Help with T430 screen resolution

I would like to purchase a T430 with 1600x900 screen resolution as recommended in the reviews. However, I am concerned about whether I will be able to read text at that resolution. (This was an issue with the higher resolution when I purchased my beloved T400.) I cannot find a T430 in my area to look at before purchase. So, I am wondering whether some kind soul might be willing to post a screenshot of the desktop (with icons on it) of their T430 1600x900. Viewed at the original size, I should be able to determine from that image whether it will be legible, right?

There are no stores in my area that carry the T430. I would have to travel 3 hours to see one. But if the screenshot would not tell me what I need to know, maybe I will need to do just that.
I didn't say a ThinkPad.  Any computer with a 14" screen running 1600x900 natively will give you some idea if that resolution is going to be acceptable.
If the closest computer store is 3 hours, it probably isn't worth doing.  6 hours round trip is a lot of time and hassle.

    hello i have recently designed this website and the formatting isnt correct when veiwed with different screen resolutions
    Just so you'll know, and to keep the thread clear, resolution has nothing to do with how your page renders or is formatted.  A given page will look exactly the same on any resolution screen provided you keep the browser width the same pixel value.  It's the variation in that width from one resolution screen to another that causes the difference.  And yes, it's the fact that you have used absolute positioning as a primary layout method that is the problem for the reason that JTANNA has already mentioned.
    Now - how do you want your page to behave?  Do you want it to be fixed width and centered (that would be the easiest).  In that case, change this -
    <body>
    to this -
    <body>
      <div style="width:928px;margin:0 auto;position:relative">
    and this -
    </body>
    to this -
    </div>
    </body>
    Now, reposition all of your AP containers so that the page is again aligned the way you want, and you're done.

  • Macbook Pro late 2013 - problem with login screen resolution

    Hi,
    I've got problem with login screen resolution, after upgrade to Yosemite. I use the 4rd resolution (last one) on my Mac Pro (late 2013), and after restart login screen is always on optimum mode... But it's only about the login screen.
    Do you know how can I fix it? I would like to have the same resolution on every screen.
    thx in advance

    I  Reformatted the CF card  on the new computer   it works fine now on the new Mac Pro
    Interesting point about  the low power  of the usb ports   I had to deal with all devices ejecting them selves  when the mac pro  was idle or slept  Drobo needed a Firmware update and another drives  needed  me  to change the sleep setting  or the Mac Pro   to never and  i also  had to deploy a  script to write to each device  ever minute,   this  kind  of sold the problem  with external Hard drives.   I wonder if the lowering  power  to a CF card   can eject  it  in a manor  which would make the  computer  think it is corrupt.
    I have looked at  buying a power usb Hub    but seems only one or two  of the ports are powered.
    Seems to be a bit problem with the mac pro especially  as everything has to be connected externally
    Will assume the Firewire Connector does not work.

  • Same object size (front panel) with different screen resolution

    Hi everybody,
    I realised an application, and I try to instal it on various computer. The probleme is that they haven't the same screen resolution, so the front panel is not the same on each computer. It is possible to build an application which have the same front panel with different screen resolution ?
    Kriss.

    Hi Krisss,
    switch off any "adapt to screen resolution" switches in the VI properties...
    You should also define "same front panel" and "same object size"! Do you mean the same pixel size or size in mm or size in percent of screen?

  • URGENT: How to fix an application with the screen resolution?

    HI everyone,
    I am desprate and need help.. I have developed an application with Java swing and awt (JFrames, JPanels and...). This application displays perfectly with 1280 x 1024 screen resolution but in a situation where the screen does not support this resolution, a part of my application will not appear. I can not even scroll down to see the reste of the components. Does any one has any idea that how I can resolve this problem! I mean how either I can make my JFrame or panel to scroll down or to change the size of the components according to the resolution!
    Thank you very much and wait for a reply :)

    One of the possible reason of the problem is you must have hardcoded the size of panels and other container that is just right for the screen resolution 1280 x 1024.
    The solution is set the size of the containers that depends on the resolution of the screen.
    You have not explained much detail about the scrolling problem. But I suppose that you have a scrollpane in you GUI and you want to scroll the component inside it even at another resolution.
    try using this
    if p is the panel that is added in the scrollpane then set its prefered size.
    p.setPreferredSize(resolution dependant size).

  • Store a URL with given screen resolution

    I need to Save the web page with the GIVEN screen resolution in my local machine.
    The input i receive are URL and the screen resolution parameters.
    I figured that i can extract data from the URL by using the *URL Class and
    using readers* Now i have the data ,i am not sure how to store the data with the
    given screen resolution?? Any help would be greatly appreciated?
    Thnak you

    Do you think i should use applet to render the page
    first and then use the robot class to "Capture" the
    page. Thank you once againIf you want to convert HTML into an image, you are going to need something which renders HTML. Since you are asking on this forum, I'm assuming you want to use Java to do it. You could use a JTextPane, but it doesn't display HTML 2 very well. There are third party components which do it better. If you used some Java component, you wouldn't have to display the page, you could get it's graphics object and create and image, then save it too a file.
    To display a browser or take a snapshot of it with the robot class, your applet is going to have to be signed. Since you haven't given me any information about what it is you are trying to accomplish, I'm not sure any of this is relevant.

  • Need help with full screen slideshow image quality

    I am looking to display some images with full screen slideshow. The images I add are very large, over 5000 wide. When I publish the site some images retain their quality while others lose it and look like crap. Why would this be and how can I fix it. I tried to resize them to the 2560x1707 that muse does, and then add them. This doesn't change the end result of poor quality.

    Go to Assets Panel and locate the image you want to use at original size. Right click the image and chose 'Import Larger Size'.
    See if that helps retain quality for that image, since Muse does not resize/interpolate that image for you.

  • Help with correcting screen PPI/DPI???

    I just got a new 20 inch iMac. The screen resolution is at full, so the ppi (DPI?) is like 98 or 96 or something, but it seems like the computer thinks it is at 72! This is bad, because in Word, the page is too small when I set it to 100% (I have to set it to 136 percent to get it right), G-Ruler is not showing the right inches size, and there are similar problems with other programs. How do I tell the computer what the PPI should be? Is there something I can download to fix this, or is there some admin setting I haven't noticed?

  • Mac user needs help with photoshop screen and tool bar

    Hello when I open photoshop I get the screen you can see to the left. The right hand tool bar has disapeard, if you scroll across it comes into view, I want to be able to open photoshop as I could originally with the screen the size of the computer screen and the tool bar in place. What is also happening is that when I select the image i want, the image goes directly on to the screen and does not go to the tool bar above, again I would like to have the images going to the tool bar so I can select them and put them on a blank page. The same happens when I open up a blank page it does not store it in the tool bar but opens it up directly on to sreen. Hope you can help.

    Thanks also tried that it does hangs the screen back to how it was but the background is now my screen saver with the photoshop tool bars around. But the docking area is still not visible and when I open a file it opens it as sep screen and layer and not as part of docking station? Very strange

  • Wire Aligment with Different Screen Resolutions

    I've noticed that block diagram wire positions/alignments can change, sometimes significantly, in moving to monitors with different resolutions.  There's a ton of information about maintaining proportions on the front panel as resolution changes, but I can't find how to mitigate the issue with wires on the block diagram.  Does anybody know how best to handle this?
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I've never noticed the block diagram change due to screen resolutions.  I have seen issues like this when changing system fonts.  For instance, going from XP to Win7 meant going to Aero font, which is a bigger font than whatever XP used for its default system font.

  • How can I make my website compatible with different screen resolutions?

    Here is the page that I'm struggling with:
    http://www.starbuckscollect.com/2013.html
    Everything is pinned to the top and center pin except for the cards.
    My problem is on certain screen resolutions that are not 'wide screen' you are not able to see all of the cards when you scroll down. Some of you may not see my problem when you open up the page which is good. For you guys, the way to see my problem is to 'zoom out' of the screen and to do that press 'ctrl' and '-'
    Is there any way of avoiding this?

  • Not clear images with lower screen resolutions on Tecra M5

    Hi,
    we have some M5s with Intel graphics board which work fine with the usual 1024*768 screen resolution.
    Now we are buying some new M5s equipped with nVidia Quadro, and they seem to have a native resolution of 1400*1050.
    If I try to scale resolution to 1024*768 or even 1280*1024, images are badly out of focus. But I think icons at 1400*1050 on a 14" display are really too small, for the average of users.
    No solution?
    thanks

    This is to do with the native resolution of the LCD. Unless you display at maximum resolution, any attempt to work at a lower resolution will require the graphics card to rescale, causing the resultant image to blur as the graphics card interpolates.
    The only solution is to use Windows Vista because the GUI has been designed for larger native LCD resolutions, meaning the icons are designed bigger (approx. twice the size of XP)

  • Photoshop RAW processing with different screen resolutions

    Hi, I know this might not be fully a photoshop question, but I have done so many searches online & am unable to find anything.
    I usually do RAW photo editing on photoshop on my old Fujitsu laptop & have recently I have upgraded to a MacBook Pro. I have noticed that when I do the same kind of processing on my Macbook, the photos tend to not be as dark & have contrast as I would normally like it to be.
    Meaning to say, photos that look really dark in on my Macbook look rather greyed & washed out on my Fujitsu, however the photos I have processed on my Fujitsu all look nicely exposed on my Macbook.
    So is this due to different screen resolutions? Because the photos I have edited on my mac look really different when compared to on my fujitsu, like the colours etc. Please do advise me on what exactly is the problem & what I can do to solve it. Thanks!

    It all depends on the colour range, brightness, and contrast of the screen, and the screen technology. The only way to make somewhat sure that the colours are "correct" and consistent is to purchase a hardware screen calibration device, like a spyder. But even then the laptop screens tend to be quite bad for this type of work.

  • How to get reasonable font size with higher screen resolution

    I'm using my new Mac Mini as living room PC with 42" plasma screen and tv itself seems to support quite well the 'better' resolutions like 1024x768. Unfortunately then text is too small to read from sofa (which is about 3 meters away from tv). I have switched back to 800x600 resolution where font sizes are almost ok but many programs complaint about the resolution (e.g. Google Earth) and need to change the resolution back and worth to get some OK button pressed which is glumsy.
    I have also found pretty good Tinkertool to finetune font sizes but it does not affect all font sizes like I want. So question is there any better solution how I could find theme that suites better for living room purpose (have not find any theme possibilities for MacOSX). In Linux I could finetune X fontserver, in WIndows I could fine tune the theme used to have bigger fonts, how do I do it in this cool mac?

    I hear you! I would also like to see an answer for this. I am running Leopard on a Mac Mini on my 50 inch display in the living room. I have set the resolution to 1080p so that the video and photos are as sharp as possible. (man the videos look great)...
    But, I have a very hard time reading the menu bar, as well as safari and mail from this machine. I realize that there are ways to increase the font sizes, but:
    1) when I restart safari, I have to change the settings each time
    2) when I restart mail, I have have to change the setting each time
    3) I cannot figure out a way to make the menu bar larger
    I really don't want to bring the mac mini down to a resolution like 800X600 - I think it would look horrible on the large screen.
    What is a big screen lover to do?
    Any help would be most appreciated...
    Cheers!
