Help with semi fixed iPhone 2g?

Hi all and thanks for reading.
I recently bought an iPhone 2g with the intention of fixing it as neither the home button nor the charging port were working. I bought a new flex and installed in into the iPhone with no problems. The home button is now working so I can put the phone into recovery/DFU mode which I couldn't before however the iPhone still isn't being recognised by the PC or charging (I know the cable and PC are good for charging as I can charge my old Nano from them). The iPhone is now seriously running out of battery and will not stay on hardly atall. If anyone has any ideas I'd be really grateful!

Can I also just add that when I plug the phone in with the cable the iPhone boots so the phone is recognising its been plugged in, but nothing comes up on the PC or anything.

Help with smart fix please!

I was putting a video in my time line and adobe said there were some thing wrong with my clip and would i like to change it with smart fix. i said yes adn dont show me message again.... needless to say my clip was eddited so much that i want to see that message again or i need a way to trun off smart fix. please need some help cant find an answer anywhere!

Under Edit/Preferences, you can re-activate any messages, including Smart Fix, that you previously told the program not to show any more on the General page. Just check the option to Show All Do Not Show Again Messages.
And, yes, a clip must have been Auto Analyzed prior to your adding it to your timeline or you will not see the Smart Fix option panel.

I assume when you say "pin" you mean passcode. If it's disabled from entering the wrong passcode too many times you'll have to restore it to remove the passcode. If you have iOS 7 with Find My iPhone enabled, you'll either have to force it into recovery mode to restore it (as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808) or go to icloud.com and use Find My iPhone to erase it. After doing so, restore your most recent backup.

Help with Find my Iphone app

Just set up my find my Iphone app and it doesnt have me in the right roads ( im at work and it has me 3 roads away from where I am sitting at my desk) was wondering if its something I did or if I need to do something else.

I can't send mms messages with ios 6, everything was good with ios 5.1.1 in my iphone 4, Need help please. (apple give us a nice and easy way to go back ios 5.1.5 or fix all these problems with ios 6)

Need help with backup for iphone 4

hey all,
i just upgraded to IOS 5.1.1, and i was pretty mad to find out all my contacts were wiped out after i did this. so i plugged it in my computer, went into iTunes, and tried to restore from backup...well, that would have worked out fine, except it keeps restoring to an old back up from April 17...no matter what i do! i'm trying to use a backup from May 20.
So here's what i'm doing, if anyone can give me insight, by all means!
Restore from backup > iphone name: (here on the drop down list, i see my phone name and various dates including april 17, 2012, and may 20, 2012, which is the date of back up i am trying to use. below the drop down menu, it reads "Last Backed Up: 4/17/2012". but if there are more recent dates listed in the dropdown, doesn't it mean the last back up was whatever date listed in the dropdown??
at any rate, i choose the may 20 back up, and i get a pop up window that says "A more recent backup from 4/17/12 is available for the iphone..." and gives me the option of "use newer backup" or "use older backup". well even if i click the newer backup, it only uses the 4/17/12 backup, not may 20 one. if i click older backup, it gives me a backup from a LONG time ago.
so does this mean i don't actually have a backup from may 20?? i see that the file from 5/20/12 is there when i go to my mobilesync > backup folder on my computer...so i dont get what the problem is. i even tried deleting the 4/17/12 folder from there, and went back into itunes...no luck.
i dont think the upgrade in IOS shoudl be affecting this? afterall both of the backups i listed were both of the old IOS...

You do know that contacts are NOT part of the iTunes backup, right? The only part of contacts that get backed up is the information needed to maintain your favorites and recent call log.
Contacts are meant to live permanently on your computer (Outlook, Address Book) or a cloud-service (Google, iCloud) for safekeeping and archival.
Sounds like you might not have been using your phone as recommended and that your contacts are gone. That's unfortunate. Now might be a good time to review the User Guide to refamiliarize yourself with the way you should be using your phone to minimize data loss in the future.

i have upgraded my phone to an iphone 5 and went to sync it and it says i need a new version of itunes and so i went to do that and it needs OS X 10.8 and so i go to update my macbook and that says i have no updates available but my macbook is only 10.5.8 so i rang apple and they said my macbook is too old, its only 5 years old im not happy with just giving up there surly there must be something i can do, u dont just chuck away a macbook after 5 years, please can someone help me?

You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.

Help with iCal on iPhone

When I sync my iCal strange things are now happening. The iCal as it appears on my Mac Book Pro is as I want it (all info is up to date and correct). When I sync my phone using iTunes (actually pluged into the lap top) the information on my iCal on my iPhone gets very messed up: events get doubled, events get added that were never ther (i.e.: an event created for a week from now, might show up on three different days at random times), events that were once on my iCal that I have since deleted show up.
I would like to replace all information that is in my iCal on my iPhone with all the information that is on my iCal on my Mac. When I choose the advanced option it attemps to do the revers.

You'll find it's the easiest solution.
I tried resetting many times but it never worked. Finally, I read Phillip's tip and it worked.

HOWEVER, I do present a solution which really can sort hings out for you gyúys having problems with the sync-process.
Go to your iPhone Settings. Choose iCloud. Turn OFF Calenders.
Connect your iPhone to your Mac (either Wi-Fi or USB-cable), find your iTunes and begin to sync.
What you did: You circumvented the iCloud and sync manually with your computer. Easy, peasy.

PLEASE help with back up iphone 3gs to windows 7? cant find files!

Can someone PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME! I am at my wits end with this. I have an Iphone 3GS with softare 3.1.3 . I am trying to back up my contacts/calendar/apps so I can download the newer software version 5 and so I can get a new Iphone 4S.
As I have window 7, when I sync my device. It chooses to sync Contacts to 'Windows Contacts' and Calendar to 'Outlook' and Bookmarks to 'Internet Explorer' and Notes to 'Outlook'
I do not use Outlook but have it on this laptop. However when I looked at it to find my iphone calendar and notes, they are not there.
Also I cannot locate my Contacts anywhere on my laptop
They are not in Users/(username)/ apps
as I dont have a folder under user name that is called Apps!
Any help would be much appreciated from anyone

Any experience with Apple fixing Iphone just after warranty has expired

My iPhone has just past a year old, actually it's now 54 Weeks since I purchased it. The Touch Screen has just stopped working, it was fine, I went to unlock it and it didn't respond. I've now reset, restored etc and the touch part of the screen is just dead.
Has anyone had any experience getting Apple to fix a phone after the warrenty has expired? The touch screen seems to be a common problem with the phone, and it renders it completly useless and if just happens to fail just after the warranty has expired the only option is to pay for a brand new phone, or use the $199 service option.

Call iPhone support or talk to a genius at an apple store. If it is an issue that is really common they might make an exception to the warranty. Can't hurt to ask if you have the time to wait on hold.

Help with contacts between iphone and address book

I am learning my way through the syncing activities and will say, as some other have, that it is a bit more complicated than I had hoped. I've had a mac for over 20 years and used the older mac.com, which I would sync with my computer. I did not renew it when I found I wasn't using it for the cost.
I recently got my first iphone and had the contacts moved from my old cell phone by AT&T when I bought it.
I have a lot of contacts in my imac's address book and I do not want to move all of them to my iphone. Some are just historical in case I want to email that person. For my iphone, I just want the contacts I use most often.
So, in address book, I made a new group and named it iphone contacts. In this I have about 20 cnotacts with email addresses.
On my iphone, I have many of these same people listed, but just their phone numbers as I did not send emails from my previous wireless phone.
So my questions are:
is there any way to get the two to combine via syncing? I want to keep the phone numbers in the iphone contacts and combine them with the email addresses that are in my address book on the imac. I would like to avoid having to open them both and do a lengthy copy and paste event But unless there is some way to tell the lists to combine with each other, on the iphone and in the group list I made in address book that I name iphone contacts, than that is what I'll do. But I thought it was worth a query here to see what options I might have.

Bump, I did not get any replies to my query if there was a way to combine my iphone numbers in my cell phone contacts with email addresses in a group list in my imac's address book via syncing, so I am wondering if anyone knows if there is an app that might help me.

Help with iphoto to iphone

I have just gotten a 8gb iphone today and tried to drag and drop photos from my 6.0.6 iphoto app. to my iphone. I gave me a message something like, ..."was not copied to the iPhone...because it cannot be played on this iPhone." How dose this work . How can I get my photos from my iphoto onto my iphone 3g v2.2.1. I have a sneeky suspicion i have to buy something new. please help

With iphone attached, go to the photo tab and select which album(s) you want to sync.

Need help with ePrinting from iPhone 5

I have HPPhotosmart 7500 . And was printing fine from my iPhone 5 in the past. I did the ISO 8 update and now I can't EPrint.
I reset my internet connection., reset the wifi on phone, deleted the hp printing app and restarted that as well. I even turned my phone off and back on. Nothing is helping.
My printer is on. Not asleep . I have a wifi connection on the printer as well as my phone.
If I to the hp printing app , my phone finds the 7520 printer and the small dot beside it will light green. As soon as I go to click on something to print my phone says " AirPrint not found"
I then go back to the hp printing app , to find that the printer green light is turned off and printer name / printer won't stay on. And Yes , there is wifi connection. It's almost as if ISO 8 , hp printing app , and whatever this "AirPrint " is , isn't connecting or firing together.
All was well until I did the update.
What else do I do when I reset everything ???? Totally lost and frustrated with iPhone at this point. I spent 2 days consuming my time to try to figure this out. I'm lost . And beginning to join the hate bandwagon for Apple

Help with my 1st iPhone

This is my 1st iPhone and I'm having trouble figuring out how to transfer my pictures from my computer to my phone. I ususally get them transferred from phone to phone when I upgrade. But they told me that they can't do that with the iphone. So I need to figure out how to get my pics back to my phone if anyone can help please!!!

Put them in a folder then connect your phone to iTunes and check Sync Photos on the Photos tab of your sync settings, selecting this folder to sync, then sync your phone. They will appear on your phone in the Photos app in both Photo Library (which contains all the photos synced to your phone) as well as under the name of the folder you synced them from.

Help! I've lost my iPhone-pretty sure around the house but I am visiting family and about to fly back across country. It is a 4S, I'm fairly certain wifi is turned off as well as cellular data...but I am not 100% positive, but using the app Find my iPhone has been useless since the "sound" can not be heard and the app can not locate it "offline"...anyway Siri can be made to turn the volume up from something? Selecting "Play a Sound" works regardless of the position of the mute switch. The phone being offline is different. With no network to connect to (either WiFi or Cellular), find my phone will not work. So, if your phone battery is depleted, you will not be able to use find my phone.
