Help with the Folder app in iPhone?

Let me first say this question is about the App named "Folder" by Geopher Tools. This is not about how to create "folders" or putting your applications in a iPhone OS "folder", etc. I bought this App in order to transfer files (including PDF, DOC, XLS, etc.) from my PC through iTunes and then should be able to e-mail them via Folder App in the iPhone.
I've installed the Folder App in my iPhone, synched it with iTunes on my PC, clicked on the Folder icon in iTunes Apps, got permission from iTunes store to use it on my PC, and now... nothing? Can't figure out what to do next? No documentation.
I've tried dragging a DOC or PDF onto the Folder icon and nothing. There doesnt appear to be a folder in iTunes for me to drag files into. Can you help me complete this App install to full functionality. Btw, my iPhone shows that my Folder is empty, of course. The next step is something in iTunes but I can't figure out what? It would be nice if Geopher Tools the developer put a easy instruction sheet on the Web or something. Sound a little frustrated? Thanks for any help you can give me! David

I believe your problem is almost certainly a "Smart Playlist" that is secretly re-sending podcasts from iTunes to the iPhone. When it does this, it sends the version of the podcast that is on iTunes to the iPhone, thus eradicating any information about time played.
This results in losing your place in the podcast, and -- most annoyingly -- re-sending podcasts that you have already played completely and that you want eliminated!
The solution that seems to be working for me is to delete all "Smart Playlists". I deleted all the lists from iTunes, and also from the iPhone itself. (I deleted the lists on the iPhone by setting my preferences temporarily to "manage manually" and right-clicking them in the drop-down under the device. Then I switched back to automatic management.)
To avoid this problem in future, when you create a Smart Playlist, you must add a rule that says "Podcast is False." Strangely, all the lists I deleted had such a rule, but apparently it was not excluding podcasts from being re-sent.
Hope this helps!
P.S. For the moment, I've changed my device preference for podcasts no "Sync 5 most recent unplayed" rather than "all unplayed". I don't know if that matters, but it makes syncing faster for testing purposes.

  • Can anyone help with the new App Store app? It keeps telling me that there is an unknown error even though I can access my account information, thanks.

Any idea why upgrading to 5 should cause problems with App Store app. Can I delete it and download it again.  How might I do this.

I had an unknown error problem with the Mac App Store, and this is how I fixed:
    (1) Inside Mac App Store select 'Debug' menu from top menu bar
    (2) Select "Show download folder ...'  from drop down menu
    (3) It will then take you to the folder in Finder
    (4) Press Cmd + I while on highlighted folder to Get Info (or choose 'Get Info' from right-click menu)
    (5) Under sharing and permissions click on the padlock to enter admin password and make changes
    (6) Now press the plus "+" sign and from the dialogue box add the Administrators (admin) group
    (7) When returned to the Get Info box, under sharing and permissions select 'Read and Write' as the option next to the admin group
    (8) Close the Mac App Store app, then re-open it. Now try downloading apps. It worked for me.
(note: I'm finding I have to lock and unlock a couple of times with Lion before it lets me change some permissions, so if unresponsive first time try locking again then unlocking)

  • What's the problem with the music App on iPhone 3GS iOS 6.1.3

Sometimes the in the music app the volum doesn't show up, or sometimes I can't see
The the name of the singer it's like showing like an iPhone five or something and its annoying
Because its not a 4 inch it's. 3.5 inch can apple fix that?

    Hello Kunmon,
The following article provides some useful troubleshooting that can help get your iPhone's camera working correctly.
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

    - Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear.  (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
    - Relaunch the App and try again.

  • TS1702 Problem with the Music app on iPhone 4S

In the music app on my iPhone 4S, I select the "Genres" tab at the bottom menu and when I click on "Rock" it takes me to my "Folk" albums.  In my iTunes on my MBP, they are correctly labeled and when the iPhone is connected to the computer, all seems well.  Has anyone else had any problems like this with this app?

So sorry I just saw that there many people with the same problem as mine, sorry to spam you guys. I will write into the correct topic.

  • HT201272 Problems with The Times app for iphone

I have purchased an iphone app for The Times through itunes at a cost of £9.99 for 30 days.  Over 2 weeks has passed and I still don't have full access to the app.  Sometimes I can log-in and it works, but every day there are times when I cannot log-in.  When I try to log-in, the app says my subscription has expired.  I type in my email address and password, and it doesn't accept it (a message says I should email The Times helpdesk).  I contacted The Times helpdesk, and they told me that it was a problem with itunes.  I would like to understand what the problem is, and why isn't the app working?

  • Need Help with the Remote App

I am able to get this to work on my iMac at home but I was trying to help my dad get his remote App working and have not had any luck. Well, slight luck but only for about 1 minute. His computer is hard wired into the wifi router, ipod touch is wifi from same router. He uses CA Firewall (what Time Warner has as a perk to their road runner service). He has windows XP with the latest Microsoft, iTunes, and Remote software. Here is the problem, the iPod touch generates the pass code but the device list with the remote icon never appears. I got it working for 1 minute when I completely turned off the firewall but even with the firewall off it still then lost connection and couldnt find the library. Any ideas?? I am so confused. I made sure that iTunes was allowed through the firewall. I really want to get this working for him. Any help would be awesome!

Hrmm... nice job doing homework... Do you know, or can you find out, if port 3689 is open or blocked? If it's blocked, open it up. I believe this is the same port used for Music Sharing in iTunes, but it's also the port used by the Remote app.

  • Can anyone help with the penultimate app

My wife lost her notes she took with this app and the app itself.  can anyone give me any idea where it could be

Try a search for the app.  Swipe your finger from left to right on the home screen until you get a search field.  If it doesn't turn up, she has probably inadvertently deleted it, which deletes all data associated with the app as well.  Has she been syncing it regularly with a computer?  If so, restore the iPad from the backup stored on that computer.

I think this is probably a sign that your network could be better than it is.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

In iTunes, try signing out of your Apple ID & then back in: click on iTunes Store on the left sidebar of iTunes, click on your Apple ID on the top right, sign out, sign back in.  Then try to sync your purchased music to your phone again.

I have a  macbook, an ipad, and an iphone with the Mail app on all three synced through icloud, but when I read and delete emails on my phone, the inbox on my ipad is not update, so I have to go through and mark as read or delete messages again. How can I sync my iphone and ipad? (it seems like each is synced only to my laptop, so don't synchronize until I go home and use my laptop.

POP: yahoo, aol, comcast/time warnder/road runner
Imap: google, hotmail, and more including icloud.
If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically  Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.
To find out more about what happens to you, search on Google "difference between pop and imap"
