Help with Shockwave player reinstall
I recently updated my system (PC, Windows 7, updated to IE 11), and the shockwave player needed to be updated. Tried to do that, but won't work. My system is 64 bit, but the IE 11 running is 32 bit version. Tried numerous ways to update, then I removed and tried to install new, but it still won't work. Help!
BTW, it also messed with my Adobe Reader within some programs, and I had to install a new one, which seemed to work okay.
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro installed on this laptop.
Sorry. you can see I am not familiar with forums.
Here are the screen shots. Though it said installation was successful, and the program is listed in my programs in the control panel, something seems to be preventing it from working. I have used shockwave player many times before, and my computer has had no problem with updates for shockwave player in the past. It was only after I updated other programs on this computer that it wouldn't work.

Help with Plash player 10,3,162,29.
Help with Plash player 10,3,162,29.e
I need some help with Flash Player 10,3,162,29.
I'm able to play youtube videos and most prerecorded videos.
However, with streams in realtime, like news sites, live sporting events and live webcam feeds,
they play fine for about a minute or 2 then the feed just stops (the player does not crash or close or give me an error).
I'm using 64bit Ubuntu 10.10 maverick ,in both KDE & Gnome.
This happens with all browsers I have tried also, from the recent release of Chrome to FireFox4.
I have also tried other versions of flash player with only the same results (even 32bit versions).
I also tried the newest release of flash aid.
I've updated my drivers.
I have also disablded hardware acceleration and also tried it with it enablded.
Nothing seems to work.
Below is a exapmle of a recorded video that stops after about 2 minutes.
I was able to watch the video fine on a 10 year old Toshiba latop running windows 98,
with very little ram.So I know the issue is not on their side...
So,what would cause this issue?
My internet connection is fine & very stable.
The desk top PC I'm on is a 64 bit system less then a year old and has 16GB of ram ,so I know it isnt a resource issue.
Thank you for reading.Hi, I'm sorry that didn't improve things for you. Normally updates have new features and contain improvements as they have had feed back from those testing this beta.
Even tho you have a 64bit system, you need to use the 32bit browser, which I'm sure you are aware of. Just thot I'd mention that.
It sounds as if the streaming is coming down faster than can be handled. Have you tried to pause it to see if that helps? Do you see if it is buffering? I have a radio station I stream to and for some reason it buffers for quite some time, like 5-7 minutes. I have learned just to let it and then it will start working correctly.
I checked that site you linked to and it played fine for me along with the audio. I use XP/SP3 and have the latest Flash Player version using IE.
One thing I noticed is that you are experiencing this with all browsers. This indicates to me that there is something common that is causing a conflict. Since Flash Player works thru the browser, then anything Installed into the browser(s) is either a + or a -. You may want to look into that possibility.
A Setting perhaps needs adjusted.
Have you reviewed the Troubleshooting Guide? I don't know if that would be helpful but there may be something you would see. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/153/tn_15397.html Also a couple of links that may help.

Conflict with Shockwave Player
We have recently begun having a problem with our online multimedia presentations. We currently use Macromedia Director 8.5 and MX for development of these presentations and they contain multiple QuickTime movies.
The problem we have been having is, when our presentation starts, the presentation, shockwave audio, and QuickTime movies all play fine, however, when we finish the presentation go to view another presentation (the next presentation in the series), the Internet browser will unexpectedly crash/close. This only seems to occur when the presentations have QuickTime movies in them, as some of our other presentations, which do not have QuickTime movies in them, do not cause the browser to crash. Also, this crashing of the browser doesn’t seem to be dependent on the operating system (tested on Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Home, and Windows 2000 Pro) or browser (Internet Explorer 6, Firefox, and Netscape), as they all seem to experience the same problem.
We have tested our presentations using a wide variety of different versions of both QuickTime Player and Macromedia Shockwave Player and the only time that we encounter this problem is when QuickTime Player 7 is installed. We have deduced that if we uninstall QuickTime 7 and install QuickTime 6.5 or lower, then our presentations play without any problems.
So a few questions that I have then are, is there some kind of conflict between the latest version of QuickTime and the Shockwave Player? Is this a problem that Applie is aware of and if so, does anyone know how can we resolve this problem. Is there some other possible culprit other than QuickTime that we have been unable to deduce?
Windows 2000It's been some time now, but no one seems to have an answer for my problem, so I thought I would give some more information. The director files use the .dcr extension with external casts using the .cct extenstions. The audio files are swf files that are externally linked (through casts). The videos are quicktime movies (sorenson video).
When you watch the director presentation (with quicktime movies in them) it plays fine, but when you go on to the next presentation (or even try to watch the same presentation again), it crashes the browser. The presentation starts to load, but crashes the browser before it finishes.
Any help out there would be appreciated. -

Need help with flash player installation please !!!!
Hello,
I need help with my flash player installation because every time I access a movie this is the message I receive.
This content on Xfinity TV is not available for viewing with Chrome's "Incognito" mode. To play this video using Chrome, please view this page without "Incognito" mode.
Still having problems? Try resetting your Flash player license.Incognito mode is a Google Chrome setting when you open a new window (Cmd+Shift+N on a Mac Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows) It opens a "private" window with no cookies and no tracking. The problem with it is that when you disable cookies, your license files are not sent to the site (whetehr it's YouTube or xFinity or any other that uses license files for paid content) and it treats you as if you're a first time visitor. Paid videos won't play wihtout the cookies sending the license file info.
This isn't a Flash Player setting. It's in Chrome. I did some research and according to Google, "Incignito" mode is off by default, and can ONLY be activate by the keyboard shortcut. There IS a way to disable it from the registry http://dev.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#IncognitoModeAvailability -
Help with downloading and reinstalling
Will someone please help me download and reinstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 7? I have a new computer and have lost a ton of photos which are supposed to be in Adobe Revel.
if you don't have your installation media/files and use windows and if you follow all 7 steps, you can dl a trial via one of the links on this page: http://prodesigntools.com/direct-download-links-for-lightroom-3-and-photoshop-elements-8.h tml/comment-page-1#comment-2174
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a dl problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps. typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem. -
Help with Flash Player- Not Playing
I recently went to a website where it said that i needed to
download the latest version of Flash Player. I followed the
directions and installed it, and the movie came up after
installation, but on the website it still said i needed to install
flash player again. I went through the other forum posts and tried
everything, but it still wouldn't show up. Then today i was on the
website and finally the video came up, but then when i refreshed
the page the video was gone and it again said i needed to install
the latest version of Flash Player. The video has shown up twice in
the past day, then says i need to reinstall again. I've tried
everything, but the videos just wont show up. Does anyone know how
to fix this for good?JDB... your problems and solutions are different (and much
more complex). Read this CAREFULLY.
Printable, lovingly formatted versions of these steps, valid
as of 9/15/2007 are available. I recommend printing them and
following along with the print version:
.doc:
http://www.supportflash.com/bent/flash_player_ocx_troubleshooting.doc
.pdf:
http://www.supportflash.com/bent/flash_player_ocx_troubleshooting.pdf
The issue is this: You have multiple accounts on your XP
machine. One account plays Flash no problem, the other doesn't,
although both are Administrator accounts. Or possibly you have only
one account, and that account fails to play any Flash content. In
any case if you have ANY odd trouble with the Flash Player ActiveX
control for Windows as of September 2007, these should be your
steps. And yes, you need to do both sets of steps, in order!
The cause: This is usually caused by either or BOTH of the
following problems:
1. Leftover locked bits of an old Flash Player installation
2. Registry permission errors (aka 'ACL's)
OK so what do you do about this?
ONE: Identify possibly leftover Flash player bits
a. Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash folder.
b. Download the latest FP uninstaller from
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157.
c. Run the uninstaller. If you get a notice saying you need
to reboot, then reboot.
d. Look at C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash folder.
e. Does any file ending in .ocx remain? (flash.ocx,
flasha.ocs, flash9d.ocx etc...)
e1. If no, then you don't usually have any leftover locked
bits.
You're done with this part of the problem, proceed to TWO.
e2. If yes, then that remaining .ocx file may be locked.
Right click it
and select properties and look at the version tab.
What is the version number?
f. Is the version number Flash Player 9.0.16.0 or earlier?
f1. Use the uninstaller instructions from this technote:
http://www.adobe.com/go/4da116d3
-- section "Flash Player 9.0.16.0 and earlier"
-- DO NOT re-register the uninstaller. ONLY do this
UninstFl.exe part.
Yes, you'll need to know how to use the command line to do
this. If you're not
comfortable with that then take your machine to someone who
is!
g. Is the version number Flash Player 9.0.28.0 or higher?
g1. Use the uninstaller instructions from this technote:
http://www.adobe.com/go/4da116d3
-- section "Flash Player 9 (9.0.28.0) and later"
-- DO NOT re-register the uninstaller. ONLY do this
UninstFl.exe part.
In both the D and E sections above you'll need to use the
specific name of the control that remains
in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash. So if you had a
stuck flash9b.ocx[DJM1] in the folder
and version was 9.0.28.0, your uninstall command would look
like this:
UninstFl.exe -u
c:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9b.ocx
That said, if you have trouble running these commands it
really is necessary to find someone who knows how
to use the command line, either a friend or a local
professional. Or spend some time learning about the
command line yourself.
h. RERUN the uninstaller you downloaded earlier. This should
get rid of the remaining (now unlocked) .ocx file and fix any
registry keys associated with it.
ALL of section "ONE: Identify possibly leftover Flash player
bits" is important. BUT this locked bit problem only happens on
maybe one out of 50 machines. So most people with installation
problems such as this are not going to have locked bits.
AND even after reinstalling you may still have continued
problems with Flash Player not being recognized.
Then we have to move on to section two..
TWO: Registry Permission Problems
We have been working on Flash Player failures caused by
Windows System Registry issues. We have not been able to determine
what’s causing these permissions to change. But that change
prevents the successful installation of Flash Player ActiveX
control (used by IE Windows).
Registry permission problems can be resolved using a tool
called SubInACL, built by Microsoft to correct system registry
issues.
Symptoms: What to look for:
1. If you install Flash Player on IE and are unable to see
Flash content on any webpage
2. After installation C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
will have flash 9c.ocx in it but it failed to register
3. It appears that Flash Player installed correctly, but
unable to view Flash content
4. Flash Player works on other browsers, but NOT Internet
Explorer
5. If you are missing groups in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT Advanced
Permissions
6. If you have run registry cleaners in the past, this may
have corrupted your system
Warning: The following solution involves the Windows System
Registry. Editing or manipulating the registry incorrectly can
result in serious system damage which may require re-installation
of the operating system. If you are not comfortable editing the
registry, then take your system to a professional. If you choose to
proceed, then it is essential that you create a complete system
backup and a Windows System Restore Point before proceeding. Adobe
Systems cannot be held responsible for damage resulting from this
information.
1. Select Start > Run
2. Type in “regedit”
3. Right click on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
4. Select Permissions
5. Select Advanced
For Vista
Compare your permissions with the ones in this screenshot.
http://www.supportflash.com/vista_key.png
For Window XP Pro or other flavors of XP
Compare your permissions with the ones in this document
“Troubleshooting system registry issues that prevent Flash
Player installation” (scroll down to the bottom of page).
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=kb400116
Notice any major differences, missing groups, incorrect
permissions?
How can you repair the System Registry, what's the fix
Download SubInACL from Microsoft to fix permission issues
that prevent the Flash Player Installation.
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=fb1634cb
NOTE: The Microsoft version of the .cmd script run by
SubInACL is not be run on any XP version other than Pro. HOWEVER,
the Adobe .cmd script in the above technote is tested safe for ALL
VERSIONS OF XP!!!
If you have a Windows System Registry permission issue that
sounds like the one described above, SubINACL may be the solution.
Please note that if you have this issue on multiple accounts on one
machine you’ll need to fix each machine individually. -

LEASE HELP WITH FLASH PLAYER 9.0
I have tried and tried and tried and I cannot no matter what
I do download flash player. I have googled it and searched and I
cannot fix this. I cant view websites and my computer is constantly
freezing because a box comes up telling me that it doesnt work.
Well duh... Please help me I don't know what else to do??? By the
way I have dont everything that the support website suggests
atleast twice maybe three times and as I said I googled it so I
tried other things also. HELP!!> He is using stopAllSounds to stop sounds that are in
seperate swfs on an html page. I tested it, and it does not work.
In my
> tests
> I put 3 swfs on an html page (not loaded into each
other). On the third swf I have the stopAllSounds command. It stops
only it's
> own sound in the third swf but has no effect on one.swf
and two.swf's sound.
> The thing is I don't know if stopAllSounds ever worked
across separated swfs before in players before version 9.
> tralfaz
I have confirmed his complaint. stopAllSounds works correctly
across multiple swfs on an html page using Flash player 8 but not
with Flash Player 9.
Incidentally, there is another big "improvement" (they say)
that prevents you from uninstalling the Flash 9 player without
running
their uninstaller exe. Unfortunately, their uninstaller
uninstalls all flash player versions (not just version 9) from ALL
browsers
so if just want to remove player 9 from IE you are forced to
also uninstall it from FireFox etc as well. Great, huh?

I have been having problems with this for months and still no help. PLEASE HELP.
I am using Windows Vista and firefox is my Browser. When I go to download it instead of Run File it only gives me a option to Save or Cancel File. When I load flash objects, it gives me a greyed out box that says Movie Not Loaded and Adobe Flash Player. If you have had any help with this please don't hesitate to help. I am trying all suggestions until I get this fixed.
Thanks in AdvanceI am having the exact same issue! I have tried everything,
including the link

I still get the message that I must download flash. The weird thing
is, one of the 5 user accounts (all computer administrators)
on our family pc has no problem with flash working, but the
other 4 do not work. I have tried adjusting the security settings,
but nothing has worked. Did anything end up working out for

I need some help with Flash Player. I have to constantly reinstall it on my computer.
Can someone please help me with this??
Pat, I have a Dell XPS Computer using Windows 7. I have had it for a little over a year and had no problems what so ever. Now all of a sudden my Flash Player has to be reinstall at least once every day if not more to work, but it does work great after it's reinstalled for as long as it will last. It does work fine when I use Google Chrome and I never have a problem there. I have uninstalled all of my Adobe products and reinstalled them but it did not help. I run Malware Bytes at least once a week and use System Mechanic every day and neither has found any problems with my system. I am not a tech but I am not a novis either. Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks
