Help with Real Player

Hi, I found a live streaming film that plays via realplayer. The only option available is Realplayer. However, unlike quicktime, there is no 'save as' option in realplayer. Therefore if I am not online I can't watch it.
Is there any way to save the video to my hard drive?

Perhaps Real is similar to Quicktime inasmuch as one
has to purchase the full version before items can be
saved.
There is an option to upgrade to a "higher" level of Real Player for a fee, though I'm not certain what that really buys you. More likely, the film might simply be streamed, and not available for download. That is, when you go to play the film, the server only doles out little bits of it at a time, so the whole thing is never stored on your computer, hence there's no option to save it.

    == update to 3.6.4. version

If you install 3.6.3 and don't want it to automatically upgrade you need to open the browser and select "Tools" from the menu bar. Go to "Options". Select the "Advanced" icon. Go to the "update" tab on the "Advanced" menu. Here you can configure how and what Firefox updates.
    Hope that helps.

It was working fine until recently, new songs that I download will show up on Real Player under my I-Pod but they won't actually show up up on my physical I-Pod. I was able to succesfully dowload about 85 songs, but since then, I've tried to dowload about another 80 songs that just won't transfer over.. Please help me

Now i always thought that iPod could only be used with iTunes.

  • Help with Plash player 10,3,162,29.

    Help with Plash player 10,3,162,29.e
I need some help with Flash Player 10,3,162,29.
I'm able to play youtube videos and most prerecorded videos.
However, with streams in realtime, like news sites, live sporting events and live webcam feeds,
they play fine for about a minute or 2 then the feed just stops (the player does not crash or close or give me an error).
I'm using 64bit Ubuntu 10.10 maverick ,in both KDE & Gnome.
This happens with all browsers I have tried also, from the recent release of Chrome to FireFox4.
I have also tried other versions of flash player with only the same results (even 32bit versions).
I also tried the newest release of flash aid.
    I've updated my drivers.
I have also disablded hardware acceleration and also tried it with it enablded.
    Nothing seems to work.
Below is a exapmle of a recorded video that stops after about 2 minutes.
I was able to watch the video fine on a 10 year old Toshiba latop running windows 98,
with very little ram.So I know the issue is not on their side...
    So,what would cause this issue?
My internet connection is fine & very stable.
The desk top PC I'm on is a 64 bit system less then a year old and has 16GB of ram ,so I know it isnt a resource issue.
    Thank you for reading.

Hi, I'm sorry that didn't improve things for you. Normally updates have new features and contain improvements as they have had feed back from those testing this beta.
Even tho you have a 64bit system, you need to use the 32bit browser, which I'm sure you are aware of. Just thot I'd mention that.
It sounds as if the streaming is coming down faster than can be handled. Have you tried to pause it to see if that helps? Do you see if it is buffering? I have a radio station I stream to and for some reason it buffers for quite some time, like 5-7 minutes. I have learned just to let it and then it will start working correctly.
I checked that site you linked to and it played fine for me along with the audio. I use XP/SP3 and have the latest Flash Player version using IE.
One thing I noticed is that you are experiencing this with all browsers. This indicates to me that there is something common that is causing a conflict. Since Flash Player works thru the browser, then anything Installed into the browser(s) is either a + or a -. You may want to look into that possibility.
    A Setting perhaps needs adjusted.
Have you reviewed the Troubleshooting Guide? I don't know if that would be helpful but there may be something you would see. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/153/tn_15397.html  Also a couple of links that may help.

That would be all that I would have since I am sort of lost when it comes to Linux.

How can I download videos from youtube with may MacBook Pro? I cannot download with real player. So how can I do it?

There are two apps that I know of - and I would also swear that they come from the same developer, although they've different names. Both have free trials and both cost $40 (but both do 'other' video conversion as well).
One is WonderShare - I bought this one and it works very well for downloading YouTube videos as well as converting just about any file format you can think of.
The other is iSkysoft Video Converter (just noticed that it's now $36).
I tried them both and finally decided on WonderShare. Give them both a trial run and decide if you like either one enough to buy it. I don't know of any 'free' software that will allow you to download and convert YouTube videos, but perhaps someone else will come along and know of something...
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Need help with flash player installation please !!!!

    Hello,
I need help with my flash player installation because every time I access a movie this is the message I receive.
This content on Xfinity TV is not available for viewing with Chrome's "Incognito" mode. To play this video using Chrome, please view this page without "Incognito" mode.
Still having problems? Try resetting your Flash player license.

Incognito mode is a Google Chrome setting when you open a new window (Cmd+Shift+N on a Mac Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows) It opens a "private" window with no cookies and no tracking. The problem with it is that when you disable cookies, your license files are not sent to the site (whetehr it's YouTube or xFinity or any other that uses license files for paid content)  and it treats you as if you're a first time visitor. Paid videos won't play wihtout the cookies sending the license file info.
This isn't a Flash Player setting. It's in Chrome. I did some research and according to Google, "Incignito" mode is off by default, and can ONLY be activate by the keyboard shortcut. There IS a way to disable it from the registry http://dev.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#IncognitoModeAvailability

  • I downloaded and installed firefox 5, but uninstalled it because it is not conpatible with Real Player video downloader. I cannot download videos from You tube or other sites with Firefox 5. How can I resolve this problem? ooader

I use Real Player to play music and videos. I also download videos from You Tube and from other sites thru Real Player which is compatible with Firefox 4.0.1, but not with Firefox 5. Please tell me why?

Firefox 4.0.1 has been an unsafe browser since the release of Firefox 5. So please don't use it.
Real hasn't made Real Player Browser Plugin compatible with Firefox 5.

  • Using iPod Classic with Real Player

I recently received an 80GB iPod Classic. This is my first portable media player. I have purchased music from the Real Store using RealPlayer. This music is rights protected, and I do have the proper rights to use the downloads. In Real Player, these music downloads come with a .rax suffix, instead of .mp3. Can anyone tell me how to set up my system to play my Real Store purchases on my new iPod? Everything I've read leads me to believe it can be done, but I've tried the recommendations on the Real Support site, to no avail. I would really appreciate any insight.

Really? My general impression is that all copy protection is proprietry and, as far as the end user is concerned, is just a bad thing. iTunes can't read WMA protected content, Window Media Player can't read iTunes protected content. RealMedia just extentds the compatability headache. Media Players will generally cope with only one form of protected content.
I don't have any practial experience with the Real protected format, but the usual workaround for this is to burn your protected content out to CD, assuming you have the necessary rights, then import in an unprotected format. There will be a small loss of quality due to the re-encoding but this should be minimal. There are also programs that can speed up this process for some formats by virtualising the CD and automating the intermediate stages.

  • Firefox will not load because problem with real player plug in

Problem is with vista machine - No problem with machine on Windows 7.
1 Firefox tries to load Real player add on but just hangs.
2 I load Firefox again - perhaps need to do it more than once and, eventually it does load normally when I get the message:
    Real player add on incompatile.
I have to choose Do not Search when it the loads and behaves as normal.
Had this with other add ons and was able to delete them but will notlet me delete real player.

hello, normally such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please try to remove all program rules for firefox in your firewall and let it detect the program again: [[Fix problems connecting to websites after updating Firefox]]

  • Flash 11 conflicts with Real player

    Hello ,
I have windows os having VLC player, K-Lite Kodec Pack and Goms Player.
I am trying to install flash 11 current plugin.  Its installed successfuly.
But it gives me error as : "Real Player 11 is known to cause system conflicts when installed with Flash Player. Please unistall or disable the Real Player browser download feature."
I have no Real Player installed anywher but still it gives me such error.
Please can anyone give me solution.
    Thanks,
    Pranav Unde.

Are you using Firefox by any chance? If so, open it then press CTRL+SHIFT+A to open the Add-ons manager and then go to the Extensions menu. Can you see "RealPlayer Browser Record" in there? If so, click the Disable button.
Sometimes these apps are installed as bundled software, that is to say, when you installed an app, you got the option to install RealPlayer as well and agreed to it. "Agreeing" means you didn't remove the checkmark to install it.

I have confirmed his complaint. stopAllSounds works correctly
across multiple swfs on an html page using Flash player 8 but not
    with Flash Player 9.
Incidentally, there is another big "improvement" (they say)
that prevents you from uninstalling the Flash 9 player without
    running
their uninstaller exe. Unfortunately, their uninstaller
uninstalls all flash player versions (not just version 9) from ALL
    browsers
so if just want to remove player 9 from IE you are forced to
also uninstall it from FireFox etc as well. Great, huh?
