programming language however it can also be used on low level based on interpretation. Thus the need for graph data structures. Essentially I have to modify this programming language for non-determinism and demonstrate this in a Genetic Algorithm. The latter would be no problem if I could get the data structure sorted. People familiar with Lamda calculus, Linear Logic and Process Calculus might have seen this in some research papers.
However I have not had a very good theoretical background so finding the data structures to map the complexity of the graphs is a little problematic. I will outline my idea and what I have done a little clearer below.
So far I have broken the prob into smaller steps as suggested by someone, I hope the pseudo code helps a little more.
class Symbol
convertASCIItoINt( char value) : return int
getChar() : return char
checkAvailability() : return boolean;
//each Symbol is assigned to a free port and is traditionally input.
//several instances of this obj are used to
class Port implements Symbol
initialisePort( num);
checkFreePorts( ) : return boolean;
setPortSymbol (port [num])
private ports [ num ];
setEndPortAsSpecial( ports [ num ]) // each node has a special port called principal port
// each node has a set of port and each port can have a label as a string
class Node
setNodeSymbol()
getnodeSymbol()
public Port node_obj [ port_num ];
setSpecialSymbol( string)
//destructor to delete node connected to
//duplicator to create a copy of cell value
//constructor create a copy of the cell
getSpecialSymbol() : return string symbol;
checkSpecialSymbol(node_obj [ port_num ]): return string symbol;
//so far as a typical graph goes i think its acceptable to connect the nodes in an vector with
//a list at each element although this is not shown below.
class Net
connecNodes( node_obj [ port_num], node_obj [ port_num] )
checkDeadlock(): return boolean; //check for cycles
public Node net_obj [ node_num ];
checkConnected( node_obj [ port_num], node_obj [ port_num] ): return boolean;
//this is where the execution engine will be placed
class InteractionRules
ruleTrigger( )
Node n = new n
n.checkSpecialSymbol()
// its here where things get complicated with the data structure as according to the rules I have to delete
// add or copy a value of a particular node in a Net
determineReduction()
//if (ports [ num ] = num )
// a reduction occurs according to the rule in the method above ruleTrigger();
//at this point the relevant nodes will be removed and new nodes will be added according to the rules
storeCopyofOriginalNet()
//needed to rollback if rules are infeasable or deadlock occurs.
}I desperately still need help to complete the data structure I have also considered manipulating the complex associations between the sets as multimaps and maps
Sorry if I am not clear I am trying my best to explain something I have had little background and almost no help in as I am creating the special rules as I go along such as keeping an copy of a net / graph before modifying it in the Genetic Algorithm.
Kind Regards and Best Wishes

Help removing possible email virus
I am getting tons of bounce backs from emails that i did not send and addresses are not from my address book. Virus scans of hard drive with multiple security software products come up negative. any ideas of where to go from here?
Spoofing,
Unfortunately the standards that defines the basic eMail SMTP protocol do not do a validation of who you say you are so by using the protocol I can connect to a mail server and say, e.g.. From [email protected] , and it a basic mail server will accept it. Incorrectly identifying yourself in any of the TCP/IP protocols is a spoofing attack. -
Help with Possible Mask Bug in CF8
When letting a user edit their PRICE field at my website, I
populate the field with the VALUE attribute (as seen below) using a
MASK:
<CFINPUT TYPE="TEXT" NAME="price" VALUE="#price#" SIZE="7"
MAXLENGTH="7" MASK="9999999">Enter your price
<B>without</B> decimals, cents, or dollar signs.
Examples: 45, 1, 17900.
However, when pulling the number from the database, CF8 will
add trailing zeros to the number!!!!
For example: if #price# equals 25, the value populated in the
field is 2500000!!!
Is this a bug? When I reamove the mask, it works fine. It's
not doing this on my CF 4.5 (installed on my own server). I am
using a paid providers' CF8.
If it is a bug, how would I fix this and how do you report a
bug? This is the 2nd one I found using CF8 (the other was
Validate="integer" actually allows "$" as an integer ...also "$$$"
and "$454$3$$3$", etc.)

hmm... the 'mask' attribute was introduced in CFMX7...

I am working in a psych lab and we use a STISIM drive sim to do some research. The problem is that this sim uses a weird proprietary code that scenarios must be written in. Its simple enough, but a huge time suck.
I was hoping there would be some way to develop a GUI with simple fields that could be filled out for each event, and then once all events were in place, the code exported in a simple text format.
I know very little about objective-c and xcode, but I was hoping someone could point me toward the kind of code I should be looking at to accomplish this kind of task. What functions can be used to take a bunch of single field inputs, convert them to another form, and then lump them all together in one big file?Take a look at using AppleScript and Automator.

Hi everyone. This is my first time in here or any other forum actually. I am looking for answers like most of us are. I had never opened my safari window on my iphone must before but noticed that it had a option called databases. Can anyone explain to me why I have m.yahoo.com and yahoo_services on there as a database. I deleted it once it came back again. I also had another database on when I first looked and it was an email address of an acquaintance of mine. Can anyone shed some light on either of these topics? Thanks
Thank you. I do use yahoo mail and go to yahoo. What about the email address that appeared there as a database?

Help with possible reasons for red light?
Hello,
Maybe somebody here has encountered the problem where the

in to localhost fails. I even tried to reinstall FMS, didn't help.
When I just first installed the whole thing yesterday I had a
green light, but then I broke someting apparently. I checked
fms.ini and the port is 1111 for admin.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

Help with possible mouseEvent/Keyboard Event problem
Hi guys, I am having trouble with a game I am creating right now. The problem seems to lie on mouse / Keyboard event.
Basically, I have a character that the player can control using the keyboard arrow keys and it works perfectly fine on its own. Whenever the game starts, the player can control the character instantly with the keyboard. Here's the problem now, after I added another page (at frame 1) and created a start game button, those keyboard events won't start immediately anymore. The player must click on the stage again before it works. Is there any method to solve this?
Right now, here is my Start button page.
var start_btn:Start_btn = new Start_btn;
start_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, goGame);
function goGame(event:MouseEvent) {
gotoAndStop("game"); //The game's frame
this.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,goGame);
Here's some code for the actual game part.
stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN,keyP ressed);
function keyPressed (e:KeyboardEvent) :void {
//character movement code...like charcter.x++, x-- etc
Thanks in advanceHow about trying:
stage.focus = stage;
in goGame(). -
Need help with possible dual listener configuration and listener traffic
Hello:
We seperate our network traffic to the database servers using VLAN's. We have application traffic on 192.168.1.x and replication/admin traffic on 10.112.28.x. We are looking to configure 2 listeners for the database, one to listen and respond on 192.168.1.x and one to listen and respond on 10.112.28.x. Right now, we have one listener that is configured for both networks, however, for servers that are connected to both networks, the client sends on 192.168.1 but receives a TNS redirect to 10.112.28. For clients only on the 192.168.1, the TNS redirect to 10.112.28 times out because the client cannot resolve the address. I can make available a Visio diagram of our current configuration. We also utilize server-side load balancing.
Here is our dilemma, confirmed by analyzing packet traffic to and from the database on a Fluke:
1) For servers in our environment that reside on BOTH network segments (multihomed), application "traffic" generated on 192.168.1.x arrives at the listener. Through server-side load balancing, a TNS redirect string is returned to the client, which, based on the following listener configuration, redirects the connection to the 10.112.28.x segment:
LISTENER_RMLNDB01 =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 10.112.28.8)(PORT = 1521)(IP = FIRST))
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.1.8)(PORT = 1529)(IP = FIRST))
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC))
2) For servers that reside on only one network (ex. 192.168.1.x), when the redirect is returned to that server, it experiences a timeout and connection failure because it cannot physically reach 10.112.28.x
Is there any way, through tnsnames, splitting listener.ora, VLAN's, the database itself, anything, for us to have requests for 192.168.1 be returned on 192.168.1 and not redirected. Would client side load balancing be a better option? Any way to manipulate the service registrations?
Thanks for all future responses!

Thanks for all future responses!
