Help with sequence and export settings

hi
need to edit some clips made with camtasia using the tech smith codec
first i convert clips to dvd using stoki converter
then when i start prem cs4 i not sure which settings to use in the "new sequence" window under the editing mode drop down
also not sure of the settings at export settings under the format drop down
need to maintain the best quality
thanks

For the answer to "what Sequence Preset?" you will want to match your Imported footage 100%, even if that means choosing the Desktop Preset, and then customizing all aspects of it, to match.
For the Export, start with "how do I intend to deliver this material?" That will give you the basic settings, and then you can tweak those to suit. How do you plan to deliver the material?
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Right sequence and export settings in Premiere Pro CS6, video with still images

I am trying to run a video on my website (self hosted). This video, made with Premiere Pro CS6, consists of still images with different video effects.
This video is only 50 seconds, but when I transform this in the ogg, webm and mp4 format, I obtain file with large size and the quality is not good.
Could you please guide me to find out the right sequence and export settings in Premiere Pro CS6 to obtain a video for the best possible quality on the web?
A precise description of the settings would be awesome.
    Thank you
    Silvia

Make the export setting the resolution you want to use on the web.
Make the sequence settings accordantly to these export settings

  • Help choosing capture, sequence and export settings?

Hello, Im new to Final Cut. Im using final cut pro 6.0.2 and trying to teach my self the basics of this program. I Shoot with a Canon GL2 in the 16:9 setting and I'm not sure what the optimal settings are for the sequence, capture and export settings. Someone recommended the DV NTSC anamorphic for capture and sequence settings which seems to work fine except when I export to QT movie it appears to be displaying in 4:3 instead of how it previews which is 16:9. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi CJ,
    Welcome to the discussion agora,
...the DV NTSC anamorphic for capture and sequence settings which seems to work fine except when I export to QT movie it appears to be displaying in 4:3 instead of how it previews which is 16:9.
That's normal. Are you watching it in QT? QT displays square pixels while your movie has rectangular ones.
Go to QT main menu>Window>show movie properties>presentation check box and change *conform aperture*.

  • Please help with highest quality export settings...

I have searched the forum and web for hours (no joke!) and I am still trying to figure out what are the best video settings to give me the highest HD quality video in daylight. I am using a Canon HF200 and the latest updated version of FCE. My problem is that I am unable to produce an HD quality video at 1920 x 1080 Full HD without being "jagged". I have two questions; what do you suggest to be the best FCE import and export settings to produce the best HD video, and what settings do you have your HF200 set to (for normal daylight conditions), to produce the best HD video file? The file will be played directly thru my computer to a plasma HDTV.
I have tried several settings, but using anything above 1280x720 16:9, makes the video "jagged". Again, I don't care about the size of the file or how long it takes, I just want the best. Is there something I am missing?
My FCP settings are the following:
I log and transfer the video from the camera into FCP (on a black MacBook; 2.16 GHz with 4 GB RAM) using the AVCHD Apple Intermediate Codec 1920 x 1080i source. I then export the video using the following:
    Export using "Quicktime Conversion".
    Quicktime options video settings are:
    Frame Rate set to "Current"
Key Frames set to every "24" frames
Compressor quality: "best" (Encoding set to "best quality")
    Data Rate set to "automatic"
    Quicktime options video size are:
"HD 1280 x 720 16:9" (anything higher produces the jags!)
Deinterlace source video is NOT checked
My Canon HF 200 settings are the following:
    - P mode
    - FXP (17 Mbps)
    - 60i framerate
all others are set to the normal default
I have read some reports saying the above is good and others suggesting changing FXP to MXP (24 Mbps) and/or the framerate from 60i to PF30. I don't care about the size of the file, I just want the highest quality HD file.
Any suggestions for the best FCE settings and/or HF200 settings would be very much appreciated!
    Thanks for your help,
    Evan

    Thanks again for the feedback
Let me try my best to answer the above (I'm new at all this and I appreciate you guys taking the time to try and help me out).
First off, I tried rendering and that did not help.
Here is my sequence. I am not going into FCE from the camera directly. I have archived the video file from the camera using iMovie (as well as just making an exact copy of the camera files; they both appear to me to be the exact same, both can be logged and transferred into FCE, and both files give me a jagged FCE result).
Once I log and transfer the file(s), I then take the clip and add it to a sequence file (rendering or not rendering the clip(s) at this point does not make a difference), and then click/highlight the sequence file in the browser and export it.
As for "editing the video in a 1920x1080i60 sequence", I think I am. I am not doing any editing to the clip. It is logged and transferred using the AVCHD Apple Intermediate Codec 1920 x 1080i and then exported using either as a Quicktime Movie or Quicktime Conversion (set for 1920 x 1080 using H.264 compression; both ways still result in a jagged video).
That's about it...log and transfer, add clip to sequence, and then export sequence...
I hope this answers the above, but if not, I apologize; I'm still learning!
Also, if I use iMovie, with similar export (share) settings, I get a non-jagged video (I have tried with deinterlacing and not deinterlacing, and both video results are fine)
    Thanks again,
    Evan

  • Help with iMessage and FaceTime settings!

how do you change the phone number in the iMessage and FaceTime settings on an ipad? It will not let me access the phone number from the settings.

    Settings > iMessage - Off.

Plug it into your computer, select it in iTunes then Restore.
Or Settings > General > Reset - Erase all content & settings then setup as new.

  • Sequence and Capture Settings Help Needed

    Hi there...
Need some advice on setting my Sequence and Capture Settings in FCP 6.0.4.
I have a Sony HDR-SR1 (AVCHD) and I know I how to bring the footage in through "Log and Transfer", but I'm not sure what I should be bring the footage in as.
Should I capture with HDV, or can I bring the footage in as ProRes 422 (HQ)? Once captured, should the Sequence be set to HDV - 1080i/60, or should it be set to the ProRes setting? Or, does AIC still play a factor in this and I should choose that?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I bring in as HDV, the file size will be very large. But if I bring it in at ProRes 422, the filesize will be smaller, but how much will I lose in compression?
Also, does anyone know if I'm stuck shooting 1080i/60 or can I get 1080i/50 or 720p/24/25/30?

The orginal footage is not DV, it is DVCPRO 25. I am capturing in the DV setting because of the length of the footage. The DVCPRO deck doesn't have a firewire output.

  • Ideal import and export settings to make a master (uncompressed file)

editing in FCP VERSION 6.0.5 ON A MACBOOK PRO. The footage I'm working with is one 26 GB Quicktime file (16 minute duration), standard definition, 725 x 576, 10 bit uncompressed.
Basically I need to make this file, which is a short film, 1 minute shorter to be eligible to enter it into the Cannes Film festival next week.
What would be the ideal import and and export settings to make a new master e.g. to create a new file that is most uncompressed.
I very much appreciate your help!

It seems that every time you reply your goal has changed.
If you're worried about the self-contained movie requiring FCP to open, that's a simple fix. Right-click on the file and choose Get Info. In the Info window, change the 'Opens With' to QuickTime Player. You'll maintain the best quality and others won't need FCP to open it.

  • Filmic-look, Sequences, and Exporting

I shot various clips at 1920x1080 24fps and 1280x720 60fps (for slow motion scenes) using my Canon t3i. I'm using Premiere CS6 to turn this footage into a short filmic-looking video recapping my trip.
My questions lie in sequence settings and export settings. I want the video to have a cinemascope aspect ratio (2.35:1). Should I use two different sequences-- one for the 24fps video and one for the 60fps? And when I go to render the video to finish it, do I render it at 1920x818 (2.35:1) or 1280x545? I want it to be maximum HD quality, but I'm sure that with my 1280x720 footage I won't be able to have a 1080p video.
I apologize for my lack of understanding of sequences and resolution settings. I'm slowly learning!
    Thank you,
    Josh

Thanks for the response, Jim. So when I want to slow down my 60fps clips, do I just drag those clips into the timeline of the normal 720 24fps sequence, and then just reduce the speed to 50%?

  • Internal table with Import and Export

    Hi All,
    Hi all
Please let me know the use of <b>Internal table with Import and Export parameters and SET/GET parameters</b>, on what type of cases we can use these? Plese give me the syntax with some examples.
Please give me detailed analysis on the above.
    Regards,
    Prabhu

    Hi Prabhakar,
There are three types of memories.
    1. ABAP MEMORY
    2. SAP MEMORY
    3. EXTERNAL MEMORY.
1.we will use EXPORT/ IMPORT TO/ FROM MEMORY-ID when we want to transfer between ABAP memory
    2. we will use GET PARAMETER ID/ SET PARAMETER ID to transfer between SAP MEMORY
    3. we will use EXPORT/IMPORT TO/FROM SHARED BUFFER to transfer between external memory.
ABAP MEMORY : we can say that two reports in the same session will be in ABAP MEMORY
SAP MEMORY: TWO DIFFERENT SESSIONS WILL BE IN SAP MEMORY.
for ex: IF WE CALL TWO DIFFERENT TRANSACTIONS SE38, SE11
then they both are in SAP MEMORY.
EXTERNAL MEMORY: TWO different logons will be in EXTERNAL MEMORY.
    <b>Syntax</b>
To fill the input fields of a called transaction with data from the calling program, you can use the SPA/GPA technique. SPA/GPA parameters are values that the system stores in the global, user-specific SAP memory. SAP memory allows you to pass values between programs. A user can access the values stored in the SAP memory during one terminal session for all parallel sessions. Each SPA/GPA parameter is identified by a 20-character code. You can maintain them in the Repository Browser in the ABAP Workbench. The values in SPA/GPA parameters are user-specific.
ABAP programs can access the parameters using the SET PARAMETER and GET PARAMETER statements.
    To fill one, use:
SET PARAMETER ID <pid> FIELD <f>.
This statement saves the contents of field <f> under the ID <pid> in the SAP memory. The code <pid> can be up to 20 characters long. If there was already a value stored under <pid>, this statement overwrites it. If the ID <pid> does not exist, double-click <pid> in the ABAP Editor to create a new parameter object.
To read an SPA/GPA parameter, use:
GET PARAMETER ID <pid> FIELD <f>.
This statement fills the value stored under the ID <pid> into the variable <f>. If the system does not find a value for <pid> in the SAP memory, it sets SY-SUBRC to 4, otherwise to 0.
To fill the initial screen of a program using SPA/GPA parameters, you normally only need the SET PARAMETER statement.
The relevant fields must each be linked to an SPA/GPA parameter.
On a selection screen, you link fields to parameters using the MEMORY ID addition in the PARAMETERS or SELECT-OPTIONS statement. If you specify an SPA/GPA parameter ID when you declare a parameter or selection option, the corresponding input field is linked to that input field.
On a screen, you link fields to parameters in the Screen Painter. When you define the field attributes of an input field, you can enter the name of an SPA/GPA parameter in the Parameter ID field in the screen attributes. The SET parameter and GET parameter checkboxes allow you to specify whether the field should be filled from the corresponding SPA/GPA parameter in the PBO event, and whether the SPA/GPA parameter should be filled with the value from the screen in the PAI event.
When an input field is linked to an SPA/GPA parameter, it is initialized with the current value of the parameter each time the screen is displayed. This is the reason why fields on screens in the R/3 System often already contain values when you call them more than once.
When you call programs, you can use SPA/GPA parameters with no additional programming overhead if, for example, you need to fill obligatory fields on the initial screen of the called program. The system simply transfers the values from the parameters into the input fields of the called program.
However, you can control the contents of the parameters from your program by using the SET PARAMETER statement before the actual program call. This technique is particularly useful if you want to skip the initial screen of the called program and that screen contains obligatory fields.
    Reading Data Objects from Memory
To read data objects from ABAP memory into an ABAP program, use the following statement:
    Syntax
    IMPORT <f1> [TO <g 1>] <f 2> [TO <g 2>] ... FROM MEMORY ID <key>.
This statement reads the data objects specified in the list from a cluster in memory. If you do not use the TO <g i > option, the data object <f i > in memory is assigned to the data object in the program with the same name. If you do use the option, the data object <f i > is read from memory into the field <g i >. The name <key> identifies the cluster in memory. It may be up to 32 characters long.
You do not have to read all of the objects stored under a particular name <key>. You can restrict the number of objects by specifying their names. If the memory does not contain any objects under the name <key>, SY-SUBRC is set to 4. If, on the other hand, there is a data cluster in memory with the name <key>, SY-SUBRC is always 0, regardless of whether it contained the data object <f i >. If the cluster does not contain the data object <f i >, the target field remains unchanged.
    Saving Data Objects in Memory
To read data objects from an ABAP program into ABAP memory, use the following statement:
    Syntax
    EXPORT <f1> [FROM <g 1>] <f 2> [FROM <g 2>] ... TO MEMORY ID <key>.
This statement stores the data objects specified in the list as a cluster in memory. If you do not use the option FROM <f i >, the data object <f i > is saved under its own name. If you use the FROM <g i > option, the data objet <g i > is saved under the name <f i >. The name <key> identifies the cluster in memory. It may be up to 32 characters long.

  • Import and Export settings and presets

    Thanks in advance.
Where can I save all the different import and export settings? Like if I just want to export Quicktime with audio and save that setting so I don't have to reset it every time. Thanks

I don't think you can in QT... You can in FCP by selecting CUSTOM as your setting when exporting to QT. Just rename the settings from custom to what you'd like it to be.

  • Help with writing and retrieving data from a table field with type "LCHR"

    Hi Experts,
I need help with writing and reading data from a database table field which has a type of "LCHR". I have given an example of the original code but don't know what to change it to in order to fix it and still read in the original data that's stored in the LCHR field.
Basically we have two Function modules, one that saves list data to a database table and one that reads in this data. Both Function modules have an identicle table which has an array of fields from type INT4, CHAR, and type P. The INT4 field is the first one.
Incidentally this worked in the 4.7 non-unicode system but is now dumping in the new ECC6 Unicode system.
    Thanks in advance,
    C
SAVING THE LIST DATA TO DB
    DATA: L_WA(800).
    LOOP AT T_TAB into L_WA.
    ZDBTAB-DATALEN = STRLEN( L_WA ).
    MOVE: L_WA to ZDBTAB-RAWDATA.
    ZDBTAB-LINENUM = SY-TABIX.
    INSERT ZDBTAB.
    READING THE DATA FROM DB
    DATA: BEGIN OF T_DATA,
                 SEQNR type ZDBTAB-LINENUM,
                 DATA type ZDBTAB-RAWDATA,
               END OF T_TAB.
    Select the data.
SELECT linenum rawdata from ZDBTAB into table T_DATA
         WHERE repid = w_repname
         AND rundate = w_rundate
         ORDER BY linenum.
    Populate calling Internal Table.
    LOOP AT T-DATA.
    APPEND T_DATA to T_TAB.
    ENDLOOP.

    Hi Anuj,
    The unicode flag is active.
When I run our report and then to try and save the list data a dump is happening at the following point
    LOOP AT T_TAB into L_WA.
As I say, T_TAB consists of different fields and field types whereas L_WA is CHAR 800. The dump mentions UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE
When I try to load a saved list the dump is happening at the following point
    APPEND T_DATA-RAWDATA to T_TAB.
T_DATA-RAWDATA is type LCHR and T_TAB consists of different fields and field types.
In both examples the dumps mention UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE

  • When I design with Muse and export as HTML Dreamweaver doesn't attach the style sheets. Any answers?

When I design with Muse and export as HTML Dreamweaver doesn't attach the style sheets when I open the files with Dreamweaver. Essentially when I design with Muse the files don't render the same with Dreamweaver. Is this a bug? Any work arounds?

Then you will have to install a local server and use live view.  It's not that DW isn't rendering it or isn't attaching it, it's that Muse decided to use server-side processing to include it which is ok for a CMS practice when you are combining stylesheets for better caching, but it really isn't ideal for a single style sheet.  This is a shortcoming of Muse and one of the reasons many professionals don't back the product at the moment.  That and you can't actually buy Muse, so unless you are on a subscription you don't have it.  It's trying to fill a void for those who don't want to invest in the professional design tools like Fireworks or Photoshop or Dreamweaver, but want a cross between them to make designs.  If you have invested in the subscription though and want a better way to make layouts I highly recommend coding it yourself and using Fireworks or Photoshop to do the layout for you.  There is an excellent tutorial on the devnet (3 parts) to show you how its done ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/dw_fw_css_pt1.html ).  Once you start using Fireworks or Photoshop you will realize just how limited Muse is in design.

  • Help with count and sum query

Hi I am using oracle 10g. Trying to aggregate duplicate count records. I have so far:
    SELECT 'ST' LEDGER,
    CASE
    WHEN c.Category = 'E' THEN 'Headcount Exempt'
    ELSE 'Headcount Non-Exempt'
    END
    ACCOUNTS,
CASE WHEN a.COMPANY = 'ZEE' THEN 'OH' ELSE 'NA' END MARKET,
    'MARCH_12' AS PERIOD,
    COUNT (a.empl_id) head_count
    FROM essbase.employee_pubinfo a
    LEFT OUTER JOIN MMS_DIST_COPY b
    ON a.cost_ctr = TRIM (b.bu)
    INNER JOIN MMS_GL_PAY_GROUPS c
    ON a.pay_group = c.group_code
    WHERE a.employee_status IN ('A', 'L', 'P', 'S')
    AND FISCAL_YEAR = '2012'
    AND FISCAL_MONTH = 'MARCH'
    GROUP BY a.company,
    b.district,
    a.cost_ctr,
    c.category,
    a.fiscal_month,
    a.fiscal_year;
which gives me same rows with different head_counts. I am trying to combine the same rows as a total (one record). Do I use a subquery?

    Hi,
Whenever you have a problem, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) from all tables involved.
Also post the results you want from that data, and an explanation of how you get those results from that data, with specific examples.
    user610131 wrote:

I am trying to combine the same rows as a total (one record). Do I use a subquery?Maybe. It's more likely that you need a different GROUP BY clause, since the GROUP BY clause determines how many rows of output there will be. I'll be able to say more after you post the sample data, results, and explanation.
You may want both a sub-query and a different GROUP BY clause. For example:
    WITH    got_group_by_columns     AS
         SELECT  a.empl_id
         ,     CASE
                        WHEN  c.category = 'E'
                  THEN  'Headcount Exempt'
                        ELSE  'Headcount Non-Exempt'
                END          AS accounts
         ,       CASE
                        WHEN a.company = 'ZEE'
                        THEN 'OH'
                        ELSE 'NA'
                END          AS market
         FROM              essbase.employee_pubinfo a
         LEFT OUTER JOIN  mms_dist_copy             b  ON   a.cost_ctr     = TRIM (b.bu)
         INNER JOIN       mms_gl_pay_groups        c  ON   a.pay_group      = c.group_code
         WHERE     a.employee_status     IN ('A', 'L', 'P', 'S')
         AND        fiscal_year           = '2012'
         AND        fiscal_month          = 'MARCH'
    SELECT    'ST'               AS ledger
    ,       accounts
    ,       market
    ,       'MARCH_12'          AS period
    ,       COUNT (empl_id)       AS head_count
    FROM       got_group_by_columns
    GROUP BY  accounts
    ,            market
;But that's just a wild guess.
You said you wanted "Help with count and sum". I see the COUNT, but what do you want with SUM? No doubt this will be clearer after you post the sample data and results.

  • Sequence and Capture Settings Match, Still Need To Render

I am capturing my video footage through a AJA Kona board using the SDI input. I have set my capture setting in FCP to 525 29.97 DV, and have set my sequence setting to match, also 525 29.97 DV. Yet when I overwrite the footage to the the sequence it needs to be rendered. I was under the impression that if the sequence and capture settings match I would not have to render. Is this not true?

The orginal footage is not DV, it is DVCPRO 25. I am capturing in the DV setting because of the length of the footage. The DVCPRO deck doesn't have a firewire output.
