HELP WITH SUBFOLDERS ACCESS IN ORACLE PORTAL....

Hi, all im a user of Oracle Portal and when I create a Folder called ROOT with access to group 1 and 2, y create subfolders C, and D, C and D has the same privileges than A and B, but if i add F, G,H,I,J,K,L,ETC, and before that I add a new group to ROOT CALLED 3, THE SUBFOLDERS DOESN'T inherit the same access than the root, they has only the access that was granted when I create that folder.
There is some way to recreate the access to all the subfolders once they was created without doing it folder per folder?.

We implemented SSL for Windows NT and created our own install instructions that we gathered from various sources (a combination of the Oracle Portal Configuration Guide, tech notes from Metalink, and discussion forums from OTN). It was not a simple task for us.

You can find in knowledge exchange a script to create an flash file item type. With this installed you can add a flash file to an item region on a page.

Fusion Apps web service call fails with error access denied (oracle.wsm.security.WSFunctionPermission)

Hello Guru,
I am trying to call a supplier service from SOA/OSB.
But while calling the service it is failing with the below error message
access denied (oracle.wsm.security.WSFunctionPermission http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/prc/poz/suppliers/supplierService/SupplierService#getSupplierVO invoke)
As per OER cookbook i have attached the "oracle/wss_username_token_client_policy" to the Fusion apps web service.
I am trying to pass security credentials to the service by using all the methods... through composite ..through bpel through wsse header but in all cases i am getting similar error.
Please let me know if some one has called the fusion apps web service to create a supplier of solution to my problem as mentioned above.

I mean the theory what I built on this Authorization/Permission is that:
For the resource - WebService (SupplierService), there is an assigned application role for which the Entitlement/Permission is provided.
Pls. help me in the below items:
a. What is the application role(in role hierarchy) assigned to this resource(Webservice). Which page I need to check(navigation) this and the required credentials..
b. What is the Entitlement provided for this application role for this operation (getSupplierVO) invoke.. Which page I need to check(navigation) this and the required credentials..

I started test this webservice from EM (Test Web Service)
But while calling the service it is failing with the below error message

Retrieving the userid's that are accessing the Oracle Portal

We are using Oracle Discoverer Portal 10g and are looking at the option of finding out how many and which users are accessing this portal and for how long? Is there anyway of retrieving this information.

Problems with Macromedia Extension for Oracle Portal

Iâm learning about Oracle portal 10g(3.0.4). I'm having some problems about Oracle portal. Please help me as soon as possible.
I created an Web Template using Dreamweaver MX 2004, and IÂ´m tring to send this template to Oracle Portal through dreamweaver webservice (dreamweaver_webservice.zip) using Dreamweaver extension (dreamweaver_extension.zip) but when I try to connect using the extension to send my template I get Invalid Login message (I tried all possible passwords and logins for Oracle Portal and OracleAS). Please Help!

Mac OS X help with share access on a windows 2003 server

Hello everyone
I am not too familiar with Mac OS X (Darwin) and so on and need a little help.
We recently got a new windows 2003 standard server and I want to move my files to there so they get backed up and so on. I am able to access shares on the pc's on our network but when I try to access the server from finder i just get a box pop up saysing do you want to fix or delete the alias.
When I try to access it via a terminal, because I am a bit more ok with the cmd line thanks to my linux capabilities, I get the following error:
mount_smbfs: tree connect phase failed: syserr = Permission denied
when i try:
mount_smbfs //dan:[email protected]/General\ Files /BB-SERVER/General\ Files
Is there anybody that has experienced this before and that can help me resolve this.

Your specs below your post suggest 10.0.x which was barely a beta version of Mac OS X. This will surely help those who are seeing your topic and trying to help.

so it seems that struts forward in oracle have to be only text/html files
but i don't wanto to go tio another page, just download a file on the same page
after some control in my action.

I am new to Java and stuck at a problem. Situation is like following-

}Now my problem is when I try to access p from func2(), I am getting a NullPointerException error. I am not initialising p anywhere through D()'s and B()'s no argument constructor. Is that the problem?

When you post code it doesn't help when the code doesn't actually reflect the problem.
The code you posted isn't legal java so given that it won't even compile you certainly can't get a null pointer exception from that. And where you commented the usage of 'p' you can't use it there so that doesn't help with guessing what you actual code might have looked like.
So all I can do is offer the following general advice.
Null pointer exceptions occur because a reference is null and it is de-referenced.. Thus if you do a line like the following.
xxx.p
Then 'xxx' is the only possible thing that can be null.
The stack trace of the exception will tell you the exact line that the problem occurred on.

Need help with session sharing in WebCenter Portal

Hi, How can I share session between a WebCenter Portal application and the portlets it is consuming?
Basically I want this for authentication. In the portal framework application, I'm setting a user object in the session, How can I get the object in a portlet?

Hi gurus
Coming from the OracleAS Portal world one of the first things I look for are templates. But there doesn't seem to be any?!?! The templates I can find resembles HTML Templates from the Portal world. Can this be true?
To be very specific: How do I reuse a component from one page to the other? Do I really have to add the component to each page? And what if I have several components - on a number of pages - and want to rearrange them? Do I really have to do that on each page?
Can anyone shed some over this?

I would suggest you look at the manual and example applications before you jump into developing APEX applications..
For Example, if you need a set of controls and regions for all pages in your application, you can create a page 0, and all the items from it will be inherited by your other application pages..

Help with outer joins in Oracle!!

so far this is what i've come up with and the code below does not work. Can anyone please help me on how the sytanx of left joins and how to use multiple left joins in a single query in oracle?
SELECT a.*, b.Position_CD, c.Skill_CD, d.Team_Name, d.Team_Country, d.Club, e.Structure_Name
FROM Roster a, Roster_position b, roster_skill c, Team d, Team_Structure e
where (a.Roster_ID = ((b.Roster_ID= c.Roster_Id(+)) b.roster_id(+)).......
I dont' know how to add more left joins!
Here is the query I'm trying to duplicate (which is a query from Ms Access databaase which works fine).

Here's my best guess - and it seems to me that it should work as there are not two outer joins between any two tables. I hope I decoded your joins correctly - quite a mess that Access syntax!

As an architect-dude, it seems to me that you have a serious
modeling problem to need so many outer joins in such a basic
grab of data. In any scale other than minute, the performance
of this model will suffer dramatically. Specifically, why can't
ROSTER have an equijoin with TEAM and with TEAM_STRUCTURE - as they
appear to be lookup tables...

Schema procedures access in oracle portal

Hi
I have created a procedure under my schema and grant execute access to portal user. However, when I tried to execute the procedure from a report as portal user, it said procedure not found.
When I created the same procedure under portal_public schema and the report works! Why is this so when I have already granted the right access? Please advice. Thanks!

First of all you need to create a schema for your Portal Application. Once that is done you will need to run in a DBA script called provsyns.sql so that this schema can execute and view the Portal core objects.
This script is located in $9ias_ORACLE_HOME/portal30/admin/plsql/wwc
Run this script as PORTAL30 with one parameter, this being the name of your new schema.
Then your next step would be to set up all the necessary grants and synonyms so that the objects you wish to view over the gateway can be viewed from your application schema.
Then you are ready to create an application in Portal via Navigator --> Applications.
Choose the new schema as the Application schema (this is where all the Portal generated code gets compiled) and try creating a simple Report component to see if your non-portal components are set up properly.
