The CNAME thing, just can't find it...

Hi Chandra Shekhar,
To read the 'Input help with fixed values' of domain , you can use the function module : HR_P_GET_FIXED_VALUE_TEXT.
iIf you enter the domain name, you will find the fixed values entered in the domain.
These values are stored in a table DD07L(DD zero 7 L). Here the values are stored based on domain name.
See if it works for you.

Site made with iWeb using personal domain name

I have created a web site on iWeb 08 and have a personal domain name through Network Solutions.
The website was published to Mobile Me after "set up personal domain" was done. The C Name record was changed at Network Solutions to web.me.com. When I write the domain name in the browser a box comes down asking "idisk.mac.com" wants user name and password.
1. Why is it asking for this?
2. every ID and Password I put in, it tells me is incorrect? Ahhhhhhhh What does it want from me?
Please help - I've waisted so much time on this (since last week).

This relates to a problem I can't find in the iWeb manual. Where is my iWeb site actually published to, so I can accurately update it using FTP software, and which method to use for publishing it to domain names?
I have created two websites for two different purposes each with a personal domain (one hosted, the other with webforwarding), and through ignorance have done all three options Publish to MobileMe / Publish All to MobileMe / and Publish to a folder (my home computer user Sites folder). As a result I have three Sites folders each containing both 'mysites'- Computer/user/Sites/sitename, or iDisk/user/Sites/sitename, or iDisk/user/Web/Sites/sitename - all different sizes, worryingly, leaving me unclear which is doing what. What is the diff between Publish All to MMe and Publish to MMe - they both seem to entail both sites totally republishing even if only one page has changed. Each time, of course, it takes several minutes or more to clear through the publishing process, and then some 20-30mins more to synchronise with FTP before I find out whether I've only used the duff old version after all. What is the difference between the three Sites destination folders? Can the difference be used productively? Should I, eg, ensure my sites exist both on my computer and iDisk as backup?
Further confusing factor is that when I log into MMe and look at my folders icon on my iDisk, which are Sites and Web/Sites, the contents of the two 'mysites' folders listed under both areas are different from the SITES/iWeb display listed below them, which seems to be a truncated sort of merger of the 'mysites' contents without their separation into two. Is that iWeb item under SITES on the folders page listing a fourth set of the contents,or what?
Now to synchronising/updating: which Sites folder to use to synchronise the websites with. Can I get updating in sync with republishing? My domain host UKcentric does not provide the CNAME options you have all talked about and they are unobtainable on my hosted domain page. I sent him the web.me.com message as described in the iWeb Personal Domain instrux, but he has persistently instructed me to use FTP software to upload and update the sites. He is not Mac-friendly, he admits. I have now used three programs, ClassicFTP, FileZilla and Cyberduck, all of which seem to be rather different and none of them has told me the sync has completed (the connection drops out, etc - it does take a long time, say 30-40mins to do, and I never know when I "resume" whether it'll pick up where it was or go back to zero start). If I am stuck with this laborious method of regular manual updating, I want to know I am using the correct Sites folder to synchronise the website with. None of this is clarified in the iWeb manual. Can anyone help?

my local provider here in sacramento wants 30 a month as

should I go with a local provider? or go with ... say GoDaddy
or some other company?
also, registering. Im about to register my site name.
however, some companies include it in the "packages" they offer.
should I register it myself or let the hosting company I choose do
it?
sorry for the newb questions....but I cant find any good info
on this and I was hoping maybe some of you that have already done
this to chime in.

Gate.com and pick your package. I use them for several web
sites and have
never been dissatisfied with their services or features.
They will register your domain and I've done it both ways,
but have never
had problems with them but it does make a lot of sense to

Two websites-one with .Mac and one with .Mac using personal domain

Good Day All! I know I asked this before but I think the question got wrapped in with another and I don't see that it has been answered. If I overlooked it I apologize for the duplicate post.
I have a .Mac subscription with one published website already. I am working on another website now in iWeb but I want to publish it using a personal domain name. Can I do this? If so, can I keep them from being linked together?? Does that make sense? Thanks! quinlis

if you use CNAME both sites will be reachable using either the CNAME or the web.mac.com/username/ address
if you use Webforwarding entering the personal domain will get to the site you pointed the domain to
but that site will also be reachable through web.mac.com/username/sitename/
I'd recommend you to use webforward with cloaking/masking/framing in your case. Thus the site you want to have the personal domain for will show the personal domain in the browser and will also be reachable through web.mac.com/username/sitename/ but your other website will not be reachable through your personal domain.
Note that using masking google will not index the content of your pages using your personal domain if you're interested in that.

I guess the best way would be having a family account or two .mac accounts so you can set it up as CNAME and your other site would be published to another account or sub-account and thus not reachable using your personal domain.

Help with registering VB ActiveX EXE

I have an ActiveX EXE that I've compiled and used on 2 of the 3 TS 3.1 systems here. We updated all the files from SourceSafe to pull in all the changes, on the 3rd system and found that the "TestListForm.EXE" wasn't registered on that system (WinXP). I tried the "regsvr32 TestListForm.exe" but XP said that it wasn't a "DLL or OCX" and ignored it. I also made sure that I pointed to the correct file in the Active-X step that calls the file within TestStand.
It wasn't until I recompiled the EXE on that computer (within VB) that it worked correctly.
Is there another way that the ActiveX EXE files need to be registered into the XP system?
There are a few more systems that we will eventually need to install this ActiveX EXE on that won't have VB.

To register an ActiveX exe, call the exe from the command line with the commandline parameter /RegServer.
For example:
MyServer.exe /RegServer

Help with registering multiple XML versions with Oracle 9i

I have a fundamental question. Probably someone had been in similar situation and thought of the best way to handle.
Our product has about 15 versions that we need to support.
Each version publishes its 'xmlschema' and is slightly different from the previous version.
Now if I register each schema version with oracle9i it will auto-create tables for each version (even for xml elements/attributes that are same across different versions).
2 options that we thought of so far to handle this is
-Combine all 15 versions schema's into 1 super-set schema and register with oracle db. Fields/elements, a version does not use will be empty
-Use XML 'extensions' in various xml schema, such that each version in 'extended' from the previous one and keeps on adding its additions attributes/elements. My question is then if I register these 15 'extended' schemas with oracle, will it create common DB tables per version or it will still create unique tables for all 15 versions.
Anyone has any better suggestions or comments to handle this situation ?

I have just purchased a new Mac Book Pro w/Retina display, and it doesn't come with a disc drive. I also purchased Adobe CS6 through Journey Ed. I am a full time student at Los Medanos College. I was instructed by Apple that I can download a trial version and register it with the product code provided on the box. Could you help me in this process?

Not sure what you are asking. If you have the software and the serial then that's all there is to it - download the trial of whatever CS6 product you are referring to, input the serial during install.

Help with registering Ipod through iTunes

i just got a new nano. when i plug it in, itunes comes up as normal and the screen comes up to register the ipod. the problem is that part of the right side of the screen is off the page, making it unable to click the Register Now button or accept the license agreement. There is no scroll bar on the bottom and no way to push the screen over. I've had 2 previous iPods on this computer and this has never happened before. ANY help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Help with Registering objects/access cache

Below is the save routine i use to persist my top-level objects to the database.
It seems very likely that I am doing something fundamentally wrong as I am obvserving behaviour that I do not expect.
For example, I am using a field called version_id to hold an integer for optimistic locking. The first time I save the object, the correct sql is created, and the database row looks as I would expect. However, subsequent attempts to save do not work because I cannot figure out how to get a reference to the object with the incremented version_id.
It would be much appreciated if someone can see things i am doing incorrecty with the implementation i have included below.

When I create a new record, the id (sequence generated) gets set fine, but not the version number.
When I save a record, the version id is not incremented.
It seems to use the version number field properly in the sql though.

I am interested to join the apple developer program for indiviual. I do not own a credit card so can i use a credit card on another name and get the account in my name as i will be the one using the program and creating applications. I will use a friends credit card with his consent to get the developer progrm from apple.. My question is is this possible to do?????

You can do this two ways.
First, you make use of the Java Native Interface. Write a native library for Windows that uses the .NET class, FileSystemWatcher.
This next one isn't the greatest approach. It's more a brute force way, but it still works. Write your own FileSystemListener class that gets a list of files, and checks the timestamp of it's last modification and compares the two.

Help with registering (aligning) two partially overlapping images

I have been digging into the JAI / Java2D algorithms, and I am looking for an algorithm for analyzing two partially overlapping images and returning the coordinates at which to render the second image relative to the first image. The desired end result is to be able to create a mosaic from a series of overlapping tiles. Is there a simple function, transform or library that I've overlooked?
