Help with Reinstalling CS4

After not using CS4 for a few years, I tried to launch Photoshop and Dreamweaver on 10.9.2 but wasn't able to get them running.
I downloaded the CS4 installer and was hoping to "repair" the installations but, when I run the installer, the checkboxes next to those apps are disabled.
What's the best approach to being able to use my apps again - do I uninstall them and then run the installer or is there a way to get the standard installer to let me "repair" the current installs?

Can you at least launch the application even if you can't do anything before it crashes?  If you can then you need to deactivate the product first before uninstalling and reinstalling it.  To deactivate it go to:
HELP >> DEACTIVATE
If you can't launch the application at all then when you uninstall the product, make sure you remain online so that uninstaller will prompt you to deactivate it and this is all automatic.
Once you have done this, you can use Adobe Cleaner tool to remove it completely from the system:

    I am usung the Captivate reviewer to distribute draft modules.
    The problem I am havving is the .LOCK file - when someone goes to review the module, they have to specify the location of a temp file. (the .lock file). When they have finished that module, then they have to either specify a new location for the next module, ot manually delete the lock file.
    Is there a way to disable the comments logging feature, or have the lock file automatically deleted?

  • Please help with reinstalling Windows 8 on the U410 touch!

    Hello,
    I've recently dropped my U410 touch laptop from a small height, but it landed unfortunately and the hard drive was running, which eventually lead to its failure. After getting this hard drive replaced, I ordered the recovery disks in order to reinstall the Windows 8 OS on my machine.
    Here is the problem I encountered: the U410 touch does not have a CD drive and thus I cannot insert the recovery disks in the device. I have access to my old laptop and I have been trying for the past few days to connect the two, ( with an Ethernet cable) in order  to be able  to use the CD drive of my old laptop.
    What I have done already: 
    - repaired my hard drive
    - allowed access privileges to everyone on my old laptop CD drive
    -recovered the Lenovo recovery disk for my specific model and Windows OS
    - tried numerous times ( to no avail) to get the cd working for my new laptop
    What I would really appreciate help with:
    - instructions how to connect my old CD drive to my newer laptop
    - launch the recovery sequence from the CD drive of my old laptop
    Any help would be really appreciated,
    I am quite lost with this.

  • I need help with reinstalling Itunes on windows 7

    Please help me, Im having an issue with reinstalling Itunes on my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Oeration system. I usually never had any issues with updating it. But today it started to mess up with me. everything goes fine except for these issues: when it comes to the Starting services it bring an issue.then it brings this issue It says it has been installed correctly but when i try to open the itunes brings up this error.and thats it. I tried to delete all the file from the Itunes folder in Program Files (x86). Please help me. I cant work w/o itunes.......

  • I need help with Photoshop CS4 reactivation issue

    It may be more than just an activation issue.  CS4 has always worked beautifully on my iMac until yesterday when it failed to launch.  I tried everything and finally deactivated it, reinstalled it and it still won't launch.  I do not have Photoshop CS4 on any other computer.  I've been all over the web and ran into many people with the same problem.  Adobe won't help resolve CS4 issues so I'm stuck.  HELP!!

    Does launching it give you an error code?

  • Need help with Premiere CS4 Export...

    I currently shoot HD video with a Canon Vixia HF S10 digital camcorder (link goes to Canon's site). I shoot at the highest quality available, MXP 24 Mbps (1920x1080). When I bring the video over to my machine, it comes over as an .mts file which is the AVCHD file format (link goes to Wikipedia article on the format). I import these .mts files into Adobe Premiere (CS4). I import them into a AVCHD 1080p30 (29.97) Sequence. I do my editing, adding title screens, music, whatever. The problem comes when I go to export the final product into a usable format.  I've tried all different sorts of formats to export to and I can't get any usable results. If I select, for instance, H.264 HDTV 1080p 29.97 High Quality (a preset within Premiere) the video comes out extremely choppy...as in the audio will play and the video will hitch along and be mostly out of sync dropping whole sections of the video as it tries to catch up.
    My end goal is to be able to export two versions...a higher quality (maybe burned to a DVD or Blu-Ray) and a lower quality (but still HD) for uploading to YouTube/SmugMug.
    Any help or thoughts anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.

    Your computer is going to be a bit slower, but I don't see anything really obvious that would cause the output to be choppy
    But... have you considered converting to HDV to see if that edits better for you?

    Added... Looking at my notes, I use a different AVCHD setting in CS5... have you tried other AVCHD project settings?

  • Help With Photoshop CS4 + background image

    So I'm trying to edit this background image for my myspace page, it looked fine in photoshop cs4, even when I previewed the image with the save to web and devices , the image looks fine. I also saved the iamge with the highest quality settings I could as a JPG. But when I add it to my myspace page the image becomes blurry , it's hard to see everything

    I know it's not the code becuase the code is exactly the same , the only thign I changed was the image adress. The only part of the iamge i changed in cs4 was the logos, i didnt change the iamge size its stil lthe same.

    Download the License Recovery dmg file and carefully follow the instructions for Mac OS 10.7
    I know it works, I have successfully recovered from a 150:30 before using this script properly.

  • Help with PS CS4 for Mac (Lion 10.7.3)

    I bought Photoshop CS4 about a year and a half ago and it worked on my old Macbook (10.5.8) absolutely fine. I recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro (Lion 10.7.3) and now Photoshop crashes about every ten minutes for no apparent reason. By "crashes" I mean that the spinning wait cursor appears and I am forced to use force quit as Photoshop is no longer responding.
    I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, turned off automatic graphics switching (I read on a similar discussion that this might help) and nothing seems to work. It's very very frustrating, made more frustrating by the fact that neither Apple or Adobe seem to be able to speak to me in person about this matter. I desperately need Photoshop for my work and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    do your crashes generate an Apple and Adobe crash reports?
    if so, copy the Adobe report and paste it here
    try this for some basic maintance & troubleshooting in the meantime

  • Help with InDesign CS4 after re-installing

    My iMac's hard drive had to be replaced due to a recall.  When back-up operation was done, Design Premium CS4 did not transfer. I uninstalled and reinstalled according to Adobe tech support's instructions. Now my InDesign does not work. It will open, but there are hardly any features. What should I do? Please, please help.     What does "hardly any features" mean? Are tools not avialable? Palettes missing? Are ther any warnings/ errors during program startup? sounds like none of the core plug-ins are loading....

  • Help with reinstalling my Creative Suite!!

    I have the Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium, and I recently purchased the Creative Cloud (monthly) for a class I am taking that I needed After Effects for. I was having trouble opening After Effects, and in order to solve the problem, I chatted with someone at Adobe who ended up having to remote control my desktop and uninstall every Adobe product on my computer. He reinstalled the Creative Cloud for me, but now I am missing my Creative Suite. Can someone help me get these products back?

    You have not provided any relavant system info or other details. Simply run the cleaner tool and reinstall.

  • Need Help with script: CS4 Flash Buttons

    I created a 3 button bar using Flash CS4. It will link to three different HTML pages in a website. This is one of the three scripts I have on the first frame of the main timeline, the code is for one of the buttons, the other two are really the same with differing button numbers. This code does now open the page up in a NEW BROWSER window, but I would like the page to open in the existing window and not in a new one. The 3 buttons also have down states identified by a frame label of “hold”, I would like the script to set the hold frame or down state to be displayed when the proper page is loaded in the browser .  Will someone please suggest to me what I need to add to this script to achieve this, your time and effort will be appreciated.

  • Can anyone help with reinstalling please?

    Was trying to watch tv on son's laptop.  It told me to deinstall flash and then reinstall.  It deinstalled fine but when I try to reinstall and push the yellow button nothing happens except a small, new window pops up saying "Bad Request".  Please can anyone help?  I've tred loads of times.

  • Help with reinstalling Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection

    About a year or so ago, I purchased and installed the Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection on my 1TB external hard drive (since that hard drive was bigger). Unfortunately, the hard drive just died, which means that all the programs in the suite are gone. I'm now trying to reinstall the suite internally on my computer, but it isn't letting me pick the directory. Everything else is fine; the serial number works, my account is working and there aren't any errors. But when I reach the 'options' page, I'm stuck. I check the option to install all the programs, I pick the language, but where it says the directory, it still has the directory of my old hard drive. I've tried unplugging the external hard drive (just in case it was still reading it), but it still has the directory chosen, and there isn't any button to let me browse and change it to another hard drive. I tried installing it anyway to see what would happen, but the install fails and stops. I even tried to copy and paste the new directory into the space, but still nothing. Can anyone help? Also, I went to Control Panel to see if the files were still there, but they weren't.

    Thank you so much! I ran the cleaner, and it's given me the option to change BUT now, it gives me this when I pick the new directory. Any suggestions?
