Help with text box rasterization in adobe muse
When ever I create a text box, add some text , highlight the text and try and create it into a hyperlink, it says that the text requires rasterization and that the hyperlink will not work.
How do I 'rasterize' the text box which will allow me to convert the text within, into a hyperlink?
For some reason in the new MUSE it wont let me add an email address for example:
mailto:[email protected]
says it is not supported yet?

Can somebody help me wit hmy problem. I have a fom with many tables in it, some cells of the table are text boxes or at least they were when I developed it. Now I need to edit some of the cells and for some reason I cannot do it as the cell is not a text box but became (untitled<draw>) I cannot change its type back to text. I have a preference for Javascript (just get in the syntax zone) and use it for most things (except dates).
As you know:
this = current object
rawValue = accesses the value of object
From an Excel point of view FormCalc is similar and has inbuilt function like sum(), Max(), etc. Syntax is $ for current object and you don't need the rawValue. This is very handy when summing a column in a repeating table. Also FormCalc is excellent for working with time and dates. (not that you can't work around in Javascript, but it is heavier).
Adobe have a very good reference for FormCalc at http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_lc_formCalc_82 and I would recommend that to you. I think it comes from the LC help file, but is easier to use.
From a performance point of view, you can either have FormCalc in the calculate event of an object, which looks back at other fields (this will fire each time one of these fields changes). Alternatively you can have the FormCalc in the exit event of a field, which pushes a calculation/value forward to another object.
Functions are handy if you have a script that you are using several times in a form. You write the script in a "script variable" and then call it in the objects events. HOWEVER, script variables are available in Javascript only.
One last thing is that if you have a constant (like VAT), then rather than including "* 0.21" in all of your calculations, use a global variable in the Form / Properties / Variables tab. currentVat = 0.21. Then in your calculations would be "* currentVat.value". If the VAT rate changes then you only have to change it in one location.
In summary FormCalc is more akin to Excel; just watch the syntax.

Ok let me elaborate this problem little more.
I want to show my text box as it is in normal editors e.g. In Matlab editor. There is a text box and on left side the gray bar shows the line numbers corresponding to the text. Further more i want that the user should be able to click on any line number to mark specific line as breakpoint (red circle or any graphical indication for mark).

I created a 5x7 postcard document in Word with text boxes and graphics. When I converted it to PDF, some of the items were missing, even though they were in the boundaries of the page and looked fine on the Word document. What happened, and how do I fix it? I'm trying to upload the PDF version to Vistaprint. Thanks.
Reader doesn’t create pdf files. You can use Acrobat (ask in that forum) to create pdfs. You can subscribe to the Adobe PDF Pack which has a create pdf functionality (please ask in that forum), or you can use a third party utility such as ghostscript, cutepdf, or Microsoft’s own PDF creation capability. For third party pdf creation you will need to ask in a forum dedicated to that software as fellow users of Reader are unlikely to have the knowledge to help.

Issue with 'text box' in rtf sub template for peoplesoft XMLP

i have a weired problem using 'text Box' in a sub template. I am calling a sub template from my template. In my Sub template i have a text box ( i am using text box bcoz i want to justify the text not to the page margin but starting from a specific column.not sure if there is any other way with which i can do the same !!) . It works fine when i remove the text box from my sub template. I tried to put the text box directly in the main template and it worked fine !! it is erroring out only when i use the text box in sub template !!

i got the below error when i tried to 'preview' the report from my report definition.

Error With Text Boxes in Acrobat 9 Pro
I have a number of 9 Pro installs that are experiencing problems with text boxes. The will enter text then attempt to save the changes and Acrobat will crash. Other errors we have been receiving are "invalid annotation object" and "R6025 pure virtual function call" any advice would be appreciated.
In the properties of the callout comment you can change the fill color.

You don't need to install the older version, you only need the serial number from your original purchase. If you don't have them to hand, did you register? If so, they should be in your Adobe account. If not you really need to contact Adobe, though it isn't clear they will be able to do anything without some proof of purchase etc.

Help with Dropdown box autopopulating text
I have created a dropdown box and set-it up with scripting to populate text fields based upon selection. The problem that I am having is when you make your selection it does not automatically update the text box. I have to click on another form field once I make a selection, then click on the text in the dropdown box. This will then result in the text fields auto populating. Could you please help, so that these extra steps will not need to be taken. Below is the coding that I used.

However, when I change "event.target" to "event.value" it no longer works. If I do all the steps but leave "event.target" it does autopopluate, but the information is incorrect.

File error for improperly inserted or defective desk when using Word with text boxes PLEASE HELP!
When I have a Word document opened that contains around 10 text boxes, I get..."A file error has occurred. Check your network connections or make sure the disk is properly inserted and not defective" causing the program to either quit automatically or freeze and require me to manually shut my computer down. This will occur about every 15 minutes and only when I am on a document with numerous text boxes. Also, I do copy and paste the text boxes from file to file and change the text accordingly.
Operating System - Mac OSX 10.8.5
Microsoft Word 2011 - Version 14.4.5
File sizes - around 190 KB
I have turned off track changes and smart cut and paste options, checked for duplicate fonts (none), verified both the Macintosh HD and Apple HDD Media disks (both said the disks were fine so I did not repair either). Hiya Aish, thanks for your response. I have copied the header from master page and pasted it on my home page (assuming this is a layer??) They are the same width i.e. touch the edge of the visible page/background and pinned it. However, it's not filling the entire browser window. It's like it's only the page width and pinning it to the left side of the browser. My text however is going behind this now so thank you. Any chance you could help extend the graphics so they fill the browser width as per the master page please??

Problems with text box borders, tabbing and saving doc in Acrobat Pro 7.1.0
When I view my form document in Acrobat Reader, there is a red border around several text boxes
in which I've selected 'NO border'
Also, I've selected 'column order' for tabbing, but tabs continue to function in order in which I inserted form item (text box, check box or radial button). Since I didn't insert these consecutively, tabs no jump all around the form instead of proceeding in order from top to bottm and left to right.
I've checked for Mac Acrobat Pro updates and see that there are three - 7.1.1, 7.1.3, and 7.1.4, and am downloading them for install.
Do any of the updates fix these problems? Or how can it be fixed?
On opening document in Reader, I also get a message informing that document cannot be saved with changes and must be printed, even though I've created it with fillable forms.
Is there some setting for allowing document to be saved?
I want to be able to have recipient be able to download form, fill it out, save changes, attach to email and return it to me.This has been a problem since version 8 on the mac. Acrobat 7 on the mac worked fine with the right side trim but not on the PC.
We are still having this problem with Acrobat 9.4.0 on the Mac & PC.
This has now been an issue for 2 versions of Acrobat Pro.(8 & 9)
Being in Pre Press and having to constantly set the trim for jobs, this is now taking up too much time and costing money.
Please fix this Adobe.
and on another note. how hard would it be to display the trim (if set) next to where the page size is?
If the trim is set it should display it! why should we have to go to document/crop pages>trim.
Im in a busy Pre Press Dept and the amount of times you have to check a trim size is stupid.
I always set prefs to display crop / trim / and bleed boxes and this helps but it should display it if its set.
