HELP WITH SPRY TABBED PANEL -

On one page I created a spry-tabbed panel with a distinctive look.
On another page, same website, I created another spry tabbed panel with its own distinctive look, its own color scheme.
On doing the second page I discovered I was also inadvertantly changing the color, boarders etc to the spry tabbed panel on my first page.
Don't want to do that.
How do I create a spry panel on 2 different pages within the same web site and let each have its own independent spry set of attributes

Hi Ken:
When I insert a new spry panel it appears with all the css from the other page.
When I began to make changes the other page reflexs those changes.
Don't know how to get a separate SpryCss sheet. Do you?

  • Help Using Spry tabbed panel as a menu.

    Thanks in advance to all who take the time to read and any assistance you can offer.
    I'm picking up where someone else started a website. They used Spry tabbed panels as a menu system (CS4). Each Panel is a top-level "menu" and when it opens, sub-menus (hyperlinks) come up vertically under the panel.  I REALLY don't want to start over if I don't have to - need the site up and running - but cannot figure out how to make the "HOME" tabbed panel (the first one) actually take users back to the home page.  For now, I've created a "submenu" (link) under HOME tabbed panel to help the user navigate back to the home page.
    HELP?
    http://www.orange.k12.nc.us/ec/beta/default.html

    Thank you Gramps - for your prompt and helpful response!  Your solution absolutely fixed the problem I asked about.
    If I had followed forum advisories and asked the question correctly, the navigation on this website would probably be working perfectly by now. Your solution fixes the home page.  Can you look at one more page and advise please??
    On the "subpages" of this site, the same tabbed panel "fake menu" exists.  I replaced the equivalent line of code in the template for those pages (at line 45) with what you gave me.  I'm obviously missing something in the code to send the user back to the HOME page from these pages.
    In the sample link below, you will be starting from a "subpage" of the site.  Clicking on the "HOME" tab leads you not to the actual home page (default.html in the root directory) but to a default.html page within the subdirectory for the page you are on (which doesn't exist.)  Can I add something to that line of code to get them back to the home page?
    Again... thank you!!

  • Help! Spry Tabbed Panels

    Hi,
    I have a problem with my spry tabbed panels. The default tab
    is set to be the 1st tab, when I move to 2nd tab and navigate
    through the content, as the page refreshes, and before it is fully
    loaded it shows the content of the first tab for about 20 seconds
    or so....then the page finally goes to the desired content on the
    2nd tab....
    How can I make it so this does not happen and it looks like a
    smooth transition as I navigate through my pages?
    Thanks,
    Brandan98

    I think that's the way Spry is programmed. Have you tried
    posting on the
    Spry forum? That might elicit more knowledgeable help.

  • Need help linking spry tabbed panel from external page

    Could use some help.  I need to link to a specific spry tabbed panel on page "A" from a link on page "B"  I have tried several "solutions" on the web and had no luck.  When I add the code needed at the bottom of the code where you initiate the instance, it stacks the content of ALL panels in the first panel, and renders the tabs inoperable.  This is a key feature I need in a new site being developed.

    Have you tried http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/spry_url_utils.php ?

    Depending on what the code looks like, it can do all sorts of things.
    Please be reminded that the best way for us to help you is by you supplying a link to your site with a one sentence description of the problem.

  • Validation Errors with Spry tabbed panels with doctype XHTML 1.0 Strict

    I'm getting errors while using the W3C Validation Service on my Strict XHTML 1.0 pages that use the SPRY Tabbed Panels.  I've read a few places that W3C has no plans on 'fixing or relaxing" the restrictions. Is there any type of work around to the Spry Widget Tab panels code ??? All of my other pages validate nicely... hate to go back to Transitional afterconverting all my other code.
    The DreamWeaver File validation also gives me errors but I think that is fed from W3C.

  • Problem with Spry Tabbed Panels and Mac Safari

    On a site I'm working on I have implemented Spry Tabbed
    Panels. Everything was great until my boss looked at it on his Mac
    Safari. Spry doesn't seem to honor the 100% width, and cuts it off.
    I have looked at the CSS and don't see what is holding it up.
    Here is
    a link to a screenshot.
    The CSS that defines the width is attached.
    Can anyone help? Thanks!

    Wow, so I am the only one that has ever used Spry that
    doesn't work in Safari? I find that hard to believe.
    So let me twist this another way. Does anyone know why a div
    does not stretch 100% of it's parent in Safari?

  • Contact form with Spry 'Tabbed Panels' and 'Validation TextField'

    Hello
    I am considering making a form using Spry tabbed panels (as step 1, step 2, etc.) and the form validation to process name, email, address, credit-card, accept terms and conditions, etc.
    This is instead of a multi-page form, because there could be security flaws there (i.e. passing sensitive information from one page to the next) and it would take longer for the user - needing to open each page, etc. where this is to be used as a buy form (for a single product), sort of like one-click order (but not exactly).
    Overall, it seems like a good idea, someone else has tried it, but I do have some questions that haven't been covered there - relevant for anyone that'd ever want to do this with Spry - that didn't come up there:
    1. Will it degrade gracefully, and still work? For example, when you turn JavaScript, CSS, images, and other things off?
    2. Is it possible to go from Step-to-Step (using the top tabs, or 'Submit' and 'Back' buttons added on the bottom) without entering all of the required information? Because I would like to disable this - perhaps also have the future Steps grayed out and un-clickable.
    3. Is it safe to use this form to enter credit card details, and then email those to the website's account? I am new to SSL, so I'm not sure if I could implement some security feature here? Where should I look?
    4. Does it load the page fast, despite having multiple steps all pre-loaded? Can we make subsequent steps require some 'loading' (without refreshing the page)?
    5. If it doesn't do either of these, how could we make it do that?
    I hope to hear from you!

    Please post links directly to the page having an issue. I saw
    no tabs on the home page, but I noticed that there is a link on the
    bottom of the page to this page that has a Spry tab on it:

    That page refers to a Spry JavaScript file and a Spry CSS
    file, which should be at the following locations but are not
    present:
    http://www.so-nouveau.com/SpryAssets/SpryTabbedPanels.js
    http://www.so-nouveau.com/SpryAssets/SpryTabbedPanels.css
    Make sure you upload the SpryAssests folder and see where
    you're at after that.

  • Need help with spry collapsible panel (menu)

    I learn as I go when I created my website http://www.invitation-fascination.com/shapes.html and so far I've created a page with 13 spry collapsible panels- I think it came out pretty well.  Now this is what I want to add to the page:
    I want to create a selector (drop down) menu above the panels with the option to select any one of the 13 panels.
    Once selected it will move directly to that panel and open it.
    I've tried the piselect thing and with the "open" and "close" button that will programatically open the panels, but what I want is for the panel to be selected from the menu and then the page goes directly to that panel and it then opens.
    Is there a way this can be done?  Please help
    I'm really not that good at this stuff- please be easy with your response- thank you

  • Need help with Spry Collapsible panels

    I'm fairly inexperienced with Dreamweaver (CS4) and especially new to the Spry feature, so bear with me... I need all the help I can get! I've inserted six Spry collapsible panels to an HTML page and uploaded everything (including SpryCollapsiblePanel.css and SpryCollapsiblePanel.js), but they're automatically displaying as open and I can't click on them or close them. I'd like them to be closed until selected and opened.
    What am I doing wrong?

  • Problem with Spry Tabbed Panels with Explorer 6

    I've used Tabbed panels all over my site, and they seemed to work fine in FireFox, Safari, Explorer 7 and 8, etc. but today i checked out Explorer 6 in BrowserLab, after someone said our site looked weird.
    In EX 6 it certainly does: all the tabbed panels are preceded by about a screen's worth of empty space!
    I'd appreciate it someone could have a look at this and see if they can tell what's going on:
    See this page:
    http://www.ragandbone.ca/Pages/willows.html
    or almost any ohter page on the site!
    I'm very far from experienced in web work, so I might need step by step instructions for any fix suggested.
    Thanks in advance
    John

    Hi, John,
    Make the width of the .TabbedPanels narrower. In the course of my experiments, I ended up making it 580px, which works in IE6, according to BrowserLab. You had a simple width overrun; your widths + borders+ paddings + margins (within the content div) added up to more than the width available. You might be able to get away with slightly more width, but test it carefully when you start to add it back in...
    This might be an instance of the "doubled margin bug" (see http://www.positioniseverything.net/explorer/doubled-margin.html).
    I changed the margin on .TabbedPanels to margin: 0 auto; so that any effective centering that had been done by 'filling' the width previously was now achieved by the margin-right and margin-left set to "auto." (The zero applies to top and bottom margin.)
    I deleted the left: -40px; that you had applied to .TabbedPanelsTab and zeroed out the  right padding on .content ul, .content ol {
    padding: 0 15px 15px 0; that your threeColFixHF_RB.css had applied to all ul in the site. This might or might not actually affect anything if you don't make these same changes, but I had altered them in the course of figuring out what was going on. It's never a good policy, in my opinion, to use negative margin if you can simply correct both elements, as I did. You don't want to be progressively compensating for things you don't need anyway!

    Spry.Utils.getURLHashParamsAsObject
    Spry.Utils.getURLParamsAsObject
    In my form tag in panel one I've using:

    The trick of this is that you really want your action to be a
    submission using ajax, not an html submit, which would refresh your
    page. Your best bet would be to call a function that submits the
    current form, as well as pushing on to the next tab.
    A little more illumination on exactly how to do that please?

  • Spry Tabbed Panels overwritting Flash drop down menu in IE

    I am having an issue with Spry Tabbed Panels appearing above
    a Flash drop down menu in IE6 & IE7 but it works fine in
    Firefox. Would someone be able to educate me on what I can do to
    fix this problem. The page that is exhibiting this problem is
    http://us.shuttle.com/performance.aspx
    I’ve tried adding “WMODE” to my flash menu,
    also updated “SpryTabbedPanels.js to version 0.5 –
    pre-release 1.6”, but neither way is
    helping…….

    Thank you very much for the suggestion. Yes, this is how I
    tried:
    .TabbedPanels {
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 0px;
    float: left;
    clear: none;
    width: 100%;
    z-index: 1000;
    I’ve been tried setting Z-index to from 50 to 2000 in
    attached css, but still not working.
